“Laura is amazing! We have 2 senior dogs and one that is paralyzed, and she had no hesitation on watching them. She is super nice and responsive with her communication. We’ve always boarded our dogs when we leave so this was new for us, but she made me feel so comfortable leaving them with her. Laura took such amazing care of my pups and we will definitely be requesting her again!”

“Kelsy was amazing with McLovin. She had such a caring energy from the moment she arrived at our home. Her communication was great. We felt very much at ease leaving our sweet guy with her.”

About: I bring nearly 10 years of experience caring for homes and pets, from tiny Chihuahuas to gentle Bernese Mountain Dogs. I’m skilled in puppy training, senior pet care, and understanding each animal’s unique needs. As a Mindset & Mental Health coach, I naturally bring patience, calm, and strong intuition, ensuring pets feel safe and loved. Known for my reliability, warmth, and attention to detail, I give homeowners complete peace of mind while they’re away. I work fully remote as a Mindset & Mental Health coach, which gives me a flexible daily and weekly routine. This allows me to dedicate plenty of focused time to your pets—feeding, walking, playtime, and companionship—while also keeping your home tidy and well cared for. My remote work schedule ensures I’m consistently present, attentive, and available to respond to any needs as they arise. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet I care for. I prefer to sit at clients’ homes, keeping pets in the comfort of their familiar surroundings and routines. I care for them just as if they were my own—providing companionship, attention, and affection while ensuring their space is clean, secure, and stress-free. My goal is for both pets and homeowners to feel completely at ease while I’m caring for them.
“Darla watched my dog while I was out of state and provided her with so much love and care. She sent updates and pictures, took her on walks and played with her. Darla also would pet and cuddle her. Darla was great! Would definitely use her again! :)”

“Sarah is super communicative and very easygoing, making the whole experience so pleasant for us. We had multiple changes in our plan, and she was very accommodating. I look forward to having her care for our pups in the near future because I know they’ll be in good hands.”

“Jenna is our go-to dog/house sitter. Our dog, Axel, loves her (as do we). She gives him tons of love and great walks. Her cheery texts and pics keep us in touch. Thanks Jenna!”

“John was great! We booked last minute. I went with him based on his reviews, and they’re all accurate. He was prompt and our dog took to him immediately. We got photos while we were out and Faust was so relaxed when we got back. We will definitely book with him again in the future. Honestly, 10 out of 10.”

“Krystal is AHMAZING! I came home and the house was so clean. My dog never lets sitters walk her but she let Krystal walk her multiple times per day which is WILD in the best way! Krystal is a miracle worker and I'm so thankful she came to sit for us <3”

“Emily watched my 2 pups and bird while we were out of town for a long weekend. She kept me informed and sent photos and videos of my babies, which I really appreciated! She is very respectful and has great rapport with my dogs and will hire her again 🐶”

“Kayla was amazing, We went out of town and she did a sleep over and stayed with our fur babies. She took care of them and sent lots of video and pictures. I would definitely recommend her for pet sitting and overnights.”

About: I have years of hands on experience caring for pets and understand how important trust is when leaving your animals with someone else. I’ve completed overnight stays, dog sitting, house sitting, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. My schedule is pretty flexible, allowing me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I’m available most weekdays and weekends and can adapt to your pet’s routine, whether that means walks, check-ins, overnight stays, playtime, or extended care. I understand that trusting someone with your pet and home is a big responsibility, which is why I always prioritize safety, comfort, and proper care. I follow instructions closely, respect each pet’s routine, and make sure they feel secure, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away.
“Emma is so good that I'm tempted not to leave this glowing review... but here I am to tell you she is so great you and your four footers will love her. Responsible, mature for her age especially, energetic and loving. Love Emma!!!!”

“Joey has been incredible for us and our dog, Bullseye. She just stayed at our home with Bullseye while we were out of the country for two weeks. We felt very comfortable with her, and could tell Bullseye was happy and well taken care of, too. She is very responsive and sent daily photos while we were gone. I highly recommend using Joey for any pet needs! She also has amazing flexibility, and is happy to stop in for walks as needed.”

“We cannot give higher praise for Amyra and James. They put our minds at ease and were such amazing help! Our puppies loved them and we really appreciate everything they did. We trust them completely and are no longer worried about leaving our pups knowing they’d be in the best hands!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Joaquin Hills
This was our first experience using Rover, and Jordan was so wonderful to work with! Our girl, Teddi, unexpectedly needed dental surgery shortly before we traveled from Denver to Newport Beach for my brother’s wedding, and I ended up driving her with me so I could continue caring for her while she healed. It was also Teddi’s first vacation staying in a hotel, and we weren’t sure how she would do in the room without us. Since the hotel had us agree not to leave dogs unattended, we didn’t want to chance it and found ourselves looking for help pretty last minute. Needless to say, we were in a bit of a stressed state with all of this going on, especially during a wedding weekend! Jordan was so communicative, flexible, and helpful in figuring out a plan that worked for us. Teddi stayed with her during our evening events while we were still able to handle her morning care ourselves, and Jordan even brought her back to our hotel after the wedding! We felt completely comfortable with Teddi in her care, including keeping up with her nighttime meds, which really allowed us to relax and actually be present for such a special weekend. It was such a blessing that Jordan was available, and it’s clear she has a heart for dogs. We’re so grateful we found her & will absolutely call her the next time we’re visiting Newport with Teddi!

Miranda house sat for our cat for 10 days and she was amazing! She was available last minute when our other sitter cancelled. She was very communicative throughout the stay, sending us numerous photos and videos every day. She also spent a significant amount of time with our cat each day and even watered our plants for us! Wonderful sitter, would highly recommend

Anh is such a caring and responsible pet sitter! She goes above & beyond to make sure your pet is always well cared for. She took the time to let my shy cat become comfortable with her before we left town & he absolutely adores her now! And she takes extra good care of our elderly dog. She even taught me some new tricks in taking care of her! We absolutely love what good care Anh takes of our pets! We will continue to hire her to care for our pets when we travel & highly recommend her to others.

Alyssa took wonderful care of my two pups, with periodic updates on their walks, meals and how their day went. Lots of photos too, which put me at ease. She was easy to communicate with, and she set up a meet and greet so the pups could get to know her prior to the sit.

Julia was absolutely amazing for our trip! She provided excellent care for our pup , provided regular updates and pictures, and made sure our home was also looked after during our trip. She was always super responsive and kept me informed about any updates or questions. I looked forward to getting each of her pictures and updates. Not only did she take such good care of our pup but she also took excellent care of our home. Everything was clean and tidy Upon Our return. She even washed her sheets and towels and even remade the bed! She also wrote us a sweet note and d an awesome pic of our pup! I am super impressed by everything that Julia did and we will absolutely be requesting her for all of our future pet sitting needs! I cannot thank you enough Julia.

Marketta went above and beyond while we were on vacation for 2 weeks. This is the 2nd time she has watched our pups over night this time being for an extended time. We came home with our dogs being much more relaxed than the first time. We appreciate her patience and traiming to help them with their separation anxiety. I highly recommend her but at the same time dont want to tell you how awesome she is because we want her to be available for our pups who adore her so much! 😉 ☺️💗 We will definitely be booking Marketta again and again! Thank ypu so much 💖

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in San Joaquin Hills on Rover is $68.13 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,978 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across San Joaquin Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Joaquin Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Joaquin Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Joaquin Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
