“This was our first time using Rover, and we had a great experience working with Kyrie. She took good care of our dog and I could tell he was so happy and loved with her. She sent us pictures and videos of him having so much fun with her and her family. There was lots of fetch, adventures, and even a bath. We highly recommend her services and are already planning on booking future stays with her soon!”

“Rieko was absolutely fantastic, and I would gladly board my dogs with her again. One of my dogs struggles with separation anxiety, so we were quite concerned about leaving her. However, she seemed to have such a wonderful time that we weren't sure if she wanted to come home with us! When I pick up my dogs after a trip, I can always tell how well they were cared for, and both of them were just so happy and in a great mental state. Thank you, Rieko, for taking such excellent care of Juneau and Sitka!”

“Brandon and Faith were amazing! They watched our husky overnight. They responded very quickly to texts, kept us updated on how our pup was doing, and overall went above and beyond!”

“Excellent sitter. I was a little worried because our puppy has never had someone else watch her and can be quite guarded with other pets & people but she was an excellent sitter and even got our dog to open up to her after a little bit. Would definitely recommend and book again. Thank you.”

“Paige and her husband did a great job making sure my very shy cat was comfortable during the week I was gone. She was very responsive in updating me when I asked about my cat. 👍👍👍”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life. I’m currently a dog groomer, and I absolutely love my job! I have 2 dogs, Chowder and Rascal (mini Aussies). Although I am located in Waianae, I am willing to drive all over the island. My dog grooming studio is at my house, so I’m home most of the day. When I have multiple boarders I like to rotate them in the yard throughout the day. I have a kiddie pool as well that most dogs enjoy. I have a fenced yard and sturdy gates to keep everyone safe. I typically like to keep boarders from different families separate. If you’re comfortable with your dog being with others dogs, they will only play supervised to avoid any skirmishes. My Aussies are friendly but I only let them socialize if you’re ok with it.
“Tanya and her family took great care of our dogs! They are super friendly and welcoming and have made their home into a safe, comfortable, and fun place for pets to stay. They were very communicative, sending pictures and updates throughout the day, and are very thoughtful about giving your pets all the love and care that they deserve while you are away.”

About: Trained with large dogs and no problems with little ones. I’ve cared for cats, birds, reptiles and more. I love taking walks and playing fetch. I also know how to give medications and care for elderly dogs as well. I love animals, especially dogs and appreciate being able to help them. I’m available daily for walks, feeding or check in’s every day of the week. I have a decently sized yard that is totally fenced in, even for little dogs. I have an attached garage as well as numerous baby gates. I have my own vehicle and I’m skilled at caring for others homes as well.

“Makayla was absolutely wonderful with Huey! From the moment I booked, her communication was exactly what every pet parent hopes for when leaving their dog in someone else’s care. She sent regular updates and photos, asked thoughtful questions whenever she needed clarification, and was proactive about sharing any concerns related to his care. I booked on very short notice and still received top-tier service. It was clear that Makayla genuinely cared about Huey’s comfort, safety, and well-being. Knowing he was in such kind and capable hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I trust Makayla completely with my fur babies and wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and compassionate pet sitter!”

About: I’ve only had dogs as my pets for the last 9 years. I have a yorkie. I watch and learn from the little experience I have what works and what doesn’t. That’s all I can do. I am currently a student M-F (online) mostly in the evenings. My weekend usually includes being around the house Friday-Sunday. I am mostly a homebody. I have a fence in yard for run and play and time indoors that is hazard free and cordoned off from the stairs/2nd floor. My neighborhood is a very safe area to take dogs for a walk.
“Great pawsitters! My furbabies had an excellent time with them and their furbabies. The daily updates with lots of photos gave me peace of mind that my doggies were in good hands while I was away. I am happy to have found a new sitter and will be booking with them the next time I go out of town.”

“Theresa was a great dog sitter! She gave my dog plenty of TLC and gives the best daily updates on how your pet is doing:). I would highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 7 years old and have grown up in a home filled with all types of animals, giving me lifelong hands-on experience with pets of all kinds. I have 5 rescues dogs that make up one family. I work full-time during the day, but my evenings and weekends are dedicated to spending quality time with pets. I’m available after 530pm and on long weekends, and I always make sure they get the attention, play, walks, and care they deserve. If you dog is a bed sleeper, no problem. I have a HUGE fenced yard and 5 friendly rescue dogs that I've had since puppies to keep your fur baby company. I can also crate your dog if needed.
“Robin and her husband were amazing with my dog! Although she was a little sad we had to leave, she eventually felt right at home shortly after. They took her on walks, played with her, let her cuddle with them, they went above and beyond! They sent pictures of her frequently. When we came to pick up my dog, she continued to lay next to the both of them, I know she was so loved while we were gone. Definitely recommend!!”

“Carolina and her family took exceptional care of my baby boy, Vinny, treating him like part of their own family. Their warmth, love, and attention gave me complete peace of mind during an unexpected trip. I highly recommend her and will absolutely trust her with Vinny again in the future. Mahalo!”

“Senne did a great job! She gave me lots of updates throughout my trip and made sure my dog was taking her medication properly. She took her on walks and gave her lots of attention so she wouldn’t have bad separation anxiety. I appreciate all the love she gave her and giving me piece of mind with her thorough communication.”

“Maluhia was very responsive and super considerate. She was able to accommodate my Bruce on short notice it was very flexible. She sent me regular updates and Bruce seemed to have a really great time. I definitely recommend.”

“Brianda took great care of our dogs and we felt so at ease the whole time. She was especially understanding of our younger dog that we are still working on training out of certain habits. She also sent pictures multiple times a day.”

“We had a great experience and our fur babies did too! Just a pleasant sitter all around! During our trip, she made sure to send us a lot of vids and pics to keep our minds at ease. We will be using her services again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Waialua
Lily was great and was very conscientious with Red. When I got home after a pretty long trip Red looked amazing and Lily had grown very fond of him. I would definitely trust her again to watch him and he’s a large German shepherd so not necessarily the easiest breed to handle. She did great

Nova was absolutely amazing watching my Husky pup! She sent daily pictures and updates, and even took him to my Vet when he needed to be seen! They took Koda on so many adventures and he was definitely well cared for during an extended stay. 100% recommend Nova for watching your pups for any duration! Will go out of her way to make sure your pup is loved and cared for as on of their own

Lexi was SO sweet!! It was my first rover, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Lexi made me feel at ease the whole time. My pup was a bit nervous with her dogs at first, but she took extra care to go for walks with them together and spend extra time with my dog apart from the other two to help make her more comfortable. I also got some super cute picture updates which helped ease my mind too. When I came to pick up my pup the next day, she seemed like she almost didn’t want to leave, going up to give Lexi some extra petting time. Would absolutely use her again.

The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
