“Tammy has provided dog-sitting and drop-in/walking services for me a few times now, and she always is super communicative, follows all care instructions, and sends lots of photos and videos. My dog Bowie loves her! Highly recommend her.”

“Vivian was great! Super transparent, scheduled a meet & greet, is very organized and really good with communication. Skye is a moody Shih Tzu and Vivian was super calm with him and got along really well.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 11 years old—both my own and those of friends and family. I grew up with a high-energy Jack Russell mix, so I’m no stranger to playful pups who love to move. I genuinely love all animals and have a deep appreciation for their unique personalities. I’m a recent graduate from UC Irvine and currently have a flexible schedule as I search for full-time opportunities. That means I have plenty of time to care for your dog or cat—and I’d love to spend it keeping your pet happy and active! I prioritize your pet’s safety and comfort during every walk or visit. Whether at home or in a nearby park, I always make sure your pet is having fun while staying safe. I also enjoy learning about pet behavior and regularly watch dog training and grooming videos to stay informed. I’ve been around both energetic and fluffy pets all my life!
“Bianca was the perfect dog sitter during my visit to SoCal! This was her second day in a row watching my dog. She communicated well, ensured my dog was entertained, and took her out when needed. Super friendly dog sitter! I highly recommend! Thank you again Bianca!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 8 years old and have hands-on experience with many breeds and sizes. I’ve provided pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family, including puppies, senior pets, and pets needing medication. I love taking dogs on daily walks to keep them active and happy and giving them plenty of attention while their owners are away. Bathing and basic grooming are no problem—I treat every pet as if they were my own. My schedule is completely open right now, which means I can provide flexible care that fits your pet’s needs. Whether you need daily dog walking, drop-in visits, or overnight pet sitting, I can adjust to morning, afternoon, or evening routines. I’m also available for last-minute bookings, so you can trust that your pets will be cared for even on short notice. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow your pet’s routine closely so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality and provide plenty of love and reassurance. You can count on me to respect your home, keep things tidy, and send regular updates so you have peace of mind knowing your furry family members are happy and cared for.
About: I understand what dogs need because I pay attention to the small things. When my own dog, Gorio, gets anxious, I don't just manage it—I anticipate it. I've learned to read his cues, adjust environments before he gets overwhelmed, and create routines that help him feel secure. I've taken him camping, navigated social situations with other dogs, and made tough calls to protect his wellbeing even when it's inconvenient for me. I treat every dog in my care like they matter—not as a job, but as a responsibility I take seriously. Whether your pup needs patience, structure, or just someone who won't leave them feeling like a burden, I show up fully present. Your dog won't just be watched—they'll be seen. Working part time as a surgical technologist, I usually work 3-4 days a week. On my own time I can do mornings on Mondays and Tuesdays I can also do Saturday evenings and Sunday evenings Home Visits: I respect your dog's space and routine. I will pay attention first to their comfort level, read their cues, and don't force interaction, when they are anxious. I’m very patient with them, so I make sure they feel safe, not stressed by having a stranger in their home. Walks: I'm mindful of your dog's pace and energy. I don't rush them. I'm aware of their triggers and keep them feeling protected, not overwhelmed. Overnight Stays: I'm consistent and reliable. Your dog won't be left wondering or anxious. I make decisions that prioritize their wellbeing, even when it's inconvenient for me.

“Candace is a great communicator & took great care of our dog and our home! We really appreciate how punctual she is and her attention to details with our dogs meds. Thank you Candace!”

“Deena was extremely communicative and sent us so many photos of our dog, Maggie, while we were away. We felt very safe knowing Maggie was in her care! We will absolutely be booking again!”

“Abigail was fantastic! Scoobie fell in love with her! She was attentive to his needs and gave him tons of loving and affection. She stayed in our home and was very respectful in keeping everything picked up and clean, while still making herself comfortable with Scoobie. We were very comfortable and relaxed knowing that Scoobie was in good hands as she was great about communicating with us and sending pictures. We definitely are using her again!!!”

“Nick took wonderful care of my kitty Puffin McStuffin. Puffin broke out of the house as he tends to do and Nick kept a close eye to make sure he came back and then made sure it wouldn’t happen again. He also played, fed, and cuddled Puffin McStuffin and even coaxed him out from under the bed when he was hiding. Bonus he also brought my packages inside! Will be booking again for house sitting.”

