âSaved the day with a very last minute request, Phoebe took on to her right away, and I got great updates while at work! Would definitely request house sitting or visits again !â

About: I have always had an immense passion for animals ever since I was a young girl. Iâve owned different pets in my life including dogs, cats, birds, fishes, spiders etc. As I got older, I wanted to extend my career working with animals and worked at different animal hospitals and specialties. I care for all kinds of pets including young babies to lovely senior pets. Working with animals was the best decision Iâve ever made. I have plenty of experience and knowledge. I hope to hear from you soon and canât wait to meet your pets! I am available daily including weekends and holidays. My schedule is very flexible at the moment so I can tend to each and every one of your pets needs. I will respect your space and make sure your pet is happy. I know how important both your home and pet are to you. I provide a very loving environment for your pet and plenty of reassurance that both are safe in my hands. đ
âAna was so so sweet! She did an amazing job taking care of our pup! She gave us frequent updates, asked in depth questions about him and his routine, and followed his schedule perfectly! She left him fulfilled and happy. Will for sure book with her again if I need a sitter for sure she was the best!!!â

About: I've taken care of three cats since I was 10 and one dog for a short time. Been responsible for vet visits, bathing and feedings. I currently work till 4pm M-F so I'm looking forward to spending my afternoons interacting with your pets! Weekdays after 4pm and anytime on Saturday's and Sundays! I will follow any feeding, bathing, walking, etc. schedule provided by and in clients home. I can also help with crate or any additional trainings needed.
âThey were amazing with my dogs and super helpful and communicative. I was away across the country and I got messages and photos of my dogs and it made me feel much more comfortable leaving them. I will 100% rebook again.â

About: I grew up in a house that always had animals. Dogs, cats, and a stream of injured wildlife my dad brought home to nurse back to health, including a baby deer and a raccoon. We even had gerbils, hamsters, parakeets, and fish. Caring for animals has been part of daily life from the time I was born. Iâve lived with large breeds such as Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain Dogs; as well as energetic breeds like Australian Shepherds, Chows, and mixed breeds, so Iâm very comfortable with big dogs and strong personalities. Family members with smaller dogs regularly relied on me for care, and for the past ten years Iâve house- and dog-sat for an elderly family friend. Iâm attentive, patient, and observant, especially with animals that are nervous, aging, or need a calm presence. As a large, steady person, Iâm confident handling big dogs on walks and in new situations, and Iâm just as comfortable providing gentle, consistent care for smaller pets. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I structure my days from home. Iâm used to planning around feeding schedules, walks, litter care, and regular check-ins throughout the day. This allows me to be consistent, present, and flexible with visits, walks, or overnight stays, and to give pets real attention rather than rushing through care. I provide care in my clientâs home so pets can stay in the space they know. I follow their established routine closely with feeding, walks, litter care, medications if needed, and regular attention. I keep the home tidy, watch for behavior changes, and keep owners updated. With my own cats, I manage specialized diets, daily litter and cleaning, social time, and close observation of their health and behavior. Iâve cared for some of them from birth and have also supported pets through illness and end-of-life stages. That experience carries into how I care for every animal: patient, attentive, and respectful of their comfort and needs.
âAngelina was absolutely wonderful with my little dog, Peach. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and trustworthy hands. She was kind, attentive, patient, and treated him with genuine love and affection. Itâs not easy to leave your pet with someone else, but Angelina made the entire experience stress-free and reassuring. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I couldnât be more grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter. Thank you, Angelina, for taking such great care of my little boy! â¤ď¸â

âShhelby recently watched my dog when I was out of the country and did an amazing job. My dog was having tummy issues and Shhelby handled it so well, was very conscientious, and sent me thorough and frequent updates. She left my place cleaner than she found it and most importantly I could tell she really cared about my dog. Strongly recommend her.â

âCamila was absolutely wonderful! She kept me informed, was on time, and very respectful. I have already re-booked her for another stay and highly recommend her!â

âNadia was the best! She drove our pooch down to the vet hospital and picked her up after surgery. She made sure to come over the night before, though it wasnât part of the contract, to make sure she knew where she was going and to meet our pooch. Iâd use her anytime.â
About: Hi! Iâm Analise, a college student finishing up my last semester, which means I have plenty of flexibility and time to give your pets the attention and care they deserve! Iâve been caring for dogs my entire life, from energetic puppies to sweet senior pups. I especially love working with high energy dogs, anxious dogs, and pets who need medication or extra care. Iâm patient, attentive, and comfortable adjusting my care to each petâs individual needs and personality. As a full-time student with college classes three days a week and a part-time job, Iâve learned how to manage my time effectively. I carefully plan my schedule to make sure I can fit pet care in between my other responsibilities. On my days off from college or work, Iâm fully available for longer visits, walks, or extended care. On busier days, I still have time between classes or shifts for quick check-ins, feeding, or short walks. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy, so I always make sure it fits smoothly into my weekly routine Iâm very careful and always pay close attention to each dogâs individual needs. Whether Iâm in my home or the clientâs, I make sure the pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I follow any specific instructions and routines closely, making sure the animal gets the right food, exercise, and attention. Iâm also loving and playful, so pets not only feel looked after, they have fun too! I treat every dog like theyâre my own.

