“Kirsten is great! I’ve had her house sit twice now and she took great care of the pets and the house. Sent a lot of picture updates and was attentive if anything was wrong (not eating much, licking paws a lot, etc). 5/5 would definitely have her pet sit again!”

“Jade took great care of our senior GSD for 6 days. She communicated with us about Buzo's feeding schedule and made sure that he's fed on time. I'd highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs. :)”

“Emily did an excellent job caring for Bambino. She kept us informed throughout the day with updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. She was attentive, professional, and clearly cared about his well-being. We especially appreciated the detailed progress report she provided at the end of the visit. We would gladly trust her with Bambino again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter. Excellent job! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Gloria was genuinely everything we could have hoped for. We were traveling with our two dogs and needed someone to watch them in our hotel room, which can be a little stressful because it’s an unfamiliar place for them. Bert is our 1-year-old anxious sweetheart, and Bud is our 10-year-old sweet “grumpy” old man, so we really just wanted someone who would keep them calm, safe, and comfortable. Gloria did exactly that. She was on time, kind, easy to communicate with, and sent us sweet updates and pictures throughout the night. It made such a difference being able to go out and actually feel confident that our boys were okay. She took them out, gave them treats, hung out with them, and clearly paid attention to who they are instead of just “watching dogs.” She also left us the sweetest handwritten card and a Polaroid of Bud and Bert, which honestly meant so much. It was such a thoughtful little thing and showed how much she cares. We came back to two safe, happy boys, and that’s really all you can ask for. We’re so grateful we found Gloria and would book her again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend her.”

About: I'm a dedicated dog owner myself so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I'm patient, attentive e and committed to making every walk safe, fun and stress free. I treat every dog like family. I balance my work schedule with pet care and always make time to provide reliable, attentive, and loving care. I carefully plan my days to ensure each dog receives safe, enjoyable walks and consistent attention. On walks, I focus on providing safe, enjoyable exercise tailored to each dog’s energy level. I always follow the owner’s routine and make sure pets return home happy and well cared for.

“Jack was a complete professional during his recent dog sitting of our two dogs. He stayed at our home and was extremely attentive and respectful. Jack followed all care instructions and went over and beyond by taking our dogs to the park and playing with them frequently. He provided us daily updates and photos during our vacation that kept us at ease, especially while traveling out of state. I cannot recommend him enough, a gentleman in every way.”

“This is Sarah’s second stay with our senior dog. Ness was happy and healthy, and Sarah left our place tidy and also brought in packages for us! Definitely booking her again for our next trip!”

“Keane took great care of my pups and was very communicative in the process. He sent photos of happy pups, kept me update on their meals and I’d use his services again in a heartbeat!”

“Axel loved Jenna! We are so glad we found her. Axel is an abused rescue who still has some anxiety (and is generally quirky). He took to Jenna right away at our meet-and-greet! She sent us regular updates and photos: by his body language, we knew he was happy and having fun.He even got the zoomies which he does when he is really happy. As we were gone for two weeks, this was important to us. Additionally, the house was in perfect shape when we returned. I highly recommend Jenna and will definistely book her for our future trips. Thanks Jenna for loving Axel as if he were your own.”

About: I’ve grown up in a dog loving family, from having as many as 5 dogs to being a single dog fam for a while. Always been a sucker for big dogs as i've owned alaskan malamutes, bernese mountain dogs and currently have a newfoundland. i also have had breeds like corgis and pom pom mixes and currently have a pitbull bull terrier mix & a shepsky as well! i’ve cared for neighbors smaller breeds while they’re out of town taking them on walks, feeding and just hanging out with them for periods of time. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns! Can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies 😁🩵 My day job is super flexible so everyday looks a little different for me. The longest i’d be gone at any point in time would be 3-4 hours with a heads up as I care for my dogs as well! 😁 If thats an issue please reach out to me and we can figure something out that works best for everyone! always make sure doors and gates are closed/ secured when they’re supposed to be, i’m a very attentive and detail oriented person so I like making sure everything is as it’s supposed to be! The more instructions the better I can tailor my visit to your pets!!!!
“Katie went above and beyond to make sure our pets were taken care of properly. She did a quick visit to meet the pups and get a lay of the house in advance of the housesit. Katie sent updates throughout the stay, which made us feel like we were in good hands!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter than Jingying! She took amazing care of our two puppies, Raina and Emma, while we were away for 10 days. Raina, our older girl, needs extra attention and daily medication, and Jingying handled her care with such patience, compassion, and attentiveness. It was such a relief knowing she was in good hands. Emma, our younger pup, is full of energy, and Jingying made sure she had plenty of playtime and love too. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. When we came home, both dogs were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. Jingying is responsible, kind, and clearly loves what she does. We’re so grateful to have found her and will absolutely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Kaylynn stayed overnight and took wonderful care of my two BIG strong breed dogs- Pitt Bull and Bull terrier. —-she loves animals! Also took great care of my home and cleaned dogs dishes. Highly recommend her.”

We loved having Lucy as our dog sitter while we were gone on vacation! She took great care of the dogs, and our home, while we were gone. She also sent me lots of photos of them to keep me updated on how they were doing. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter! Thank you Lucy!

I can’t say enough good things about Sarah and how well she cares for our dogs and our home. We have a special needs dog that is especially challenging, and she is so patient and good with him. He takes a lot of medicine and has a special feeding routine. He has been especially picky about food recently, and Sarah somehow managed to get him to eat all his meals. Both of our dogs love her, and our other dog has even been checking the guest room when we wake up in the morning to see if Sarah is still here. Sarah takes great care of our house as well. I cannot recommend her enough!

Emylie is absolutely wonderful! Very caring with my little baby. She frequently sent me pictures of Freyja and the status of her wellbeing. If you want a lovely human to care for your furry family member, Emylie is your girl. Thank you so much, Emylie for making Freyja feel safe and happy while I was gone. 🙏🏽

Christine was an absolutely amazing house sitter and took the best care of our boy. We got constant updates and pictures her whole stay and he got spoiled with walks and ball time in the back yard. She also was a lovely house guest and tidied the whole house before we returned. Thank you, Christine! ☺️
Dawn hit it off with our moderately shy kitties almost immediately and it was no surprise when they quickly adopted her as their new cuddle-buddy. Dawn also took great care of our cockatiel and koi fish, and sent lots of updates with photos during her stay. We are so glad to have found her!

Cassaundra was absolutely wonderful. She kept me updated with photos while we were gone and made sure our animals were loved and cared for. She also went the extra mile and cleaned our house which looked even better than when we left it! Will definitely book her again to house sit when we’re out of town.

Bryce was great with my dog Millie, he was punctual and it was super nice that I didn’t have to worry about her, especially since it was a last minute booking. I’ve used him for a maternity photo shoot with a previous dog I’ve had & he was able to capture the best photos. Would highly recommend for dog sitting or pet photography

elizabeth is the absolute best!!!! our dogs are literally our babies and she took such amazing care of them (and our home!) while we went away for vacation! i could not recommend her enough! we will be using her for alllll our dog sitting needs in the future! ps she is also the best communicator and sends lots of pics too! she is just the best!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Garden Grove on Rover is $54.39 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 10,198 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Garden Grove. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Garden Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Garden Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Garden Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Garden Grove. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
