“Kirsten is a godsend! She handled my 2 needy dogs and 4 cats without any problem! I felt totally relaxed knowing my babies were well taken care of ! I highly recommend her 😊”

“We have a very active 60 lb. dog who requires a daily hike. Tina took Hazel out for an hour each day, and when it proved too hot in the afternoon she switched to mornings. She followed all of our requests and Hazel really liked Tina. She (Tina, not Hazel) left the house clean and tidy. We have already made arrangements to hire Tina again. We recommend her wholeheartedly.”

“Can’t say enough good things about Sarah! Loved her interaction with my fur babies, loved her desire to learn about my dogs and ask questions, love the pictures and communication….. and absolutely love her professionalism . I believe Sarah will succeed at anything she chooses to do because of her great work ethic. Will definitely use her again!”
“Fabienne is an excellent dog sitter. She took such great care of my dog and my home while I was on a 3 night trip. She provided multiple updates each day, including photos. I came home to such a happy dog and the house was exactly how I left it. I highly recommend her to others!”

“Esther is such an amazing person , so positive, loving, and full of warmth! She cared for my dogs and cats with so much love and even helped me organize my home. She’s truly perfect, and I’ll definitely work with her again. I trust her completely with my babies and can’t recommend her enough!”

“Lena has been working with me to get my disabled dog to walk and I am thankful to have this assistance. Teamwork in action! So thankful to have her as our dog sitter. She is responsible and always responsive when I need to talk to her. Thank you always Lena!”

About: I have grown up having and taking care of dogs my whole life, as well as looking after friends' dogs while they are away. I truly believe that a pet is apart of the family and should be treated as such. When sitting dogs I am willing to take extra time and put in the effort to make sure they are fed, exercised, hydrated, and loved as they would be with their family. I am a student-athlete home from college for the summer. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to spend mornings, midday check ins, and evenings with your pets. I am available to stay overnight if needed. I see pet sitting as an opportunity rather than a task, being excited to look after a part of your family. I am able to take dogs on long walks and keep up with high-energy play time, but I am just as happy providing a calm environment for a more relaxed dog. I am extremely respectful of your space and privacy. I follow all house rules regarding 'off-limits' furniture, feeding schedules, and security protocols; ensuring all doors and gates are double-checked and locked after every visit. Your pet and home's safety, as well as your peace of mind, are my top priorities. I keep dogs on a short, secure leash during walks and avoid high-traffic areas.
About: I have a lot of experience watching all types of animals all ages and sizes and will treat every single animal like they are my own animal! I currently only have classes on mondays for half of the day and the rest of the time i am free to care and watch your animals! I will treat your home and animals with the same respect i would at my own house with my own animals because i know it can be nerve racking to have someone new in your house with your babies

About: I have a passion for nature, art, and animals. I grew up around many different kinds of animals from dogs, goats, chickens, reptiles, and more. I am always thrilled to meet a new friend. I started pet-sitting in high school and I have always loved it. I worked in a grooming salon for a year and have the supplies for brushing, nail and paw pad trimming, sanitary trims, gland expression, at home baths, and more. Just ask me about my rates. I truly enjoy having animals in my day-to-day life. Being able to closely interact with pets and see their individual personalities makes each interaction special. I love pets of all kinds and I strive to meet the unique needs of every animal in my care. I will try to provide as much mental stimulation and exercise as I can for your pet and I will make sure to include fun photos in each Rover card. My schedule is usually pretty open on weekdays so just reach out to me and I'll let you know what time I'm available. I always love getting to know each pet's personality and quirks. I value the trust of every animal I interact with, and I work to understand their needs and boundaries. As I have pets of my own, I am unable to provide care within my own home, but I will happily come to yours to spend time with your pet.
About: Hi! My name is Nikki, I just graduated from UCSC with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a B.A. in Psychology and am now training as an EMT. I have a 3 year old cat named Mr. Whiskers that I adopted during my time in Santa Cruz and quite a few family pets - a 13 year old standard poodle, a 13 year old yorkie-poo, a 5 year old miniature labradoodle, and a 1 year old cat (along with a tortoise and some other exotic pets!). I have always loved dog-sitting for my neighbors, with breeds including german shepherds, golden retrievers, labs, doodles, jack russel's, and other mixed breeds. I'd been consistently dog-sitting for 4 years until I took a break being in Santa Cruz, since my client base is in Socal, but had committed myself to caring for my own cat and my friend's pets when they are out of town. When it comes to caring for your pet, I will dedicate just as much love and care as I do my own! Additionally, my cat has unfortunately had to deal with some urinary issues causing him to be on a permanent urinary prescription diet and having to take meds during his flare-ups. Because of this, I completely understand the struggles of caring for a loved pet with health issues. It has allowed me to be very comfortable with administering both pill and liquid forms of medication to pets and punctual with needed times of administration. I would love to take care of your fur babies for enrichment, feeding, playing, and anything you already do with them that helps them feel happy and comfortable! I am currently training as an EMT and doing a part time internship but have time before and after both of these to spend time with your pets! I am super flexible with the environment that I am in to care for your pets and want them to feel as comfortable as possible while their owners are gone. I have no problem following very specific routines for your pet's needs!

“Yerim was wonderful! She took great care of our critters & house, and had no problem providing special care for our pup when a last minute health issue arose. We would be happy to hire her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a teenager. Friends and family completely trust their fur babies in my care. I treat every dog as my own. I currently work full-time in an office but I have flexibility to care for your fur babies when needed. I’m available during the week early morning or at noon and also have open availability on the weekends when needed. I have a fenced yard and also a very large park area in my community to take my pup and yours for a walk. When watching pups in others home I make sure to follow exact instructions left and treat every pet with the upmost love and respect
“Katherine was excellent and very communicative. We had complete peace of mind about her care for our dog while we were out of town and will definitely contact her again in the future!”

