“Cheryl was great and gave many updates throughout the day! Our dog Churro looks like he had a blast playing with Cheryl’s dogs in her yard in all the pictures she sent. Will definitely be using her again for any future dog sitting needs!”

“I have used a few sitters before but Candi set a néw high bar. He came back with such a smile on his face and was wagging his tail when he came the second time. Candi is the best sitter you need to use for your dog. Thanks. Jeff”

“Abhijeet did a great job watching our spoiled dog. She got walks and treats and she never cried which she normally does. He lives close to a nice park. Abhijeet sent me many pics and she was a happy dog. Highly recommend Abhijeet.”

“Rachel and Kevin have been absolutely amazing! It's definitely hard to leave our little babies behind with someone we don't know personally but Rachel and Kevin have kept us updated throughout the day. My pup stayed there for 3 days this week and has been the best decision. We've met with them prior to booking and they are such lovely hosts!”

“As fellow dog sitters ourselves, we know how important it is to feel completely comfortable leaving your pup with someone, and Jenni gave us that peace of mind from the start! First time Gigi stayed with Jenni and she was incredibly responsive from the start. While we were at the Angels game, we received lots of pictures of Gigi playing with her new friend, enjoying toys, and going on an evening stroll. Gigi looked so happy! 🐾❤️ Pickup was just as seamless, with Jenni meeting us outside, carrying Gigi to us when we arrived. Her location was also super convenient, only about 10 minutes from the stadium! We really appreciated the communication and care Jenni gave Gigi and would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“My puppy had a great time at day care. We received update photos right away and she looked so relaxed. When we were pulling in to pick her up she looked calm and happy. This was her first experience being away from us and they made it a great one. We’re so glad we found them for our wedding week”

“Another awesome day with Nancy and Richard! Kona has so much fun spending the day with them. He is so pampered and loved. I feel so blessed to have found Nancy and Richard to care for Kona!”

“Crystal did a wonderful job watching Grayson today. She sent a ton of pictures and was very communicative throughout the day. We will be using her services again very soon!”

“David took care of our puppy for several days and was an amazing sitter. He was very responsive, sent many pictures and updates, and I could tell the puppy was getting a lot of love from David's family. We will definitely be repeat clients.”

“Charlene was really great about communicating with us prior to us leaving our dog with her on relatively short notice. She is very friendly, responsible, and kept in contact with us about how our dog was doing in her care. Would highly recommend and book again in the future!”

“This was Noodle's first time at a dog sitter, and Sunny was an amazing host! She was incredibly kind, understanding, and attentive to our dog's needs. She even sent regular pictures and updates throughout the day. Noodle is a senior dog with special needs, and Sunny was able to meet those. She gave her the eye drops and oral medications, and when she had trouble eating, Sunny contacted us about how to get her to eat. This a trial stay since Noodle had never stayed with a dog sitter before, and Sunny gave us great feedback about what Noodle needs and what we should do in the future for her. Sunny is a great dog sitter, and she really showed great care for our dog. Highly recommend Sunny for anyone!”
“Heather is super caring and dog friendly. My dog Sokka knows when we pull up to her house because gets super excited and whiny. He fairly launches out of the car to get to her door.”

“One of the nicest people I’ve ever met. So kind and understanding. I had to cancel last minute and she was so great. I’m really looking forward to taking my Lucy to see her some day.”

“Diego loved daycare at Michelle’s house. We did a meet and greet with her dogs to make sure they’d get along and it went great. She took him out frequently. She updated me with photos and messages throughout his stay. We are comfortable leaving our dog with Michelle and definitely recommend her!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Orange Park Acres
Elena was incredible. She started off by stopping by to meet Hollys couple days before her stay and immediately hit it off. Holly was extremely excited when I dropped her off and I don’t think I’ve ever felt more comfortable, dropping her off as I did today. Elena is very responsive, extremely polite and exhibited world class professionalism. I know who I’m trusting Holly with for future sitting.

Another great dog sitting experience with Sandy!! Despite the fact that we dropped off our Pumpkin with a bandaged paw, Sandy took excellent care of him. He looks happy and content. Thank you again, Sandy, for your prompt communication, picture updates and overall care.

Adrienne was excellent! Leaving our anxious doggo is never easy but we knew we were in good hands with Adrienne. He seemed happy, appropriately tired and rested at the end of the day! She was very professional and sent us lots of pics! Cannot wait to book her services again!

Our dog, Lucy, returned home after a day with Ema and three other doggie friends content and at ease. Ema was great about sending videos and pictures of Lucy throughout the day. In one picture Lucy was happily lying next to Ema, completely relaxed. Ema also took the time to ask about Lucy's habits and needs, which I appreciated. We are happy to have found Ema thru Rover and look forward to Lucy having more chances to spend time with Ema and her two doggie family.

Always Welcome!" – Another Great Stay We just picked Mina up from another stay with Ilene, and it’s clear she has found a second home there. Ilene and her husband both mentioned that Mina is always welcome in their house and that she gets along beautifully with the other dogs. It’s such a relief to have a sitter where no issues are noted and our pup is genuinely enjoyed. Ilene provides a safe, fun, and welcoming environment. We couldn’t ask for more!

Elaine and jeff were awesome with cookie!! They were so kind and friendly with cookie and sent lots of photos and videos and were very communicative ;) I can tell cookie had a blast and would definitely recommend to any I’m looking for a trusted sitter! Elaine also took cookie for a walk with a stroller and he had an amazing time! Thank you so much!! Ollie, their dog, was also so cute 🥰

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
