“Charlene was super flexible and communicative, she sent pictures of our dog at her place. Our dog seemed comfortable and happy to be with her. We plan to use Charlene again!!!”

“Mayra is an amazing dog sitter. We had two dogs she took care of while we were out of town for two weeks. The pictures she sent each day shows how well our dogs were doing and we were very happy that they were in such a good caring environment. Especially our second dog was his first time at a sitter and he requires quite care (daily brushing, etc) and he seems so well taken care of. Definitely we would like to use her service at any time when we are out of town. Two thumbs up!”

About: I have experience caring for German Shepherds and mixed breed dogs, including high energy pups like my own dog, Atlas. I’m comfortable working with active dogs that enjoy playtime, long walks, and staying mentally and physically engaged. I’m very consistent with routines and make sure pets are fed on time, taken out for scheduled potty breaks, and given plenty of attention throughout the day. I also have experience administering oral medications and always follow instructions carefully to ensure pets stay healthy and comfortable. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well being are always my top priority, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I’m currently not working, so I’m home most of the day and have a very flexible schedule. Aside from brief outings like the gym or grocery runs, I’m able to provide consistent care, timely feedings, potty breaks, walks, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Due to my schedule, I’m able to stick closely to feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and any special care needs throughout the day. Because I’m home often, pets are rarely left alone and get consistent supervision, companionship, and routine.
“Christine was very thoughtful and sweet with our dog during her stay. I would trust Christine and know my dog was having a good time again and again with future stays! She communicated often and sent lots of pictures.”

Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Lily! She always seems so happy and excited to be there, and we love knowing she gets to spend time playing and socializing with all the other pups. It is clear that she feels comfortable, safe, and well cared for while she is with you. We truly appreciate the kindness, attention, and care you give her each time she visits. It gives us such peace of mind knowing Lily is in such good hands!

Wow! Beth is literally the perfect match for our active pup! Una is 8 years old but full of energy. Beth took her on a 6-mile run every morning and played fetch with Una to her heart's content. We wish Beth lived on the island full-time so we could have Una stay with her more often!

Highly recommend Amy! Our dog Pepper is usually shy, but she liked Amy instantly. Pepper felt right at home and we loved getting all the reassuring photo updates. Amy effortlessly accommodated Pepper’s custom feeding routine, and when Pepper had a mild, brief stomach upset, Amy was incredibly proactive, communicative, and caring. She is flexible, responsive, and gave us total peace of mind while we were away!

My dog cinnamon has ample of energy so Chloe did a wonderful job making sure he is well taken care of. She communicated well, sent me pictures and I fell my pet was in great hands. Gave feedback of how his stay was. Will definitely rebook again. Thanks Chloe. I appreciate all that you do 😁

Claudia was amazing. We were so nervous leaving our kitty, Anuenue, alone for the first time while we went on our trip abroad. Claudia was great at communication and this put us at ease while away. She gave a lot of updates and photos. She put us at ease! Highly recommended!

Alessandra was an amazing pet sitter and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for our cat! She was incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable while we were away. Her picture updates gave us so much peace of mind, and it was clear she truly cared and treated our pet like her own. We are so grateful for the care and love she provided and would recommend Alessandra a million times over to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter.

Maple is such a wonderful dog sitter! While we were away, she kept our guy busy with lots of walks. We really appreciated that she regularly sent us photos and updates about Toffie during his stay, and that she communicated clearly before and during his stay. He seemed to feel at home and enjoyed hanging out with her, too. We highly recommend Maple and would definitely contact her again in the future.

Scott and family welcomed Ellie into their home and took great care of her. They made sure to also relieve our anxiety with many pics and videos throughout the day. They kept us well informed when Ellie wasn’t feeling well and provided her with lots of love and hugs. We appreciate their whole family!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