“Jacqueline is a very soft-spoken and kind lady who took care of our Nutella at our home for a little over two days. Our cat was very well cared for and we received multiple daily photos showing her activity, making us feel very comfortable about having left our cat in Jacqueline's care. She also took very good care of the home. We are very happy with the help Jacqueline gave us in caring for our cat when we were away and will easily consider her for the next time we have a similar need !”

“Ashley was a great sitter for Lucy. She was very polite and gentle. Her communication skills are excellent. This was the first time Ashley took care of Lucy and Lucy was settled in with her very quickly. I would definitely ask Ashly to house sit Lucy again and would highly recommend her for other pet parents.”

“Athena was amazing. She is reliable, trustworthy and a kind hearted person. Athena was wonderful with our dog who has separation anxiety. For us knowing our dog is in good hands and well taken care of is extremely important. Athena was quick replying to messages, sent daily photos and kept us updated which gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend Athena and without a doubt will select her again.”
“Maggie took great care of our pups while we were on vacation for 5 days. She walked them daily gave them lots of love and provided lots of photos and communication. We will definitely hire her in the future. Thank you Maggie!”

About: I have been both a cat and dog owner, and have taken care of friends' pets before. I do not have experience training puppies or taking care of senior or special needs animals! But I am responsible, responsive, and flexible. I like going for walks and also just relaxing with your pets at home. I am also more than happy to do other services like feeding fish, watering plants, and taking in mail for longer house sitting bookings. I have an open and flexible schedule! I just graduated with my masters and don't start my full time job for another few months. I can pretty much be available all throughout the day. I will not be offering pet boarding in my home, but rest assured I will treat your own home with the utmost respect. I have no interest in your personal belongings, and I would never leave behind a mess. I'm just a 20-something looking to go for walks to slim down and make extra money while I enjoy my summer before starting my full-time job.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Yorba Linda
I can’t say enough about Kirsten!! BEST dog sitter I have ever had! We had her stay with our very high anxiety dog for 9 days in our home. We recently had to put down our other two dogs and Bentley has been so depressed and we were so worried about boarding him or just having drop ins because he would be by himself. I requested someone that could stay with him the entire time and Kirsten did just that! She came and met him two weeks before and he takes some time to get to know someone, but by the second day he just loved her. She kept him in his routine even letting him sleep with her like he does us. Walked him daily, let him play in the hose daily (one of his favorite things) Sat with him out in yard, played catch with him another favorite thing and checked in everyday with pictures and videos. She went over and beyond…took our trash cans in and out on trash day, took in our mail and packages, emptied our dishwasher, hosed yard everyday, stripped and washed her bedding and washed dog blankets on couch, cleaned bathroom and kitchen. My house was just as I left it. We were also welcomed home with a sweet note and gift for Bentley! She is the BEST and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was so well taken care of like family ❤️ Our last dog sitter was terrible and i was a wreck the entire time, not this time! She will be the only one I will use from now on!! Highly recommend if you are looking for someone to take care of your pets the same as you would!! Thank you again Kirsten!!!

I can’t wait enough kind words about Michelle’s. Our boy Rocco is already missing her and it’s only been one day. Her daily check-ins and photos were always wonderful and helped alleviate any stresses while we were away. I highly recommend her for anyone who is on the fence about finding someone who will treat their dog like their road and their house. Thank you, Michelle. Rocco can’t wait to see you again.

Brittney was amazing with our 11 week old puppy. I was so nervous about leaving him due to a work event, but was immediately set at ease with her calm personality and loving demeanor. I got updates and pictures regularly and was able to do what I needed to do for my job while knowing my puppy was safe and loved. Thank you!!!

Mattie always does a great job with our pets and our house. Our dog gets very anxious when we leave and has had chewing and potty issues with other pet sitters. Mattie gives her the love and attention she needs to calm her nerves and we have had zero issues with her as our pet sitter.
Holly cow!! If you can, book Tiffany!! We needed someone to spend a FULL day (15 hours+!) with our three dogs. A 15 year old Husky, a 7 year old Husky, and a 5 year old Australian shepherd. Our Aussie is very skittish and nervous by nature and does not do well with strangers. But Tiffany had her calm in minutes!!! And to top that, our Aussie even cuddled up with Tiffany!! Tiffany sent us updates and pictures throughout the day to ease our minds, read to the dogs, and watched movies with them to make them feel at home! I can not express how much Tiffany eased our minds and allowed my family and I to spend a full day at Disneyland without worry!! I'll for be calling Tiffany any time my family and I need a dog sitter when we're in town!
I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received! Ashley went above and beyond-she was not only attentive and loving with my pup, but also thoughtful and respectful in taking care of my home. It's clear she truly cares and takes pride in her work. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was in such good hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, caring and hardworking sitter!

Thank you Ariel for another wonderful sit with Martini and Frida! They adore you and Brandon so much and always look forward to your stays here. We are so fortunate to have found you as you give them the best care we have ever had from any sitter. Your photos, videos, updates always make my day and I can tell they are in such great hands and happy while we are away! If anyone reading Ariel's reviews is apprehensive leaving their fur baby in someone else's care, do yourself a favor and hire her. They will be in the best hands possible.

FAQs for House Sitting - Yorba Linda
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Yorba Linda on Rover is $66.43 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 11,230 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Yorba Linda. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Yorba Linda walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Yorba Linda maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Yorba Linda choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yorba Linda. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
