About: I bring nearly 10 years of experience caring for homes and pets, from tiny Chihuahuas to gentle Bernese Mountain Dogs. I’m skilled in puppy training, senior pet care, and understanding each animal’s unique needs. As a Mindset & Mental Health coach, I naturally bring patience, calm, and strong intuition, ensuring pets feel safe and loved. Known for my reliability, warmth, and attention to detail, I give homeowners complete peace of mind while they’re away. I work fully remote as a Mindset & Mental Health coach, which gives me a flexible daily and weekly routine. This allows me to dedicate plenty of focused time to your pets—feeding, walking, playtime, and companionship—while also keeping your home tidy and well cared for. My remote work schedule ensures I’m consistently present, attentive, and available to respond to any needs as they arise. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet I care for. I prefer to sit at clients’ homes, keeping pets in the comfort of their familiar surroundings and routines. I care for them just as if they were my own—providing companionship, attention, and affection while ensuring their space is clean, secure, and stress-free. My goal is for both pets and homeowners to feel completely at ease while I’m caring for them.
“Suzanne was extremely caring and gentle with my sensitive doodle Romeo. She brushed him as he sat next to her and he loved it. It looked like he had been to the salon when I got home! Thank you, Suzanne!”

“Michelle has been a God send. She had been consistently on time and able to watch George for us a few times this week. She takes him on nice long walks and is easy to communicate with.”

“Elizabeth did a great job watching my dog Wally for me He barked at her at first but she was patient with him and he warmed up to her quickly. I can tell he enjoyed spending time with her.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we met, it was clear how much She genuinely care about animals. She took the time to learn our dog’s routine, personality, and little quirks, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Throughout the stay, we received regular updates, photos, and messages, which made it easy to relax knowing our dog was happy, safe, and well cared for. It was obvious our dog was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and love. When we returned, everything was just as we left it, and our dog was calm, content, and clearly well taken care of. It’s such a relief to find someone we trust completely with our pet. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter—and we will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Otis had a great time with Melissa! She was punctual, friendly, and had excellent communication both before and during her stay. She even sent photo updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated. Otis was instantly comfortable with her - always a great sign as a pet parent. Since this was my first time using Rover, we did a video call beforehand, and I really appreciated how thorough she was in asking about Otis’s needs, behavior, favorite toys, and what to watch for while he’s recovering from an eye injury to ensure he was doing well.”

About: I’m Caroline, a 30-year-old dog lover with nearly two decades of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I aim to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’m patient, dependable, and detail-oriented, and I adapt easily to each dog’s individual needs. Whether your dog has a simple routine or a more involved one—including exercise, feeding, medications, or other specialized care—I’m happy to follow all instructions exactly as provided. I’m comfortable with walks, exercise, brushing, feeding, cleaning up after pets, reinforcing basic training, and caring for dogs who need extra attention or structure. I understand how much trust it takes to leave both your dog and your home in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. Your dog’s well-being is always my top priority. Pet care fits well into my schedule. I currently have a flexible routine and will be starting a graduate program this fall in Counseling Psychology that meets three consecutive days per month. I expect to be able to comfortably balance my studies and pet care within my schedule. I provide care in client homes and follow all instructions carefully to maintain each pet’s normal routine. I pay close attention to feeding, exercise, medications, and any special care requirements to ensure consistency and comfort for the pet. I also treat every home with respect, keeping things clean and tidy during and after each visit.
“Nicholas was great! He communicated well and asked a lot of questions to make sure he knew how to take good care of Squid. He showed up on time and sent great pictures. We would definitely hire him again.”

About: For the past three years, I've been caring full-time for my sister's cat, and part-time for her dog (Cocker Spaniel). But now my sister has moved somewhere new where she can have both pets, and as the cat and dog breeds I would most want to own are prohibitively expensive, I'd love the opportunity to care for yours. I also looked after my sister's dog while she was undergoing cancer treatment as a puppy. Those experiences taught me the importance of following care instructions closely, paying attention to changes in behavior, and providing patient, compassionate care. I have a B.A. in Psychology from USC, where I developed strong research skills, so I'm someone who enjoys learning about best practices to provide thoughtful care. As a preschool teacher, I've also learned that everyone is unique, and I always respect each family's routines and preferences. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. My family has also had bad experiences with house/pet sitters with our Yorkshire Terriers in the past so I am very sensitive to what it's like on the other side of things. It's also important me that you know that I will never hit or spank your animal. Not only am I uncomfortable with corporal punishment but I truly believe it is not only ineffective but harmful. I'm currently working part-time as a preschool teacher while I'm trying to transition to working into HR. I work from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm M, Tu, F near the UCI campus. W, Th, I am only busy for ~3 hours. I usually come straight home after work and Doordash dinner. I usually wake up at 7am and am asleep by 11-pm, but I am a light sleeper so if a pet starts to cry or stirs I will most likely hear it and be able to help with whatever caused them to wake up. I know that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs, so my priority is to provide care that feels familiar and comfortable for them. I'll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, and any household routines you'd like me to maintain. I believe in giving pets plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while also respecting their boundaries and comfort level. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away. I also promise not to judge. I have dog-sat for one dog that would only eat if hand fed, and another dog that would only respond when you used a baby-voice, and another that only listens to commands in Spanish haha.
“Kelsy was fantastic! We had to take some time off from our pup of 9 months, 3 year old and our friends 6 year old dogs to just get some dinner and had Kelsy sit all 3. She was more than willing and called it a Pawty! And the dogs had a blast. All 3 of our dogs are different people and personalities and she was able to handle all of them really well and oh btw, they aint small either at 100, 60 and 60 lbs each. She was fantastic to communicate and connect with and we would love to have her sit the pups and the bigs when we travel to Laguna! Cant recommend highly enough! Thank you Kelsy!”

