Safety, trust & environment

We have a pet home and a HUUUUGE backyard (hardcore fenced, 8-9', Fort Knox-like). Our pets are our family and are allowed on furniture and in the backyard whenever they want. You could say we spoil them but they deserve it. We live across the street from Yorba Regional Park so lots of fun and adventurous walks around us. Drop-Ins- If you'd like me to watch your pets in your home, that's fine too. I just can't stay the night. You tell me their routine and I'll keep that up. I can do as many drops ins as you need. Daycare - DOGS LOOOVE DAYCARE HERE!!! We have a huge yard for them too burn out in. I flip on the sprinklers for those who love water when it's hot outside and, for those who do not, there are so many comfy places to chill inside and out. I have a pup pool as well. I'm typically outside with the pups watching them. When is too hot or raining, they come inside for the ac or warmth. I can do walks if you'd like and you are welcome to bring meals or snacks. Your pets will be EXHAUSTED when they get home and happily ready for bed. And, yes, I do usually have other pups here for them to play with - always on watch though. I do not allow fights. If someone is getting aggressive, I seperate them and switch out during the day so everyone is happy and gets their play on equally. NOTE - I do try to keep daycare hours from 7a-6p, during the week, but if you need an earlier drop off or later pick up, please reach out and we'll figure that out. ALSO - please do not bathe your pup before daycare!!! They'll get dirty!!! They're pups, we play. They roll around. They explore. They have fun! Bathe them afterwards or I can do this for you before they leave.

Information Heather B. would like to know about your pet

1. Rabies Certificate - I do require rabies certificate from all customers, new and current. This can be a screenshot through the feed or you can provide me with your county pup registration tag. I know that if your pup is registered with their county (in CA), they are vaccinated. Out of state customers, I need an actual certificate. I keep that information confidential, unless ever asked to provide it to authorities and I've never had to do that to date. I am more than happy to provide you with our certificates, upon booking. Our dogs are registered as well with the county and our vet is the ever so fabulous Dr. Greek in Yorba Linda. 2. FYI: We used to rescue. So I do have 48" kennels and a luxury 52" kennel (so fancy ha). And they are clean, not rusted, and I have set ups of super comfy beds, and water/food bowls for them. So if you'd like your pup to be kenneled at night, please let us know. They can use ours so you don't have to lug one over. I literally scrub them down in our yard after they are used with disinfectant so everyone is safe and the food/water dishes are sanitized in our dishwasher. 3. Food - how much, when, what type, etc? Do Not worry about bringing bowls unless they are special slow feed ones. We have disposable ones and sanitized stainless steel ones. 4. Any anxiousness? If so, no worries. I have plenty of experience with anxious animals, just want to be prepped. Anxiousness happens to us all. It is ok and we are happy to be patient and work with them. If your pup is a stress biter, please inform me ahead of time. There are times that this can happen due to anxiousness and the address of being in an unknown environment. If you inform me of this, I'll know what to look for to diffuse a situation. 5. Can they have treats and bones? We do not use rawhide but we do have chews, buscuits, bones and such. I do roast homemade bones too. 6. Any allergies? Bring whatever meds are needed! I also have meds onsite, OTC, if anything arises while you're away. Again, will always ask first. 7. TOYS - We have PLENTY of toys, a clothes basket full and throughout the yard, buried and visible. Of course, if you want, bring your pups favs but, be warned, they do get heavily played with, dirty, destroyed, and sometimes lost or buried - dogs will be dogs and I let them do that. I cannot promise that they will return the same way you dropped them off or at all. And don't worry or feel if they destroy our toys! again, dogs will be dogs. It's what they do. 8. Commands/rules - everyone's commands and rules are different just as they are for their families. If you speak to you're pup in German, they are going to look at me funny when I say vs. sitz. Please send me your commands through the feed. I love learning new pup languages. So far, I've got German, Brazilian, hand signals, and like 20 English ways of saying bedtime ha! Drop Off Procedure for Boarding- When your pup stays with me, I do 2 things right off the bat, whether you're new with me or a return customer: 1. Inventory-Whatever belongings you bring over, I write those items down and will post them on the Rover feed, with a photo. This serves two purposes....first, when I get them ready to leave, I make sure they leave with everything they came with. And, secondly, if you've forgotten anything, you can make sure it gets to me somehow, if it's medication or something of importance. Owners sometimes forget in the rush of getting ready for travel. I've even had owners forever food, ha! All good, we'll figure it out. Health-For the safety of our pets, yours and others, I cannot unfortunately take any pups with contagious ailments (i.e. diarrhea, ringworm, throwing up from virus, coughing/kennel cough, mites, etc). While I can create separate quarters, contagious ailments are better left with a vet until they are ok. After they are good, they are welcome to come on over and have a blast with us though! Lastly, I have a complete first aid kit, equipped with ear and eye cleaner, wound care, skin care, bandages, anti-diarrheal, anti-nausea, and more. I will NEVER give your pup anything without your permission first through the feed, however, they do play hard and alot here, especially outside. If anything arises, I will reach out with photos and suggestions. If vet care is needed, I'm on it. Though we've never had an injury here before, I know what to do in case of an emergency. And, to note, we have 3 emergency vets within a mile of us. Pet and kid safety is always my priority!

