Dog lover: bigger is better!
I've lived with 2-3 dogs at a time my whole life (and currently just got a puppy). My largest dog was a Labrador, smallest was a terrier mix. I've taken care of a dog post-leg amputation and requiring oral meds daily. I pride myself on being able to teach dogs new tricks - favorites have been beg, roll over, and crawl. I've dog-sat at relatives homes and had friends dogs stay in my own home. Bonus: my sister is a vet so I have quick and easy access for any questions or concerns, and I'm a nurse practitioner so I have my own extensive medical background.

Kara was so good with our ‘Oli. He was actually sad when my son left him because he has never stayed with someone he didn’t know. Kara was patient and took the time to just sit with him and make him feel better until he warmed up more. She sent pictures and videos often to keep us updated and also took him for a walk which he loves. I could see from a video that he was happy to meet her husband when he got home so that was great to see. I wish he would have played with her beautiful dog, but because he was a little out of it, he was having no interest in other dogs lol. Hopefully next time he will. I’m so glad to have found Kara and grateful that she was able to take ‘Oli on very short notice. If I need a sitter in the near future, which I’m sure I will, I will definitely use Kara again!
Kara provided lots of helpful updates of our silly doggos, & they seemed in good spirits when we arrived home. Would book with her again.

Kara is great. She put Emma (and us) at great ease and took great care of Emma. We left Emma with Kara and could totally enjoy our time at our son’s wedding knowing Emma was being well taken care of. Emma was so calm when we went to pick her up so we know she had a good time. We’d definitely have Kara care for Emma again.
Words cannot describe how incredible Kara and her husband are! I feel so confident leaving my koda bear with them and will definitely be rebooking. I had an emergency happen THE DAY before my flight and needed to extend the stay… they were so kind in helping me arrange this with such short notice… without them I would’ve had to skip my trip. They’ll send a lot of pictures and videos as well and keep you updated!
Matcha seemed to have a good time there. Kara gave updates and pics of his stay. We and Matcha look forward to future stays.

Planning
I'm currently working 3-4 days a week while my husband also works 3-4 days a week as well. Daikon usually goes on 3-4 walks a day and is fine staying home alone for several hours so if this sounds like your pet, its the perfect fit!

I have a puppy who is crate-trained. I have boarded friend's dogs in our apartment without a crate, which is also fine. We like to take our fur baby out to the pet store to browse, the dog park every afternoon, and short morning and night walks.

A typical day would normally include at least a morning and night walk with a visit to some kind of park in the afternoon to let out all their energy! A quick and easy outing I like is the cedar river trail, but I would also be interested in taking dogs on a real hike! I also really enjoy taking dogs to the pet store and letting them feel like they're shopping. Warning: let me know if you want to limit the amount of treats your dog gets. If not, I enjoy having dogs dogs do many tricks for many treats
