About: I have had dogs my entire life, I have experience training 4 dogs from puppy age through middle age and up until senior age! The dogs I have taken care of range from big dogs (german shepherds) to tiny dogs (teacup chihuahuas). I have a very active lifestyle that allows me to have fun with the dogs and get them active. I have experienced working with shelter dogs, I actively walked them and fed them. I HAVE BASE ACCESS :) !! My schedule has my days ending early afternoons so I would be available to stop in for walks/check-ins after. My nights are flexible for night visits. I currently live in dorm housing where animals are not allowed but for care inside client homes I will keep a watchful eye when letting your pet out and pay close attention to instructions.

Argentina was absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of our pup, gave him multiple walks, and sent us several updates every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was respectful of our home, took great care of my plants, and even washed our bedsheets without being asked. She truly went above and beyond. We were so impressed that we rebooked her on the spot for our next vacation. It feels amazing knowing that our pup and home will be in the hands of someone we trust completely. We cannot recommend Argentina enough!

About: A BIT ABOUT ME: I’ve been around animals literally all my life. Throughout elementary and high school, I volunteered at the Hawaiian Humane Society and the Honolulu Zoo. Growing up, some of the pets and animals I’ve taken care of were: Dogs Cats (currently I have three cats now) Smaller pets (rats, mice, birds and rabbits) Ducks Chickens A lot of fish and even a baby pig, that required nursing. I work at a dog daycare, but am currently seeking clients to transition to Rover full time and am willing to be flexible. If you are planning an extended trip and need someone to watch your pet everyday, I might be a great fit. I have worked at the pet daycare for 9 years and have experience with monitoring and working with a pack of around 40 dogs (or more) Some of the other jobs I have at the dog daycare are: -Cleaning kennels -Laundry/Dishes/General Cleaning -Cat playtime -Litter box cleaning -Rabbit Care -Preparing food bowls -Dog walking -Enrichment activities for the dogs (such as puzzle time, basic command training, arts and crafts for the dogs, bedtime stories) -Basic grooming (such as nail trims, baths, blow drying brushing and ear cleaning and teeth brushing.) -Monitoring dogs during swim classes -Administering medications to pets -Giving extra attention to animals who are seniors or have special needs PLEASE NOTE When I meet you and your fur babies I would like to spend at least an hour with them before scheduling a pet sitting or regular walking, to be sure they feel comfortable with me. Things I need to know from you: -If your pet has special needs, health problems, allergies, separation anxiety, issues with taking medications, is food/toy aggressive with humans, or other dogs. -If your pet requires medications, any tricks or treats you use. -If your pet has any anxiety at bath time, or during nail trims -If there is anything I can do to make them feel more comfortable, relaxed and happy, please let me know. What you can expect from me: -I will absolutely give your fur babies the love and care they need. Should they require extra attention, you can rely on me. -To give you peace of mind, after a walk visit is completed, or while you are away on a trip, I will update you with a fun report, via email or text. Please note that should an emergency arise, I will call immediately. All animals are special to me…with the exception of spiders. You can trust that while your fur baby is in my care, they will be well looked after. To start, I’m able to work Sunday mornings, Mondays and Wednesdays. If more time is required, I’m flexible. Currently I’m starting as a dog walker, if clients increase I will devote more time to dog walking and eventually sitting Currently, I am available for dog walking specifics on where to collect/return dog can be individualized to meet client’s needs. I would prefer not to enter the client’s home, but if it is necessary, I am willing to do so. If client requests home entry, I will need to meet with owner and dog in client’s home at least twice, to be sure the dog feels comfortable with me. If client prefers leaving the dog in an enclosed yard, one meeting with both dog and owner should suffice, but all decisions will be made case by case.

5 Stars – Truly the Best Dog Sitter! We are beyond grateful for the incredible care our three dogs received while we were away. From the start, it was clear our sitter was not only experienced but genuinely kind and attentive. She took the time to get to know each dog’s unique personality and needs, and it immediately put us at ease. We got regular updates and adorable photos that gave us so much peace of mind—it really felt like our dogs were on their own little vacation! It was obvious how much love and effort went into every part of their care. Reliable, thoughtful, and truly a gem—this is someone who goes above and beyond. We wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book again or recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier pet care.

About: Dog sitting perfectly fits my active lifestyle. I'll treat your small/medium pup like family, providing the walks, fetch, and dedicated care I love giving. As a teacher on summer break, my schedule is highly flexible. Pups easily join my morning and evening walks, and I have plenty of open time between errands, reading, and relaxing to provide dedicated attention, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I care for your dog in your home by sticking closely to their established routine. Because my own living space is dog-free, I treat your home with the utmost respect while ensuring your pup gets plenty of personalized care, structured exercise, safe playtime, and tons of love.

I am currently a part time college student that will be taking classes online. I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I will do my best to work with so that it works out for everyone. I cannot board any animals in my home however I would be happy to spend the night with your furry family members in your home. I take pet safety very serious and I’ll care for your pet like they’re my own pet. I’ll also follow any instructions, rules and dietary needs that you have for your pet. Further more I won’t leave your pet unsupervised unless in a safe or secure place and with your knowledge and permission.

