“Amber was the perfect dog sitter. She gave frequent updates and was flexible with any schedule changes. She was also able to provide daily meds without issues. Would highly recommend!”

“Argentina was a life saver. She dog/house for my three dogs for several weeks and on very short notice. She sent many photos of the dogs and was in constant communication. My dogs love her. She took great care of my home as well. She is such a sweetheart and I will certainly hire her again next time I need a sitter!”

“Lawrence did a wonderful job taking care of my big baby while I was away. He arrived promptly on time, and was so caring to keep up my old dog’s routine, and keep her company while she enjoyed her favorite activities! He also gave me plenty of updates with pictures so I never had to worry while I was gone. I came home to a happy pup as well as a clean and cared for house. Looking forward to rebooking with him!”

“It was our first ever Rover experience and I’m so grateful that it was with Rebecca. She was great with our babies and I had a complete peace of mind. I enjoyed all the updates we received along with cute photos and videos. Great communication, very understanding, and overall just such a wonderful experience. We will definitely book again with Rebecca if/when the need ever arises.”

“Tanya was amazing, she stayed with our pups and they seemed to enjoy her company. They were well fed and socialized. Tanya did a great job of keeping us in the loop and easing this fluffy puppy mom. We will absolutely be calling her again.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life, I have experience training 4 dogs from puppy age through middle age and up until senior age! The dogs I have taken care of range from big dogs (german shepherds) to tiny dogs (teacup chihuahuas). I have a very active lifestyle that allows me to have fun with the dogs and get them active. I have experienced working with shelter dogs, I actively walked them and fed them. I HAVE BASE ACCESS :) !! My schedule has my days ending early afternoons so I would be available to stop in for walks/check-ins after. My nights are flexible for night visits. I currently live in dorm housing where animals are not allowed but for care inside client homes I will keep a watchful eye when letting your pet out and pay close attention to instructions.

“Richard was great with Moosey! Fast communicator. Sent pics and videos. Super respectful and left my place clean. Moosey loved him. Definitely would recommend and would book again for my future trips.”

“Jessica was amazing with my little Hazel. She was very accomodating to a unique sitting situation and made Hazel very comfortable. Would definitely have her doggy sit again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of my own pets since I was around 8 years old. I helped my senior dog when he couldn’t do things himself, as well as helped my relatives with their senior dogs. I’ve always been drawn to helping out animals, and not just dogs. I love all pets, no matter what size or age. I have patience and will take my time to make sure your pet is safe and well taken care of. I can do anything! Bathe, feed, walk, play, and more. I’m a fresh high school graduate. I’m going into college for veterinary technology so I can become a vet tech! Pet care will help me stay occupied while learning more on how to handle animals and prepare for my future. In my home/area, I will be able to feed, bathe, walk, and play with your pets in or outdoors. The same thing goes for my client’s house too, as well as making sure everything stays tidy while still giving your pet the care they need.
About: I have prior experience working as a dog handler and customer service representative at a boarding facility paired alongside with relevant experience as a vet tech assistant in an animal hospital. I know the hustle and bustle of life may sometimes keep you from being able to fully engage with your pet, or you may just want to ensure your pet is on their own staycation while you and your Ohana go on your vacation! That’s where I come in. I have been around dogs all my life and am aspiring to become a veterinarian sometime in the future so I know how much love and care your animal deserves. You can trust me to care for your pet as if they were my own!
“Very very happy with Bridget. She really took the time to learn the situation of my dog, he just lost his sister/litter mate and had been really down. She did amazing with him and I know he was treated very well because when I got home he was so mellow and looked so comfortable. Thank you so much Bridget, truly appreciate you.”

“Anastasia is the best 🥹 My doggy fell in love with her the second she laid eyes on her. She left our place looking the same as it looked when we left and she sent us tons of pics with updates. I will definitely be using her again ❤️”

About: Dogs are genuinely my favorite kind of people 😂🐶💕 I absolutely LOVE them and am happiest when I’m around them. Big, small, crazy energetic, or professional couch potato—I love them all. I’m comfortable with every personality and energy level, and I’d be thrilled to spend my time giving your pup all the love, attention, walks, and cuddles they could possibly want. Basically, getting to hang out with dogs is my idea of a perfect day. 🐾❤️

Argentina was absolutely wonderful! She took amazing care of our pup, gave him multiple walks, and sent us several updates every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was respectful of our home, took great care of my plants, and even washed our bedsheets without being asked. She truly went above and beyond. We were so impressed that we rebooked her on the spot for our next vacation. It feels amazing knowing that our pup and home will be in the hands of someone we trust completely. We cannot recommend Argentina enough!

First off I have never had anyone stay at my house to sit Mattis. I am very particular of my personal space more so allowing a stranger into my house while O was away for thousands of miles. I did not know that Leonard only provided sitting at one’s home here in Hawaii (in Texas he boards). However, after reading Leonard’s reviews, and realizing this, I decided to get outside my comfort zone and allow a stranger into my house, based on his past reviews. After having Leonard come by the house to meet Madison and to show him around to set expectations, I felt much much more ease. However, the doubt and concern were still there. Leonard not only met but he exceeded way above and beyond my expectations this experience. My entire house to include the common areas and the room for Leonard to sleep was completely intact. Walking into my house it felt like nobody had been there. Mattis was well cared for, did not smell, was in great spirits, and appeared to have been well taken care of. Leonard understood the little nuisances when taking Mattis out and the small details on how Mattis reacts to other dogs to include lizards LOL. I 100% recommend Leonard to anyone needing attention to detail and love looking after their pupper. Leonard is a good man, gentle, caring, and all around respectful when staying at your home. He will communicate as much or as little as you want. I left for a week and returned to my house exactly how I left it and maybe even better than as if I was here. Mahalo nui loa Leonard🤙🫶
Jocelyn was amazing! Our dogs loved her and she sent the best photo updates. Our Maltese, Ellie, who is sometimes nervous with new people, warmed up to her quickly. Our Aussie border collie, Enzo loved being able to go on runs while we were out of town. Our dachshund, Evie, takes seizure medications daily and they’re vital for her health and we had full confidence in leaving our fur babies in Jocelyn’s care. We would love to have her care for them again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Waipahu on Rover is $28.84 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,025 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waipahu. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waipahu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waipahu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waipahu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waipahu. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
