“My family and I were traveling to Disneyland from Washington state with our English Mastiff pup (7.5 months/ 95lbs.) Katie was very friendly, communicative, responsive, provided amazing photo/video updates, accommodated our tentative schedule with no questions asked. She greeted me and my pup with smiles, treats and lots of patience (my pup is a big goofy wrecking ball, much like myself). Her yard was very clean, well kept, and “dog proof”. Her young bull doggies were well behaved and friendly. Katie greeted us at the end of the day with my pup on her leash, walking very calm and in control (hard to do with a wrecking ball 😉). Katie is a pro among amateurs! I highly, highly recommend you book a stay with her!!!”

“Zoë had such a great time with Sabrina. The communication and pictures during the day helped me to know that my puppy was well-cared for. I would definitely use Sabrina for doggie daycare again!”

About: "I’ve loved and cared for dogs since high school, treating every pup like my own family. I offer dedicated personal attention, sticking closely to their normal routine with daily walks, active playtime, regular feeding, and frequent photo updates for complete peace of mind." I have school on Mondays from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Aside from that short window, my schedule is flexible and open for dedicated pet care. I prioritize pet safety by maintaining a secure home environment with constant supervision. I closely follow all care instructions, keep dogs safely leashed during walks, and ensure your pet feels secure, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jennifer was absolutely wonderful with our pup! She took incredible care of him and was so kind and communicative throughout the entire stay. We loved receiving the photo updates she sent, which gave us total peace of mind knowing he was happy and safe. It was completely clear that our pup had a fantastic time with her. We absolutely recommend Jennifer’s services to anyone looking for a top-notch pet sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Derek is a great caregiver. We had him watch our 5 month old Maltipoo for a day while the family spent the day at Disneyland. He sent us videos and pictures throughout the day of the walks and playful moments. You can tell that Derek really loves dogs and treats them as if it were his own. We reached out to multiple potential caregivers on Rover prior to deciding on Derek. One of the things I really liked about Derek prior to meeting him was that he was the only one that proactively suggested having a meet and greet to make sure it was a good fit for both parties. That really gave me a good impression from the start and it turned out to be the right decision!”

“Katherine was great with our dogs, took them on adventures and significant doggie park time. Perfect for taking care of our dogs while we went to Knotts for the day. Hands down one of the best sitters we've found on Rover so far, highly recommend!!”

About: I had a fur-baby for 18 years. Once I was old enough I started learning to take care of her so I could be her primary caretaker. Once she passed we did adopt another puppy. I would make his puppy formula. I potty trained and taught him tricks. Im great at providing care for dogs of all ages. I as well have taken care of friends and family pets when they are on vacation. I am currently working on my own time. That means I can work whenever there is anyone in need of service or assistance. I as well am able to work around any plans. I can provide whatever is needed from me. I can follow instructions thoroughly and I’m a quick thinker. I’m an active person so your pet will have a fun time and I’ll be constantly making sure they are safe.
“Maria was wonderful to my baby Milkshake. There was plenty of communication with how she was adjusting and how her day was going. With the amount of separation anxiety my dog has, I was surprised and relieved to see her so relaxed with Maria through the pictures that were sent to me. Maria's husband was also there to provide care for Milkshake when Maria had to step away for a bit. I would love to have her as Milkshake's sitter again.”

“Alex was so great with my senior dog Charlie. I had a last minute emergency and he responded so quickly. Alex and his family took very good care of him and kept me updated with pics and messages throughout the day on Charlie’s naps, comfort level, and feedings. I felt very comfortable knowing my dog was in great hands and was always cuddled up with them. Thank you so so much!! Will definitely reach out again!”

About: I enjoy spending lots of time playing, walking and even a little training. I have also had senior dogs that need a little extra care and attention. I am recently unemployed and have lots of time available. I would love nothing more than to help as many pets/pet parents as I can. Dogs can enjoy lots of play time and walks as well as maybe a little place time and snacks. I have had senior dogs as well that just need some down time and cuddles. I have a big fenced in backyard that allows for lots of playtime or maybe some rest in the shade.
“My beagle Roe had an amazing time staying with Akiko for the day! She is very sensitive and it was my first time dropping her off somewhere but she had a great time! Akiko sent me so many pictures throughout the day and I could tell Roe was being really well cared for by her and her family!”

“Last-minute booking due to the Garden Grove/Stanton evacuation, and I was so grateful to find Sara on Rover. She is amazing, caring, and super knowledgeable about dog behavior. My Snow is a shy girl, but with Sara she felt comfortable going on walks and car rides. Sara gave hourly updates and sent lots of pictures throughout the day. She is absolutely a gem, and I would definitely recommend her for dog daycare!”

“Wendy was my dog's first Rover sitter. The experience could not have been any better! He sent updates and photos throughout the day, and took amazing care of my fur baby. I will definitely be asking him again!”
About: I’ve been caring for dogs for over 15 years, and I have two of my own. Dogs are incredibly loyal and express their love in truly remarkable ways. I thoroughly enjoy taking care of them and love going for walks with them. Dogs have always been an integral part of my life, and I assure you that you won’t be disappointed if you choose me to take care of your furry love one. I’ll treat them with the utmost care and attention. I stay home full-time and have a flexible schedule that includes early morning workouts. In the afternoon, I take my dogs for an hour-long walk while I do other house chores. They have the freedom to go outside and take a walk or simply relax. Jennifer is the most patient, loving and nurturing person I have ever met. She has become a huge part of my puppies upbringing and crucial to our lives as well. Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
