Alice provided wonderful care to my dog and 2 cats. She went above and beyond from start to finish. The regular updates gave me complete peace of mind — it was clear our animals were happy, comfortable, and in great hands. She also treated my home with total respect. Everything was exactly as I left it when I returned. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. We will absolutely book her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring pet sitter.

About: Since childhood I've had pets of all shapes and sizes. Let me care for your pet as you would do. They are ohana and deserve the very best! I'm currently working part-time and am home for the majority of time most days. Occasionally I do have to go into the office for 4 hour periods. I will visit or stay with your pet in your home. I will walk them as requested. Provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day. Clean drinking water will always remain accessible, and the feeding schedule will follow your directions. Leave me with clear instructions and I will make sure that they are safe, comfortable and happy while you are away.

They also left our house SO clean. They really go above and beyond, and we are so grateful to have found them for future pet/house sits! Thank you, Sam & Solene! 🌺

About: I have grown up around dogs and love caring for animals. I am dependable, responsible, and enjoy spending time with pets whether that’s going on walks, playing, or relaxing at home. I’m a nursing student currently on break with extensive free time, so my schedule is very flexible. I do prefer weekday mornings for walks or sitting needs. I will only be able to care for pets at or out of client homes, making a point to follow any and all safety measures that align with each pet.

I came home to clean dishes and dog bowls which was nice after a long trip. This is my second time using her and will definitely rebook in the future. She is conscientious and responsible!

I am very appreciative that Karen was able to take over for another sitter. She was at a disadvantage because we did not get to meet before the stay started. So, she missed out on the intricate details of each dog and their behavior. But, she was caring and professional and did what was required. Also left the house so clean and even vacuumed! During the stay we gave her some tips to control one of our anxious dogs. She followed the instructions and made the rest of the visit much better. I would definitely recommend her.

About: Lifelong dog lover with experience caring for dogs of all sizes, including large breeds. I recently lost a beloved family dog in Japan, which deepened my appreciation for the importance of compassionate, attentive care for animals. Although I do not currently have a pet of my own, I stay closely connected to animals through volunteering at the humane society, where I help care for and socialize dogs of different temperaments and needs. I am active, reliable, and very attentive to each animal’s individual personality and routine. I enjoy providing safe, loving care, regular exercise, and meaningful companionship tailored to each dog’s needs—whether that means calm indoor time, structured walks, or active outdoor time for more energetic dogs. I work mostly remotely, so I’m home the majority of the day and can provide consistent care and attention. I do have occasional appointments, but I plan my schedule to ensure pets are always checked on and cared for regularly. I’m also very active and enjoy hiking and outdoor time, so I’m happy to include pets who enjoy walks, exercise, and being out and about. I provide attentive, reliable care tailored to each pet’s needs and routine. I follow all owner instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care or medications. In the home, I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and not alone for long periods, giving them consistent companionship and supervision. I keep the environment clean, calm, and stress-free, and I’m very respectful of the client’s home, treating it with care as if it were my own.

About: I grew up with Great Pyrenees, Great Pyrenees/Border Collie, Australian Shepards mixes. I've walked, fed, brushed and played with these big dogs for more than a decade. The two Great Pyrenees sisters I currently help take care of have matured from 4 month old puppies to elderly ladies. I'm quite used to the typical arm jerk or pull that is often associated with walking big, enthusiastic dogs. I work during the day, but generally am up quite early and thus would be able to walk dog(s) before work. I am also quite flexible in terms of where I stay on Oahu and thus can easily incorporate dog sitting into my weekly routine. Alternatively, I have cared for large breeds in their owners homes in San Diego. I am extremely respectful of folks homes and belongings both in the context of pet care, as well as through AirBnB.

Veronica was an absolute dream to work with! Our older pups started experiencing some random symptoms about a week before our trip to Japan and we contemplated cancelling the whole trip but Veronica gave us so much comfort and reassurance which also gave us peace of mind. We were in communication every day and she also sent pics/videos which was so calming for us. Normally we don't worry as much but our dogs are 16 and 13 years old but Veronica was very understanding and we cannot wait to work with her again. Thank you!

Mike took great care of my 3 French bulldogs and my apartment for a week while I was away for Thanksgiving. All my dogs are under 2 years old so I was nervous how they’d do as this was my first time away from them. Mike walked them 3x a day, kept them quiet, broke up scuffles over toys, sent me/my boyfriend pictures, etc. My landlords live right downstairs and also said Mike did a great job.

About: I’m great with all kinds of pets and genuinely love caring for animals. Your pet will be in the best hands while you’re away, whether you need dog sitting, pet sitting, house sitting, or just someone to stop by and check on your home and pets. I’m reliable, responsible, and very trustworthy, and I’ll make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always strive to give owners peace of mind while they’re away. Whether it’s overnight care, daily visits, walks, feeding, playtime, or home check-ins, you can count on me to provide dependable and attentive care. I am a nanny here and there for kids whenever the families need me so I have a lot of free time! I have nannied kids and animals when parents go out of town and they are all taken care of! I have one dog at home who is very old but I love her! I make sure she has food and water at all times! We have a doggy door so that is very helpful but she is old so sometimes I have to let her outside & in! When I am dog sitting I always take the dogs on walks throughout the day to use the bathroom if they don’t outside, I always spend at least 20 minutes throughout the day to play with the animal and make sure they are comfortable and loved on! Usually when I sleepover at people’s houses I let the animal sleep with me if it’s okay with the homeowners!

Seriously, the best dog sitter ever. My two GSD’s are not typical dogs. They like to bond with a person and enjoy lots of walks. VIctoria treated them like royalty, sent me a ton of pictures and walked the dogs several times a day. My house was clean when I got home and she had even washed and tied the sheets. I can’t say enough good things about her

Alyssa stayed with our two dogs for five days while we were out of town. Of course, both of them were having skin flare ups while we were away. FAQs for House Sitting - Waimanalo Beach

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Waimanalo Beach on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 1,005 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Waimanalo Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Waimanalo Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Waimanalo Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Waimanalo Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waimanalo Beach. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
