“I just HAD to come back to Crystal and her family!!! Simply put, they genuinely love your pet and treat them with such genuine care and enthusiasm. My pup didn’t want to leave when I picked him up 😂 I’ve been so appreciative of their ability to handle my pup’s high energy (husky/Aussie shepherd mix) and the photo updates of Oliver having a fun and comfortable stay at their home. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies to Crystal and her family!”

“Xiaomeng was awesome! I never did Rover or homesitting before and was scared but I’m so relieved to know that my dog Benji had a fantastic time. He basically came home all calm and his usual self which tells me Xiaomeng was accommodating and loving to Benji. She was responsive throughout and was extremely kind. I recommend!! If you were iffy about sending your pet to someone dont worry Xiaomeng will put those thoughts away”

“We had the best experience with Anthony. He’s kind and attentive. Takes the dogs for walks and sends pictures. My dogs went right to him both days. Thanks for your help. I’m sure we’ll see you soon!”

About: We love creatures of all kinds! Dogs, cats, reptiles and more. I work from home full time and just had to put my sweet Arya to rest. My family loves to care for animals and enjoys them in the home. Lots of TLC, big fenced in yard and lots of snuggles. Kids are 16, 10 and 10. I work from home full time as a client support consultant. I also homeschool my three children (ages 16, 10 and 10). I am home all day! There are some sport activities that require a drop off around 3pm, but home most of the day with availability to feed, walk and care for your pets. I would be with your pet most of the day. Doors are secured with a fenced in yard with lots of grass and shade. Food is tucked away and children in the home are older and very familiar with caring for pets and keeping them safe.
“Celeste and Joaquin were amazing! I had them take care of my staffy for 3 consecutive days and it almost got to the point that my dog didn't want to leave them lol they took really good care of her. They kept me updated with pictures and videos. Drop offs and pick-ups were easy. Communication was consistent. Their dog was really friendly. I can go on and on about the quality of experience I had. I 100% recommend them if you're looking for a sitter.”

“Bella was an amazing dog sitter! She was very responsible and took such great care of our puppy. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Hasbi loved his stay with Rachel, Kevin and Pika! We got many lovely pics/ videos throughout the day. He & Pika were inseparable ☺️ Definitely will be booking again when needed!”

“Tess is absolutely wonderful and will be very accommodating to your dogs specific needs. I knew my girl would have a great time with her. She sent updates with pictures and videos which was lovely and much appreciated. Thank you for being so patient with Kamea, Tess ??”

“Jolina and Robert were so sweet and took care of my shy, skittish, and sometimes stubborn dog so well during a day trip to Disneyland. She can be slow to warm up to other people, but they were able to bribe her with treats and kindness. They sent plenty of photos and updates throughout the day and were really flexible with everything. If you are looking for a sitter in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to book Jolina and Robert!”

“I HIGHLY recommend Adrianne. My husband and I are very particular with who we trust our dog with and she does a fantastic job taking care of Oliver!! It is obvious that he has a great time when we take him there for daycare! She is very responsible, sends updates often, and takes him on multiple walks including hikes, which are his favorite! I HIGHLY recommend her if you’re interested in more individualized doggy care. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Adrianne!!!”

“2nd time with Melissa's doggie day care services, and we couldn't be happier with how she cared for our dog Bella. Our pup was treated like family, and she came home pooped (2 walks), happy and well adjusted. If you are looking for doggie day care services you cannot go wrong using Melissa D.!”

About: Growing up in a large family full of dogs, I learned to care for every size, age, and temperament. One of my first jobs was pet sitting for my aunt while she was out of town. She didn't need to pay me because I would have gladly watched her rottweiler puppy for free, but I found it incredibly rewarding to potty train and teach him tricks over the weekend. I couldn't believe I got paid to pay with a puppy! From then on, I took every opportunity as a kid and teenager to watch my friends' and family's pets. Only having a young pitbull at home, being able to take care of elderly or little dogs was a great learning experience. This gave me the skill set to train puppies, provide senior care such as mobility and bathroom assistance, and care for sick pets or pets with chronic health conditions. This experience has made me a well-rounded animal caretaker and cat dad. With my remote job, I am home full time and have the time and yard space to provide pet care services and boarding. My schedule is very flexible and I am available everyday. I have a fenced patio and two dog-friendly cats who stick to themselves and have their own space on the cat shelves. As long as your dog is cat friendly, I think they would get along great with a new canine friend in the house. Your fur baby's safety is of utmost importance, so I will follow any rules or preferences for your pet, such as leashing them outside, crating them, or even letting them cuddle on the couch! In your home, I will do the same and follow your house and pet parenting rules :)
About: Hi there! My experience includes taking care of many neighbor’s ,family, and friend’s dogs and cats since for years, and taking care of my own childhood dog till he passed away a few years ago. I love animals and am able to care for them the way they need! I am dedicated to loving your pet and keeping them safe and cared for! I’m currently just a student in college, I do online courses so I am free any day of the week, whenever you need me I can be there:) Your pet will be safe in my hands! I’m very gentle and loving and will care for them in the ways the owner asks! I’m very responsible and can handle any sort of task!
“Our experience with Karyn was super positive and easy from booking to pick up! To give you an idea of how well it went, our dog was going to go back in their house when we were trying to leave! The family and their dog, Charlie, were so friendly! We are already making arrangements for future visits!”

“Andrea really helped us in a last minute day care sit! She had great communication with us before she met Coco and while she was sitting Coco. She sent us pics to update us and when we got back he was super relaxed.”

Another great dog sitting experience with Sandy!! Despite the fact that we dropped off our Pumpkin with a bandaged paw, Sandy took excellent care of him. He looks happy and content. Thank you again, Sandy, for your prompt communication, picture updates and overall care.

Minji was great. My little Neo has soo much fun playing along with her lovely dogs, that he crashed as soon as we got home! Her responses were quick and sent updates with pictures and vids which really reassured us that he was being taken care of really well. I love the routine she has for her dogs. Will definitely be booking again!

We just picked up our dog and he looks like he had a blast! This is the first time our dog stayed with Heather and looks like he feels safe there. She provides updates and is great with her communications. Thank you Heather for taking care of our scaredy dog!

I can only say that I was truly amazed. I’ve used dog boarding services on other platforms before, but this was my first time using Rover and choosing a home boarding family. I never expected that my dog would be so reluctant to leave. He didn’t want to go out, and even after going outside, he kept turning back, clearly wanting to return to the house. This makes me absolutely certain that my dog received so much love, care, and companionship during his stay. I believe it may be because the whole family was at home, and the presence of two children also gave him extra company and happiness. In short, I am extremely happy and satisfied. I will definitely recommend this to my friends. Thank you so much!
Xiaomeng was awesome! Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
