“Lehua took good care of our house and dogs while we were away. She was very neat and prompt with communication. We got daily updates/pictures to put my mind at ease. Would definitely recommend!”

“Rebecca did an amazing job house sitting my fur baby for the 7 days and nights I was away and kept my home very clean. Rebecca even washed all the bedding and dishes she used, if any. My home was as clean as I left, if not cleaner. I’m very very pleased with her services and will recommend her to everyone!! Rebecca, you are da best!! Thank you so much!!!”

“Michelle is the absolute best. She stayed with my girls for a few nights and took great care of them. She’s great with sending detailed updates and photos. Michelle is reliable, professional, and has a special way with animals.”

“Argentina was a life saver. She dog/house for my three dogs for several weeks and on very short notice. She sent many photos of the dogs and was in constant communication. My dogs love her. She took great care of my home as well. She is such a sweetheart and I will certainly hire her again next time I need a sitter!”

“Mita was amazing with my dogs and cats. They love her and she is so communicative and easy to work with. She really took such amazing care of my babies. I will definitely be using her again.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life, I have experience training 4 dogs from puppy age through middle age and up until senior age! The dogs I have taken care of range from big dogs (german shepherds) to tiny dogs (teacup chihuahuas). I have a very active lifestyle that allows me to have fun with the dogs and get them active. I have experienced working with shelter dogs, I actively walked them and fed them. I HAVE BASE ACCESS :) !! My schedule has my days ending early afternoons so I would be available to stop in for walks/check-ins after. My nights are flexible for night visits. I currently live in dorm housing where animals are not allowed but for care inside client homes I will keep a watchful eye when letting your pet out and pay close attention to instructions.
“Joshua did an amazing job house sitting and caring for our two dogs (a 6-month old puppy and an 8-year old doodle). Managing our puppy can be challenging, but Joshua handled it with ease. He took both dogs on plenty of walks, followed all of our instructions, and kept us updated with regular activity reports and lots of pictures. He even left our place looking cleaner than when we left. We would gladly have Joshua look after our home and dogs again”

“Giselle was simply wonderful! She sat for our two dogs over the weekend and kept us updated the entire time. She sent photos and updates and cared for our boys like they were hers!! 🐾”
“First off I have never had anyone stay at my house to sit Mattis. I am very particular of my personal space more so allowing a stranger into my house while O was away for thousands of miles. I did not know that Leonard only provided sitting at one’s home here in Hawaii (in Texas he boards). However, after reading Leonard’s reviews, and realizing this, I decided to get outside my comfort zone and allow a stranger into my house, based on his past reviews. After having Leonard come by the house to meet Madison and to show him around to set expectations, I felt much much more ease. However, the doubt and concern were still there. Leonard not only met but he exceeded way above and beyond my expectations this experience. My entire house to include the common areas and the room for Leonard to sleep was completely intact. Walking into my house it felt like nobody had been there. Mattis was well cared for, did not smell, was in great spirits, and appeared to have been well taken care of. Leonard understood the little nuisances when taking Mattis out and the small details on how Mattis reacts to other dogs to include lizards LOL. I 100% recommend Leonard to anyone needing attention to detail and love looking after their pupper. Leonard is a good man, gentle, caring, and all around respectful when staying at your home. He will communicate as much or as little as you want. I left for a week and returned to my house exactly how I left it and maybe even better than as if I was here. Mahalo nui loa Leonard🤙🫶”
About: I grew up caring for animals of all kinds, from pugs and bulldogs to mastiffs, rabbits, turtles, and more. I have also delivered and raised three litters of puppies, giving me hands-on experience with every stage of care. Today, I’m a proud mom to two French Bulldogs who I see as my son and daughter. Because of that, I know how important it is to trust someone who will treat your fur baby as family. When your pets are with me, they will get the same love, attention, and care I give my own. Pet care is a natural part of my everyday life. I work full time with a flexible schedule, which allows me to adjust my hours as needed to give pets the attention they deserve. I usually work early mornings, so I’m available in the afternoons and evenings. My significant other is also a loving pet parent and happy to lend a hand, so together we make sure your fur baby is never short on care, love, or attention. I live in a townhouse with a fully enclosed front yard and outdoor patio that gives plenty of space for pets to run and play. My two French Bulldogs, both 2 years old, are playful and friendly, but I can easily keep them separated from visiting pets if needed since they are crate trained. Our dogs sleep in bed with us every night, cuddled up in the cool AC, and we’re happy to welcome your fur baby the same way if that’s what makes them feel most at home. With hardwood floors for easy cleanup, a safe enclosed space, and lots of love, I provide a secure and cozy environment where pets are treated like family.
“I’ve used Janey a few times now and have no regrets. I feel guilty leaving my 16 yr old Colbie when I go on short trips, but I feel secure that Janey cares for him like her own. She is observant and reports if anything is out of the ordinary. As long as Janey is available and my Colbie is alive, I will keep on using her as my go to dog sitter.”

