About: I’ve grown up in a dog loving family, from having as many as 5 dogs to being a single dog fam for a while. Always been a sucker for big dogs as i've owned alaskan malamutes, bernese mountain dogs and currently have a newfoundland. i also have had breeds like corgis and pom pom mixes and currently have a pitbull bull terrier mix & a shepsky as well! i’ve cared for neighbors smaller breeds while they’re out of town taking them on walks, feeding and just hanging out with them for periods of time. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns! Can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies 😁🩵 My day job is super flexible so everyday looks a little different for me. The longest i’d be gone at any point in time would be 3-4 hours with a heads up as I care for my dogs as well! 😁 If thats an issue please reach out to me and we can figure something out that works best for everyone! always make sure doors and gates are closed/ secured when they’re supposed to be, i’m a very attentive and detail oriented person so I like making sure everything is as it’s supposed to be! The more instructions the better I can tailor my visit to your pets!!!!

About: Take $20 off your first booking! Code: TOMMYT33940 I've grown up with pets all my life. I've lived with dogs since I was 6 and took in a cat and dog of my own for 7 years after college. I can handle any dog big or small, timid, excited, etc. I have many dog parks in my area if that's a part of your dogs routine. I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule most of the week and can tend to their specific needs. The only time I am gone is to go to the store for food (short errands). I have a walled off backyard for pets to safely roam around. I'm available for walking, sitting, drop-ins, etc. Happy to help in any way! There are no current pets in the home of your pet has any issues with other animals.

About: My skills are only taking the dogs a bath and taking them on walks, and I play with them as well I give all my attention to them. I start my morning early and then I take the dog out on their first walk of the day, then I feed them their breakfast, then throughout the day I play with them and care for them. The care I would give is just giving them attention and making sure their area is always cleaned. Taking them on walks and playing with them! I always attend them to see what they need. I also provide dog sitting in your own home as much as you need me to, and I can also stay over night staying in your own home! I can come to you if you are not comfortable with your dog leaving home.

This was my second time using Rover and I was really nervous. We have had the same dog sitter for about three years now but she is pregnant and due to give birth any day so she was unavailable. Annalie was an AMAZING communicator - incredibly prompt and so nice. Annalie came over for a meet and greet and a tour of the home and agreed it would work! Annalie watched our 12.5 year old French bulldog who has some medical things to be mindful of. We got videos and pictures and checks in as frequently as I requested in the app. I will 100% use Annalie again and I highly recommend!

About: What sets me apart from other pet sitters is that my experience comes from real, long-term responsibility rather than short-term or occasional care. I’ve cared for my own dog for over ten years, since I was in eighth grade, and that journey has taught me patience, consistency, and how to recognize a dog’s needs as they grow and age. I’ve also helped walk and care for a neighbor’s dog for several years, building trust and reliability until they passed away. Most importantly, I genuinely care about animals and their well-being. My long-term goal is to work in the canine unit, so I take pet care seriously and treat every animal with respect, attentiveness, and compassion—not just as a job, but as something I truly value. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life because caring for my dog has been part of my routine for over ten years. I got him when I was in middle school so throughout every stage of his life, I’ve learned how to meet his specific needs—from proper feeding and regular walks to understanding his health, behavior, and age-related changes. Over time, I’ve gained knowledge about dogs that goes beyond basic care, allowing me to be attentive, patient, and proactive in supporting his well-being every day. I care for pets both in my home and outside of my home because I genuinely value their well-being and understand how much they depend on consistent, compassionate care. Having cared for my own dog for over ten years, I’ve learned how important patience, routine, and attentiveness are to an animal’s health and happiness. That experience has made me naturally mindful and responsible when caring for other pets as well, whether it’s providing basic needs, emotional comfort, or recognizing signs that something may be off.

About: I have extensive experience caring for dogs and familiarizing myself with their behaviors I have partnered up with several local shelters in Orange County and LA and have fostered many dogs long term and short term. I have trained them so they can be placed in loving homes and have an easy transition. Each dog that comes in, I treat them like my own and give them all the love and exercise they need. Currently I do not have any fosters in my care and I welcome dogs of many backgrounds. I have a flexible schedule as I have my own business offering legal and identity protection. I work from home and have several entreprenurial ventures. I make my own schedule so I can give your dog the time and attention it needs. I simply abide by the owners wishes and follow their routine. i maintain the same command gestures as the owners and I make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise.

About: Lifelong Animal Lover & Experienced Caregiver. I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, raising everything from birds and turtles to cats and dogs. Today, I’m a proud pet parent to two gorgeous cats (ages 8 and 4) who mean the world to me. For the past several years, I have channeled my passion into professional pet sitting, hands-on shelter volunteering, and fostering—including raising a lively 4-month-old Doberman puppy. I have a massive heart for all animals and promise to treat your pets with the exact same deep love, safety, and dedicated care that I give my own. How Pet Care Fits Into My Routine Right now, I have the luxury of a completely open schedule! Since I’m currently between jobs, my days revolve entirely around pet care. Whether your cat or dog needs a mid-day play session, early morning feedings, or late-night cuddles, I can easily fit into their established routine. This flexibility also means I’m highly responsive and available for short-notice requests or extended daytime stays. Safety & Peace of Mind Your pet’s safety and your peace of mind are my top priorities. Thanks to my background volunteering in animal shelters and fostering, I am highly attuned to animal behavior and body language. I know how to spot stress early and ensure a calm, secure environment. My own home is entirely cat-proofed, smoke-free, and tailored to the comfort of my two resident cats. Whether in your home or mine, I am meticulous about keeping doors secure, maintaining strict hygiene (especially with litter boxes), and following your exact safety instructions. You will receive detailed updates and photos after every visit so you never have to worry.

I can’t say enough good things about Sarah and how well she cares for our dogs and our home. We have a special needs dog that is especially challenging, and she is so patient and good with him. He takes a lot of medicine and has a special feeding routine. He has been especially picky about food recently, and Sarah somehow managed to get him to eat all his meals. Both of our dogs love her, and our other dog has even been checking the guest room when we wake up in the morning to see if Sarah is still here. Sarah takes great care of our house as well. I cannot recommend her enough!

We loved Alicia. Freya was very happy and enjoyed her time. How do I know? From pictures and how happy she was when I got home. I felt confident about Alicia and didn't worry at all while I was gone. Would definitely book her again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Midway City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Midway City on Rover is $63.66 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 10,429 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Midway City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Midway City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Midway City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Midway City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Midway City. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
