“We are always anxious about leaving Waffles with someone so we picked Katherine due to her excellent reviews. She is very responsive, she was available to meet us ahead of time and she is very communicative and detailed. She sent us updates and photos and I can see Waffles had a great time with her. We not only recommend her but will definitely book her more often. Thank you for giving us peace of mind while away from our baby!”

About: I am an experienced dog walker and cat/bird drop-in care. Specialized in emotionally challenged dogs. Very large dogs that pull can be difficult for me to manage. I have availability between 8am and 9pm most days, seven days a week. My availability is uploaded a month in advance. Please book early to guarantee availability. Pet safety is my priority. I am aware of surroundings during walks, particularly for coyotes, and carry pepper spray for extra protection. I also gauge walks based on a dog’s need and capacity.
“Highly recommend Jenni! She was flexible with time, and very attentive with sending us updates on how marlow was doing through her time there. I definitely will be referring her to friends!”

“Akiko was super responsive and communicative before and during Huxley’s stay. We felt very reassured that he would not only be safe with her but well cared for and have a good time. Her whole family was very kind, we will definitely book with her again.”

“Diego loved daycare at Michelle’s house. We did a meet and greet with her dogs to make sure they’d get along and it went great. She took him out frequently. She updated me with photos and messages throughout his stay. We are comfortable leaving our dog with Michelle and definitely recommend her!”

“Marco had a wonderful day! I really appreciated all the updates and photos throughout his stay. It was great seeing that he got a nice walk and lots of attention. He came home happy and relaxed, which is always the best sign. Thank you for taking such good care of him — I would definitely book again!”

“Heather is super caring and dog friendly. My dog Sokka knows when we pull up to her house because gets super excited and whiny. He fairly launches out of the car to get to her door.”

About: I have 2 dogs, and have taken care of many dogs & cats over the years! I love being active (playing fetch, going on walks) and taking the time and attention to bring out the best and quirky parts of their personality <3 I work from home, so I am flexible with times/dates/working on the weekdays. I am a morning person, so am able to take them early mornings if needed! I take care of pets both at my house and at client’s houses. I have a large grass front yard, and a fully fenced off house. I also live next to a park and can walk them there everyday. I have a large Bernedoodle and a medium sized Lagotto Romagnolo at home to keep them company. We have a large crate if crate is requested/necessary.
“Cheryline was incredibly friendly, flexible, and made the whole process so easy. She took great care of Charlie, and I had peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.”

“We had an excellent experience with our pet sitter and would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care. From the beginning, communication was clear, prompt, and professional, which immediately gave us confidence in leaving our pets in their care. While we were away, we received regular updates, including messages and photos, which really helped put our minds at ease. It was clear that our pets were not just being “checked on,” but genuinely cared for and given attention, affection, and time. Our sitter followed all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walk routines, and any special needs, without any issues. When we returned home, our pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. Everything in the home was also neat and in order, which we really appreciated. It’s not easy to find someone you can fully trust with your pets, but we felt completely comfortable throughout the entire experience. We will definitely be booking again in the future and are very grateful for the peace of mind they provided. Highly recommended—truly a 5-star experience from start to finish.”

“Absolutely love taking my girls with Maritza. She’s made me feel at ease since day 1 with tons of updates and pictures. My dogs get home exhausted and so happy! Thank you Maritza!”

“Vanessa was great. We had a family emergency and were out of town. She allowed a meet and greet on short notice. She was very communicative and helped care for my timid dog. It helped me be more at ease knowing my dog was in good hands while tending to our family and being gone for a whole day.”

“I continue to book with Savannah and I just love her energy, she is such a good person and you can tell she is great with dogs. My baby Pockets love her and her family. I can tell he enjoys his time while I’m away working. Thank you so much 🙏🏽💖”

“Katie was a God send, truly an amazing person and excellent animal lover. Her skills definitely show in the care she gives and the communication she keeps with you. Will definitely book again with her if I get the chance! Luna had a blast!”

“Gloria was absolutely the best! Mary had an amazing time and completely fell in love with Gloria’s bulldog, Boba. By the end of the visit, they were best friends — Mary was still looking for Boba on the way home! The photos and videos turned out awesome and captured so many great moments. If you’re looking for an awesome dog sitter, look no further because it doesn’t get better than Gloria and Romel!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of my baby 🐶 It was my first time booking with Mike and Ja Hyung, and they sent videos and photos throughout the day to make sure Louie was doing well. I will definitely book again! 🤩”

“Had to do a last minute booking and Alexis was able to accommodate us and even did a last minute extension due to the evacuation, she is a literal life savor. 100% would rebook in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cypress
Hands down Michael and Lara are the best daycare and boarding provider I have ever used. Their communication is excellent - messages are responded to promptly - and their care and concern for your pet is evident in the experience they provide. My senior Boxer mix loves playing with their Black Lab, Teddy, and any other pup friends that might be there as well. If you're looking for a safe, stress free experience for daycare or boarding, look no further. They are the real deal and your pup will be in very good hands and will have a great experience. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

We loved receiving the photo updates she sent, which gave us total peace of mind knowing he was happy and safe. It was completely clear that our pup had a fantastic time with her. We absolutely recommend Jennifer’s services to anyone looking for a top-notch pet sitter, and we will definitely be booking with her again!

Jennifer is the most patient, loving and nurturing person I have ever met. She has become a huge part of my puppies upbringing and crucial to our lives as well. She is so understanding towards animals and people. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her! She’s always available and updates me constantly with pictures and videos of my pup. I never had a doubt or a worry for my pup when dropping him with Jennifer. If you’re looking for your pets to feel safe, loved and cared for Jennifer is the best of the best!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