“Thank you Liz for taking such good care of our fur babies! We have a very needy (high separation anxiety) puppy and she was able to stay with him and our other dog all day :D. She also followed our directions/routines to the tee - walking, feeding, training. She went above and beyond and even clear our floors when she noticed the dogs made it dirty. We are truly grateful for Liz. Her dedication and professionalism are unmatched! Will be reaching out to her again :)”

“Destiny took great care of my geriatric dog! She gave her the numerous medications that she takes daily with great care and attention. Destiny was also helpful in putting down fresh puppy pads, ensuring my house was sanitary. She sent pictures frequently throughout the 3 days that she looked after our pooch. We greatly appreciate her thorough care of our pet!”
“Alexis took wonderful care of our two boys while we were away for the holidays. We could tell they were very happy and well-loved while we were away. We would definitly recommend her any time. Thank you, Alexis!”

About: A BIT ABOUT ME: I’ve been around animals literally all my life. Throughout elementary and high school, I volunteered at the Hawaiian Humane Society and the Honolulu Zoo. Growing up, some of the pets and animals I’ve taken care of were: Dogs Cats (currently I have three cats now) Smaller pets (rats, mice, birds and rabbits) Ducks Chickens A lot of fish and even a baby pig, that required nursing. I work at a dog daycare, but am currently seeking clients to transition to Rover full time and am willing to be flexible. If you are planning an extended trip and need someone to watch your pet everyday, I might be a great fit. I have worked at the pet daycare for 9 years and have experience with monitoring and working with a pack of around 40 dogs (or more) Some of the other jobs I have at the dog daycare are: -Cleaning kennels -Laundry/Dishes/General Cleaning -Cat playtime -Litter box cleaning -Rabbit Care -Preparing food bowls -Dog walking -Enrichment activities for the dogs (such as puzzle time, basic command training, arts and crafts for the dogs, bedtime stories) -Basic grooming (such as nail trims, baths, blow drying brushing and ear cleaning and teeth brushing.) -Monitoring dogs during swim classes -Administering medications to pets -Giving extra attention to animals who are seniors or have special needs PLEASE NOTE When I meet you and your fur babies I would like to spend at least an hour with them before scheduling a pet sitting or regular walking, to be sure they feel comfortable with me. Things I need to know from you: -If your pet has special needs, health problems, allergies, separation anxiety, issues with taking medications, is food/toy aggressive with humans, or other dogs. -If your pet requires medications, any tricks or treats you use. -If your pet has any anxiety at bath time, or during nail trims -If there is anything I can do to make them feel more comfortable, relaxed and happy, please let me know. What you can expect from me: -I will absolutely give your fur babies the love and care they need. Should they require extra attention, you can rely on me. -To give you peace of mind, after a walk visit is completed, or while you are away on a trip, I will update you with a fun report, via email or text. Please note that should an emergency arise, I will call immediately. All animals are special to me…with the exception of spiders. You can trust that while your fur baby is in my care, they will be well looked after. To start, I’m able to work Sunday mornings, Mondays and Wednesdays. If more time is required, I’m flexible. Currently I’m starting as a dog walker, if clients increase I will devote more time to dog walking and eventually sitting Currently, I am available for dog walking specifics on where to collect/return dog can be individualized to meet client’s needs. I would prefer not to enter the client’s home, but if it is necessary, I am willing to do so. If client requests home entry, I will need to meet with owner and dog in client’s home at least twice, to be sure the dog feels comfortable with me. If client prefers leaving the dog in an enclosed yard, one meeting with both dog and owner should suffice, but all decisions will be made case by case.
“I don’t think that anything I’ll write will do justice to how amazing her care was for my pup Archie. Ria watched Archie over Christmas and she did an amazing job. She constantly send me updates with pictures and videos. I’m always anxious leaving and always worry about Archie but I really did not have to. Archie loves her and always gets excited to see her. Ria has walked Archie many times and she takes him on little adventures to the beach or the dog park. She is very quick to respond and open to any needs. Archie can get very anxious sometimes but I know that Ria knows what to do and knows how to help him in the situation. I 100% recommend Ria for your dog sitting or walking needs. And I will definitely book with her again.”

