“Jessica is phenomenal. She is attentive and responsive. There is always a level of anxiousness to arise when using the service; but Jessica made the experience comfortable. She sent plenty of pictures and even offered to take my trash out but I was due back by the time the trash was to be picked up - so helpful. If I ever have need of the service again i sincerely hope Jessica has the availability. She was great!!”

“She was great with our cats and took the extra time to care for them. She followed all instructions for cat care and helped keep our cat’s food area clean (no easy feat since we have some messy eaters here haha). She was very attentive to detail with our pets. We were always kept up to date with how our cats were doing and felt comfortable working with her. Definitely would recommend this cat/dog sitter for your loved ones since she did a great job!! Thanks so much!”

“Lindsay was such a great find, too good to be true! She walks my two leash- reactive dogs, fed them as asked, and let herself in and out carefully so they would not escape. So grateful we found her!”

About: Hi! My name is Alexa, I’m a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs and other animals of many personalities and ages. I recently relocated to California and have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive and reliable pet care. I am happy to help with dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight care, puppy care, and providing extra patience for senior dogs or pets who may feel anxious when their owners are away. I have a 2 year old fur baby of my own, Arlo; who's taught me how important routine, exercise, and affection are for a dog’s happiness and well-being. I’m always able to adjust to your pet's needs and personality. Whether they love long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with someone nearby. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I enjoy spending the majority of my time with animals and being active outdoors. I structure my schedule to allow plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding, and making sure pets get the attention they need throughout the day. I am sure to keep their routine as consistent as possible with what they’re used to at home. I follow instructions closely when it comes to feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special needs. I know pets are family, and I treat every animal in my care with the same love, patience, and respect I would give Arlo ❤️. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of both the pet’s environment and the home itself. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while also keeping their surroundings clean and calm. I pay close attention to their behavior and energy levels to make sure they are happy and stress-free while you're away. Communication is also important to me, I like to provide updates and photos so you can feel reassured that your fur babies are doing well.

I would love to take your dog for a walk or watch it while you travel. Whatever requirements you may have for your dogs care, I am happy to do it all! About: Hello everyone! I’m an enthusiastic amateur photographer with a serious passion for capturing the unique personalities of dogs, cats, and all kinds of pets. I’m actively working to expand my pet photography portfolio and would love to create beautiful, heartfelt images of your furry family members. Whether it’s playful action shots in the park, cozy in-home portraits, or candid moments during a walk or playtime, I bring patience, treats, and a camera everywhere I go. I’m still building my collection, so I’m happy to offer very affordable (or even complimentary) photography sessions when you book me for dog walking, pet sitting, drop-ins, or overnight stays. I’m gentle, reliable, and genuinely love animals — your pets will be happy and relaxed while I snap some amazing shots you’ll treasure. From goofy zoomies to sweet sleepy cuddles, I aim to freeze those special moments in time. If you’re open to a sitter who also doubles as a pet photographer, let’s team up! Message me to chat about your pet’s personality and what kind of photos you’d love. Can’t wait to meet your four-legged friends and add more adorable images to my growing portfolio! 📸🐶🐱 I'm a retired veteran who has a lot of free time on his hands. I fostered animals while serving in the military and wanted to get back into caring for animals Always flexible with animals and the level of care/attention they require. More than willing to be out and about for a while or stay in because they're home bodies
“Raymond was great for a last minute booking. I had to find a pet sitter real quick before heading out of town due to my other pet sitter not being able to watch him last minute. He was responsive and did well with watching Toby for the 2 drop ins he did.”

About: I’ve grown up taking care of large and small dogs since I was a kid, from general necessities to training. Also have experience in other types of pets from reptiles or other small animals. Per care fits in my day to day life from my roommates pet that I love to take care of while she’s away, now that she’s older I can’t always take her on my daily walks. It’s perfect that I can do something I love such as going on walks and with dogs, while helping others at the same time. I’m now home full time since school is out and hoping to help others care for their furry family members while away. As someone who grew up with many pets I am very big on the idea of a pet is not just a “pet”, it’s a family member so I’ll treat your pet as such. From the love and care they deserve to be the happiest furry family member they can be.:)
About: I’ve grown up around animals and have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I worked at a dog kennel for a couple of years, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. These days, I have a one year old golden retriever with lots of energy! My favorite part of my day is taking her on our daily walks. Walking your dog will add to my joy and I will make sure each walk is not just exercise, but something your dog truly enjoys. I’m comfortable with all breeds and love how even a short walk can make a dog’s day better. Whether your pup needs a brisk outing or a slower stroll, I’ll make sure they’re happy and well taken care of! I’m currently working part-time and would love to spend my free days getting outside with some happy pups—whether they’re full of energy or prefer a slower pace. I have confidence in all dog breeds and am capable of walking all sizes and ages of dogs. I only do dog walking-no dog sitting.

