“Sahba absolutely came to our rescue when a previously booked sitter canceled on us at the very last minute. Despite the short notice, he arrived promptly and immediately put our minds at ease. He watched our home for several nights and took wonderful care of our two cats and our high-strung little dog. Anyone with a nervous pup knows how important the right energy is, and Sahba handled her perfectly. We really appreciated his communication throughout the stay; he sent regular updates and photos, which allowed us to actually relax knowing everyone was in good hands. We highly recommend Sahba for anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative sitter. We will definitely be calling him again!”

“So happy Amyra was able to watch my dogs again, especially over the holidays it’s hard to find a sitter. She was great with communication and sent multiple updates daily! Left the house clean and with the happiest dogs!”

“Kiryl was excellent! Very responsive on time and took great care of my Matteo! Highly recommend Kiryl pet care and staying with your fur babies! Will definitely have him stay with my boy again! Many Thanks”

“Linda is the best and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my babies! If she is not available, I would not go on a vacation. I felt so bad over this weekend due to the heat wave, my air conditioning went out, and I had to set up fans and a portable AC unit and I told her I could come home from my trip early if needed. She was insistent I stay with my family and enjoy my vacation. She stayed the entire time and took great care of my babies and sent so many photos and updates and they love her so much. I actually think they get sad when I get home. Lol. She is beyond 5 stars!!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind and size since I was a child. My family always had dogs growing up, and I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for neighbors, friends, and family ever since. I currently have my own 5 year old Cavapoo, so I understand the needs of both small and large breeds, from high energy pups to laid back seniors. I treat every dog I watch like my own, with lots of attention, exercise, and affection. I’d love to have the honor of taking care of your lovely doggos! I have a flexible schedule (since I work remotely!) that allows me to give your dog plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and boarding at your home, and I make sure every dog gets regular exercise, playtime, and companionship. I’m happy to accommodate specific feeding times, or routines your pup is used to at home. I’m attentive, responsible, and treat your home and pets with the same care and respect I’d want for my own. During overnight stays, walks, and drop-ins, I follow your routines closely, including feeding schedules and house rules. I provide care in your home, so your dog stays in their familiar, comfortable environment with no added stress from travel or new surroundings.
“Ana was so so sweet! She did an amazing job taking care of our pup! She gave us frequent updates, asked in depth questions about him and his routine, and followed his schedule perfectly! “Candace is a great communicator & took great care of our dog and our home! We really appreciate how punctual she is and her attention to details with our dogs meds. Thank you Candace!”

“Angelina was absolutely wonderful with my little dog, Peach. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and trustworthy hands. She was kind, attentive, patient, and treated him with genuine love and affection. It’s not easy to leave your pet with someone else, but Angelina made the entire experience stress-free and reassuring. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter. Thank you, Angelina, for taking such great care of my little boy! ❤️”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 2 years and absolutely love spending time with them! I have a dog back home in Asia thats 12 years old, and I’ve also helped care for my roommate’s dog on many occasions. From feeding and walks to playtime and keeping them company, I’m comfortable handling a variety of situations and making sure each dog feels safe, happy, and loved. I’m a very active and energetic person, so if your dog loves to play, we’ll probably become best friends! Whether it’s playing fetch, going on walks, or simply running around together, I’ll happily match their energy (sometimes I joke that I become a dog too! 😄). For more relaxed or senior dogs, I’m just as happy to slow things down and give them gentle attention and companionship. I’m also comfortable cleaning up accidents, giving fresh food and water, administering basic care, and keeping your home clean and tidy. I’ll treat your dog like family and send plenty of photo updates, so you can enjoy your time away knowing they’re in good hands. I’m currently working part-time, so I’m just very bored when I don’t have work. Wish to have a pet to play with and take care of them to kill time. I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own home, so I do my best to keep their routine as normal as possible while you’re away. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and bedtime routines. I always respect my clients’ homes by keeping everything clean, secure, and organized. I’ll also send regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for.

Naomy did such a wonderful job taking good care of my two sweet babies Daisy and Dahlia. They loved her! She was flexible to work with and made sure she sent me reports and pictures throughout the day. I will definitely be booking her again. Thank you so much Naomy!

Sabha was a total professional. The communication was strong from the start. Communicated expectations garnered responsiveness and results. He house sat for us for four days. When we had to extend due to a change in plans, he accommodated. When we returned home, the kitchen had been cleaned and the house had been vacuumed. It was cleaner than when we left. Will absolutely book again. Thanks Sabaha!

Miranda house sat for our cat for 10 days and she was amazing! She was available last minute when our other sitter cancelled. She was very communicative throughout the stay, sending us numerous photos and videos every day. She also spent a significant amount of time with our cat each day and even watered our plants for us! Wonderful sitter, would highly recommend

Sophia was the best house sitter i could have asked for. she went above and beyond to take care of my baby and my place. she was very communicative and helpful, with updates throughout the day for me to have a peace of mind. my puppy loved her and i would book her again 100%!!! highly recommend you book her :)

Brianna was a great sitter for our long house sitting request! She communicated well and left us completely confident while we were gone. Our dog warmed up to her very quickly and the house was just as we left it. Would highly recommend Brianna and hope to book with her again!!

Anh is such a caring and responsible pet sitter! She goes above & beyond to make sure your pet is always well cared for. She took the time to let my shy cat become comfortable with her before we left town & he absolutely adores her now! And she takes extra good care of our elderly dog. She even taught me some new tricks in taking care of her! We absolutely love what good care Anh takes of our pets! We will continue to hire her to care for our pets when we travel & highly recommend her to others.

Our Shiba Inu is a feisty, challenging dog to take care of. After trying numerous boarding homes to no avail, we reluctantly turned to a sitter. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to find Bella! She went out of her way to make sure our Shiba was comfortable and took such great care of him in our absence. When we returned, he acted like we never left. Bella is professional, kind, courteous, and demonstrated immense expertise in her handling of our puppy. We cannot recommend Bella enough!

Grant took wonderful care of my dog, Victor, while I was away. What stood out most was how naturally he connected with him, which gave me real peace of mind while I was gone. It was clear my pup was comfortable, happy, and in very good hands. I’m very happy with Grant’s service, highly recommend him, and will absolutely continue using his top-class care in the future.

As of September 2026, there are 6,434 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Irvine. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Irvine walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Irvine maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Irvine choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
