About: Growing up we always had pets. Dogs and cats, I love both equally. I have taken care of our personal dogs from birth until they were elderly. I’m familiar with distrusting medication if needed. I’m work a few days a week. My schedule is flexible. I’m available during weekends for weekend get away. If told in advance I can make myself available for vacations. And holidays. If the dog is friendly with cats, I’d be able to board them in my house. I do live in an apartment, however, I live by the beach so plenty of walks At home I take care of dogs and cats as if they were my own. If a dog stays with me, we go on plenty of walks, water and food is always available. When I go to someone’s house, I equally take care of the pet as if it was my own. I keep a schedule so they can have consistency and not be overly stressed.
“My dog can be really timid with strangers but quickly warmed up to Kayla due to her kind demeanor! Her communication is excellent and it really put my mind at ease knowing my dog was in good hands. I would definitely invite Kayla to care for Dino again!”
About: Hello! I adore animals of all kinds and have always seen my pets as part of my family. I've had years of experience with several sweet cats and dogs of my own. We've always rescued and found the best furry friends. For the last 10 years, I've cared for 2 sweet labs next door with frequent walks, meals, tuck-in service (bedtime kongs), and general cuddle puddles 4 days a week. I cat and dog sit for several neighbors and family members and have been doing so consistently for the last 12 years. My home is "beach cozy" (translation: small), so it's best suited for all cats and small-medium-sized dogs that enjoy getting out for walks. If you have a senior dog or cat that needs extra TLC or a quieter home, no kids, no other pets, and all the attention is on them, I am happy to provide a safe, comfy space! I work from home most days and have plenty of time to dedicate to pet, potty, and play breaks! I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate most pet needs. I have experience with administering medication and daily IV fluids. I got very comfortable caring for my senior CKD kitty for over a year. Anything to make life better for these sweet souls I'm willing to do! I am a thoughtful and caring pet sitter and will take care of your fur friends like family!

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I grew up with a Labrador from the time I was born until I was around 10 years old, and since then I have had two other dogs, including a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix and a Border Collie mix. Because of this, I have experience with different sizes, breeds, and energy levels, from large dogs that need strong handling to active dogs that need plenty of attention and playtime. I have also dog sat for family and friends before, so I understand how important it is to make sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owner is away. I will always check in frequently with updates, make sure your dog is fed on schedule, take time to play with them, and give them the attention they need. My schedule is very flexible. I am home for the summer from UCSD and currently shadowing a doctor, but I am able to work my schedule around what is best for dog or cat sitting. I am available on both weekdays and weekends, and I can usually make most times work. I will always communicate clearly if I have something planned on a certain day, and I will make sure we figure out a schedule that works best for you and your pet. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my top priority. I will make sure they are cared for, supervised, and given plenty of attention while you are away. I am comfortable playing with pets, throwing tennis balls or toys, taking dogs on walks, letting them outside, and watching them closely while they are out. I will always follow your instructions for feeding, routines, walks, playtime, and any specific needs your pet may have. I understand how important it is to keep pets on their normal schedule, so I will make sure they are fed on time and cared for in a safe, responsible, and loving environment.

I’m very comfortable managing feeding schedules, long walks, and providing the specific attention each unique pet needs to feel safe and happy. I balance my time between graduate school and teaching, which allows me to offer dedicated care during the early mornings and evenings. My schedule is very consistent, meaning I can provide your pets with a reliable routine they can count on. I also have wide-open availability on weekends for pet sitting and extended adventures, ensuring your furry friends get plenty of focused attention and exercise. Safety and trust are my top priorities when entering a client's home. I am extremely diligent about following all home security protocols, ensuring doors are locked and alarms are set. I maintain a clean, organized environment and strictly follow the 'house rules' you’ve established for your pets. Whether it’s keeping curious paws away from hazards or making sure the water bowl is always fresh, I treat your home with the same respect and care that I give my own.

“Jelena was awesome. Couldn’t ask for more. She was flexible and responded quickly. She communicated thoroughly and efficiently. She showed up at the times scheduled and followed instructions, sent pics, and communicated before, during, and after her visits. I was very nervous using a stranger who had never met our dog before. Usually I try to arrange meet and greets. He has only been cared for by family and is big, intimidating looking, and can be a little quirky sometimes. But I was in a jam at the last minute so I found Jelena. So glad I did! She was great at greeting him and understanding how to interact with his size, breed, needs, and temperament. Jelena was conscientious and thoughtful with how she left our dog and our home after her visit. Look forward to having her return!”

“Natasha went above and beyond to care for our pups while we were visiting from out of town. We spent the day at Disney, but were camping in Newport Beach. She came by several times through the day we were at the park to walk, feed, and play with the dogs. She even came to camp the evening before to meet everybody. We are so thankful for her help!”

“Carrie did a great job taking care of our pup! We had a last-minute need and she was able to come by the evening beforehand and do a meet and greet, then come visit with Luna today at lunch. Although our dog is still getting comfortable with new people, he warmed up to Carrie and played a bit in the backyard. I'm sure I will request help again in the future (but hopefully, with a bit more lead time). Thanks Carrie!”