About: I have taken care of fur babies since I was in my 20s when I adopted my first cat (Irie) and then shortly after a dog (Chula) too. They were my first fur baby loves on this earth. I could sit and watch them play for hours because they became besties for life. They will be deeply missed but will always be my first fur baby loves. I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies. I am available all week days and weekends! I live in a home with a fenced in backyard with plenty of room to get energy out! My doggos staya indoors (we have central A/C) unless we are home then they will come outside and enjoy the backyard with us. We live in a calm neighborhood with 3 parks around us that the doggos love walking too and running off leash. I can also accomidate doggos who are crate training.
“Kristen was amazing. She came by every day while I was on vacation to take care of my dogs, giving them plenty of playtime and snuggles while also making sure the house stayed in order. She even brought packages in and rotated the lights, which helped me feel at ease while I was away. She sent regular updates and photos that showed how happy and relaxed my pups were. She also scheduled a meet and greet a week beforehand and was so thorough and professional. I felt completely comfortable trusting both my dogs and my home to her. I would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her!”

About: Having had dogs all my life, I know firsthand how to give large, loving breeds the care and attention they thrive on. My current dog is a senior German Shepherd-Rottweiler mix, which means I have real, everyday experience with senior dog care... from slower walks to extra patience and comfort. I've also cared for friends' dogs while they were away on vacation, so I'm no stranger to keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable when their owners are gone. I treat every dog I care for as if they were my own. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I'll have plenty of time to take care of your pups. I take daily walks and stay very active, so your pup will get plenty of exercise and outdoor time. Your dog will have a present, attentive caregiver by their side throughout the day. During drop-in visits, I make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable in their own home, sticking to their routine, giving them plenty of attention, and leaving everything just as I found it. On walks, I always keep dogs securely leashed and stay alert to their energy and surroundings. Your home and your pet are treated with complete care and respect.
About: I enjoy spending lots of time playing, walking and even a little training. I have also had senior dogs that need a little extra care and attention. I am recently unemployed and have lots of time available. I would love nothing more than to help as many pets/pet parents as I can. Dogs can enjoy lots of play time and walks as well as maybe a little place time and snacks. I have had senior dogs as well that just need some down time and cuddles.
“We are incredibly thankful we met Emily and that she was able to drop in a few times to take care of our 3 dogs. She is so kind and made us feel like we did not have to worry about anything. She was able to do all the things we requested without any issue. Thank you so much Emily, we can’t wait to book you again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Los Alamitos
Jennifer was a fantastic sitter for my animals while I was on an extended vacation. Not only did she provide detailed descriptions for each visit and plenty of very well shot pictures, but she also brought in unexpected deliveries instead of leaving everything on the porch. I will definitely use her again!

Bronte took a last-minute booking to look after our cat Pacho, which we really appreciated. She had no issues handling his picky eating and daily routine. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly loves animals. We would recommend her without hesitation to other pet parents!

Hana took excellent care of my dog while I was away for four days. She was always punctual, followed all feeding and care instructions carefully, and made sure my dog got regular walks and attention. She provided prompt updates and was very responsive whenever I had questions. It gave me great peace of mind knowing my pet was in such capable and caring hands. I would definitely use her services again.

This is my second time booking with Asmita to take care of my two cats, and once again, she provided amazing service. She is very easy to work with, attentive, and always made sure my cats were well taken care of. She regularly refilled their water, followed all of my requests and instructions, and even helped take care of my mail and packages, which I truly appreciated. What I appreciated the most was the constant updates through pictures and videos, which gave me peace of mind while traveling and being away from my cats. Most importantly, she spent quality time with them and made them feel comfortable and cared for. I will definitely continue working with Asmita whenever I travel, and her service has always been 100%.

OMG! I cannot even BEGIN to say how GRATEFUL I AM to have Jessica watch my furbabies! This is my 1st time using Rover & I wasn't worried for one MINUTE that they weren't in the BEST CARE! She made sure my guy got his insulin shots on TIME & even THOUGH the Princessa didn't HONOR Jessica with her presence, she was still so happy to see me when I got home & was no worse for wear! I would recommend her to anyone looking for caring, responsible person to take care of your precious babies, Jessica is it! You won't regret it!

- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
