“Kyrie was awesome. This is our families first puppy and first time boarding a pet. She and her family took great care of our puppy. She sent daily pictures and videos of our dog. We will definitely use her boarding services again if we travel. Thanks again for taking care of our baby.”

“Joe kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. What really stood out was his attention to detail and how patient he was adjusting to our dogs, unique and quirky behaviors. It’s not always easy trusting someone else with your pet, but Joel made it feel effortless and comfortable.”

About: I petsit frequently for family, friends and neighbors for weeks at a time in my home and their homes. I have years of experience around all kinds of different animals. I understand different personalities in pets and can work around them. I stay at home with my two kids, who love animals. My schedule is always open so I am able to follow a unique routine. I have a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys, energetic kids and two cats. One cat likes to play outside while the other stays inside. I have rooms set up in my home for animals who prefer to be by themselves.
“Naudia was excellent! She was great at communicating with me before and during our (my dogs) stay and even sent me pictures of them playing and exercising while I was gone. The dogs were best friends with her dog Duke by the time I picked them up and”

“We cannot say enough good things about JP and Daisy. From the very beginning, they went above and beyond in caring for Toby and Pepper, and we truly never once had to ask for anything. They were incredibly thoughtful, proactive, and attentive, always checking in and doing things purely out of kindness and care for our pups. We had a poor experience in the past with a family friend watching our dogs, which made us nervous about trusting Rover. JP and Daisy completely changed that for us! They gave us total peace of mind and showed us what genuine, loving care looks like. We were especially worried about how our dogs would do socially, but somehow they helped both Toby and Pepper step outside their comfort zones, make friends, and truly enjoy their time. Seeing how happy and relaxed our dogs were made being away so much easier. We wholeheartedly recommend JP and Daisy to anyone looking for people they can truly trust with their pets!💯💯💯⭐️⭐️⭐️🐾! #starsitter”

“Makayla was absolutely awesome. Took our two cats last minute and took great care of them, gave them treats and the care they needed. Went above and beyond to make sure our family and our cats got what they needed, would do it again!”

About: Throughout college I cared for many dogs for family, friends, and as a side gig. I am experienced in dog walking, feeding, oral medication administration, and light grooming. I always enjoy sending pictures of your pet to show what a great time we are having! As a stay at home mom, I have great flexibility. I would also like to share that I have two friendly dogs that are kennel and potty trained in our home and a two year old daughter. I am currently a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to walk dogs and do light care during the day. As for overnight care, we have two dogs that love pet friends as long as they are friendly and get along with others. We typically go to an on-leash park in the evenings and do outings on weekend mornings. We have two small, friendly dogs and a toddler that will keep your dog more than entertained! We have a small outdoor area for on-leash play and are a three minute drive to a big park/field where we have a good dog community. We want your dog to feel comfortable and happy during their stay so the first 24 hours is just about learning about your dog and gaining their trust!
“Yesenia was flexible even after changes were made to the booking. She allowed us to tour her home/backyard and meet her dog as well beforehand to make sure they got along. She was communicative and checked in often.”

“Lucky me contacted Selena at my last min of the trip. She is a such friendly and patient lady, she sent the video and photos each day to updated to us during our trip. This is my first time apart with my Willow and I am kinda anxious, Selena took very good care of him, I am definitely recommend her and we will be her return customers.”

“We were so lucky to meet someone like Dianne. Such a kind, patient, loving, attentive person is hard to come by. She has really help us more than she knows.”

“Kristie was a total pro. Communicative, accommodating, inquisitive, and when we met her in person I could tell she was obviously a dog lover. She sent updates with pictures & videos every day during my pup’s stay with her. Highly recommend!”

“Paige is a great host, very friendly and responsive. My dogs had a great time with Lucky, and although I thought my dogs would be a bit much to have in an apartment for over a week it all seemed to go quite well:)”

“Greg was great! Poppy loved being there and loved his dog Zephyr! Greg sent photos everyday and I could tell Poppy was having a great time. Greg was easy to deal with and has a great dog property. I would book with him again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of my neighbors animals and ones of my own since I was ten years old. I am a very responsible and loving pet caregiver. I enjoy walking, grooming and feeding all types of animals. I have experience with clicker training puppies and experience taking care of senior dogs. I am more experienced with small to medium sized dogs. I am home 90% of the week so I have plenty of time to care for animals. I love to take walks and grooming dogs. “Kevin had a great stay! Charisse was kind, reliable, and kept us updated every day with photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind. It was clear Kevin was happy and well cared for. Highly recommend her and would definitely book again! 🐾”

“Brookette is fabulous! You will not be able to find any one as caring, conscientious, and talented as she is. She's a truly charming person who stays in close contact with you and follows through with any requests. I have used Rover many times and I can say that Brookette is at the very top of my "go to" list. She's going to be a terrific Veterinarian!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Honolulu
Cassie and Merit were incredible. I boarded my dog with them while we were in the midst of moving off island. I had to handle our move alone with my 2 small children while my husband was deployed. It was such a relief knowing our dog was in good hands. Cassie even coordinated with our pet movers to have our dog picked up from her house to be taken to the airport. It was a high stress situation that required a lot of preparation/coordination and Cassie really came through for me. Cassie and merit are very professional and truly seem like they just love dogs.
Claudia is the absolute best! I’m not a huge paragraph writer so I’ll give bullets. - Phenomenal Communication - Pictures a-plenty - She has a very thoughtful and gentle method to introduce new cats to her home - Very loving and attentive caregiver, I would trust her with any of my pets - Her star rating and rave reviews are well deserved - I will not hesitate to reach out to her again to take care of my boy Thank you so much, Claudia!

I highly recommend Maple! She has watched our dog, Happy, several times now, and we couldn’t be happier with the care she provides. She’s incredibly attentive, kind, and treats Happy like her own. Every day she takes him on walks and fun adventures, and we love getting updates along the way. We always have complete peace of mind knowing Happy is in such caring and capable hands.

Khai was the best. She took excellent care of Moomin and went above and beyond consistently. She was flexible with pickup/drop off, and made sure Moomin was well taken care of. We’d recommend her to anyone. She gave us consistent updates and treated Moomin as her own.

Daisy continues to be the absolutely best sitter, going above and beyond in everything. We had some mishaps and delays in our travel schedule and Daisy was so flexible and accommodating. She regularly sent updates, photos, and videos every day. Luna can be shy and overstimulated in unfamiliar situations but Daisy clearly takes incredibly good care of her, making sure she is comfortable, healthy, and extremely loved. Luna is truly treated like a princess and any dog parent knows this takes time, attention, experience, and love. Thank you Daisy!!

Wow! Beth is literally the perfect match for our active pup! Una is 8 years old but full of energy. Beth took her on a 6-mile run every morning and played fetch with Una to her heart's content. We wish Beth lived on the island full-time so we could have Una stay with her more often!

Alessandra was an amazing pet sitter and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for our cat! She was incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our cat was happy and comfortable while we were away. Her picture updates gave us so much peace of mind, and it was clear she truly cared and treated our pet like her own. We are so grateful for the care and love she provided and would recommend Alessandra a million times over to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
