We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. She followed all of our requests and Hazel really liked Tina. She (Tina, not Hazel) left the house clean and tidy. We have already made arrangements to hire Tina again. We recommend her wholeheartedly.

I can’t say enough about Kirsten!! BEST dog sitter I have ever had! We had her stay with our very high anxiety dog for 9 days in our home. We recently had to put down our other two dogs and Bentley has been so depressed and we were so worried about boarding him or just having drop ins because he would be by himself. I requested someone that could stay with him the entire time and Kirsten did just that! She came and met him two weeks before and he takes some time to get to know someone, but by the second day he just loved her. She kept him in his routine even letting him sleep with her like he does us. Walked him daily, let him play in the hose daily (one of his favorite things) Sat with him out in yard, played catch with him another favorite thing and checked in everyday with pictures and videos. She went over and beyond…took our trash cans in and out on trash day, took in our mail and packages, emptied our dishwasher, hosed yard everyday, stripped and washed her bedding and washed dog blankets on couch, cleaned bathroom and kitchen. My house was just as I left it. We were also welcomed home with a sweet note and gift for Bentley! She is the BEST and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was so well taken care of like family ❤️ Our last dog sitter was terrible and i was a wreck the entire time, not this time! She will be the only one I will use from now on!! Highly recommend if you are looking for someone to take care of your pets the same as you would!! Thank you again Kirsten!!!

About: I have grown up having and taking care of dogs my whole life, as well as looking after friends' dogs while they are away. I truly believe that a pet is apart of the family and should be treated as such. When sitting dogs I am willing to take extra time and put in the effort to make sure they are fed, exercised, hydrated, and loved as they would be with their family. I am a student-athlete home from college for the summer. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to spend mornings, midday check ins, and evenings with your pets. I am available to stay overnight if needed. I see pet sitting as an opportunity rather than a task, being excited to look after a part of your family. I am able to take dogs on long walks and keep up with high-energy play time, but I am just as happy providing a calm environment for a more relaxed dog. I am extremely respectful of your space and privacy. I follow all house rules regarding 'off-limits' furniture, feeding schedules, and security protocols; ensuring all doors and gates are double-checked and locked after every visit. Your pet and home's safety, as well as your peace of mind, are my top priorities. I keep dogs on a short, secure leash during walks and avoid high-traffic areas.

Kelsey did a great job watching our Dogs Sophie and Raleigh. Sophie is a Malinois and a bit difficult for new people to deal with. Kelsey was patient with Sophie and they became fast friends. My wife and I really liked that Kelsey works remotely and was able to be around the dogs most of the day at our house while we were gone. Our house and our dogs were in great shape when we got back.

About: I have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats and more, including two years at an animal clinic where I administered medications, handled feeding, cleaning, and made sure pets felt safe and comfortable. I’ve also worked as a dog pack walker, managed group walks, and provided pet sitting, house sitting, and drop-in visits. I understand animal behavior and take a calm, attentive approach—caring for pets isn’t just what I do, it’s my passion, and I treat every animal like my own. I am working full time, but available in the evenings or for walks and on the weekends I can do check ins and walks! I’m more than happy to take your baby on a short or a looong walk. In your home, I provide respectful, compassionate care while honoring your space and privacy. I follow your pet’s routine closely to keep things familiar and stress-free, and I treat your home with the same care and professionalism as I do your pets. I’m clean, reliable, and attentive, making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well-loved while you’re away.

There aren’t enough words to describe how great our experience with Fabienne was. She watched our dog, Louie, for 6 nights over the Christmas holiday. The peace of mind we felt, knowing our dog was being well cared for, was invaluable! From the very beginning, Fabienne was excellent at communicating with us and always responded promptly. She came early on our departure day to ensure a smooth transition. We received daily updates and photos. Honestly, I’m going to miss talking to Fabienne daily! We will absolutely be hiring her for future dog sitting. So grateful to have found such a caring and trusted dog sitter! Fabienne is incredible!

About: Growing up with dogs all my life pets always felt like family members. Out of college, I worked at a doggy daycare, the Bone Adventure, where I learned a large range of skills. Sitting on the ground and hand feeding dogs that are having nervous bellies, picking up on body language, doggy first aid, as well as a general knowledge of pet care. I enjoy working with puppies as well as senior dogs and cats as well. I love taking dogs on walks and discovering their method of play. I’m available any day of the week I love getting out of the house and visiting with people’s pets, I love long walks, short walks, playing fetch, and lots of pats. I typically like to follow the owners instructions to the tea and adhering to the animal's normal routine to reduce any stress. I enjoy engaging with their toys and treats and giving lots of love and affection.

About: I have been around dogs since I was born! I currently have two dogs (1 medium & 1 large) and I love taking care of them. I have always been a huge animal lover and I would to share some of that love with your pet. I am currently home from college and am looking for some part-time work to bridge my gap between quarters. I do not currently have any other jobs lined up so I am very available for pet-sitting/walking. In a clients home, I would be able to spend a ton of time with your pet! Playing, feeding, and giving them some love. Depending on what a client needs, I can provide that for them.

Kelsey was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of my husky and my Bengal cat while I was out of town, and I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She was very communicative throughout the entire stay, sending regular updates and making sure I knew how they were doing. It was clear she genuinely cared about my pets and treated them like her own. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for animals. Whitney is simply wonderful, and an amazing house and cat sitter. Our original sitter had to cancel a few days before leaving on a trip, and we were incredibly fortunate to find Whitney. She is very punctual, and kept our kitty’s schedule and routine going smoothly while we were away. She is great at communicating, letting us know when she first arrived and with daily updates and pictures. Her care for our home and especially for our kitty put us at ease while we were away. She is very neat and tidy and went above and beyond cleaning before she left and we arrived back home. Thank you kindly Whitney for spending the week with our kitty! Holly cow!! If you can, book Tiffany!! We needed someone to spend a FULL day (15 hours+!) with our three dogs. A 15 year old Husky, a 7 year old Husky, and a 5 year old Australian shepherd. Our Aussie is very skittish and nervous by nature and does not do well with strangers. But Tiffany had her calm in minutes!!! And to top that, our Aussie even cuddled up with Tiffany!! Tiffany sent us updates and pictures throughout the day to ease our minds, read to the dogs, and watched movies with them to make them feel at home! I can not express how much Tiffany eased our minds and allowed my family and I to spend a full day at Disneyland without worry!! I'll for be calling Tiffany any time my family and I need a dog sitter when we're in town!

FAQs for House Sitting - Atwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Atwood on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 10,651 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Atwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Atwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Atwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Atwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Atwood. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