“Patrick and Samantha were wonderful! They gave me lots of updates, and my puppy looked like she was having a blast while we were away. I highly recommend them!!”

“Garrett took great care of my dogs while I was on a day trip with my family. He was available at short notice and communicated during the day and sent lots of pics of the dogs out in walks and relaxing. My elderly dog wally is on heart medication and he ensured he received the meds with dinner along with feeding my other dogs.”

“Abigail was fantastic! Scoobie fell in love with her! She was attentive to his needs and gave him tons of loving and affection. She stayed in our home and was very respectful in keeping everything picked up and clean, while still making herself comfortable with Scoobie. We were very comfortable and relaxed knowing that Scoobie was in good hands as she was great about communicating with us and sending pictures. We definitely are using her again!!!”

Eva R. is the gold standard of house and pet sitters! I just returned from a 9-day vacation and couldn't be happier with the exceptional care Eva provided for both my home and my Boston Bulldog, Falcon. From our very first interaction, Eva was incredibly professional, highly communicative, and deeply attentive to Falcon’s and my specific routines and quirks. Throughout the 9 days, I received regular updates and beautiful photos that immediately put my mind at ease and allowed me to truly relax on my trip. It was completely obvious that Eva wasn't just doing a job, but truly bonding with Falcon as a genuine companion. When I got home, Falcon was calm, happy, and clearly well-loved. To top it off, the house was absolutely immaculate. Finding someone you can trust implicitly with your pet and your home is rare. Eva is reliable, trustworthy, and an absolute joy to work with. I give her my highest possible recommendation and will absolutely be booking her again for future trips! Choose Eva for her kind spirit and genuine reliability.

Dan took great care of our two dogs in our home while we were on vacation during the Fourth of July. He provided daily updates of photos and videos of our two dogs. One of our dogs is more timid/defensive but Dan took the time with him to make him feel comfortable. By the end of the vacation both our dogs were best friends with Dan!

Garrett took great care of my dogs while I was on a day trip with my family. He was available at short notice and communicated during the day and sent lots of pics of the dogs out in walks and relaxing. My elderly dog wally is on heart medication and he ensured he received the meds with dinner along with feeding my other dogs.

Roxanne and Eduardo take such good care of our older golden! We have used them several times and highly recommend them. We were particularly thankful for the good care this weekend as we were away at our son‘s wedding. It was so nice to have a reliable pet sitter!

We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter than Sylvia! She took amazing care of our 6-month-old mini Dachshund, Bodhi, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Sylvia kept us updated every day with messages, pictures, and videos, which made it so easy to see how much fun Bodhi was having with her. It was clear from every update that Bodhi was happy, comfortable, and receiving lots of love and attention. When we arrived home Bodhi was relaxed, happy, and clearly had the best time with Sylvia. We feel so lucky to have found such an awesome pet sitter. Sylvia treated Bodhi like one of her own, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend Sylvia to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, loving, and dependable to care for their furry family member! Thank you for taking such great care of our little Bodhi. 😀

Emma did really well with our pups. This was our first booking with her and things went very smoothly. Communication was great, and the puppy pictures were much appreciated. She was also very accommodating with schedule on short notice. We will happily rebook her for any future dog-sitting needs.

Hannah is amazing! She’s super communicative and sent multiple daily updates. She showed so much attention and care to our chihuahua puppy-even taking him to a family event of hers so our puppy wasn’t ever alone. When our flight home was delayed, she took extra effort to make sure we were on the flight home before she left. I’d hire her again in a heart beat.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Newport Beach on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,325 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newport Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newport Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newport Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newport Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newport Beach. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
