About: I grew up with pets and have always had a love for dogs. I hope to give the best care to anyone's family [pet]. I'm active and love the outdoors, so walking and hiking would be some daily activities for the dogs I spend time with. I know and understand the feelings of comfort you get from knowing your pet is being taken care of and feels just as at home with their caretaker as they do with family. I appreciate the hard work and time people put it not making their pets part of their family and their daily life. Its not every day you add a new family member, but it is a special one when you do. I’m trustworthy, determined, level headed, and I would be a great fit to take care of your dogs!
“Attentive, on time and dependable. Keala has cared for Kaikoa in multiple residences for us and always been 100%. She’s great and we are happy she’s on Rover. Mahalo Keala :) 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with a Maltese who was my best friend, and since then I've been the go to dog sitter for friends and family. I've cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, including Huskies, Border Collies, Poodles, Shiba Inus, and many more. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and tend to treat them like my own kids. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or keeping them company while you're away, I'll make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I work from home so I'm pretty flexible. The earlier we communicate the more flexibility I have. Typically more available in the afternoons and evenings I know leaving your dog with someone else can feel a little nerve wracking, so I'll do my best to make it easy for both you and your pup! Whether I'm stopping by for a visit, taking them on a walk, or staying overnight, I'll follow their usual routine and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, happy, and getting lots of love while you're away.
About: I’ve been at home with our new puppy for 8 weeks and love every part of it. I enjoy taking dogs for long walks while training them some cute commands and seeing my pup play with other dogs I only work 2 days in the week, so I have a lot of down time to hang out with my and other dogs 🐕 I live in a pet friendly apartment complex, with a dog park and hiking trails right by it. Our dog is very friendly and very playful
About: Proud stay-at-home dog dad. Experience with large and small and in between. Always happy to have new dog friends come and stay. Fun is important to us, but safety comes first. Always looking for study breaks to walk some beautiful pups! Studying full time for now, at home. Partner works full time. Primary caretaker for our two dogs - food, meds, walks. I am home all day, with transportation. For boarding, I will be in the house almost constantly. For my own dogs, I manage their medication and feeding. We walk several times a day and get out to the dog park or the beach every day.
“Victoria was prompt and friendly in her communication with us, and took great care of our cats! She provided very helpful updates and took some great photos, and was flexible when we needed to change our plans last minute. Would absolutely recommend Victoria, she was extremely helpful! =)”

About: From the first day I was born, I was surrounded by cocker spaniel puppies of my mother's. I was raised to care of different types of animals from dogs, cats, fish, turtle, bunnies, and mice! I have a great fondness and love for animals, especially dogs. We lost our 9 year old Maltese last August and would like to take care and provide some love for other dogs. I've house-sit/dog-sit my neighbor's black lab since 2008, and occasionally dog sit my friend's Australian Shepherd-Corgi mix puppy. I've also house-sit/dog-sit my coworkers black German Shepard several nights last year. I'm sometimes described as a dog whisperer, as dogs have had a natural fondness and friendliness with me. I have a night job as assistant manager/server in DT Bellevue, but morning and afternoon are wide open to take care of your furry companion.
About: Hi, I’m Lani! I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have been caring for them since I was a little girl. To me, dogs aren’t just pets—they’re family, and I treat every pup I care for with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I’m a proud dog mom to my fun-loving, friendly girl, Dreamy! She’s house-trained, sweet, and loves making new furry friends. 🐾 I’m especially excited to offer house sitting, where I can stay in your home and give your pets plenty of companionship, cuddles, playtime, walks, and attention while you’re away. I know how much peace of mind it can bring to know your pets are happy and comfortable in their own home—and I’m happy to help keep things running smoothly while you’re gone. I’m also available for dog walking and drop-in visits if your pup just needs some exercise, potty breaks, playtime, or a little extra love during the day. Whether your dog is energetic and ready for an adventure, a professional cuddler, or somewhere in between, I’d love to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. 🐕💛 I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family! 🏡 Work-From-Home & Flexible Schedule I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be around throughout the day. This is especially great for pets who enjoy having someone nearby for companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of love and attention. I’m available for overnight house sitting, dog walks, and drop-in visits, and I can work around your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. I love being able to provide a calm, comfortable environment where your pets can feel relaxed and cared for while you’re away. 🐾💛 I have a fenced and large back yard so there's plenty of room for your pup to run and play. I am also able to crate train if needed.

