“Can’t say enough good things about Sarah! Loved her interaction with my fur babies, loved her desire to learn about my dogs and ask questions, love the pictures and communication….. and absolutely love her professionalism . I believe Sarah will succeed at anything she chooses to do because of her great work ethic. Will definitely use her again!”
“This is the 2nd time I have used Kristen and I’m so happy that I found here. My pups are my babies and I hate leaving them but she made me feel okay about leaving them. She sent me check in photos daily and made sure to follow our schedule. Thank you Kristen ❤️”

“We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. She followed all of our requests and Hazel really liked Tina. She (Tina, not Hazel) left the house clean and tidy. We have already made arrangements to hire Tina again. We recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“Lena was an amazing caregiver for our two dogs while we were out of the country on vacation. She fully demonstrated all the attributes of an exceptional dog sitter— responsible, caring, conscientious, communicative, and nurturing. We would not hesitate to hire her again to watch our dogs and are deeply appreciative of her wonderful care of Remy and Tucker and for also looking after our home while we were gone. Lena is a true gem!”

“Yerim was wonderful! She took great care of our critters & house, and had no problem providing special care for our pup when a last minute health issue arose. We would be happy to hire her again!”

“Ashley was a great sitter for Lucy. She was very polite and gentle. Her communication skills are excellent. This was the first time Ashley took care of Lucy and Lucy was settled in with her very quickly. I would definitely ask Ashly to house sit Lucy again and would highly recommend her for other pet parents.”

“Ruth was amazing!!! She stayed with Zeus for 8 days. He loved her. She had a lot of patience. She would always communicate with me. Friendly. You can tell she has a love for what she does. Zeus has some anxiety but with Ruth he was fine. She is the new sitter for him and we will definitely be working with her in the near future. We recommend her to any fur parents. I was so nervous but at the end it was the best decision!! Thank you!!”

“There aren’t enough words to describe how great our experience with Fabienne was. She watched our dog, Louie, for 6 nights over the Christmas holiday. The peace of mind we felt, knowing our dog was being well cared for, was invaluable! From the very beginning, Fabienne was excellent at communicating with us and always responded promptly. She came early on our departure day to ensure a smooth transition. We received daily updates and photos. Honestly, I’m going to miss talking to Fabienne daily! We will absolutely be hiring her for future dog sitting. So grateful to have found such a caring and trusted dog sitter! Fabienne is incredible!”

“Jacqueline is a very soft-spoken and kind lady who took care of our Nutella at our home for a little over two days. Our cat was very well cared for and we received multiple daily photos showing her activity, making us feel very comfortable about having left our cat in Jacqueline's care. She also took very good care of the home. We are very happy with the help Jacqueline gave us in caring for our cat when we were away and will easily consider her for the next time we have a similar need !”

“Athena was fantastic! She took exceptional care of our senior GSD, played soccer with her, rescued her from an unexpected dip in our spa (ball chasing), and communicated clearly. Bonus, she is a great pet photographer and we received several frame-worthy photos and really fun videos while we were away. Highly recommend.”

About: Hello! I am a friendly dog loving sitter who has years of experience. I personally have two dogs and have done dog sitting for friends and family throughout the years. I’m respectful of owners rules and wishes also respectful of space. I’m currently a college student and have a lot of time to play, walk and give enough attention to a dog while sitting. I’m usually available when I don’t have class and have no other extracurriculars on. I’m pretty flexible! I make sure pets are comfortable in their own home but also follow owners instructions. If you need me to stick to crate training or medication schedule I will do so
“Jade did a great job of taking care of our dog, Lily, while we were on vacation out of the country. She was very responsive and sent us pictures daily. She left our home in great condition as well. Our pup was excited to see us when we returned, but not overly excited, which made it clear that she was well taken care of and well entertained while we were gone. We would definitely recommend Jade to other pet owners and plan to hire her again in the future!”

I currently only have classes on mondays for half of the day and the rest of the time i am free to care and watch your animals! I will treat your home and animals with the same respect i would at my own house with my own animals because i know it can be nerve racking to have someone new in your house with your babies
About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats and more, including two years at an animal clinic where I administered medications, handled feeding, cleaning, and made sure pets felt safe and comfortable. I understand animal behavior and take a calm, attentive approach—caring for pets isn’t just what I do, it’s my passion, and I treat every animal like my own. In your home, I provide respectful, compassionate care while honoring your space and privacy. I follow your pet’s routine closely to keep things familiar and stress-free, and I treat your home with the same care and professionalism as I do your pets. “Laura has been our sitter for several years now, and we’re so grateful for her! She takes wonderful care of our cats, and keeps us updated the whole time. We’d be lost without her!”

