Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. The sitter was nice, don’t get me wrong, but our overall experience was not what we expected. We chose this sitter because of the many positive reviews and their stated 14 years of experience, so we expected our 9-month-old puppy to be in great hands. Sadly, that was not our experience. Communication throughout the stay was not what we expected. We had to reach out for updates repeatedly and received only one photo, which was only sent near the beginning of the stay. We would have appreciated more consistent communication and photo updates, especially since this was our first time leaving our puppy with this sitter and, based on the other reviews, it seemed that other clients were receiving regular updates and photos throughout their dogs’ stays. This made the lack of communication during our puppy’s stay particularly disappointing and concerning. More concerning were the inconsistencies between our care instructions, what we were told, and what we observed when we picked her up. Our instructions clearly stated that she was to receive two meals: a midday meal/snack and dinner around 7 PM. When I reached out, I was told dinner had been given around 5:30 PM. Her midday snack also appeared not to have been given. Her snuffle mat was untouched and still full of treats, her chews were untouched, and her treat pouch was still full and appeared barely used. The Rover card also only mentioned one meal despite our care instructions specifying two. Her water was another concern. Her water bowl was completely dry and did not appear to have been used, while the water bottle we provided was still full. When we got home, our puppy drank a significantly larger amount of water than usual and was extremely hungry, scarfing down the food we gave her. Our puppy also wears a Fi tracker, which allows us to monitor her daily activity, which includes steps, sleep, drinking, and eating events. Her step count was significantly higher than her normal daily activity, while her sleep was significantly lower than usual. While we understand that activity can vary from day to day, the combination of unusually high activity, reduced sleep, and the apparent lack of food and water was concerning. It felt like she may have been kept extremely active and tired out without receiving the basic necessities a 9-month-old puppy needs—adequate food, water, and rest. One of her favorite toys was also missing when we picked her up. We completely understand that mistakes happen, but it was still an inconvenience to have to drive back to pick up an item that should have been packed with her belongings in the first place. We would have appreciated a little more attention to detail to ensure all of her things were returned at pickup. At pickup, her harness was also put on backwards/upside down. Again, mistakes happen, but given the sitter’s stated 14 years of experience, we did not expect this to be an issue. Most importantly, our puppy’s behavior when we picked her up was very different from what we normally see. She is typically happy and excited after spending time with a sitter and usually doesn’t want to leave. This time, she seemed stressed, sad, and unusually subdued. She didn’t even want to say goodbye, which was completely out of character for her. We know our dog very well, and this was particularly upsetting to see. We are genuinely disappointed that we did not have the same positive experience reflected in the other reviews. We understand that every dog and every stay can be different, but these were not minor concerns for us. The lack of communication, failure to follow basic care instructions, concerns about food and water, unusually high activity and reduced sleep, and our puppy’s behavior at pickup left us deeply concerned. I sincerely hope our puppy was not mistreated. We trusted this sitter to care for her, and unfortunately, we left feeling that her basic needs and overall well-being did not receive the attention we expected.

Bella was wonderfully patient and kind with me. This was my first time leaving calcifer with anyone else and she updated me with photos and videos to make it easier on me.

Bella was an amazing caretaker for my puppy, Arlo! She sent updates and made sure Arlo was super comfortable and on his routine as much as possible. I definitely recommend!

Bella did great with both of our dogs. They each have different energy levels and needs and Bella was able to accommodate both.

Bella was a great dog sitter!! She sent me a lot of pics and vids during my dog’s stay while I was on vacation. Along with that, she made sure to update me throughout the day. My dog needs insulin shots morning and night so Bella made sure to give Sasha her medicine and sent me texts frequently regarding that as well😊 Def would recommend and have her dog sit Sasha again!

Bella was great & friendly. She provided photos and updates during the stay. I would absolutely book with Bella again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy sitter.
