“Zoë had such a great time with Sabrina. The communication and pictures during the day helped me to know that my puppy was well-cared for. I would definitely use Sabrina for doggie daycare again!”

About: I have over 10 years of hands on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. As a longtime pet owner, I understand that every pet has unique needs, routines, and temperaments. I previously cared for three dogs of my own and have experience with puppies, adult dogs, senior pets, and multi pet households. I’m comfortable caring for shy or anxious pets and always take the time to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. I can accommodate special feeding schedules, daily routines, and individual care needs to help maintain consistency while you’re away. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets receive plenty of attention, affection, and playtime. I treat every pet like family and keep owners updated with photos and messages throughout their pet’s stay, so they always have peace of mind knowing their furry family member is happy, comfortable, and well cared for. My goal is to make every pet feel right at home. I’m trusted with others animals. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am home throughout the day, allowing me to provide attentive, personalized care from morning to night. Your pet won’t just be checked on, they’ll receive plenty of companionship, playtime, affection, and supervision. I’m able to accommodate special feeding schedules, medication routines, potty breaks, and individual care needs to help keep their routine as normal as possible. Whether your pet is staying for a day or an extended visit, my goal is to provide a safe, loving environment where they feel comfortable, happy, and right at home. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my highest priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and any special care instructions before their stay so they feel as comfortable as possible. I provide a calm, clean, and loving home where pets are closely supervised and treated like family. I have access to a secure, fenced outdoor area within my apartment community for safe potty breaks and fresh air. I’m experienced caring for shy or anxious pets, as well as homes with multiple pets, and I always adapt my care to each animal’s unique needs. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates throughout your pet’s stay, so you can relax knowing your furry family member is safe, happy, and in caring hands.
“Danielle was very attentive and welcoming to Melodie. She gave updates as needed throughout the day Melodie was very energetic when we picked her up. She seemed to really enjoy her stay! We will book with Danielle again ?”

“Amazing dog sitter! Katie took my boy on very last minute and is very sweet and respectful. She did everything above and beyond to make my boy as comfortable as he could be and the photos she sent through the duration proved it. Definitely will rebook. 10/10. Thank you Katie!”

“Last-minute booking due to the Garden Grove/Stanton evacuation, and I was so grateful to find Sara on Rover. She is amazing, caring, and super knowledgeable about dog behavior. My Snow is a shy girl, but with Sara she felt comfortable going on walks and car rides. Sara gave hourly updates and sent lots of pictures throughout the day. She is absolutely a gem, and I would definitely recommend her for dog daycare!”

“Amazing communication. Got back to my request immediately. Took so many photos and videos of my cutie. Highly recommend!!! At pickup my pup was so tired and slept the rest of the day.”

About: Hello there! My husband, two kids, and I live in East Long Beach. Feel free to send me a message to see what we can schedule! Thank you for your time! I currently work part-time from home. My kids (ages 5 & 11) love animals too and they help me out with routine, safety, and making sure each pet feels comfortable and well cared for. We are great at following each pet's routine closely based on the owner's instructions. This includes feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, light exercise, and any medications as directed. We make sure pets feel comfortable and cared for during each visit, clean up after meals or play, and provide photos so owners know their pet is doing well.
About: I enjoy spending lots of time playing, walking and even a little training. I have also had senior dogs that need a little extra care and attention. I am recently unemployed and have lots of time available. I would love nothing more than to help as many pets/pet parents as I can. Dogs can enjoy lots of play time and walks as well as maybe a little place time and snacks. I have had senior dogs as well that just need some down time and cuddles.
“It was our first time leaving our Frenchie and Sue made it easy to do so! She sent me updates throughout the day to let us know how he was doing and what he was up to! Would def recommend Sue! 😊”

“I recently rescued a deaf dog, Artemis, and was nervous about leaving her with a sitter after only a week together. Lisa made the whole experience easy and stress-free. After a meet-and-greet with Lisa and her dog Rigby, followed by a visit to her home, I knew Artemis would be in good hands. During her stay, Lisa provided updates, photos, and videos that gave me peace of mind. Artemis loved the large yard, which gave her plenty of space to run and play. I highly recommend Lisa and would gladly trust her with Artemis again.”

“Maritza is wonderful, she is so kind and good with a nervous dog at daycare for the first time ever, and her equally nervous dog mom. She sent so many photos and videos and my girls really looked like they were happy and well looked after!”

“Ximena did a wonderful job doggy sitting my puppy I was a little nervous since Im a first time puppy owner but she did an excellent job of keeping him happy and entertained thank you I appreciate the work you do.”

“Elise took excellent care of my 12 week old Miniature Pinscher, Alphonse. She sent photos and videos of his day with her and he was having a great time! I will use Elise again to puppy sit my puppy!”

About: I am an experienced dog walker and cat/bird drop-in care. Specialized in emotionally challenged dogs. Very large dogs that pull can be difficult for me to manage. I have availability between 8am and 9pm most days, seven days a week. My availability is uploaded a month in advance. Please book early to guarantee availability. Pet safety is my priority. I am aware of surroundings during walks, particularly for coyotes, and carry pepper spray for extra protection. I also gauge walks based on a dog’s need and capacity.
About: I have been taking care of my family dogs since I was a kid, but as an adult I have owned 4 different dogs and fostered over 30 other dogs and puppies for local rescues. Working with multiple dog trainers each time I adopt a dog for myself I have picked up some great tips and tricks when it comes to working with dogs of all kinds! I work from my home so aside from quick drop offs for my kids to and from school and occasional sporting events, we are usually home. I have a dog who is accustomed to regular potty breaks and at least 1-2 longer walks a day. My townhouse is 2 stories, but the main living areas where we are during the day is all downstairs. My dog naps while I work and would love a cuddle buddy. We go on frequent potty breaks and walks over to the park for exercise!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Los Alamitos
Hands down Michael and Lara are the best daycare and boarding provider I have ever used. Their communication is excellent - messages are responded to promptly - and their care and concern for your pet is evident in the experience they provide. My senior Boxer mix loves playing with their Black Lab, Teddy, and any other pup friends that might be there as well. If you're looking for a safe, stress free experience for daycare or boarding, look no further. They are the real deal and your pup will be in very good hands and will have a great experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

We had a wonderful experience with Lindsay. My puppy is pretty shy and was a bit nervous with her dogs at our first meet and greet. She suggested a half day of doggy care for her to see how it would go, and it was such a good idea. I appreciated the suggestion and the opportunity for my puppy to settle in and feel comfortable before scheduling a longer period of time. Lindsay gave me frequent updates with pictures so I could see how she was doing. It went well, and my puppy was very well cared for. It was a positive experience, and I definitely plan to book with her again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Los Alamitos commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
