Sofia is such a sweetheart and wonderful with my senior pup! She took the time to come meet Skippy a couple days prior to our booking and he immediately went right up to her which he’s usually reluctant to do. I’m very picky about who I have watch Skippy and I feel so safe and at ease when Sofia is taking care of him. I highly recommend Sofia!

About: I'm just a dog loving person who has experience with all sizes and ages. I have always had a dog in my life and have spent the past 18 months fostering dogs. My home is dog friendly and I have two dogs that love to play with other dogs. I work full time but close to home so I can come check on the dogs if needed and I am within the home on the weekends I board. My house is very pet friendly and I am okay with dogs on beds and couches. Having fostered dogs, I feel it is important to shower the dog with love so they feel comfortable in my home!

Elise is great! She sent me photos twice a day to reassure me that everyone was okay. She interacted with one of my terriers who is a rescue and needs extra care. I would recommend Elise to anyone who needs a Pup Sitter that really cares. I will have her care for my pups, cats and birds again in the future.

About: I have grown up with dogs and other animals throughout my life so I am very comfortable with animals. Many of the dogs I have known are rescue dogs so I always accommodate to their needs in order for them to feel comfortable. Over the years I have taken care of friends and family members dogs when they have been away. Making sure all their needs are met and they are happy is my goal. I strive to provide every dog attention and love because every dog is good as long as they are loved and cared for. I work part-time at Dollar Tree and attend Orange Coast College with a couple classes during the week. I am usually free in the mornings all week unless I am working. The afternoons and evenings can be hit or miss since my work schedule isn’t fixed. I always make sure that nothing in a dog’s vicinity can harm them whether it’s an environmental cause or another animal. I currently have two cats and always make sure their litter box is cleaned daily as well as feeding them. Ensuring that all their needs are met is my priority, because if they’re happy, everyone’s happy.

About: Animals have always been my passion. I have years of experience caring for dogs and cats through pet sitting, fostering, and animal rescue. I’ve worked with puppies, kittens, seniors, shy pets, and animals with special medical needs, so I’m comfortable following medication schedules and providing extra care when needed. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet needs playtime, cuddles, walks, or just a calm, dependable companion, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. My background in animal rescue has taught me patience, reliability, and how to recognize when something isn’t quite right with a pet. Communication is important to me, so I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, or medication, I’ll work with you to make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I’m available for weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays with advance notice. My home has a securely fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and explore. I also share my home with one friendly dog, cats, and chickens, so animals are truly a way of life for me. About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 11 years old—both my own and those of friends and family. I grew up with a high-energy Jack Russell mix, so I’m no stranger to playful pups who love to move. I genuinely love all animals and have a deep appreciation for their unique personalities. I’m a recent graduate from UC Irvine and currently have a flexible schedule as I search for full-time opportunities. That means I have plenty of time to care for your dog or cat—and I’d love to spend it keeping your pet happy and active! I prioritize your pet’s safety and comfort during every walk or visit. Whether at home or in a nearby park, I always make sure your pet is having fun while staying safe. I also enjoy learning about pet behavior and regularly watch dog training and grooming videos to stay informed. I’ve been around both energetic and fluffy pets all my life!

About: I have been taking care of dogs from all various age ranges since I started dog sitting and walking at the age of twelve. While I don't have any professional training, I can easily connect with dogs on personal level because of my warm and friendly personality. I have two large dogs of my own and have an understanding of what it takes to care for bigger breed dogs. I love to spoil my own pets and will do the same for my current and future clients. I currently work as a teacher so I'm available to take care of a clients pet in the early mornings and anytime after 2PM. I'm more available on the weekends and will usually take the pet out for longer walks as my schedule permits. I have never taken care of another clients pet in my own home, I always get offered to stay in my clients homes. The clients always introduce me to the pet before I take the job, to make sure I will be a good fit and am trustworthy to be in their home. All clients I have house sat for, leave detailed written instructions as to what their pets daily needs and routine are. I make sure to follow all directions exactly how they are written and I keep the client up to date on how the animal is doing plus I send check in pictures whether they are requested or not.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Fountain Valley stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fountain Valley. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