“Ms. Chelsea & Richard are like family when they come to take care of our fur babies. She's thorough in her updates, asks questions when necessary and communicates clearly. Our pets are always happy when we get back! ❤️”

“I was so scared to leave my dog for the first time with a sitter. He has such high anxiety and I didn’t know what to expect. Kelsey was so nice and understanding with us. She sent pictures of our sweet boy everyday! We will definitely be using her again! She’s the best!”

“Maggie is amazing! She was in constant contact with me, sent many pictures and videos, which I asked her to do. My dogs love her so much and I know they were very well taken care of. I found her kind of last minute, she was available and accommodating to my time. I highly recommend Maggie, I am beyond happy I found her, and will definitely rebook next time!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Atwood
This was our first time leaving Zeus and Zara at home during a longer trip, and Lauren really helped us feel at ease. She followed their schedule, fed them on time, spent quality time playing with them and kept us updated throughout our trip. She also accommodated our last-minute request to extend their care. Most importantly, our dogs trust and absolutely love her. They were happy and well cared for when we returned, and we’re very grateful!

We went out of state for 5 days and had never left our cat so I was wanting someone at the house with her and so the house would not be vacant - We were very happy with Kelsey! She came over to meet with us first and we really liked her. She took good care of our cat, fish and even the outside animals / birds as I requested which meant a lot to me (not a typical request but she was great about it!) We loved how she asked questions when she had any via text. She also sent us a lot of pictures which was great! We recommend Kelsey!

Lena is amazing. Kind, responsible, responsive, exact, caring, gentle, honest, capable, safe…all the characteristics you need and want in a furbaby sitter. She stayed in my home with my furchild, Summer, sent pictures and videos often, followed my detailed, and particular, directions exactly, and most importantly, Summer loves her!! Lena made my time away from Summer bearable. Will request Lena again soon, and without reservation.

Ryan is simply wonderful. He stayed with our dog and cat for 6 days. He immediately became friends with our dog (and she’s quite a handful). Our cat didn’t accept him right away, but he wasn’t put off and found an approach with her - and after just 2 days they were already best friends. He always sent us photo updates and wrote about how the animals were doing. We can see that our pets didn’t miss us at all while Ryan was with them. He’s now number one on our list of pet sitters. Thank you so much.

Whitney is simply wonderful, and an amazing house and cat sitter. Our original sitter had to cancel a few days before leaving on a trip, and we were incredibly fortunate to find Whitney. She is very punctual, and kept our kitty’s schedule and routine going smoothly while we were away. She is great at communicating, letting us know when she first arrived and with daily updates and pictures. Her care for our home and especially for our kitty put us at ease while we were away. She is very neat and tidy and went above and beyond cleaning before she left and we arrived back home. Thank you kindly Whitney for spending the week with our kitty! For those looking for a wonderful cat sitter, Whitney is absolutely one of the greatest.

We had a wonderful experience! She was gentle, sweet, and incredibly accommodating. My little poochies felt calm, comfortable, and well cared for in her presence. It gave me great peace of mind knowing they were with someone so kind and attentive. I would gladly trust her with my dogs again and highly recommend her to others!" 🐾💕
We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. She followed all of our requests and Hazel really liked Tina. She (Tina, not Hazel) left the house clean and tidy. We have already made arrangements to hire Tina again. We recommend her wholeheartedly.

Brittney was amazing with our 11 week old puppy. I was so nervous about leaving him due to a work event, but was immediately set at ease with her calm personality and loving demeanor. I got updates and pictures regularly and was able to do what I needed to do for my job while knowing my puppy was safe and loved. Thank you!!!

Mattie always does a great job with our pets and our house. Our dog gets very anxious when we leave and has had chewing and potty issues with other pet sitters. Mattie gives her the love and attention she needs to calm her nerves and we have had zero issues with her as our pet sitter.
Allessandra was awesome! She came in clutch for me last minute and was amazing with the house and dogs. She sent pictures, updates, and was super communicative. She followed directions perfectly and left the house clean, which is the best to come home to. Would definitely rebook again!

Delany was amazing. She took great care of my special needs yorkie. She kept in contact the whole time we were away and treated Toushi like he was her own. I was super lucky she was available during the holidays and I will definitely use her again. I totally recommend her to take care of your pets.
Holly cow!! If you can, book Tiffany!! We needed someone to spend a FULL day (15 hours+!) with our three dogs. A 15 year old Husky, a 7 year old Husky, and a 5 year old Australian shepherd. Our Aussie is very skittish and nervous by nature and does not do well with strangers. But Tiffany had her calm in minutes!!! And to top that, our Aussie even cuddled up with Tiffany!! Tiffany sent us updates and pictures throughout the day to ease our minds, read to the dogs, and watched movies with them to make them feel at home! I can not express how much Tiffany eased our minds and allowed my family and I to spend a full day at Disneyland without worry!! I'll for be calling Tiffany any time my family and I need a dog sitter when we're in town!

As of September 2026, there are 10,689 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Atwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Atwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Atwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Atwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Atwood. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