About: I've had animals my whole life. Ever since I could walk, I was trying to bring strays home. It would drive my mom crazy, but I always wanted to try and save every single one. I truly love animals and get so much join from making sure they are well taken care of and loved on. I am extra patient and understanding. I am currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to take care of your fur babies! I can commute from most anywhere when I am scheduled, so I am happy to stay in your home where your loved ones feel most comfortable. **Something to consider: I work on a boat and there are days where I may be out of the house for longer than four hours at a time. I learn fast and can make sure that I continue the routine you have set for your animals. I want to minimize the stress for them as much as possible, with a new person temporarily taking care of them, so I will do everything I can to make sure I keep things as normal and comfortable as possible!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Camp H. M. Smith
We had such a wonderful experience with Shalyn! She took amazing care of our two dogs and our cat while we were traveling off island, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. One of our dogs is very anxious around new people and can sometimes be reactive toward both people and other dogs, so we were a little nervous about leaving him. From the initial meet and greet, though, Shalyn was patient, calm, and wonderful with him. He warmed up to her right away, which is incredibly rare and gave us so much peace of mind. Throughout our trip, Shalyn was incredibly communicative and sent us lots of photos and videos, which we always looked forward to. It was obvious from all the updates how comfortable our pets were with her. Seeing how much the dogs played with her, sought her out, and interacted with her made it clear they genuinely enjoyed having her there. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets, and we’re so grateful for the excellent care she provided. We look forward to booking Shalyn again for future sittings and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter!

Sofiya did a long stretch of house and cat sitting for me. She is clearly a warm hearted animal lover. I appreciated her willingness to take on the care of my cat in declining health. She went out of her way to care for him and to keep me updated. The house was kept neat and clean. I would hire her again without any hesitation.

Britney was absolutely outstanding! She cared for my furry kids as if they were her own, ensuring they felt safe, loved, and comfortable throughout her time with them. Beyond managing all their daily needs, she took them to the groomer and picked them up, returning them smelling fresh and looking great, as always. Her meticulous attention to detail and genuine care truly set her apart from other sitters. Britney also went above and beyond by carefully tending to my Elsa’s dry eye condition—keeping it clean and medicated with consistent care. Additionally, she checked my mail for packages I was expecting, demonstrating a thoughtful commitment to both my pets and home. I wholeheartedly recommend Britney to anyone seeking a responsible, loving, and attentive dog sitter who treats pets like family. Thank you, Britney, for your exceptional, personalized care and professionalism.

Diego did a wonderful job caring for our dog Brody and cat Beelzebub during our trip away for two weeks. He was very thorough and professional from the start, taking time before our departure to meet with us and both pets, and going through our entire routine to make sure he understood their needs. Throughout our time away, Diego sent daily photos of Brody, which gave us great peace of mind. Both pets were clearly happy and healthy when we returned, which speaks to the quality of care Diego provided. The house was also the way we left it, which we appreciated. The only minor issue was that our cat had done some clawing damage to a piece of furniture during our absence, which Diego didn't notice or address. While it wasn't a huge deal, it would have been nice if he had caught this and redirected Beelzebub s behavior. I also take full responsibility for this as the cat 🐈⬛ has never clawed at furniture in the four years I’ve had him, so I didn’t give Diego a heads up about it. Overall, Diego is a caring and reliable pet sitter who we would definitely consider using again. His preparation and communication were excellent, and our pets were well-cared for in our absence. Thank you Diego!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Camp H. M. Smith on Rover is $74.9 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Camp H. M. Smith walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Camp H. M. Smith maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Camp H. M. Smith choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