“Hallie was very helpful in checking in on my pup koda several times throughout the day. Helped to ensure he got a nice walk and some potty breaks. Very professional, timely, and courteous. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone with a pup in need of a check in/walk.”

“Naomi is the best! She took such great care, time, and gave our sweet dog soo much affection. She also administered her medication and insulin shots like a pro. My dog loved her! Thanks soo Much Naomi!!! And the pictures and videos were perfect! We highly recommend this beautiful lady to anyone in need of a pet sitter! 5 stars!!!!”
“Jessica did an awesome job! She went above and beyond for me. My cats are very messy eaters and she did a great job cleaning the bowls, wiping down the countertops, and cleaning the litter box. She also lit my candles so the house smelled nice when I came home. She gave great updates and took awesome pictures of my babies. I would definitely recommend her services.”

About: Caring for animals has always been more than a job to me—it's something I'm genuinely passionate about. Your fur babies deserve all the attention and love and I'm here to make sure they recieve that! I have hands-on experience caring for puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats. I am comfortable administering medications, following detailed care instructions, transporting pets to veterinary appointments, monitoring their health, and communicating any concerns promptly with owners. Beyond basic pet care, I have experience with bathing, brushing, nail trimming, feeding routines, potty training reinforcement, and helping young puppies and kittens adjust to new environments. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to build trust so they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you're away. What truly sets me apart is the level of care and attention I provide. I don't see pets as just animals—I treat every fur baby like a member of my own family. Whether it's playtime, cuddles on the couch, long walks, enrichment activities, or simply providing companionship, I make sure each pet receives individualized care tailored to their needs. My goal is for pet parents to have complete peace of mind knowing their beloved companion is being cared for by someone who genuinely adores animals and treats them with the same love, patience, and dedication they would receive at home. I strive to create an experience where both pets and owners feel comfortable, confident, and excited to book with me again. I work full time however I’m free on Tuesday and Wednesday. On those days, I can come over play/house sit your pet, give them bathes, feed them, and make sure they’re taken care of. I can also take them out on walks. Since I only offer house sitting in your home, precautions/rules that you set in place for your pet will be what is enforced. I will make sure to constantly keep an eye on your pet, record anything going on to inform you, make sure they don’t hurt themselves, and keep the gate up (if there is any)
About: Hi I’m Serena! I’m currently in my master’s program at CSULB! I work hard and give so much love to every single one of my client’s fur babies depending on all their needs. I've grown up with 5+ dogs in my lifetime and taken care of dogs and cats of every kind and size since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with their pets while they were on vacation to walk, feed, and administering their medication (both orally and injections) to their pets. I've taken animal CPR and have lots of experience with senior care with three senior dogs. I’m current attending college at CSULB but I am available in the mornings and evenings for drop in visits. For overnight or extended stays I am available Sunday-Saturday. I will care for them in your home and follow the instructions given to feed and drop in visits. If they are allowed outside, I will go outside with them and keep an eye on them both day and night. I will never let them outside on their own due to safety reasons. If discussed and allowed to housesit, I will keep your pets company for hours doing my quiet hobbies (Reading, drawing, etc.) since my pets tend to dislike being alone in the house for long periods of time.

Kaylee was a joy to have as a cat sitter! It was our first time using a service like this and Kaylee made us feel very comfortable. She even set up a time to meet and greet our kitties ahead of time and get to know how we take care of them! My favorite part was Kaylee sending the daily updates with lots of photos. I looked forward to that time everyday on our trip & it was so reassuring to know that they were happy and having a good time with Kaylee! Thank you so much for taking care of our babies, Kaylee 😊

Maddy followed through with everything we asked. Reptar is a little jerk to new people sometimes but she was able to get him to come out, play a little, and become friends with him by the end of his care. He didn’t have any accidents when I came home which is the best thing I could ask for since he’s likes to when I’m out of town to make me know he’s mad with a stranger. That just shows how great she was with him. would definitely book her again!

Faith was wonderful with my three pups. From the start, communication was clear and reassuring, and it was obvious how much she truly cares about animals. Faith was also helpful and flexible when our plans changed a little and we needed to adjust our drop in times. My dogs were happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I got back, which says everything 🐶. I will 100% book again with Faith!

Sofia was an excellent pet sitter. I was traveling for 3 weeks out of the country and Sofia dropped by every other day and took car of my multiple cats. The cats are a handful and one required medication and Sofia did a great job. She fed and watered them as well as cleaned their litter boxes. Three of the cats hide in my sofa and she aways looked in it to make sure the three shy cats were there and ok. She also proved updates and pictures of the various cats which I enjoyed looking at from across the world during my vacation. I would highly recommend Sofia for any of your pet sitting needs.

I would highly recommend Alisa and wouldn’t hesistate rebooking her services. She was communicative and easy to work with. She took great care of our pets and sent photo updates to us which reassured our smallest members of the family were well taken care of. Thanks Alisa!

Jadyn was professional, trustworthy, and communicative. When my cat first met her, he warmed up to her immediately, and I felt comfortable during the time I was away. Jadyn sent me daily updates and pictures which let me know he was well cared for, and put my mind at ease.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
