“This was the first time I’ve ever had someone watch my dog in their home. I can’t begin to express how at ease Nancy & Richard made me. From having a preliminary meet & greet to ease and convenience of arranging my first appointment with them. I knew from their profile, they’d be a great fit for me. Drop off and pick up was quick and easy. My dog was happy to see me but didn’t rush out the door so I know he was happy and content afterwards. During his visit I received a few pictures and updates so I knew he was being very well cared for. Look very forward to booking again!”

“She did great! We went to Disney for the day and my little Charlie loved it. He got to play with other small dogs all day. Cheryl even hand fed our dog because he gets so excited and anxious that he won't eat. She even sent us pictures of him running around everywhere.”
“Lisa was amazing! My Goldendoodle,Phoebe, had such a great time at Lisa’s. Lisa was able to send me pictures and videos throughout the day and when I picked her up she told me exactly how her day went. I am definitely going to book Lisa again for the future! Thanks Lisa for taking such good care of my Phoebe!”

About: Use this code for $20 off!- DANAP81645 Animals have always been part of my life. Growing up, our family was constantly rescuing strays, helping lost pets find their way home, and occasionally falling in love and adding them to the family ourselves. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. I currently share my home with my Australian Shepherd, Otis, and two bearded dragons, and I understand how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else’s care. When your pet is with me, they’ll be treated like family. Whether they love long walks, belly rubs, playtime, or simply having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I know every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and personalities so their experience feels as stress-free as possible. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pet! I own a business, so I'm very flexible with availability during the week. Weekends I'm completely available. I will be here the whole time whenever we have visitors. I have a big yard for pups to play in. We love playing fetch or just sitting around our backyard enjoying our beautiful California weather. When we're not outside, inside our home is a calm environment.

“She was great with my puppy! Picked her up and dropped her off on time, clearly knowledgeable about dogs and how to care for them. My puppy really enjoyed her house, children, and dog, and the pictures were adorable. I'm relieved to know there's someone I can count on to care for my puppy when I am busy!”

About: I am a passionate, life-long dog lover with nearly 5 years of hands-on, dedicated experience managing, caring for dogs. As a multi-pet owner myself, I understand that your dogs are truly part of your family. I know how much trust it takes to leave them in someone else's hands, and I am fully committed to treating your furry friends with the exact same love and care that I provide to my own pets. I work remotely & at home all the time. Your pet will get 3 walks at morning, around noon & at evening. Several time during the day I let go pets go in backyard to pee & play. I have a fenced yard, so your pet stays in protected environment. They will have company of my own two pets. I am at home all the time to keep watch on pets.
“Xiaomeng was awesome! I never did Rover or homesitting before and was scared but I’m so relieved to know that my dog Benji had a fantastic time. He basically came home all calm and his usual self which tells me Xiaomeng was accommodating and loving to Benji. She was responsive throughout and was extremely kind. I recommend!! If you were iffy about sending your pet to someone dont worry Xiaomeng will put those thoughts away”

About: I grew up with dogs and currently have 2 cats. One of my cats is a senior (almost 20 years old) so I do have experience caring for a senior pet. I love animals and will treat yours as my own! I would prefer dogs who are kid friendly. About this sitter: My name is Tessa and I'm a stay-at-home mom of 3. I love animals and have 2 cats myself! I would love to make your dog a part of our family for the day or longer! Regarding my cats: I am able to keep my cats separate from your dog, if you are concerned about that. I think it’s best to keep them separate to avoid any issues. I put my cats in my primary bedroom upstairs along with all their stuff and they are perfectly fine! But if your dog is cat friendly, I don’t mind letting them interact a bit. My senior cat is just a little freaked out by high energy dogs but she calms down after a bit. My younger cat is probably more open to dogs, she’s very friendly and mellow. Either way, I’m happy to accommodate! I drop my 3 kids off at school Monday-Friday and I am done with that around 8:30am. I pick up my youngest at 1:40 and my middle child at 3pm. So I will have about 4 hours each day until pick up my youngest. I am also available most weekends. Just message me and will do my best to accommodate your schedule. We live in a 4 bedroom condo and I have a fenced in patio and plenty of walking space throughout my neighborhood. Your dogs will feel safe and right at home! I will also make sure that your dogs are safe and cared your dog is in my home!
“It’s no surprise Candi is the best dog sitter around. She sends me photo updates throughout the day, completely puts my mind at ease while I’m at work. Her updates are so sweet, and it’s clear how much she genuinely cares. Quotta feels completely at home with her🥰tail wagging, cozy naps, and all!”

