“2nd time I’ve used her and she did amazing! She was so considerate the entire time she had my boy and sent so many pictures of him being absolutely pampered!!! She literally made him a mini pancake, like I will 100% be keeping her around!! He came home yesterday and I’m not even kidding when I tell you he’s going through withdraw from being pampered with her!”

“Kate was absolutely amazing. This was my first time leaving my dog with a pet sitter. I had a sitter that cancelled st the last minute and then I found Kate (I could not be happier.) Even though this was last minute Kate took the time to come meet me and my dog. She was wonderful with my dog. I was gone for eight days and I came home to a happy and healthy dog. I would highly recommend. Thank you again. Kate.”

“I am so grateful for Kyrie. My pup gets so much love while staying at her place from her and her entire family. My pup got plenty of fetch time and ample cuddles. I'm so happy to be able to go out of town and not have to worry about my pup. Thank you for everything you do for my pup!”

“Paige is absolutely wonderful, her personality puts you at ease. She took good care of my fur baby and treated her as her own. Really appreciated the daily updates with pictures!!! My first time using Rover, and it was a very positive experience.”

“Hailey and Ben were lifesavers taking our pup last minute and was so sweet about changes in plans. Sent daily pics and took good care of Gordo pup! Thank you guys!”

“We had the best experience with Megan and her family taking care of our pup Margo! Margo got plenty of exercise and care while we were out of town. Megan was super communicative and flexible.”

“Makayla was absolutely awesome. Took our two cats last minute and took great care of them, gave them treats and the care they needed. Went above and beyond to make sure our family and our cats got what they needed, would do it again!”

“My dog stayed with Martha and her family for a few days while I was away. She took great care of him, and followed all the instructions I gave. I think he enjoyed it there more than being at home! I would highly recommend Martha to anyone in the area, and I will be using her services again.”

“At this point we joke that when Giz goes to Greg's house. That it's his vacation from us. He doesn't even look back when we drop him off. Might offer to share custody soon. In all seriousness, Greg has afforded us the ability to take trips again and know that without a shadow of a doubt that Giz is taken care off. He sends us action shots of the dogs and always gives us updates. We literally can not ask for more. He's the best.”

“Lily was great. I am glad we chose her to watch my dogs Maya and Evie. She sent me daily updates and pictures which I loved. Choosing a sitter can be stressful, but we certainly made the right choice with Lily.”

“Just had completed our first boarding experience with Tanya. We were beyond pleased with how Tanya and her family took care of precious pups. They took the time to find out our dogs likes and dislikes, took them on daily walks and made them part of their family. We loved the updates with pictures which definitely showed that our dogs felt comfortable with them and certainly were making themselves at home. We would highly recommend Tanya for your fur baby’s next boarding.”

“Simeon took amazing care of our pups! He was very responsive on the app and drop off/pick up was a cinch. Simeon provided regular updates and pictures/videos during our pups' stay. Highly recommended!”

“Stephanie took such good care of our girls while we were gone for a week! She was easy to communicate with and did a great job! Will definitely use her again”

“The love and detailed attention that was given to our Lethy cannot be measured by words. You won’t regret booking with Theresa. Your dog is in good hands. 💕👊🏽”

“Malu was amazing. She responded quick to my request to watch my dog last minute. My dog loved Malu’s back yard and made friends with other dogs there. The location was perfect as we were on our way to the airport from the north shore. I will continue to have Malu watch our dog, bear, anytime. Mahalo.”

“Maile and her family were AMAZING! They all took such good care of Ridge and treated her like she was already a part of their family. She gave great picture and video updates. Ridge came back relaxed and happy and I am so grateful for that.”

“Danica is great, she took care of my Tamago like her own. Daily multiple updates and lots of snuggles for my kid. Couldn’t be happier to have left Tamago in her care.”

“A great sitter! Very willing to accommodate and I had zero worries about my dog while we were away. She gave consistent updates as well, which I really appreciated. For a timid dog, he adjusted to boarding with her better than I expected. I’d certainly look for her name again for my next booking. :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Waialua
Lily was great and was very conscientious with Red. When I got home after a pretty long trip Red looked amazing and Lily had grown very fond of him. I would definitely trust her again to watch him and he’s a large German shepherd so not necessarily the easiest breed to handle. She did great

Nova was absolutely amazing watching my Husky pup! She sent daily pictures and updates, and even took him to my Vet when he needed to be seen! They took Koda on so many adventures and he was definitely well cared for during an extended stay. 100% recommend Nova for watching your pups for any duration! Will go out of her way to make sure your pup is loved and cared for as on of their own

Lexi was SO sweet!! It was my first rover, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Lexi made me feel at ease the whole time. My pup was a bit nervous with her dogs at first, but she took extra care to go for walks with them together and spend extra time with my dog apart from the other two to help make her more comfortable. I also got some super cute picture updates which helped ease my mind too. When I came to pick up my pup the next day, she seemed like she almost didn’t want to leave, going up to give Lexi some extra petting time. Would absolutely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
