“We have had Katie drop in a few different times now and we absolutely adore her, as does our lil fur baby. She's reliable, responsible, quick to get back to requests, and this time in particular she was able to take care of our dog last minute. We are so grateful! We know you and Kanoa love each other which is so precious.”

“Bryanna was amazing with our large black lab. We really appreciated her help with drop in visits and I highly recommend reaching out to her if she is available.”

“I am so happy to have found Alice! She made the time to meet my two cats and they love her!! She managed to make my shy boy feel comfortable and safe, as he is easily distracted and afraid of strangers. She asked for clarification and suggestions on how to feed them, given my girl is hungry all the time and my boy is not food motivated at all. Alice helped me modify my Rover request to add a visit. I'm so thankful to have been able to leave my cats in her care. I will definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Andrea was wonderful. She took great care of our shy boy Julius and went above and beyond. We were so grateful to know we had someone kind, caring and responsible while we were away. We will definitely hire her again!”

“Lillian was amazing! Our two dogs were so well cared for and loved. She was thoughtful with updates and pictures, so we always knew how our dogs were each visit. She was also prompt with any communications, so we never had one moment of worry during our trip. I wish I had found her earlier. Thanks so much Lillian!”

In my experience I've worked to foster dogs, secure donations to foster, and helped find them new furever homes. I will be attentive to you pups needs and will give lots of belly rubs! I (Dale) have worked as a dog handler by trade, i love all dogs, and so do my kids. I would love to share my home with your fur babies! I (Lauren) have a few appointments for the kids here and there, school drop off and pickup and kid related activities. I am flexible and have great availability! I (Dale) work in the morning most days and and home between 8-10am so I have a ton of time to dedicate to our animal care Im available to pick up and drop off between 8am and 630pm. Rates will vary with distance and time of day. We live in a 4 bedroom, air conditioned home, with a gated fenced back yard and a spacious front yard for pets to play! We have a doggy door so there's easy access for the dogs to go out back and potty or play. If your dog is unfamiliar with doggy doors of course we will let them out and try and teach them how it works. Fetch and play are never ending with the pups that visit us! If we were to come to your home to care for your pet, we would respect the environment and take care that your pet feels safe. We take multiple dogs at a time! We do meet and greets to make sure they are a good fit around our family and will do well with other dogs.
“Allison is my favorite person that I’ve had take care of my puppy. She was always on time, sent lots of photos, and my puppy was always happy when I got back. I hope to use her again very soon!”

“We are so grateful that Julie and Peter were available to take care of our cat for almost a month! They are so compassionate and cared for our aging cat as we would do. We were out of the country so communication was tricky but they didn't miss a beat and took care of things when we were not available to assist. I highly recommend them both if you have any concerns about leaving your fur baby with a stranger. I promise you, your fur baby will love them too!”

“I highly recommend Kalyn for anyone needing dependable care. She was professional, trustworthy, and followed all instructions perfectly. My cat requires oral medication, and she administered it without any issues or stress. Her communication was consistent and clear throughout the process. I felt very comfortable leaving my pet in her hands. We will rebook in the future.”

About: Lifelong dog lover with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, including large breeds. I recently lost a beloved family dog in Japan, which deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, attentive care for animals. Although I do not currently have a pet of my own, I stay closely connected to animals through volunteering at the humane society, where I help care for and socialize dogs of different temperaments and needs. I am active, reliable, and very attentive to each animal’s individual personality and routine. I enjoy providing safe, loving care, regular exercise, and meaningful companionship tailored to each dog’s needs—whether that means calm indoor time, structured walks, or active outdoor time for more energetic dogs. I work mostly remotely, so I’m home the majority of the day and can provide consistent care and attention. I do have occasional appointments, but I plan my schedule to ensure pets are always checked on and cared for regularly. I’m also very active and enjoy hiking and outdoor time, so I’m happy to include pets who enjoy walks, exercise, and being out and about. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs and routine. I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care or medications. In the home, I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and not alone for long periods, giving them consistent companionship and supervision. I keep the environment clean, calm, and stress-free, and I’m very respectful of the client’s home, treating it with care as if it were my own.
“Jessica was excellent and took great care of my dog. Reliable and very communicative - she kept me posted on all of her at home visits. Highly recommend her!”