Joshua did an amazing job house sitting and caring for our two dogs (a 6-month old puppy and an 8-year old doodle). Managing our puppy can be challenging, but Joshua handled it with ease. He took both dogs on plenty of walks, followed all of our instructions, and kept us updated with regular activity reports and lots of pictures. He even left our place looking cleaner than when we left. We would gladly have Joshua look after our home and dogs again

About: I have taken care of my 2 dogs for the past 10 years and I have taken care of my neighbors dogs many times. I have a very needy dog so I know when a dog needs to go for a walk or needs food. My only job is pet sitting so I am extremely available as long as I have time to go on hikes or walks around the city. I walk one of my two dogs 4-5 times a day and I walk my other dog only once or twice a day because she is very old but I feed both of them 3 times a day. I only gives them baths when they get stinky.

About: I grew up caring for animals of all kinds, from pugs and bulldogs to mastiffs, rabbits, turtles, and more. I have also delivered and raised three litters of puppies, giving me hands-on experience with every stage of care. Today, I’m a proud mom to two French Bulldogs who I see as my son and daughter. Because of that, I know how important it is to trust someone who will treat your fur baby as family. When your pets are with me, they will get the same love, attention, and care I give my own. Pet care is a natural part of my everyday life. I work full time with a flexible schedule, which allows me to adjust my hours as needed to give pets the attention they deserve. I usually work early mornings, so I’m available in the afternoons and evenings. My significant other is also a loving pet parent and happy to lend a hand, so together we make sure your fur baby is never short on care, love, or attention. I live in a townhouse with a fully enclosed front yard and outdoor patio that gives plenty of space for pets to run and play. My two French Bulldogs, both 2 years old, are playful and friendly, but I can easily keep them separated from visiting pets if needed since they are crate trained. Our dogs sleep in bed with us every night, cuddled up in the cool AC, and we’re happy to welcome your fur baby the same way if that’s what makes them feel most at home. With hardwood floors for easy cleanup, a safe enclosed space, and lots of love, I provide a secure and cozy environment where pets are treated like family.

Veronica was an absolute dream to work with! Our older pups started experiencing some random symptoms about a week before our trip to Japan and we contemplated cancelling the whole trip but Veronica gave us so much comfort and reassurance which also gave us peace of mind. We were in communication every day and she also sent pics/videos which was so calming for us. Normally we don't worry as much but our dogs are 16 and 13 years old but Veronica was very understanding and we cannot wait to work with her again. Thank you!

We had such a wonderful experience with Shalyn! She took amazing care of our two dogs and our cat while we were traveling off island, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. One of our dogs is very anxious around new people and can sometimes be reactive toward both people and other dogs, so we were a little nervous about leaving him. From the initial meet and greet, though, Shalyn was patient, calm, and wonderful with him. He warmed up to her right away, which is incredibly rare and gave us so much peace of mind. Throughout our trip, Shalyn was incredibly communicative and sent us lots of photos and videos, which we always looked forward to. It was obvious from all the updates how comfortable our pets were with her. Seeing how much the dogs played with her, sought her out, and interacted with her made it clear they genuinely enjoyed having her there. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets, and we’re so grateful for the excellent care she provided. We look forward to booking Shalyn again for future sittings and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative pet sitter!

Britney was absolutely outstanding! She cared for my furry kids as if they were her own, ensuring they felt safe, loved, and comfortable throughout her time with them. Beyond managing all their daily needs, she took them to the groomer and picked them up, returning them smelling fresh and looking great, as always. Her meticulous attention to detail and genuine care truly set her apart from other sitters. Britney also went above and beyond by carefully tending to my Elsa’s dry eye condition—keeping it clean and medicated with consistent care. Additionally, she checked my mail for packages I was expecting, demonstrating a thoughtful commitment to both my pets and home. I wholeheartedly recommend Britney to anyone seeking a responsible, loving, and attentive dog sitter who treats pets like family. Diego did a wonderful job caring for our dog Brody and cat Beelzebub during our trip away for two weeks. He was very thorough and professional from the start, taking time before our departure to meet with us and both pets, and going through our entire routine to make sure he understood their needs. Throughout our time away, Diego sent daily photos of Brody, which gave us great peace of mind. Both pets were clearly happy and healthy when we returned, which speaks to the quality of care Diego provided. The house was also the way we left it, which we appreciated. The only minor issue was that our cat had done some clawing damage to a piece of furniture during our absence, which Diego didn't notice or address. While it wasn't a huge deal, it would have been nice if he had caught this and redirected Beelzebub s behavior. I also take full responsibility for this as the cat 🐈‍⬛ has never clawed at furniture in the four years I’ve had him, so I didn’t give Diego a heads up about it. Overall, Diego is a caring and reliable pet sitter who we would definitely consider using again. His preparation and communication were excellent, and our pets were well-cared for in our absence. Thank you Diego!

FAQs for House Sitting - Waimalu

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Waimalu on Rover is $38.26 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,022 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waimalu. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waimalu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waimalu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waimalu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waimalu. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
