About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats my whole life as I have had 4 dogs and 3 cats. I’ve been trusted to take care of other families pets when they are out of town as well. I love walking and being outside especially when I can be around animals. I’m currently a full time student at the University of Hawaii studying biochemistry, but still have plenty of time to hang out with pups and cats! I love walking and playing with dogs. I can adapt to any type/size of dog as I have had dogs of all sizes growing up.
“Caring and alert! Alyssa dealt with neighborhood problem dogs while taking great care of our dogs. She went above and beyond just letting our dogs out.”

“Jessica was excellent and took great care of my dog. Reliable and very communicative - she kept me posted on all of her at home visits. Highly recommend her!”

“Julie and Peter were fantastic cat sitters. Loki was well cared for, played with, cuddled, and their care and updates left me with peace of mind while I was away.”

“It's hard to put into words how kind and attentive Rebecca is. My old man is 16 but still loves his walks. Rebecca was so attentive and you could tell he was happy and felt safe when she would check in on him. I will continue to book with her until I leave Hawaii. She is also attentive the your home and things happening around and in the home. She let me know my electricity was out and gave me an update to ensure I knew Cooper was and would be ok until I got home. If I coudl give her 10 stars I would. Mahalo Rebecca, Cooper and I appreciate your experience and kindness more than you know.”

About: I have taken care of lots of pets since I was around 11. Friends and family have relied on me to watch their babies while on trips, or if they needed a day out! I have cared for dogs of different sizes and many breeds as well as cats and I’d be willing to learn to take care of others! I am currently a part time worker and work night times from 6:30pm, so I would have lots of time in the day to care for your animals! I can also do days I may not have on for availability as long as we communicated it. I can do any service until 5pm! Just message me about your needs and we can work through it! I am willing to learn how to cater to your pets needs and keeping the environment happy and the least stressful for your pets so they can be most comfortable while you are away!
“Victoria clearly loves dogs and interacted with Faustus<3! It has been really difficult to find a rover that puts in the actual time loving on him! She provided a descriptive report card and we appreciated it!! So far she has been one of the best rover’s we had dropping in and we will definitely use her again!! She also was able to do this very last minute! Thanks so much Victoria!!”

About: Hello! My name is Jasmine, I am a pet owner and have always been animal lover. Growing up on a small farm, I learned at a young age what proper animal care meant and the significance it holds. I have experience caring for a variety of animals ranging from: cats, dogs, birds, fish, chickens, ducks, frogs and rodents. I have over 6 years of experience in caring for people’s animals as well as my own. I am comfortable of my grooming, walking, feeding, playing with and bomding with your pets. I have been a volunteer at the SPCA and have participated in their pet care summer programs. I am an energetic undergraduate student with a flexible schedule and look forward to meeting your pets! Please feel free to contact me to discuss my services. I’m currently working part time which allows me plenty of time to play and care for your animal. Your pets needs are my priority and I am more than confident in my ability to fulfill those needs! I have a fenced in yard with lots of space to offer! I have a small dog who is very loving and playful that can be a companion to your dog!
“Dune has been loving Alyson's drop in visits to let him out during the day when we are working. She has great communication and sends lots of photos. She has good attention to detail and does more than asked, like checking his water bowl. Definitely recommend!”

About: Lifelong dog lover with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, including large breeds. I recently lost a beloved family dog in Japan, which deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, attentive care for animals. Although I do not currently have a pet of my own, I stay closely connected to animals through volunteering at the humane society, where I help care for and socialize dogs of different temperaments and needs. I am active, reliable, and very attentive to each animal’s individual personality and routine. I enjoy providing safe, loving care, regular exercise, and meaningful companionship tailored to each dog’s needs—whether that means calm indoor time, structured walks, or active outdoor time for more energetic dogs. I work mostly remotely, so I’m home the majority of the day and can provide consistent care and attention. I do have occasional appointments, but I plan my schedule to ensure pets are always checked on and cared for regularly. I’m also very active and enjoy hiking and outdoor time, so I’m happy to include pets who enjoy walks, exercise, and being out and about. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs and routine. I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care or medications. In the home, I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and not alone for long periods, giving them consistent companionship and supervision. I keep the environment clean, calm, and stress-free, and I’m very respectful of the client’s home, treating it with care as if it were my own.
“Mary-Ann was great. Attentive to each cats personality. Knew when to play and knew when they just needed love (lots of pets). She helped put our mind at ease while traveling.”

“We are so grateful for Laura. It is wonderful to have someone we trust to take care of our dog and cat so we don't have to worry when we need to be away. They are always very well taken care of! Can't recommend her enough!”

