From the start, she was incredibly punctual and followed through on every commitment she made. About: I've been taking care of dogs since last year. My neighbors have relied on me to walk, feed, and take care of their pets whenever they go on vacation. I'm currently applying to work at various hotels. I'm avaliable after 2 pm on weekdays, and I'm also avaliable on the weekends, but it varies depending on what I have going for me that week. In my home I feed, and walk our dog. I play with him. and make sure he gets the proper attention he needs. I also make sure he is secure at night. When walking him, if he wants to meet other dog friends on the way, we do that, but I make sure both dogs are calm and happy before engaging.
“Veronica was an absolute dream to work with! Our older pups started experiencing some random symptoms about a week before our trip to Japan and we contemplated cancelling the whole trip but Veronica gave us so much comfort and reassurance which also gave us peace of mind. We were in communication every day and she also sent pics/videos which was so calming for us. Normally we don't worry as much but our dogs are 16 and 13 years old but Veronica was very understanding and we cannot wait to work with her again. Thank you!”

About: Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s what I love. I’ve spent years working hands-on with pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I truly believe every animal deserves patience, respect, and individualized care. From energetic puppies and shy rescues to senior pets who need a gentler touch, I’m experienced in adapting my care to each pet’s unique needs. As a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of reliable care. I’m primarily available during the morning and early afternoon, which allows me to provide attentive, unrushed visits that fit well with pets’ daily routines. I care for pets in their own home, where they’re most comfortable and relaxed. I follow your pet’s established routine closely—feeding, playtime, litter or potty care, medications, and quiet companionship—so their day feels as normal as possible while you’re away. I treat your home with respect, keep spaces clean and tidy, and take time to make sure your pet feels safe, calm, and well cared for. Thoughtful attention and reliable updates are always part of my in‑home care.
About: I have been watching dogs and cats since I was 15 years old! I have experience with many ages, breeds and sizes! I love making sure each pet I work with is treated as if they were my own pet. I have base access as well so if you are military and need assistance, I am here to help with your furry family members! I am currently working part time and on summer break from college! I work mornings so I am home in the afternoon and evenings. I have my own car for transportation. I like to ensure your pet has everything they need to be comfortable. I live in a walkable neighborhood so your dog will get plenty of walks! I like to prioritize keeping your pets routine as close as possible to what it is when with you to ensure your pet is as stress free as possible!

Koda and Luna was well cared for, while we were away, Matomi also kept us updated and also sent us photos of Koda and Luna. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Honolulu
I simply can't rate Beth highly enough. She gave our energetic, attention loving pup a ton of exercise and attention, was very generous with her time/pictures/texts, and all on quite short notice after our previously scheduled sitter had their plans changed. Couldn't have asked for a better fit.

Hannah and Ian were fabulous with my lil Hela while I was away for 3 days. They were very open minded and helpful from the very beginning. I highly recommend them to take care of anyone's pet. They made sure Hela was well fed and cared for and even sent me pics along the way. Thanks Hannah & Ian!

Yee Ki took great care of both our pup, fish, and house +house plants! She met with us first to learn the special needs of our pup (medical condition) and we felt at ease getting to meet her in person first. Yee Ki provided regular photo updates, and extra communication when necessary. The house was in the same condition as when we left - tidy and neat. It’s clear she took extra care to ensure our return home would be comfortable and stress free. We appreciate Yee Ki’s service and would recommend her to anyone.

We would highly recommend Luke for any pet care needs! He watched our fur baby for over two weeks and we had full confidence that he was well taken care of during our whole trip. Luke was easy to communicate with, clearly loved our dog and our dog loved him, and he took wonderful care of our home as well. We will definitely be repeat clients!

Andrés was awesome! Pawson loved him from the minute he met him. Andrés provided Pawson with plenty of exercise, and he was very attentive to all of Pawson's needs. He also sent regular updates to make sure that I knew how Pawson was doing. We'll definitely be seeing Andrés again!

Seriously, the best dog sitter ever. My two GSD’s are not typical dogs. They like to bond with a person and enjoy lots of walks. VIctoria treated them like royalty, sent me a ton of pictures and walked the dogs several times a day. My house was clean when I got home and she had even washed and tied the sheets. I can’t say enough good things about her

Mia was kind and attentive and my puppy Koa had a great time with her. She made sure to clarify any questions she had and also was super open to learning how to feed him his special diet. She spent a lot of time with Koa taking him to the dog park and on walks which he loves!

Alessandra is the GOAT! I was naturally a bit anxious about a stranger staying in my house, but she completely blew those worries away. Her energy is 10/10!! She is sweet, genuine, and incredibly loving toward my dog Tito! We started this booking as strangers and ended it as great friends. If you can snag a spot on her calendar, DO IT. We definitely hope Elizabeth will be available to hang out with Charlie in the future. Charlie liked her, she was affectionate and attentive with our baby, and she communicated well with us. She was also quite flexible when she could be. Elizabeth, we really appreciate your extra efforts before and during your stays with Charlie!

FAQs for House Sitting - Honolulu
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Honolulu on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 1,053 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Honolulu. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Honolulu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Honolulu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Honolulu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Honolulu. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
