“Celeste and Joaquin were amazing! I had them take care of my staffy for 3 consecutive days and it almost got to the point that my dog didn't want to leave them lol they took really good care of her. They kept me updated with pictures and videos. Drop offs and pick-ups were easy. Communication was consistent. Their dog was really friendly. I can go on and on about the quality of experience I had. I 100% recommend them if you're looking for a sitter.”

“Bella was an amazing dog sitter! She was very responsible and took such great care of our puppy. We felt completely at ease knowing our pup was in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

About: We love creatures of all kinds! Dogs, cats, reptiles and more. I work from home full time and just had to put my sweet Arya to rest. My family loves to care for animals and enjoys them in the home. Lots of TLC, big fenced in yard and lots of snuggles. Kids are 16, 10 and 10. I work from home full time as a client support consultant. I also homeschool my three children (ages 16, 10 and 10). I am home all day! There are some sport activities that require a drop off around 3pm, but home most of the day with availability to feed, walk and care for your pets. I would be with your pet most of the day. Doors are secured with a fenced in yard with lots of grass and shade. Food is tucked away and children in the home are older and very familiar with caring for pets and keeping them safe.
“Karyn did a fantastic job taking care of our little one. She continuously updated us with how Lukie was doing throughout the day. She really showed how much she loves dogs! Thanks you so much Karyn and we will definitely be back and use your services!”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who works from home full time and has over 15 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and all kinds of pets. From basic puppy training and long walks to senior care and medication management, I’ve done it all and loved every minute of it! Whether your pet needs a high-energy walk, a calm companion, or just someone to love them like you do, I’m here to help. I’ve worked with all sizes, breeds, and personalities, and I pride myself on treating every animal like they’re part of my own family. I’m dependable, communicative, and passionate about providing the kind of care that puts both pets and their humans at ease. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I work from home full time! This allows me to be with your pet around the clock. I’m also able to take my work with me if drop in visits are needed. My schedule, especially in the afternoons is flexible which allows time for long walks. I have a very sweet and friendly Boston terrier of my own who is always looking to make new best friends! I do live in an apartment, but I am on the first floor with a patio. My complex also has a dog park and is very pet friendly. My daily routine already includes multiple walks spread throughout my work day for my pup and even a trip or two to the dog park. In the evenings we do take a short drive to a local park and walk a few miles when the weather cools off. My dog is crate trained for night time so she can be separated from your pet if needed. My home is your pets home, whatever the need is, I can do my best to accommodate to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible.

About: I’ve cared for both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, and sticking to their routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’m patient, reliable, and treat every pet like they’re my own, giving them plenty of attention, care, and a safe environment. I’m flexible and make sure I’m consistent with their routine so they feel comfortable and cared for. My Schedule is always opened on weekends, give me a message. I make sure pets are always safe and comfortable in my care. I have a fenced backyard that’s pretty spacious, so dogs can get some outdoor time and play safely. If a dog needs to be crated, I’m totally comfortable following that routine and making sure they’re secure and calm. I pay attention to details, keep things clean, and make sure pets are always supervised and cared for so you can trust they’re in good hands.
“This was our 2nd time having Anthony watch our girl, Kaiya, and once again she had a wonderful stay! Anthony is always great on communication & sending pictures / videos as we’re away. Also, took her out for some exercise & she had fun playing in his backyard. Picked her up happy & perfectly exhausted to where she instantly knocked out in our car on the drive home! Appreciate you Anthony & looking forward to having you watch Kaiya again the next time we need a Rover😊👍”

“Josh is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I can’t imagine anyone else aside from Josh watching my fur baby. Josh cares for her like she is his own and I know that she is in great hands. Josh updated me with pictures throughout the day which put a smile on my face! Josh is patient, attentive, and very knowledgeable about dog behaviors. Josh played with her and walked her at the park which was great stimulation. She is now resting from her SUPER FUN day. Can’t wait for my Mia’s next day visit with Josh!”

“We had a great experience with Mark on our first day care . Our concert ran a little late with traffic from the Hollywood Bowl. Arrived at his home to pickup or dog at 12:15 am . Mark was very gracious and understanding.”

“Cynthia is a reliable and trustworthy sitter. We felt at ease knowing Pepsie was in good hands. She was available on short notice and very accommodating . We will definitely be using Cynthia again in the future. Thank you for taking such good care of our furry family member!”

“Jenni took great care of Rocky! He had so much fun playing with her dog and hanging out with her. I enjoyed the neighborhood she lives in as it’s very calm. I would like more pictures, but next time I will ask for them. Already have our next visit booked!”

