“I had a wonderful experience with Marne as my pet sitter. She was communicative and reliable. I received regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. My cats were happy, well cared for, and comfortable when I returned. I would love to book her again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.”

About: Animals have been part of my life since childhood — dogs, bunnies, horses, and even llamas. I’ve had everything from boxers to Frenchies and chihuahuas, so I’m great with all personalities, from shy pups to big goofy puppies. I genuinely treat every pet like family and focus on creating a loving, safe space while you’re away. I work remotely on an East Coast schedule, so I’m typically finished by early afternoon. This gives me availability for walks, drop-ins, and overnight care. Evenings and weekends are flexible, and I’m able to spend quality time with your dog. I care for pets in your home by following your routine — feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I keep your pet comfortable, happy, and cared for while also keeping your home clean and safe. I send regular photos and updates so you feel confident they’re doing great.
“Josh and samantha were amazing!!!!! They accommodated a last-minute request for multiple walks while my family went to Disneyland. They were attentive, responsive, took great care of our dog. Best Rover experience we've had!!”

“Krystal was a great pet sitter! She took amazing care of two cats, one of which who has special care requirements, and sent thorough updates during her visits. We’ll definitely be booking again!”

About: I have grown up with my dog since fourth grade. I did the potty training, picking the poop, walks and more. As a college student, I would be homesick primarily because I miss my dog. I will cherish your pet with as much love as I have. I will find so much joy in watching your pet. I am currently on summer break therefore have several free time to spend with your pup. I will devote time and energy to give your dog love! I am available to drive to your home so your pet feels more safe. I will provide your pet with love by walking him/her, feeding and giving all the belly rubs the dog desires.
About: I’ve had a dog the past 8 years and have dog sat for friends and neighbours countless times! I love walking them and giving them all the love they can handle! I’m currently working part time as a nanny and am beginning my masters in nursing this fall. My schedule is fairly flexible and I’m looking forward to giving your dogs all the love and attention! I have a no issues crating a dog or training them. I crate trained my dog and taught her basic commands such as sit and stay.
About: Local TCU student home for the summer who loves animals and is looking for a fun, flexible side gig. I’m responsible, easygoing, and happy to hang out with dogs and treat them like my own. I’m currently home for the summer working a part-time job and looking to fill the gaps with pet care. I already take care of my energetic Duck Tolling Retriever, so I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding, and general care. Attention to your pet, routines, and instructions are my top priority! I make sure they’re fed on time, get plenty of attention and exercise, and feel comfortable and relaxed. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of the space, keep things tidy, and always make sure doors, leashes, and gates are secure. My own dog is always on the move, so I’m used to staying aware of things like open doors and food left out.
About: Since the day I started talking, all I did was ask my parents for a dog. When I turned 9, that dream came true. Buddy was not just a dog, he was an essential part of our family. For fifteen wonderful years we created special memories, inside jokes, nicknames, and an unconditional love from not only us to him but from him to us. In his final years Buddy developed dementia, senior care was never something I had ever put much thought in to. As unfortunate as it is our babies won’t outlive us, giving them the absolute best and most comfortable lives we possibly can is so important. Being a child myself when Buddy came in to our lives, I have true experience with seeing a dog from their first and best days, all the way to the end. These fur babies are just that, our babies, and trusting a stranger with your baby is no small thing! The importance of being not only safe, but loving and kind is something I can always guarantee. The hole that has been left since Buddy left us feels just that much smaller when I get to be around another furry friend 🤍 I work a pretty flexible schedule, I waitress in Newport Beach and am in training to be a Pilates instructor as well. While my schedule does tend to vary, I’m usually in the restaurant Sunday-Wednesday nights with Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays completely off! I live in an apartment, however it is walking distance from the beach and other walking trails. I was raised to leave a place nicer than when you arrived, and between that and my clean freak gene your space will be in good hands! The more instruction for your dog’s routine and information on what will make them happy the better.
“Roxanne was able to help with my pup on super short notice while we were away, which we really appreciated. She was very responsive and replied right away to messages. We loved getting updates and photos during her visits—it gave us great peace of mind. We’ll definitely be reaching out to her again next time we’re in town!”

