“Bryanna was amazing with our large black lab. We really appreciated her help with drop in visits and I highly recommend reaching out to her if she is available.”

“I am so happy to have found Alice! She made the time to meet my two cats and they love her!! She managed to make my shy boy feel comfortable and safe, as he is easily distracted and afraid of strangers. She asked for clarification and suggestions on how to feed them, given my girl is hungry all the time and my boy is not food motivated at all. Alice helped me modify my Rover request to add a visit. I'm so thankful to have been able to leave my cats in her care. I will definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Allison is my favorite person that I’ve had take care of my puppy. She was always on time, sent lots of photos, and my puppy was always happy when I got back. I hope to use her again very soon!”

“Kalyn was absolutely wonderful with my high energy, anxious dog! Communication was great, she was timely with her check-ins and sent many pictures so I could tell Cleo was a happy camper! She even offered to get her out of the house and took her to her son’s baseball game, which was greatly appreciated and above and beyond! I would not hesitate to use Kalyn again!”

“Julie was truly a great pet sitter, she loves animals and it showed in her desire to make sure our cat Misty knew who she was and that she was there to care for her. We hope to hire Julie again for our next trip.”

About: Lifelong dog lover with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, including large breeds. I recently lost a beloved family dog in Japan, which deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, attentive care for animals. Although I do not currently have a pet of my own, I stay closely connected to animals through volunteering at the humane society, where I help care for and socialize dogs of different temperaments and needs. I am active, reliable, and very attentive to each animal’s individual personality and routine. I enjoy providing safe, loving care, regular exercise, and meaningful companionship tailored to each dog’s needs—whether that means calm indoor time, structured walks, or active outdoor time for more energetic dogs. I work mostly remotely, so I’m home the majority of the day and can provide consistent care and attention. I do have occasional appointments, but I plan my schedule to ensure pets are always checked on and cared for regularly. I’m also very active and enjoy hiking and outdoor time, so I’m happy to include pets who enjoy walks, exercise, and being out and about. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs and routine. I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care or medications. In the home, I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and not alone for long periods, giving them consistent companionship and supervision. I keep the environment clean, calm, and stress-free, and I’m very respectful of the client’s home, treating it with care as if it were my own.
About: What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve grown up caring for Labs, Rottweilers, Chihuahuas, Border Collies, Huskies, and a Mini Goldendoodle — so I understand everything from high-energy working breeds to small companion dogs. When I was 14 years old, I became the primary caregiver for my Chihuahua, who was under a year old when we brought her home. I cared for her throughout her entire life, including providing attentive, compassionate senior care as her needs changed in her later years. That experience taught me responsibility, patience, and how to adjust care as dogs age. I’ve also cared for an energetic Husky, so I’m very comfortable with active dogs who need structured exercise and mental stimulation. I raised my Mini Goldendoodle from 6 weeks old and handled all of her training, so I’m confident working with puppies and reinforcing good habits. I truly believe dogs deserve an enriching life beyond the home. I love beach walks and hikes, and I tailor each outing to match a dog’s energy level and personality. While dogs may be part of our world, to them we are their whole world — and I care for every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I work remotely from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Being home throughout the day allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and attention for dogs in my care. During working hours, I’m available for shorter walks (up to 30 minutes), drop-ins, and in-home care. My meeting schedule varies day to day, so timing during work hours will need flexibility, but I always communicate clearly to coordinate a time that works best. After 3:00 PM, I have full availability for longer walks, outings, and dedicated time with your dog. In My Home: Dogs staying with me have access to my office/guest room, the main living areas, and a fully fenced backyard at all times. Because I work remotely from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, I’m home throughout the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and attention. Dogs are never isolated and can stay near me while I work, helping them feel comfortable and secure. They’ll also have the opportunity to play with my docile and friendly Mini Goldendoodle, Nova, who loves having company. Of course, I always prioritize safe, positive introductions and will separate dogs if needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I provide regular walks, playtime, and enrichment based on each dog’s energy level — whether that’s relaxed outdoor time or more active exercise. I follow feeding schedules, routines, and any specific care instructions closely to make the transition from your home to mine as smooth as possible. Drop-In Visits (Client’s Home): For drop-ins, I focus on keeping your dog’s routine consistent in their familiar environment. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and lots of attention. I always respect your home and leave it exactly as I found it, and I provide updates so you feel confident your pet is in good hands.

