“Hugo had an amazing time. His first encounter to have a huge yard to play and explore. He definitely was spoiled. The family taking care of Hugo was awesome. They are trust worthy, under standing and accommodating . We also received daily updates and pics of Hugo’s progress which was really nice to get. We would definitely use them again and recommend his service .”

“Regis and his family was great with my young pup Nobu. Nobu has never been away from me for 16 months. They ensured a safe and comfortable environment for him with day to day updates. He ensured that my pup was taken cared of. Nobu is an anxious pup being never separated from me but Annikan and Frito Lay welcomed him intro there home and showed him love. I highly recommend Regis for your pups care. His family is loving and friendly and I assure you your pup will have a great stay with them. Thanks again Regis and family!”

“Cassandra was a great sitter - reliable, communicative and clearly cared about my pet. I got regular updates and came home to a happy, well cared for dog. Would definitely book her again.”

“Jacque is always pleasant and loving as evidenced by the videos she sends. Kanani never seems stressed after her stay there. And there are other dogs there to interact with, although Kanani is more of a loner. Highly recommend Jacque to care for your dog.”

“We booked with Khaled on somewhat short notice and also extended our trip a few days. He was responsive, flexible and accommodating from the start. For two and a half weeks Khaled provided frequent and consistent updates, sending multiple pictures and videos every day. We never had to wonder, let alone worry, about what our Cooper was up to. Cooper had a great time running and playing in their yard and cuddling and snoozing in their laps. We greatly appreciated Khaled’s care for Cooper as well as his communication with us!”

“Simeon was fantastic! He stepped in on short notice to care for our senior fur babies and handled their medications with ease. Communication was great. He kept us updated on everything, even when Oreo got sick. We really appreciated his honesty and attention to detail, as not all caregivers are as transparent. He also sent photos and made us feel completely at ease. Highly recommend!”

“Thank goodness for Andrea, who helped with boarding Alika after my heart procedure. I asked for a last minute request and she was able to help with that as well. Alika came back a happy dog, which tells me he had a good stay with Andrea. Appreciate all her help with Alika. When she picked him up he did not hesitate to jump in her car. He really loves his time with her when she comes and walks him as well. I will definitely use Andrea again.”

“We had a great experience with Karsyn and her husband! We have an elderly dog and I'm typically very wary about leaving her with anyone, but I never had any worries during her stay. They sent regular photos and updates, and it was clear our dog was happy and well cared for. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again!”

“So appreciative of Halina watching my cat Johnnie while I traveled. She put me at so much ease with it being my first long trip away from the island and made me feel like Johnnie would be loved and safe while gone, which she 110% was. Communication was super fast and always helpful and informative and Johnnie was always in good spirits in videos. I will certainly be booking again with her 😊”

“I really appreciated how understanding Haily was with my pup meeting her pups. After a little communication here and there, she was eager to have a meet and greet with my pup and hers. My bigger pup was a little shy and unsure about it at first meet. After he arrived for his week long stay, he started getting along better. She'd sent me evening updates about my pups wellbeing with text and pictures. With thise notifications, I was able to give some helpful ideas on how to get him to eat since he was feeling homesick. He did hurt his leg while he was there, but with him being very active, he just over extended his leg while playing, and she notified me and helped him out as best as possible. He's doing well now and glad his overall experience was a great one! I'm gonna choose Haily for our next pup-sitter, when the time comes!”

“Riley was such an awesome sitter, had to book a last minute reservation for 7 days and she was able to accomodate. She took great care of our dog and sent us updates while we were away.”

“Our Pelli had a great time with Stacey, her family and her two pups. She welcome our pup as one of her own. Lots of cuddles and a great fenced back yard, which our Pelli loves. Stacey sent photos often. I can reocmmend her without reservation.”

“Maile and her family were AMAZING! They all took such good care of Ridge and treated her like she was already a part of their family. She gave great picture and video updates. Ridge came back relaxed and happy and I am so grateful for that.”

About: I petsit frequently for family, friends and neighbors for weeks at a time in my home and their homes. I have years of experience around all kinds of different animals. I understand different personalities in pets and can work around them. I stay at home with my two kids, who love animals. My schedule is always open so I am able to follow a unique routine. I have a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys, energetic kids and two cats. One cat likes to play outside while the other stays inside. I have rooms set up in my home for animals who prefer to be by themselves.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for more than 20 years and have always been the person friends and family trust with their pets. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, ages, personalities, and energy levels, and I’m attentive to each dog’s individual routine and needs. I have a dog of my own, so I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone who is patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoys spending time with them. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your dog with the same care and attention I’d want for my own! My husband works from home and I work a few hours every day on campus, so someone is always here to keep an eye on the pups. We currently have a 7-year-old dog who is very gentle and loves canine company. We do multiple daily walks, scheduled feedings, and lots of snuggles! In my home, our lives revolve around our dog! It’s important to us to take walks out of the house, scheduled feedings, and playtime. We don’t have kids around, so we appreciate the energy and companionship of our dogs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Haleiwa
Lily was great and was very conscientious with Red. When I got home after a pretty long trip Red looked amazing and Lily had grown very fond of him. I would definitely trust her again to watch him and he’s a large German shepherd so not necessarily the easiest breed to handle. She did great

Nova was absolutely amazing watching my Husky pup! She sent daily pictures and updates, and even took him to my Vet when he needed to be seen! They took Koda on so many adventures and he was definitely well cared for during an extended stay. 100% recommend Nova for watching your pups for any duration! Will go out of her way to make sure your pup is loved and cared for as on of their own

Lexi was SO sweet!! It was my first rover, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Lexi made me feel at ease the whole time. My pup was a bit nervous with her dogs at first, but she took extra care to go for walks with them together and spend extra time with my dog apart from the other two to help make her more comfortable. I also got some super cute picture updates which helped ease my mind too. When I came to pick up my pup the next day, she seemed like she almost didn’t want to leave, going up to give Lexi some extra petting time. Would absolutely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