“Natalia was amazing and made us feel super at ease leaving our two doodles Bhodi and Gizmo while we went and showed our visiting family around LA on two different days. She and her sons were so friendly and loving to our boys and she provided updates, pics and even videos. She followed our feeding instructions great and took them for a walk both days together. Gizmo is fear reactive of other dogs and she handled any dog encounters amazingly. They were also happy to receive some carrots and apples as treats! Will definitely use her again in the future!”

I’m reliable, attentive, patient, and caring and will always make sure every furry friend feels safe, happy, and gets the exercise they need. I treat every animal like they’re my own and love sending updates and photos/videos so you know they’re having a great time! My weekly schedule is pretty flexible, and I usually have a lot of availability throughout the day. Some weeks look different than others, but I keep my calendar updated and make sure I only accept bookings that I can fully commit to! Boarding/Day care: I only accept one family’s pets at a time to provide individualized care. I have a large backyard for your dogs to roam around, play, and relax! They’ll be lots of play time in the yard if not they’ll be inside with the AC on and relax. House sitting: I respect each pet’s comfort level and approach them on their terms! I’m comfortable cleaning up any accidents in the house, following feeding schedules, and crating pets if needed. There will be lots of play time too of course.
“Melissa was simply wonderful! We value the services of a professional who says what they will do, and then does exactly that! That’s Melissa. Our pet dog Bella is like one of our children, so we were having separation anxiety over leaving her for the day with a stranger. We met Melissa in a “meet and greet” at her home, and immediately were put at ease by her manner. Once we dropped Bella off for doggy day care, Melissa sent us a couple of pictures showing Bella on her blanket, relaxing in her new environment. Soon thereafter she sent us several new pictures as she took Bella for a walk, and Bella looked as if she was having a great day! Melissa treats your pet as if the pet were her own, and we couldn’t recommend her highly enough. We will book Melissa again, and we’re looking forward to boarding Bella with Melissa for several days in January when we travel up to Seattle to visit our son.”

“Ly was not inside waiting for me when I arrived both to job off my dog and when I was there to pick him up! I was sent photos and they fed him dinner since I was gone all day! Thank you so much yo Ly and Daniel!”

“Xiaomeng was absolutely wonderful. She was understanding with my work situation and Spoofy had a great time with her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who’s looking for a genuine cozy experience for their dog.”

“Listened and followed my instructions to a T. She kept a close eye on my dog the entire time which was very much appreciate appreciated. And my dog seemed to like her because she was more than happy to go back to her house. I’m very satisfied with Monica‘s care of my Bailey. ❤️”
“Tiffany is great! We love how sweet and thorough she is - from our first meet-and-greet to the daily rover updates. She genuinely cared and paid special attention to the needs of our pup. Thanks, Tiffany and Kona, for taking care of our little girl Ella!”

“Lindsey did great with my 3 month Husky. She was consistent with the feeding and housebreaking. She allows her time in the backyard and played with her during the day. She was flexible with scheduling and sent me pictures. I will keep using her as a dog sitter.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Placentia
I came to California to visit and needed a place for my doggie! I called so many doggy daycares but they were all booked, someone recommended me to use Rover and I decided to take a look and I found the first three people but the other two couldn’t take care of my dog so I decided to leave her with Romina! It was the best decision I’ve ever taken because she took care of my doggy very well, she walked my dog took her in her home and played with her, she let her sun bathe and gave me hourly updated on my doggy! My dog absolutely loved her and her partner ! If I ever come back to California I’ll definitely bring her back to Romina! And I’ll forever appreciate it! 🫶🏼

Susi was extremely accommodating for me! Kept me updated with regular photo updates per my request, which I know can be a lot but it definitely eased my mind that my girl was in good hands! Susi was also a great communicator and overall was a really great sitter! Thank you!

I can only say that I was truly amazed. I’ve used dog boarding services on other platforms before, but this was my first time using Rover and choosing a home boarding family. I never expected that my dog would be so reluctant to leave. He didn’t want to go out, and even after going outside, he kept turning back, clearly wanting to return to the house. This makes me absolutely certain that my dog received so much love, care, and companionship during his stay. I believe it may be because the whole family was at home, and the presence of two children also gave him extra company and happiness. In short, I am extremely happy and satisfied. I will definitely recommend this to my friends. Thank you so much!
Jacqueline was so kind for taking my fur baby Arlo last minute. She followed all the instructions that were provided and also kept me updated throughout the day. I received pictures of Arlo every few hours with updates of his eating or what he was doing. Would definitely book with Jacqueline again when we’re back in town. Thank you for everything!
Jennifer was an excellent sitter! It was our first time using Rover, and we were understandably a bit nervous. That said, Jennifer was very accommodating and put out worries at ease. She sent us lots of pictures and updates which we greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a possible sitter.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