About: My skills are only taking the dogs a bath and taking them on walks, and I play with them as well I give all my attention to them. I start my morning early and then I take the dog out on their first walk of the day, then I feed them their breakfast, then throughout the day I play with them and care for them. The care I would give is just giving them attention and making sure their area is always cleaned. Taking them on walks and playing with them! I always attend them to see what they need. I also provide dog sitting in your own home as much as you need me to, and I can also stay over night staying in your own home! I can come to you if you are not comfortable with your dog leaving home.
“Suzanne took extremely good care of our cats. She provided excellent communication and cleaned up what was needed. I would love to have her care four my cats and home in the future. The Gracias”

“Shelby was so great!! She did a home stay with our dog Bowie who is very dog-reactive. She followed all our instructions and made sure he was comfortable on walks. She also provided updates and pictures and videos and communicated so much which we requested and really appreciated. Will definitely book her again and highly recommend her as a pet sitter! We loved her!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and caring for them has always been second nature to me. I have always been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends. I’m dependable, patient, and truly love spending time with animals—whether it’s for an outdoor stroll, engaging playtime, or relaxing together on the couch. I treat every pet like my own and always aim to make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work full-time Monday through Thursday, but I’m often available for evening walks or drop-ins during the week. From Thursday night through Sunday night, I’m available for overnight stays or extended visits at your home. I’m not able to host pets in my own home since I have a cat who prefers to have the space to herself, but I’m more than happy to care for your pets in their familiar environment where they feel most comfortable.
“May was an awesome sitter! Our two dogs took to her instantly. She provided lots of updates and pics and videos and did everything we asked. If we are ever in the area again we will def use her services.”

We had Taylor stay and house-sit for our cat and we’re so happy that she did. Taylor is very communicative - from meet & greet to daily texts about how our cat was doing. Our cat has a complicated feeding schedule and Taylor had no problems with it. Directions were followed and followed correctly. Taylor is easy to talk to and friendly. Also she is a cat whisperer. Our cat is skittish at times and there are people she likes and dislikes. We’re happy to say that our cat accepted Taylor immediately and was rolling around like Taylor has been a family friend for years. Also, Taylor was very considerate about being in our house. When we got back, it was as if no one was here. I would highly recommend Taylor for your pet sitting needs. We’ll definitely be calling on her again the next time we need to leave.

Gloria was genuinely everything we could have hoped for. We were traveling with our two dogs and needed someone to watch them in our hotel room, which can be a little stressful because it’s an unfamiliar place for them. Bert is our 1-year-old anxious sweetheart, and Bud is our 10-year-old sweet “grumpy” old man, so we really just wanted someone who would keep them calm, safe, and comfortable. Gloria did exactly that. She was on time, kind, easy to communicate with, and sent us sweet updates and pictures throughout the night. It made such a difference being able to go out and actually feel confident that our boys were okay. She took them out, gave them treats, hung out with them, and clearly paid attention to who they are instead of just “watching dogs.” She also left us the sweetest handwritten card and a Polaroid of Bud and Bert, which honestly meant so much. It was such a thoughtful little thing and showed how much she cares. We came back to two safe, happy boys, and that’s really all you can ask for. We’re so grateful we found Gloria and would book her again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend her.

I can’t say enough good things about Sarah and how well she cares for our dogs and our home. We have a special needs dog that is especially challenging, and she is so patient and good with him. He takes a lot of medicine and has a special feeding routine. He has been especially picky about food recently, and Sarah somehow managed to get him to eat all his meals. Both of our dogs love her, and our other dog has even been checking the guest room when we wake up in the morning to see if Sarah is still here. Sarah takes great care of our house as well. I cannot recommend her enough!

Samantha did a wonderful job looking after our kitties and fish. She was asked great questions, was careful and thorough with the feeding and cleaning, and communicated with us throughout her stay at our home. Our kitties were happy and relaxed when we came come, and Samantha left our home tidy and clean. Thank you for doing such a nice job, Samantha!

We had an amazing experience! She communicated with us throughout the entire stay, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She took wonderful care of our dog, making sure he got all of his medications three times a day, and it was clear he was well loved and cared for. She also took exceptional care of our home. Everything was spotless, organized, and exactly as we left it. She even went above and beyond by washing and drying the towels and sheets before we got home, which was such a thoughtful surprise. I would absolutely book her again for dog and house sitting in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and caring!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fountain Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fountain Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fountain Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
