I provide gentle, calm care for pets, always tuning into their personality and comfort level. About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with pets taught me that every animal has a unique personality, needs patience, and deserves kindness and respect. Over the years, I've cared for dogs of all ages, including senior dogs who require extra patience, attention, and gentle care. Friends and family have also entrusted me to care for their pets while they're away, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. In addition to caring for dogs and cats, I volunteered at a farm animal sanctuary on Oʻahu, where I helped care for a variety of rescued animals. I’ve also help to fabricate and fit animals with prosthetic legs and braces from my work experience as a Clinical Prosthetist/Orthotist at UCLA Medical Center and Shriners Children’s Hospital in Honolulu. That experience reinforced my passion for animal welfare and deepened my appreciation for the trust and connection we share with animals. Whether we're going for a walk, playing fetch, relaxing at home, or simply keeping each other company, my goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you're away. I believe the best care comes from treating every pet like family. Currently working full time but am able to provide care and help on my off days. I work mostly early morning to mid day or mid day to evening. I’m happy to coordinate with your needs. I would gladly provide photos and video updates on your pet so that you can feel at ease about the care they are receiving. I am good with communicating and am happy to be accessible via text, phone call, or FaceTime while providing care for your pet.

Pets are also free to time the house.

You can tell how much she loves and cares for each pup she watches. Oakley loved his stay, and did not want to leave ? I will definitely book with Haily again!”

About: Having grown up with 4 dogs (border collie, golden doodle, brittany, and yorkie), it’s safe to say I have always loved animals. I have over 10 years of experience petsitting/housesitting in Chicago. I moved to the island 5 years ago and because I go back to visit family, I sadly haven’t been able to get a pet here. I miss having an animal around and will treat yours as if it were my own and am excited by the idea of getting to spend time with them. I am very attentive and patient, so I will make sure that your pet has everything they need and more. I have experience with puppies all the way up to senior dogs and have also cat sat as well in the past for various families. You can trust that your pet will be with a reliable sitter who creates a safe, comfortable environment with personalized attention to each pet. I am home for the majority of the week and am able to stop by your house, take your pet outside, or take them to my house. I am fairly flexible and able to work with your schedule. I am very respectful of other's homes and of their routines. I try to keep the animals as comfortable as possible by continuing to care for them just as you would.

“Mari was great with our dog. She sent updates and pictures while we were away. She took extra steps on planning what she will do in case of approaching storm. It made me more confident to go on our family trip. I highly recommend her and appreciate her.”

“Joel is the best, and is my first choice to take care of my girl while I'm away. My dog is shy and takes time to warm up. Not only is he patient with her but takes her on multiple walks to help her get comfortable.”

“This is the second time using Keala she was just wonderful like the first time, we will continue leaving our girl with her when we go on a trip. Thank you for taking good care of Kyara!”

About: Throughout college I cared for many dogs for family, friends, and as a side gig. I am experienced in dog walking, feeding, oral medication administration, and light grooming. I always enjoy sending pictures of your pet to show what a great time we are having! As a stay at home mom, I have great flexibility. I would also like to share that I have two friendly dogs that are kennel and potty trained in our home and a two year old daughter. I am currently a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to walk dogs and do light care during the day. As for overnight care, we have two dogs that love pet friends as long as they are friendly and get along with others. We typically go to an on-leash park in the evenings and do outings on weekend mornings. We have two small, friendly dogs and a toddler that will keep your dog more than entertained! We have a small outdoor area for on-leash play and are a three minute drive to a big park/field where we have a good dog community. We want your dog to feel comfortable and happy during their stay so the first 24 hours is just about learning about your dog and gaining their trust!

I was sent daily pics and updates witch made me feel at ease while on vacation I highly recommend him as as a reliable sitter for your fur baby

Lauren and Dale watched Sora for us again, this time through Tropical Storm Lala. We’re so grateful to them for keeping her safe and secure and making her feel right at home. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing she was in such caring hands. We highly recommend them!

Krysta and Peter plus fam are truly wonderful! My sweet lab had such a warm and fun experience! He was well taken care of and their buys really had a blast with him between snuggles and special concerts just for him! They also kept him active playing fetch but also being careful to make sure he didn’t get to hit! It seemed like he was always with someone having fun! I was thinking when I came to pick him up he wouldn’t even want to come back home with me! Would definitely use them again!
Jessica did a great job taking care of our pup. With daily updates and photos we were able to enjoy our trip knowing she was well taken care of. She went out of her way to help in an unexpected situation. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take great care of their fur baby.

Halina was so friendly, professional, and competent. We were having repairs done to our home and told our cat Pearl could remain, and then without warning we needed to find somewhere else for her to go. It was extremely stressful, and we’re so very greatful that Halina responded and was able to care for Pearl. She offered updates/videos as often as we wanted (we’d asked for once a day) and were kept informed. I can tell Pearl got the loving care she needed, and the home was set up nicely with the space and toys, including a nice window perch which she loved. Everything went so smoothly and relieved the stress of knowing our pet was well cared for! Highly recommend, and thanks again!

Our Duke had a blast at Tara’s! He was very nervous at first as he has separation anxiety in new places. Tara made him feel safe and at home right away. She gave daily updates along with super cute photos. We will definitely be using Tara in the future. She was the best sitter we have had!

We booked with Khaled on somewhat short notice and also extended our trip a few days. He was responsive, flexible and accommodating from the start. For two and a half weeks Khaled provided frequent and consistent updates, sending multiple pictures and videos every day. We never had to wonder, let alone worry, about what our Cooper was up to. Cooper had a great time running and playing in their yard and cuddling and snoozing in their laps. We greatly appreciated Khaled’s care for Cooper as well as his communication with us!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