I have several years of dog/housesitting under my belt, caring for little & big fur babies âĄĚ i live with 3 dogs that know nothing personal space, so endless cuddles and pets are guaranteed! I am currently a full time graduate student on clinical rotation! I love keeping my schedule full and prioritize movement, so taking care of pets will be a wonderful decompressing activity for me! Even on busy weeks, I will be sure to find openings to offer the best care and love for your fur babies! I have cared for fur babies in their homes for weeks at a time, including feeding, walking, and more âĄĚ Just tell me what you need done each day and I will happily carry out my given tasks! âMalena was fantastic with our 3 large dogs, one being a puppy. She stayed in close contact with us with plenty of updates and the pups loved her. All of our dogs have very different personalities and she did great with all of them. Our request was very last minute and she was able to accommodate everything we needed. We highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again!â

âBianca was the perfect dog sitter during my visit to SoCal! This was her second day in a row watching my dog. She communicated well, ensured my dog was entertained, and took her out when needed. Super friendly dog sitter! I highly recommend! Thank you again Bianca!â

âMaria was able to come on short notice and sent daily photos of our pups. Our dogs seemed very comfortable with her, and we would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy house-sitterâ

âLinda is the best and I wouldnât trust anyone else with my babies! If she is not available, I would not go on a vacation. I felt so bad over this weekend due to the heat wave, my air conditioning went out, and I had to set up fans and a portable AC unit and I told her I could come home from my trip early if needed. She was insistent I stay with my family and enjoy my vacation. She stayed the entire time and took great care of my babies and sent so many photos and updates and they love her so much. I actually think they get sad when I get home. Lol. She is beyond 5 stars!!!â

âSahba absolutely came to our rescue when a previously booked sitter canceled on us at the very last minute. Despite the short notice, he arrived promptly and immediately put our minds at ease. He watched our home for several nights and took wonderful care of our two cats and our high-strung little dog. Anyone with a nervous pup knows how important the right energy is, and Sahba handled her perfectly. We really appreciated his communication throughout the stay; he sent regular updates and photos, which allowed us to actually relax knowing everyone was in good hands. We highly recommend Sahba for anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative sitter. We will definitely be calling him again!â

âSo happy Amyra was able to watch my dogs again, especially over the holidays itâs hard to find a sitter. She was great with communication and sent multiple updates daily! Left the house clean and with the happiest dogs!â

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Santa Ana
Dana was absolutely AMAZING!! We have a new 19-week old German Shepherd puppy and had to go out of town for a week. We were stressed about leaving her with someone but Dana was so great with both Venus (our puppy) and Cleo (our 11-year old senior cat). She helped alleviate our stress and we knew our babies were being well taken care of. She went above and beyond with our pets and treated them amazing! She fed Venus her special meals, helped maintain training, lots of walks and playtime. She also did amazing at administering our cat her morning and nighttime meds (inhaler + oral injections). She stayed in constant communication with us and sent us lots of adorable pics and videos. We are so thankful to Dana and her family who really treated our pets like their own! We are so happy and thankful to have found Dana and cannot wait to use her again. She is definitely our go-to-sitter from now on! I HIGHLY recommend you use Dana! She is the best!!

Joey was great! She was very communicative and sent pics of Mav and the cats everyday which was a nice surprise. She followed every step in their routine perfectly to keep them happy when I was gone! She even cleaned up a accident and the cat litter that spilled out.

Rebecca is the BEST! We went on a trip overseas for a week and not a single time were we worried about our dog. She kept us updated everyday and showed him love like he was her own. Could not recommend more! I will never book with anyone else but her! 1000/10!đŤśđź

Carolina was great! She was kind, easy to work with, and followed all of the instructions we left for our dogs. She also took good care of our house while we were away, which we really appreciated. The dogs seemed happy and comfortable with her, and we were especially happy to see how quickly Obi warmed up to her since heâs usually a little cautious with new people. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. Weâd definitely book Carolina again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog sitter.

Christine was an absolutely amazing house sitter and took the best care of our boy. We got constant updates and pictures her whole stay and he got spoiled with walks and ball time in the back yard. She also was a lovely house guest and tidied the whole house before we returned. Thank you, Christine! âşď¸
Amelia is our go-to sitter for long trips! We recently just came back from a long trip to Japan and I knew that Boba was going to be well taken care of. Our cat even slept in the guest bed after Amelia left because he missed her! Thanks again Amelia for taking such good care of him.

Jacquelyn was so great with our nervous little guy, Tommy. He usually has separation anxiety when I leave him but he did better than usual with her. We are so grateful that my husband and I got to spend time in Disneyland thanks to her and calm, loving demeanor which kept our dog calm! We appreciated the cute photos she sent of him while we were in the park, it made us feel better knowing he was well taken care of! Thank you so much!

Dawn hit it off with our moderately shy kitties almost immediately and it was no surprise when they quickly adopted her as their new cuddle-buddy. Dawn also took great care of our cockatiel and koi fish, and sent lots of updates with photos during her stay. We are so glad to have found her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 7,698 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Santa Ana. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Santa Ana walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Santa Ana maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Santa Ana choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Santa Ana. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
