About: I have 3 littles ranging ages 6 and under. We also have our fur baby (mini schnauzer; 7 years old) who was the first one to join the family! I grew up with dogs (German Shepherds and Labrador Retrievers) all of my life. I have experience caring for and loving all sizes (big and small). We give our puppy walks and ball tosses at the dog park in Kailua near Kawainui Marsh. I also go on weekly stroller runs and can take your dog for a jog if your dog loves movement and has an active lifestyle like our ohana! I am holistic minded from a nutritional standpoint and take the same approach in mind for our dog in that he eats clean, wholesome foods, so that he is healthy and well. I will care for your dog like my own! I am a stay-at-home mama and I would love to help you walk your dog and give them some play time outdoors with my dog! I am also happy to board your friendly pup at my home if your fur baby is potty trained and socialized with kids and another dog. We have a fenced in back yard. Morning sunshine during Monday–Friday is preferred. I have a fenced in yard for my dog and yours to play safely. We have a safe cul de sac for leashed walks while I take our kids outside to play and ride bikes as well. We take walks to the Kawainui Marsh weekly and take our dog along with us… and we will stop at the dog park to throw the ball around for our pup.
“Tara did a great job watching Kiwi. Kiwi is a high energy Australian cattle dog. She took her on walks and played ball and rope with her. She also had Kiwi not only tolerating her cats, but playing with them and going for walks with them! Great job Tara.”

“Our cat had an excellent experience while boarding with Alexis! She provided regular updates with photos and videos, and we felt assured that our cat was in loving and capable hands. We returned to a happy and well-cared-for cat. Highly recommended!”

“My lab had so much fun at her house and came home happy and tired after the weekend. Samantha kept me updated with photos and even took the extra care to reach out to me about my dog's allergies. Drop off/pick up was easy as well. I would 100% recommend her!”

“We trusted Sis and her husband right away! It was immediately apparent they were dog lovers, and their calm and caring demeanor put us and our dog Oreo at ease. Oreo has special needs, and they asked all the appropriate questions to make sure they could manage her care. They have a beautiful home and great outdoor spaces for the dogs to roam. Oreo had a great time with them and their dogs. Thank you Sis and Russ for taking such good care of Oreo!”

“I really appreciated how understanding Haily was with my pup meeting her pups. After a little communication here and there, she was eager to have a meet and greet with my pup and hers. My bigger pup was a little shy and unsure about it at first meet. After he arrived for his week long stay, he started getting along better. She'd sent me evening updates about my pups wellbeing with text and pictures. With thise notifications, I was able to give some helpful ideas on how to get him to eat since he was feeling homesick. He did hurt his leg while he was there, but with him being very active, he just over extended his leg while playing, and she notified me and helped him out as best as possible. He's doing well now and glad his overall experience was a great one! I'm gonna choose Haily for our next pup-sitter, when the time comes!”

“Always appreciate having Naudia available to watch Gari for us. Gari is always so excited to see her so we know she has a great experience every time! Love the daily photo updates and care that is provided when watching our fur baby.”

“Honestly, we think Bo was on more of a vacation than we were!! Diana did such a great job with Bo…took him on walks, played catch and took him to the dog park where he made some new friends! She was also able to capture all of his adventures and sent us daily videos and pictures!! She was always in communication with us and we will absolutely use her again!!”

“Carley is amazing! From the beginning, she communicated quickly and was extremely accommodating. Our Benny looked very content, calm, and welcomed. Carlee updated us with pictures throughout his 2 night stay. Will definitely call upon Carlee again!”

“Greg is really good with communication. He sent many pictures, left comments and answered my question while we were away for vacation. He took great care of my dog Coco. He looked happy in the pics, especially with Zephyr! Coco came back home same as before. Thank you Greg for taking care of Coco for such a long time!”

“Charisse did a wonderful job caring for my senior dog for 4 nights. He has separation anxiety, but someone was always home which kept him happy while we were gone. Good communication. Highly recommend.”

“Fumie was absolutely amazing! This is my first time using a dog sitting service and Fumie took such good care of Mochi! She sent me pictures and videos twice a day! She totally calmed my nerves and I could relax that Mochi was in good hands.”

“Alexandra is an amazing pet sitter! Our boy Mako really seemed to have enjoyed his 2 night stay with her. She communicated with us so well both before and throughout the stay, which made us feel confident and relieved that we found someone who we can trust. She will definitely be the one we can go to for our upcoming trip - we know Mako will feel safe in her good care!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Waimanalo
We had a great experience! She took wonderful care of Bear while we were away and kept us updated with messages and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. She was attentive, communicative, and genuinely cared about making sure he was comfortable. Even with him being a little shy at first, she was patient and helped him settle in. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!

Our Duke had a blast at Tara’s! He was very nervous at first as he has separation anxiety in new places. Tara made him feel safe and at home right away. She gave daily updates along with super cute photos. We will definitely be using Tara in the future. She was the best sitter we have had!

We booked with Khaled on somewhat short notice and also extended our trip a few days. He was responsive, flexible and accommodating from the start. For two and a half weeks Khaled provided frequent and consistent updates, sending multiple pictures and videos every day. We never had to wonder, let alone worry, about what our Cooper was up to. Cooper had a great time running and playing in their yard and cuddling and snoozing in their laps. We greatly appreciated Khaled’s care for Cooper as well as his communication with us!

She incredibly took care of my pup. Her husband works from home, so they both watched, and took my dog to hiking, beach and park while short stay. She sent me pictures and videos all these activities, and I see my pup is enjoying with them so much!! Thank you so much for nice, comforting and activities for my girl. I want to give the ten stars⭐️

Sara was a God sent! She is so kind and made me feel comfortable and assured me that my Brody was going to be ok. I felt like I was leaving him in great hands. She sent pictures everyday and she was accommodating when I needed to extend my trip. Brody isn’t the easiest boy at times, so I’m so thankful and grateful for her and her family taking him in. 🥹

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