“We are so fortunate to have found Karen and Tony. They are amazing. The do what they say they will do, show up as scheduled, and upload photos. Our dogs are in great hands. It is so comforting to be on their team. It makes work travel easier, and reduces the dogs stress. Thanks so much ??????”

“Lee was amazing, I ran into a bind and it was last minute and she was available and willing to take care of my 10 chickens while I was on vacation. I always knew when she was at the house because she would check in and I would get a message telling me that she was there. She showed up every day and would sent me pictures of how the chickens were doing and that the food and water was full. I would definitely recommend her and would use here services again.”

“We love Adonyx! Our pup Rosie especially. It was so nice getting smiling, happy photos of her during their afternoon check-ins, and reassuring to know she was safe and well cared for in our absence. Highly recommend ❤️”

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds throughout my life. Within the past decade I have cared for those types of my family and friends' pets from pet sitting them at my place to overnight sitting at theirs, as well as my own cat, Pluto, for the the past 11 years. I am currently in school to be a counselor on Tuesdays and Thursdays and would like to use my Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and some Sundays helping people play or walk or spend quality time with their pets. For the past decade I have casually helped care for others' pets. The most involved care was a recent overnight-pet sitting for 15 days: Two adorable aussie shephards, which included all basic care (feeding, walking, playing ball, brushing, and washing) as well as taking one to weekly vet appointments.
About: I’ve always had multiple dogs growing up and once I got out of grad school, I decided to get a dog to call my own. But I tell everyone that she found me, not the other way around :) From walks, to dog parks, to hikes, and many more, I enjoy spending time with dogs and seeing them happily play with their friends (both new and old). I have experience caring for dogs who are sick or who may have some anxiety. With that, I’m big on taking photos of pets, so you’ll constantly receive updates from me. I work from home full time and am able to take fur friends out on walks throughout the day. My neighborhood is very dog friendly and there’s always a new dog on the block to make friends with. I recently lost my fur baby of 11 years. I work from home full time so I’m able to care for your pup depending on their needs and how often they need to walk/be outdoors. I still have three beds to choose from so your pup will also be able to choose from that selection.
“Rochelle is amazing and so helpful, kind, and understanding. So relieved and grateful that we met, and I feel completely at ease that she will be here with my girls while I’m away.”

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life and they are truly my passion. I care for their health and needs, possibly more than my own, and I will put in the same care and care into your fur babies! Connecting with each animal and earning their trust is my protocol first and foremost. I have a lot of experience caring for a wide range of pets, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors, and can provide personalized care while carefully following any instructions given. If you book with me I promise to earn you and your precious fur baby's trust! My schedule is very flexible as I work part-time remotely at the moment and I am also available on the weekends for any Rover bookings. At this time I do not offer pet sitting in my home but when in my client's home, my priority is providing a calm and safe space for the pets. I will follow all instructions given as well as any specific care instructions for those with special needs. My goal is to mimic the pet's normal routine as much as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I focus on building trust by respecting each pet’s comfort level and offering gentle, positive interactions while staying attentive to their needs. I also take safety seriously by securing doors and gates and closely supervising outdoor activities. My goal is to ensure every pet feels comfortable, secure, and well cared for just as they would at home with you!

I’d be more than happy to be of service. Much love & aloha ❤️ i typically work nights so I’d be spending all day with the sweet furry friend, and coming home no later than 2:30-3. I’m a big fan of taking cute pics and videos so be ready for some adorable photos :) Typically i communicate with the owners all safety and dietary requirements before each job <3 I love to know everyone’s specifications to their sweet furry pets needs :)

About: I’ve taken care of an 11 year old fur baby till her last breath and I am very patient with all the animals! I really don’t have special skills other than playing the ukulele for them and spending quality time :) Aloha! My name is Kapono. I am a huge dog lover who enjoys spending time with fur babies of all ages and personalities. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or just extra attention, I’m here to make sure they have a fun, safe, and a happy time! I recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and I have returned back home. I am a dog owner myself. I am patient, committed to keeping pet owners updated with photos and communication, and really enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality :)! I have a fenced yard with a grass area where dogs can explore around and/or use the potty. My house is ac so if needed, keep them cool :)!