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong, hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I’ve grown up caring for Labs, Rottweilers, Chihuahuas, Border Collies, Huskies, and a Mini Goldendoodle — so I understand everything from high-energy working breeds to small companion dogs. When I was 14 years old, I became the primary caregiver for my Chihuahua, who was under a year old when we brought her home. I cared for her throughout her entire life, including providing attentive, compassionate senior care as her needs changed in her later years. That experience taught me responsibility, patience, and how to adjust care as dogs age. I’ve also cared for an energetic Husky, so I’m very comfortable with active dogs who need structured exercise and mental stimulation. I raised my Mini Goldendoodle from 6 weeks old and handled all of her training, so I’m confident working with puppies and reinforcing good habits. I truly believe dogs deserve an enriching life beyond the home. I love beach walks and hikes, and I tailor each outing to match a dog’s energy level and personality. While dogs may be part of our world, to them we are their whole world — and I care for every dog as if they were my own. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I work remotely from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Being home throughout the day allows me to provide consistent supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and attention for dogs in my care. During working hours, I’m available for shorter walks (up to 30 minutes), drop-ins, and in-home care. My meeting schedule varies day to day, so timing during work hours will need flexibility, but I always communicate clearly to coordinate a time that works best. After 3:00 PM, I have full availability for longer walks, outings, and dedicated time with your dog. In My Home: Dogs staying with me have access to my office/guest room, the main living areas, and a fully fenced backyard at all times. Because I work remotely from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, I’m home throughout the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and attention. Dogs are never isolated and can stay near me while I work, helping them feel comfortable and secure. They’ll also have the opportunity to play with my docile and friendly Mini Goldendoodle, Nova, who loves having company. Of course, I always prioritize safe, positive introductions and will separate dogs if needed to ensure everyone feels comfortable. I provide regular walks, playtime, and enrichment based on each dog’s energy level — whether that’s relaxed outdoor time or more active exercise. I follow feeding schedules, routines, and any specific care instructions closely to make the transition from your home to mine as smooth as possible. Drop-In Visits (Client’s Home): For drop-ins, I focus on keeping your dog’s routine consistent in their familiar environment. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and lots of attention. I always respect your home and leave it exactly as I found it, and I provide updates so you feel confident your pet is in good hands.
“Alyssa did such an amazing job with our young and energetic puppy who is still potty training!!! She takes the time to play with him and get out all of his zoomies while my husband and I are at work! We’re so thankful!”

About: I'm amazing with animals. (Dogs specifically.) I can say this confidently, because I'm able to understand and reciprocate communication without a single word being used. I've been attacked before, and stayed because I understand that misbehavior probably has a deeper issue than just wanting to cause pain. - Simply put. But enough with the bragging and sob stories.😂 If you need a walker, a babysitter, or someone to love the bad behavior out of your furbaby, please reach out! I have 100% open availability. I'm currently working on breaking into the freelance lifestyle, so my flexibility allows for last-minute changes and needs! Open to all days and times! I live in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful but unfenced yard. Your place is honestly (probably) better than mine. I'm a single independent woman with both professional and personal references - can be available to sit at the owner's location with ease of mind guaranteed!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Waimanalo
Last night, Lehua (Ingrid) came over for a night drop-in for the 1st time. She gave kind, supportive care to my elderly dog with diligent and respectful efforts. Upon my return, my dog was happily prancing around with a lot of energy! I feel that was because Willie received great care from Lehua, while I was away. I will continue to schedule appointments for Lehua to come over to help support me and my dog.

Alice took exceptional care of our cat Pua visiting her twice daily, always keeping us up to date with Pua with daily pictures and notations of how she was doing, and spoiling her above and beyond her usual quota of spoiling! The house was neat and tidy, cat bowls cleaned, and litter vacuumed up! I would highly reccommend Alice as she is very responsible and took excellent care of our cat. It was a relief knowing our cat was in her caring and loving hands! Thank you, Alice! Pua sends purrs and cuddles!

I can’t sing Leilani and Luke’s praises enough—there’s a reason they are so highly rated. This was our first time booking them and they were absolutely excellent. We have two cats, one of whom is a senior and requires medication twice a day, and they handled everything with such care and professionalism. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish. They met with me before our vacation, were incredibly responsive the entire time, and were flexible and accommodating when our travel plans changed. Both Leilani and Luke are kind, polite, and genuinely caring people. It’s always hard to leave our older cat, but having them care for her gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worry. We are so grateful for the love, attention, and care they gave both of our cats, and we will definitely be booking them again.

If I could give Alyssa more than 5 stars I would. I contacted her last minute to watch my dog for six days while I was gone on a work trip. The evening I was leaving I got home from work and noticed my dog showing symptoms of an ear infection but didn’t have time to get her into the vet before my flight. The next day when the symptoms remained, Alyssa took her to the vet for me and treated her ear the rest of the trip. My dog then got diarrhea the last day I was gone, and I was out of phone service, so Alyssa handled it. During her regular visits she seemed to take good care of my dog and dedicate the time towards her care and needs. I highly recommend her if you need someone to drop in to take care of your dog.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
