Chelsea was amazing with our two pups! We needed a sitter to watch our dogs in our hotel room while we enjoyed Disneyland as a family. We had never left them with a sitter before and was nervous about leaving them for the first time. Chelsea put our minds at ease with her amazing communication, flexibility when we had to make some change in travel plans and sent us pictures and video clips of our pups throughout the day when she watched them. We would not hesitate using them again the next time we’re in town for vacation.

Jenn is an absolute ROCKSTAR that literally saved our family vacation! Our service animals travel with us as a family but their specific tasks, hotel policies, and Disneyland as an environment meant we were in need of last minute, emergent care. Jenn came through for us and exceeded our expectations, becoming like family! We wish she lived nearer to us, but Anaheim is lucky to have her. She took wonderful care of our boys as well as our suite, and went above and beyond. If you’re looking for the best… Jenn knocks it out of the park and you’ll be so glad you chose her! I know we are!

In addition to all the wonderful information on Tracy’s profile and the glowing reviews, I was immediately impressed by our initial communication. She was responsive, thoughtful, and asked great questions about my dogs’ needs. When she arrived at our home, I was equally impressed by her friendliness, calm presence, and overall great energy. My dogs have very different personalities and needs, one is small and was born blind, and the other is a 100-pound, 6-month-old Irish Wolfhound puppy. They also need to be kept separated, which adds another layer of management. It can be a lot to navigate. I am very honest (probably to a fault!) about how much work my Irish Wolfhound puppy is, and Tracy wasn’t intimidated in the slightest. I mean, I really tried to scare her off and am so glad it didn't work. LOL. She handled everything confidently and compassionately, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were in her care. I couldn’t be happier with how the visit went. I would absolutely recommend Tracy and will definitely be using her again, and my boyfriend feels the same. It is nice to be on the same page.

About: Hello, my name is Maira and I’m a life long animal lover. I’ve had all kinds of pets and cared for everything from turtles to fish, hamsters and birds, a rabbit, cats and dogs. Although I love all animals, Dogs are where my heart melts! I’ve taken care of friend’s dogs as well as helped friends and family basic train their small and large breed dogs. I have 10+ years of experience with dogs of all sizes and ages including my 90lb high energy Doberman which taught me a lot. If you remember one thing from my page I hope it’s this; I will take care of your furry babies as if they were my own. Monday through Friday I am available 6:30am - 6:30pm to care for your furry family. Saturdays and Sundays I am available 7:00am -7:00pm. If you need me outside of this time frame please let me know. During a drop in visit, I let your fur child out for a potty break and ensure they have plenty of water, food, and treats (if you okay the treats before hand) then hang out, play, and love on them for the remainder of the 30mins. During a walk booking, I will pick up your dog for a walk around the neighborhood. Which can be part structural and part sniffing to mentally stimulate and not just physically work out. The goal is a happy healthy pupper (and yes a 10 y/o is still a pupper) you will receive photos of our adventures and a message informing you how your baby’s walk went. Rain or Shine! Your Dog’s safety is my top priority. If it’s too hot or it is raining we will alter our walks with either a rain jacket or walking indoors at a near by pet friendly store. I am prepared with towels, plenty of water and a pet first aid kit should we ever need anything.

About: I’m a lifelong dog owner and current Goldendoodle parent with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs for families in my neighborhood growing up, giving me experience with different breeds and personalities. I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely love being around dogs. I’ll treat your dog like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I work from home, which allows me to provide flexible, attentive care throughout the day. I’m available for walks, feeding, medication administration, and regular potty breaks as needed. Your dog will receive plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship, and I can easily adjust to their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and stress-free. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I work from home, so they’ll have consistent supervision, attention, and care. My home is clean and dog-friendly, and I have a gentle, well-socialized Goldendoodle. I follow each dog’s routine closely, including walks, feeding, and medication if needed. I also provide updates so you can feel confident your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for.

Whitney is simply wonderful, and an amazing house and cat sitter. Our original sitter had to cancel a few days before leaving on a trip, and we were incredibly fortunate to find Whitney. She is very punctual, and kept our kitty’s schedule and routine going smoothly while we were away. She is great at communicating, letting us know when she first arrived and with daily updates and pictures. Her care for our home and especially for our kitty put us at ease while we were away. She is very neat and tidy and went above and beyond cleaning before she left and we arrived back home. Thank you kindly Whitney for spending the week with our kitty! We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. Holly cow!! If you can, book Tiffany!! We needed someone to spend a FULL day (15 hours+!) with our three dogs. A 15 year old Husky, a 7 year old Husky, and a 5 year old Australian shepherd. Our Aussie is very skittish and nervous by nature and does not do well with strangers. But Tiffany had her calm in minutes!!! And to top that, our Aussie even cuddled up with Tiffany!! Tiffany sent us updates and pictures throughout the day to ease our minds, read to the dogs, and watched movies with them to make them feel at home! I can not express how much Tiffany eased our minds and allowed my family and I to spend a full day at Disneyland without worry!! I'll for be calling Tiffany any time my family and I need a dog sitter when we're in town!

FAQs for House Sitting - Atwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Atwood on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 10,651 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Atwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Atwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Atwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Atwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Atwood. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
