What does house sitting entail?

I know the sitter stays at the home, assume that they feed the dogs. If I want them to walk the dogs, do I book that separately?

House Sitting is a 24 hour period of care for your animals in your home. That includes all of your pet's basic needs within that time frame: food, water, walks, pets and love. Essentially, Rover.com is about pets more than homes. :)

Thank you. I was trying to figure out if I needed to book a separate walk in addition to the house sitting.

To elaborate a bit more - house sitting should cover all the care your pet will need for each 24 hour period. This includes feeding, walking, play time, cuddles, etc. You should not have to book any extra services within this 24 hour period.

However, I would recommend that you go over this with the sitter prior to booking. I have seen a few sitters on Rover that have much lower house sitting prices, but it's because they consider house sitting to be a 12 hour period and will only stay overnight at the house (ex. 7pm - 7am). Those sitters most likely would charge extra for walks or drop-ins throughout the day. I'd suggest you communicate your needs and expectations with the sitters you're interested in and ask them if their house sitting fees would cover your needs!

I agree with Carly. It's a 24-hour commitment for me, which includes everything for the pet. I also include non-pet things like bringing in the mail or newspaper, turning lights on/off, watering plants, and other minor house-related activities. Discuss everything at the M&G, everyone is different.