About: I’m a big animal lover and have had a dog for over 17 years and have cared for a variety of pets, including birds, cats, and guinea pigs. I’ve pet-sat (fed, bathed, walked) for close family and friends. I feel that our pets are like our ohana, and they deserve our love and attention 24/7. I currently work full-time but have been dog-walking and sitting for some time. I volunteered with cat rescue centers and adopted w of them. Although I work full time, I'm usually free on the weekends and weekdays available after 2 pm but flexible. Summers are very flexible as I’m off work. I’ll ensure your pet receives my attention and care in my care. I have 2 rescue cats that I adopted and a Maine Coon. I feed them wet food 2 x day and yummy snacks/treats, take them out the yard for walks with their body leash for some fresh air. They get a lot of love, cuddles and belly rubs. I love all animals & have treated all my feather and furry pets this way. I’m able to take your cat or dog out to a nearby park to walk or play with them wherever you feel they would like. I will provide all the TLC they deserve and treat them as if they’re my own.
About: Hi, I'm a remote worker who loves to travel and meet new people and pets. Recently, I have been spending more time in Hawaii, so I'm starting my Rover back up while I'm on island. I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and other pets. I've taken a training in dog body language from the humane society and am very detail oriented when it comes to following instructions for your pet's needs. I work remotely, which means more time at home caring for your dogs or cats. Feel free to reach out with any questions :) I'm happy to video call or meet in person with any potential clients to see if we'd be a good fit. I work from home on a flexible schedule, which means more time to give attention, pets, and walks to your furry loved ones. I'm happy to stick to your pet's preferred routine. Your pet will be my priority while I'm at your place. I'm also happy to tackle other responsibilities during a pet sit - picking up mail, taking out trash, etc., so that everything gets taken care of while you're away. Cleanliness will be a priority, and I always pick up after myself to leave a space exactly as I found it.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind for over 6 years! They bring me ultimate joy, so why not make it a full-time job? I currently do not work, rover is the only job I do full-time, so I am almost always available to dog sit. I love dogs, and would love to make yours apart of my weekly routine. I have a community dog park in my neighborhood that your dogs will love. I would take the pups out on walks (if it’s not too hot), or just snuggle them all day if that’s what they wanted. I would show them ultimate love and attention while they are in my care!

“We are so fortunate to have found Karen and Tony. They are amazing. The do what they say they will do, show up as scheduled, and upload photos. Our dogs are in great hands. It is so comforting to be on their team. It makes work travel easier, and reduces the dogs stress. Thanks so much ??????”

About: One-on-one, in-home dog boarding on Oahu for local dogs and dogs visiting the island. I care for just one dog, or two from the same household, at a time, with lots of hands-on time and attention throughout the day. Whether you live here or you're visiting Oahu with your dog, they won't be left to cope alone in a kennel or group setting. Days are active and hands-on: play, structure, and one-on-one attention, not hours in a crate. My fully fenced quarter-acre gives dogs room to run, sniff, and settle into a calm, predictable home routine. The result: steady, attentive care, so locals can travel and visitors can explore the island, without second-guessing where their dog is staying. I care for a blind and deaf dog for two hours daily. While I am out, your dog will be inside the home that was specifically created with your dog comfort. Each day follows a calm, structured rhythm based on the individual dog. Mornings begin with outdoor movement, followed by relaxed, unhurried meals. The day balances activity and rest, with space to move, play, and decompress, while gentle guidance is naturally integrated throughout. Evenings are calm and predictable, allowing each dog to fully settle in a safe, peaceful home with one-on-one attention..

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waimanalo Beach
I can’t sing Leilani and Luke’s praises enough—there’s a reason they are so highly rated. This was our first time booking them and they were absolutely excellent. We have two cats, one of whom is a senior and requires medication twice a day, and they handled everything with such care and professionalism. Their communication was outstanding from start to finish. They met with me before our vacation, were incredibly responsive the entire time, and were flexible and accommodating when our travel plans changed. Both Leilani and Luke are kind, polite, and genuinely caring people. It’s always hard to leave our older cat, but having them care for her gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our trip without worry. We are so grateful for the love, attention, and care they gave both of our cats, and we will definitely be booking them again.

I can't say enough how wonderful it's been to have Stacey looking after my fur babies. She is so patient with both my boys, especially my super shy little guy. Both clearly remembered her and Aero warmed up immediately. And by the end of our short trip, even shy Beau got comfortable enough to emerge from under the bed and peek out into the living room while Stacey was there. I'm so thankful to have found someone to give my boys loving attention whenever I have to be away from them. Peace of mind? Priceless!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waimanalo Beach. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
