“Katrina is so kind and thoughtful. We were so happy with how our home and pup were cared for while we were away on vacation. Katrina sent lots of photos, and is quick and easy to communicate with. We’ll be booking again!”

“So lucky to have found Kathy through Rover, she was an exceptional sitter for our two dogs. Our boys are leash reactive so we are always a little anxious to leave them under just anyone’s care, but with Kathy we’ve never felt more at ease. Great communicator and responsive, would definitely book her again if we can!”

“Ana is an EXCEPTIONAL pet sitter!!! The best ever! I can't say enough nice things about her. She Sent pictures of him and communicated with me on a daily basis, while on a 12 day cruise! She gave him a bath, medication, and hand fed him when he was reluctant To eat. She left my house sparkling - totally clean & my Yorkie looking super healthy and cute! She was an angel - took care of my little dog like he was her own. I know he was sad to see her leave - but we will Always call her in the future! Thank you Ana!!!🌺❤️ You are truly an amazing person!!”

I am currently working part-time Monday-Thursday and am available after 3pm. I am fully available on Fridays. I am very respectful of the client’s home. I will obey their house rules. I will make sure to be thorough with any provided instructions and ask questions about things I am not sure about. I keep a clean and organized space.
“Shhelby recently watched my dog when I was out of the country and did an amazing job. My dog was having tummy issues and Shhelby handled it so well, was very conscientious, and sent me thorough and frequent updates. She left my place cleaner than she found it and most importantly I could tell she really cared about my dog. Strongly recommend her.”

“Angelina was absolutely wonderful with my little dog, Peach. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and trustworthy hands. She was kind, attentive, patient, and treated him with genuine love and affection. It’s not easy to leave your pet with someone else, but Angelina made the entire experience stress-free and reassuring. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional pet sitter. Thank you, Angelina, for taking such great care of my little boy! ❤️”

“Malena was fantastic with our 3 large dogs, one being a puppy. She stayed in close contact with us with plenty of updates and the pups loved her. All of our dogs have very different personalities and she did great with all of them. Our request was very last minute and she was able to accommodate everything we needed. We highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again!”

“Kelsey truly went above and beyond while watching my baby girl Lily! She had no issues with administering Lily’s medications and vitamins! She sent plenty of pictures and I booked her for overnights and she was very respectful of the space! She treated Lily just as her own and I would definitely have her again watching over my heart on four paws! Thank you Kelsey!”

“Thank you Shannan for taking such good care of my fur babies while I was out of town.. Shannan is a very friendly sweet care giver, I felt so comfortable leaving her in my home with my babies. We will definitely have you back for our next trip🐶🤗”

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I can remembers. We grew up with a Chihuahua and German Shepherd, and now I have a Husky. I love taking her for long walks and hikes on the weekends! I currently work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule. I can't board any pets, but I can generally petsit with some notice! I've cared for pets in multiple client's home. Some are crated and others are allowed to roam freely, this all just depends on what you prefer.

“Yerim was wonderful! She took great care of our critters & house, and had no problem providing special care for our pup when a last minute health issue arose. We would be happy to hire her again!”

“We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. She followed all of our requests and Hazel really liked Tina. She (Tina, not Hazel) left the house clean and tidy. We have already made arrangements to hire Tina again. We recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“This is my first time using Rower and I’m so glad I did. Katie made this process so easy for me. My dog Lucy is 15 1/2 and have never stayed with anyone before. Katie was great with her so much so that I’m going to trust her with Lucy for 16 days while I’m on vacation. Katie send me pictures of Lucy while under her care and when I came back Lucy was happy.”

“Alicia watched our two pups at our house and was fantastic! The pups were so well cared for and really happy! She communicated throughout and sent us lots of pics. Alicia also took amazing care of the house and left it in perfect condition! We will definitely utilize Alicia's services again! She is an excellent dog sitter!”

“Chelsea watched our dogs in February while we went to Disneyland. We were so happy with the way things turned out that we asked if she would travel to Arcadia to watch our dogs while we went to a Dodger game. She accepted! Charlie & Sandee were happy to see Chelsea again and so were we! We could enjoy the game knowing they were loved and being taken care of.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Orange
Gabby did an amazing job dog sitting for our little fur baby Romeo. This was the first time we used Rover and I contacted Gabby based on her location and profile. Turned out to be the best decision I could’ve made for me and my wife. We were traveling with a pooch to catch some games in Anaheim and Gabby was available to take care of our little guy Saturday and Sunday. Gabby was very attentive, she sent pictures and videos and really made the experience special and worthwhile. If you need the services and you’re in Orange, California, try to book Gabby you won’t be disappointed.

5 Paws!!!!! (stars;) If we could give more than five stars, we absolutely would! From the moment we left, we knew our three dogs and our home were in the very best hands. They sent frequent updates and adorable pictures that made us smile and gave us complete peace of mind. They were always quick to respond, incredibly thoughtful, and treated our dogs like they were their own. It was obvious how much love, attention, and care they gave them. When we came home, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. That says everything. Finding people you trust enough to stay in your home and care for your pets is priceless, and we feel so lucky to have found them. We truly hope they'll be available every time for us because we wouldn't hesitate for a second to invite them back. We recommend them with complete confidence to anyone looking for caring, trustworthy, dependable, and genuinely wonderful pet sitters. Thank you for taking such incredible care of our home and our furry family!

Ashley was wonderful in taking care of my 2 mini dachshunds. She communicated frequently with texts and photos of my dogs and was very respectful in my home. My request was super short notice too with only 3 hours before I had to leave town. She saved me in a pinch and I would love to have her back!! Thank you again :)

This was my first time Katrina to take care of my rescue. Marley is a special case and can be very skittish around new people. Marley opened right up to Katrina which just shows how great a job she did. I would absolutely recommend Katrina for anyone and will be reaching out to her for my next booking.

Alicia was highly recommended from a friend and we were happy to find she had availability when we needed help! Alicia is wonderful with our 2 labs. This is her second time with them and it means so much to know we are leaving our babies in trusted hands. We love the multi-daily pics and updates. Thank you Alicia!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Orange on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 8,698 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Orange. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orange walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orange maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orange choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orange. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