About: Hello! My name is Erin. I am so excited to start this new adventure of making my love for animals a job! I have experience with pet sitting and walking dogs for 20 years. I've had my own animals to love and care for since I was just a little girl. My husband and I had a rescue Bassett Hound for 12 years, and now have a fun and friendly rescue cat named Noonie, and a happy-go-lucky basset hound named Rigby. I would love to share my passion of walking and hiking with your dog for some exercise. I will always treat your pet with the love and respect that you would give them. I am available now! So does your pet need some love, company and some fun?! Then please message me whenever you are in need of compassionate care for your fur-baby!

About: I'm amazing with animals. (Dogs specifically.) I can say this confidently, because I'm able to understand and reciprocate communication without a single word being used. I've been attacked before, and stayed because I understand that misbehavior probably has a deeper issue than just wanting to cause pain. - Simply put. I love seeing animals happy within a loving environment. But enough with the bragging and sob stories.😂 If you need a walker, a babysitter, or someone to love the bad behavior out of your furbaby, please reach out! I have 100% open availability. I'm currently working on breaking into the freelance lifestyle, so my flexibility allows for last-minute changes and needs! Open to all days and times! I live in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful but unfenced yard. Your place is honestly (probably) better than mine. I'm a single independent woman with both professional and personal references - can be available to sit at the owner's location with ease of mind guaranteed!
“Eugene was great! He came over to check in before we left to go over the routine and he did a great job checking in every day. Lots of pictures which was appreciated. He even spent the time to hunt down our shy cat everyday to make sure he was doing ok.”

“Arrabelle takes such good care of Rowdy. He is exhausted from his long walks and exploratory missions with her. She takes beautiful photos of him and shares them frequently.”

“Sarah was great! She sent pictures everyday she came to visit Blackie. Blackie likes to hide but Sarah had a Blackie sighting and was able to get a picture. She is friendly and I am looking forward to working with her in the future.”

“I had a very busy week and was delighted to find Karen to come relieve my pup and play with him once or twice a day. I could focus on my work and know Jasper was in good hands!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waimanalo
Alice took such good care of our babies. Was always communicative and asked a lot of clarifying questions. The pics we got every day was a huge comfort along with her detailed notes on how the day went for each of our 3 wildly differently aged and personality cats (3F, 6M, and 11F). Even when she had to navigate a moody personality (11F), she worked out solutions in ways that you can tell she has a kind and gentle heart who cares deeply for animals. She also stayed in communications even when we had trouble getting signal while away. She even went above and beyond on some of our instructions, to include taking out the trash at the end of her visit (thank you! you didn’t have to do that). Her personal touch of leaving us behind treats, polaroid pics, and a cute letter was very nice and brought even more warmth and comfort to us when we got home. Thank you Alice for taking care of our babies. We never had to worry about their well-being and we found them happy and content when we got home from our 2-week vacation. We would def hire her again.
I can’t sing Leilani and Luke’s praises enough—there’s a reason they are so highly rated. This was our first time booking them and they were absolutely excellent. We have two cats, one of whom is a senior and requires medication twice a day, and they handled everything with such care and professionalism. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish. They met with me before our vacation, were incredibly responsive the entire time, and were flexible and accommodating when our travel plans changed. Both Leilani and Luke are kind, polite, and genuinely caring people. It’s always hard to leave our older cat, but having them care for her gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worry. We are so grateful for the love, attention, and care they gave both of our cats, and we will definitely be booking them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waimanalo. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