About: I grew up in Anchorage Alaska where I made money on the side by caring for and exercising my neighbors' hunting dogs. I also took care of chickens, honeybees, and at times stickleback fish (although that was in more of a lab environment). Emily grew up in South Africa in a household with two dogs, a dozen or so semi-feral cats who meander in and out, and a large number of genuinely wild monkeys who help themselves to the kitchen when nobody is looking. She also rode horses all her life. We just (July 2025) added the newest member to our little fam. Shaka! He’s a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is the sweetest little nugget. He loves loves loves other dogs and all humans, especially the girls, who he knows go gaga over him and guarantee belly rubs. Emily is a PhD student working on her dissertation. I recently defended my PhD and now I run a small startup. We both almost always work from home. We are both also enormously active. Emily qualified for Kona in the Iron Man and she has planked for more than 10 minutes at a time (don't tell her I told you that). I am not a super-athlete, but like to get outdoors. We love exercising and will happily exercise with your pets if they are the types of pets that enjoy walks/runs/dog parks. But if not, our dog Shaka would love to have a buddy to hang out with! His favorite game is tug, so we play a lot of that in the back yard. We unfortunately are not currently living in a place that allows dogs other than Shaka. So any care we provide, other than outdoor adventures, will need to be at your home. We closely follow whatever instructions we are provided. As academics we are both extremely accustomed to closely following instructions in an academic or laboratory context. Animals are much easier than lab work. We give animals plenty of attention and, when appropriate, plenty of exercise. If we think there is something wrong we alert the owner immediately and, if necessary, take the animal to the owner's preferred vet. Most importantly, we know how reassuring it is to get nice photos / videos of a happy pup during their stay. So we like to make sure we send those smiles along.
“Vi is a very caring and thoughtful cat sitter. Both of my cats are well cared for because she took note of their personalities and was able to understand their needs on top of following the guide I left behind about them. From how to use their litter robot, auto feeders, to their preferred way to play she was able to do it all.”

“Lily was great! Was able to step in on short notice. Our Taco is a little nervous around new people and Lily's energy was great and he was able to warm up to her while our family was away on vacation. We highly recommend Lily to anyone, and would certainly have her come check on our pets if the need would ever arise again. Thanks, Lily and Rover.com!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have over 10 years of hands-on experience. Right now, I care for my own 7-month-old Belgian Malinois mix puppy, Calico, which has given me plenty of practice handling energetic breeds, training, and creating routines. I also have a gecko, so I’m comfortable caring for exotic pets with unique needs. In the past, I’ve cared for senior dogs too — my current family dog is 12 years old and thriving — so I know how to provide gentle care for older pups. Whether it’s puppies, seniors, or exotic pets, I make sure every animal feels safe, happy, and loved like they’re my own. I currently work part-time, so I have plenty of availability to fit pet care into my routine. Whether you need daily walks, drop-ins, or overnight care, I can be flexible to meet your pet’s needs. :) I make sure every pet has their basic needs met like fresh food, water, bathroom breaks, and a safe, clean environment. I pay close attention to their energy levels, giving active dogs lots of exercise and playtime, while keeping senior or calmer pets comfortable and cared for. Your pet’s safety, well-being, and routine are always my top priorities.
About: Pet sitter in Newport. Quite new to Rover with little experience here now, but I’ve also looked after my own pets always. I’m reliable and calm. I rescued my cat after she was abandoned by ex neighbor and she’s a happy indoor cat now. Flexible schedule and I can come any time of the day. Available most days. Newport Beach, working mainly locally. Send me a message, thank you. For boarding I’m often home during the day too, but sometimes out. Let me know how anything specific you’d like me to do. I will take care of your pets and make sure they’re happy, safe and healthy.

About: Hi! I'm Ashley, a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I've been walking and dog-sitting for friends, family, and neighbors since I was 12, but recently moved to Orange County and would love to meet some new furry friends in the area! ☀️ I grew up surrounded by dogs ranging from a tiny Yorkie to a Chocolate Lab, so I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. I've also been a volunteer with Priceless Pets since 2016, helping care for their dogs and bringing them to community events to help them find their forever homes. As a project manager by day, I'm naturally reliable, organized, and communicative. I know pets are family, and I treat every dog I care for like they're my own! Looking forward to meeting you and your pup 🐶🤎 I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the week, and I'm fully available on weekends. Whether your dog needs a quick lunchtime walk, some company during the day, or a longer morning adventure, I'd be happy to help. I'm usually out getting my steps in anyway, so bringing a pup along is a win-win! I'll always take the time to make sure your pet feels comfortable and gets to know me at their own pace. Whether they're energetic and ready to play or a little shy at first, I'll adapt to their needs to help them feel safe and secure. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I'll keep you updated with photos, videos, and messages throughout our time together. You'll never have to wonder how your pup is doing - my goal is for both you and your pet to feel completely comfortable, confident, and cared for from our first meeting!
About: I recently graduated from college (UCI 🐜) and I have so much time to spare this summer! I am very patient, active, and responsible and I love working with cats and dogs. With any of my available services, I will always make sure to put you and your pets first. I just graduated from college and would love to take care of cats and dogs in the city in the last few months of my lease in California. This gives me a very open and flexible schedule for you and your pets! At my college apartment, I don't have any pets. But at home in New Hampshire, I have two cats, one tortoiseshell and a tuxedo boy who are both indoors. I also grew up with a greater swiss mountain dog and took care of her in her senior years. My experiences aside, I understand that every cat family is different and have different values which, as a sitter, I would deeply respect.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
