“It was Emma's fourth time staying at Ly's house. She wagged her tail and disappeared through the door with Ly and her family without looking back. It was such a wonderful sign! (and it made me a little jealous 😆) Our adorable and slightly wary dog, Emma, has completely opened up to Ly's family. We are thrilled and fortunate to have found Ly and Daniel! Thank you as always!”

“I took my two dogs to Crystal so we could go to Disneyland and she kept me updated with a bunch of pictures and updates! Which made me feel like my dogs were in a safe place which they were and they were always happy when I came to pick them up! 10/10 would recommended Crystal and will definitely be taking them to her again!”

“Xiaomeng was awesome! I never did Rover or homesitting before and was scared but I’m so relieved to know that my dog Benji had a fantastic time. He basically came home all calm and his usual self which tells me Xiaomeng was accommodating and loving to Benji. She was responsive throughout and was extremely kind. I recommend!! If you were iffy about sending your pet to someone dont worry Xiaomeng will put those thoughts away”

“We had the best experience with Anthony. He’s kind and attentive. Takes the dogs for walks and sends pictures. My dogs went right to him both days. Thanks for your help. I’m sure we’ll see you soon!”

About: We love creatures of all kinds! Dogs, cats, reptiles and more. I work from home full time and just had to put my sweet Arya to rest. My family loves to care for animals and enjoys them in the home. Lots of TLC, big fenced in yard and lots of snuggles. Kids are 16, 10 and 10. I work from home full time as a client support consultant. I also homeschool my three children (ages 16, 10 and 10). I am home all day! There are some sport activities that require a drop off around 3pm, but home most of the day with availability to feed, walk and care for your pets. I would be with your pet most of the day. Doors are secured with a fenced in yard with lots of grass and shade. Food is tucked away and children in the home are older and very familiar with caring for pets and keeping them safe.
“Jolina is the sweetest, most loving person with my fur baby. By day 2 of daycare I was worried my pup liked her more than me! Seeing my dog run to Jolina with her wiggly butt was the most reassuring sign that her daycare has been enjoyable and safe. Jolina is also incredibly responsive and provides updates with the cutest photos throughout the day. Booking with her = peace of mind that my dog is receiving the most trustworthy care :)”

“Bella was an amazing dog sitter! She was very responsible and took such great care of our puppy. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Hasbi has been going to Rachel & Kevin for doggy day care a couple of times now and he’s always excited to join them! They always keep me updated and send me pics of Hasbi & Pika hanging out. Couldn’t recommend them enough! ☺️”

“Melissa was simply wonderful! We value the services of a professional who says what they will do, and then does exactly that! That’s Melissa. Our pet dog Bella is like one of our children, so we were having separation anxiety over leaving her for the day with a stranger. We met Melissa in a “meet and greet” at her home, and immediately were put at ease by her manner. Once we dropped Bella off for doggy day care, Melissa sent us a couple of pictures showing Bella on her blanket, relaxing in her new environment. Soon thereafter she sent us several new pictures as she took Bella for a walk, and Bella looked as if she was having a great day! Melissa treats your pet as if the pet were her own, and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We will book Melissa again, and we’re looking forward to boarding Bella with Melissa for several days in January when we travel up to Seattle to visit our son.”

“Cynthia is a reliable and trustworthy sitter. We felt at ease knowing Pepsie was in good hands. She was available on short notice and very accommodating . We will definitely be using Cynthia again in the future. Thank you for taking such good care of our furry family member!”

“Adrianne is fantastic and always our go-to!!! Oliver always has a great time! She keeps us well informed during his stays with multiple pictures and messages. We highly recommend her!!”

“Celeste and Joaquin were amazing! I had them take care of my staffy for 3 consecutive days and it almost got to the point that my dog didn't want to leave them lol they took really good care of her. They kept me updated with pictures and videos. Drop offs and pick-ups were easy. Communication was consistent. Their dog was really friendly. I can go on and on about the quality of experience I had. I 100% recommend them if you're looking for a sitter.”

“Tess is absolutely wonderful and will be very accommodating to your dogs specific needs. I knew my girl would have a great time with her. She sent updates with pictures and videos which was lovely and much appreciated. Thank you for being so patient with Kamea, Tess ??”

“Josh is the best dog sitter I know! I can tell that he genuinely loves dogs, especially when he shares photos that he takes of Haru when they’re spending time together. Haru is always smiling in those photos, probably because she’s being taken care of very well 😊 I don’t have to worry about her whenever Josh is taking care of her. Haru is definitely a high energy dog but when she’s with Josh, it feels like she’s able to release a lot of her energy. At the end of the day, I feel so glad that I placed her under Josh’s care because she seems so rested and happy :) Always booking with Josh if he is available👍🏻”

“Natalia was amazing and made us feel super at ease leaving our two doodles Bhodi and Gizmo while we went and showed our visiting family around LA on two different days. She and her sons were so friendly and loving to our boys and she provided updates, pics and even videos. She followed our feeding instructions great and took them for a walk both days together. Gizmo is fear reactive of other dogs and she handled any dog encounters amazingly. They were also happy to receive some carrots and apples as treats! Will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Abby took exceptional care of my two dogs. They had a fantastic time with him. He is very attentive and thoughtful. Communication was prompt and responsive. Abby has five stars from me! I highly recommend him and will be checking his availability for future dog sitting/daycare appointments.”

Another great dog sitting experience with Sandy!! Despite the fact that we dropped off our Pumpkin with a bandaged paw, Sandy took excellent care of him. He looks happy and content. Thank you again, Sandy, for your prompt communication, picture updates and overall care.

Minji was great. My little Neo has soo much fun playing along with her lovely dogs, that he crashed as soon as we got home! Her responses were quick and sent updates with pictures and vids which really reassured us that he was being taken care of really well. I love the routine she has for her dogs. Will definitely be booking again!

We just picked up our dog and he looks like he had a blast! This is the first time our dog stayed with Heather and looks like he feels safe there. She provides updates and is great with her communications. Thank you Heather for taking care of our scaredy dog!

I can only say that I was truly amazed. I’ve used dog boarding services on other platforms before, but this was my first time using Rover and choosing a home boarding family. I never expected that my dog would be so reluctant to leave. He didn’t want to go out, and even after going outside, he kept turning back, clearly wanting to return to the house. This makes me absolutely certain that my dog received so much love, care, and companionship during his stay. I believe it may be because the whole family was at home, and the presence of two children also gave him extra company and happiness. In short, I am extremely happy and satisfied. I will definitely recommend this to my friends. Thank you so much!
Xiaomeng was awesome! I never did Rover or homesitting before and was scared but I’m so relieved to know that my dog Benji had a fantastic time. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Yorba Linda commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