A typical day

I want to make your furbabies stay with my family as comfortable, and least stressful, as possible. We try to give our pups and pup guests enrichment activities, such as the local dog park, walks around Yorba Regional and our local neighborhoods, backyard water sprinklers, fetch games, treat scavenger hunts, rope tugowar, and most love our pup pool when it's hot out. Please let me know your preferences and what your pup(s) would enjoy and dislike. **IMPORTANT!!!! MAKE SURE YOUR PETS HAVE FLEA MEDICINE ON** While our yard is treated for ticks and fleas, that does not mean they aren't there. I cannot control where fleas are and if they get onto your pets. I need all owners to make sure your pets are flea/tick treated prior to arrival. I wish I could control bugs, but that's on nature, not me unfortunately. We play outside a lot and we go on lots of walks. They are all over! Hot Days: We do keep our backyard open for potty breaks and exploration, freely. However, when it's too hot outside, I keep all pets inside in the a/c - out only for potty breaks. I am very cognizant of hot pavement and their lil paws. We have a grassy backyard which is easier on them vs. walking them around the neighborhood and burning their paws. When it cools down in the evening, I'm happy to walk them then for their safety. We also take them, on their last day of boarding, for a pupcup treat field trip which they all love and, on repeat visits, await longingly. I'm happy to have you over for a meet n greet if you'd like. I don't require them. My family is ready for all dogs, of all kinds, and we are used to different personalities. It is rare that we don't have a guest staying enough us. So our dogs are also used to this schedule and are great with others. A meet n greet is more for you as the owner. I'm fine with whatever you're comfortable with. Daycare - Typically, we're outside most of the morning burning that energy, playing and exploring or walking around the neighborhood. Sometimes we'll have water play or treat scavenger hunts, etc. When it starts to heat up, I bring them inside for a snack and a cool nap. You are welcome to provide your own snacks. I have biscuits that the pups seem to really enjoy. Towards 330-4p, I bring them back outside to burn off that after sleep energy and then get them ready for pick up. For daycare, I do usually have more than one family here, as the pups come to play and have fun with friends, no more than 3 families. All pups are checked for rabies and temperament. I don't usually do meet n greets for daycare, as owners are welcome to do so on the day of drop off. However, if you want to, I'm open just reach out.

Pet care experience

I have always been an extreme animal lover! I care for pets of all sizes, shapes, and origins - whether it's your kitty, pup, bird or reptile, I love them all! I have 2 kids, who adore animals and have been raised to defend, love, be gentle and respectful, and caring. My husband is the pet whisperer. They all love him, even the ones we hear who "dislike men" wind up loving Mike! We have our own large dogs that we rescued who are super sweet lover girls and enjoy meeting new friends. They're used to having other pups and cats over. We have cats, bearded dragons, and turtles as well....and I'm proud of every single one 🥰 We do have a very large and spoiled sulcata tortoise (95 lbs) and, yes, your kids can come feed him ha. And, no, he does not eat meat - all vegetarian. Your pups are totally safe!

Our dogs seemed to have a really good time. They don’t have access to a backyard like that and the socialization was great for Jax. Heather provided us with regular updates and I would feel comfortable using her again

Heather and her husband were amazing with our dogs! We had a last-minute change of plans and needed to extend their stay, and they were so understanding and accommodating. Heather kept us updated with pictures and messages, which really gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our dogs were well cared for and happy when we picked them up. We’re very thankful and would definitely book with them again through Rover!

Loki had a great time! The care he got was as good as (ok maybe even better) we could do. We very highly recommend.