About: Aloha! I’m Morgana, a longtime Oʻahu local, lifelong animal lover, and someone who’s generally happiest around animals, the ocean, or both! I have a degree in Marine Science from UH Mānoa and have spent years working and volunteering with animal care and conservation organizations here in Hawaiʻi and abroad. Animals have always been a big part of my life, whether they’re furry, feathered, or swimming in the ocean. I’ve also spent time working in a veterinary setting, which has taught me to pay attention to the little things, like changes in an animal’s behavior, appetite, or energy. Every pet has their own personality and routine, and I really enjoy getting to know what makes each one feel happy, safe, and comfortable. Outside of work, I’m a creative person who loves music, , hiking, and reading. I’m just as happy going for a nice walk as I am having a quiet evening at home with a furry companion curled up nearby. I’ve also spent years managing and caring for private homes also a prior Airbnb host/owner so I understand how important it is to feel comfortable with someone in your space. I’m tidy, respectful, communicative, and always try to leave everyplace I go a little better than I found it. One of my favorite things about pet sitting is getting to know each animal’s little quirks and building a relationship with them over time. Whether your pet is a cuddle bug, a playful goofball, or a slightly suspicious cat who needs a little time to warm up, I’m happy to meet them where they are and my goal is pretty simple: happy pets :) and owners who can enjoy their time away without worrying about what’s happening back home. And yes, I’m always happy to send photos and little updates along the way! 🐾 I work a hybrid schedule here in Honolulu, so my mornings, evenings, and weekends are when I have the most flexibility for pet care. I enjoy starting and ending my day with some fresh air, a walk, and a little animal companionship! Some days/weeks I have the ability to work remotely other times I will go into the office. For overnight stays, I’m happy to keep pets comfortable in their own home and maintain their usual feeding, walking, and bedtime routines. I know every animal has different needs, so I always like to chat with owners beforehand to make sure my schedule is a good fit. I’m especially happy to build ongoing relationships with local families and become a familiar, trusted face for their pets. I think the best pet-sitting relationships start with good communication and a little trust on both sides! I’m always happy to arrange a meet-and-greet in person or virtual before booking so we can get acquainted, go over expectations, and most importantly, make sure your pet feels comfortable with me. Being local to Oʻahu makes this especially easy, and I love having the opportunity to meet families in person. When staying in someone’s home, I’m mindful of their privacy, belongings, and household preferences. I like to ask questions upfront rather than make assumptions, whether that’s about visitors, household rules, emergency contacts, or your pet’s favorite hiding spot. I’m also a big believer in keeping owners in the loop. I’m happy to share little photo updates, funny moments, and reassurance that everything is going smoothly. My goal is for you to feel like you’ve left your home and furry family members with a trusted friend, not a stranger.
About: I’ve always been a responsible pet owner since I was little and have had numerous unique pets growing up. I love pet sitting, walking, and taking care of them all as if they were my own 🩷 I am currently a substitute teacher and have some extra time and days I don’t have work so I have free time for walks and cuddles. I have always prioritized safety in my different occupations doing security and corrections most of my life. I take pride in people’s trust in me in different ways.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kahaluu
Absolutely fantastic experience! She took excellent care of my cats and went above and beyond by vacuuming around the litter box and taking out the trash before leaving. It was such a nice surprise to come home to a clean house and happy pets. I really appreciated her attention to detail and the extra effort. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!
Colton was so great with Ash! I could tell Ash was really well cared for and comfortable with him, which gave us peace of mind. Colton was also really kind and communicative throughout and goes out of his way to perform any requested tasks. I’d definitely have him watch Ash again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