“Elena was incredible. She started off by stopping by to meet Hollys couple days before her stay and immediately hit it off. Holly was extremely excited when I dropped her off and I don’t think I’ve ever felt more comfortable, dropping her off as I did today. Elena is very responsive, extremely polite and exhibited world class professionalism. I know who I’m trusting Holly with for future sitting.”

“I know that Lola is well cared for when she’s at Ly and Daniel’s home! It’s the only place Lola goes for boarding and daycare. I really appreciate Ly and Daniel’s flexibility with pick up times when we are later than expected!”

“Natalia was amazing and made us feel super at ease leaving our two doodles Bhodi and Gizmo while we went and showed our visiting family around LA on two different days. She and her sons were so friendly and loving to our boys and she provided updates, pics and even videos. She followed our feeding instructions great and took them for a walk both days together. Gizmo is fear reactive of other dogs and she handled any dog encounters amazingly. They were also happy to receive some carrots and apples as treats! Will definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of dogs all throughout high school and college whether it be family, neighbors, friends, or mutual friends! I am comfortable with giving pet’s medication or following specific instructions as needed. I can take care of all kinds of dogs and will be sure they feel as comfortable and cared for as possible. I love spending time with dogs especially as I am away from my own at home! I work from home as I have a remote internship this summer. I typically go to workout classes / go on runs in the morning but never longer than an hour. My backyard is dog friendly with a closed fence and lawn. My home is one story with plenty of room to play. Only one out of five of my roommates is home who also has dogs of her own.
About: I’ve grown up rescuing kittens from the streets and healing them to health. I have two healthy cats at home that I take care of every day. They are fully vaccines and healthy. I have a passion for cats, so I am always doing research to get a better understanding of how they may think. I'm currently working full-time from home, so I have plenty of time to take care of pets. I get many breaks during my working hours. I love my two cats, I never discipline them by yelling. They are allowed on the furniture and have a tree house to play in and many toys all throughout the home. I work from home so I'm always around and I rarely go out. I like being home. I also get breaks to go out and do any drop ins. I live in a three bedroom apartment. There is one bedroom dedicated as my cat room, which has a cat house, scratch post, wooden home and many toys and tunnels for play. I have toys for them everywhere and constantly buying new toys. My cats love the their playroom. Right outside the window is a tree where some birds and squirrels pass, they love to lay on the hammock and look at the window.

Jovanny, Robyn, Franky, took great care of my dogs while I was at the Disney parks. They only live about 12 minutes away. I got two to three updates during the day with pictures and videos of them playing or going for walks. They were flexible with pick up and drop off times. Overall, my dogs seemed to like their stay with them and I felt comfortable that they were well taken care of. I picked up so late that they were even able to give them dinner. Thank you for the help for my dogs that probably wouldn't have done well in a boarding facility.

Elena was incredible. I know who I’m trusting Holly with for future sitting.

Another great dog sitting experience with Sandy!! Despite the fact that we dropped off our Pumpkin with a bandaged paw, Sandy took excellent care of him. He looks happy and content. Thank you again, Sandy, for your prompt communication, picture updates and overall care.

Our dog, Lucy, returned home after a day with Ema and three other doggie friends content and at ease. Ema was great about sending videos and pictures of Lucy throughout the day. In one picture Lucy was happily lying next to Ema, completely relaxed. Ema also took the time to ask about Lucy's habits and needs, which I appreciated. We are happy to have found Ema thru Rover and look forward to Lucy having more chances to spend time with Ema and her two doggie family.

Susi was extremely accommodating for me! Kept me updated with regular photo updates per my request, which I know can be a lot but it definitely eased my mind that my girl was in good hands! Susi was also a great communicator and overall was a really great sitter! Thank you!

Always Welcome!" – Another Great Stay We just picked Mina up from another stay with Ilene, and it’s clear she has found a second home there. Ilene and her husband both mentioned that Mina is always welcome in their house and that she gets along beautifully with the other dogs. It’s such a relief to have a sitter where no issues are noted and our pup is genuinely enjoyed. Ilene provides a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. We couldn’t ask for more!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
