“Mary was great! She responded immediately to a last minute request and took amazing care of my puppy. She paid very good attention to him:) I definitely recommend Mary to watch your pet!”

About: 18 years of experience with our own dogs, however, our last remaining dog crossed the rainbow bridge this year and we're looking to share some love with some furry friends again in a different way. I have experience with puppies, shy dogs and senior dogs. We don't have children and truly believe dogs are our kids and should be spoiled as such :) I work from home 5 days a week so I can provide a comforting environment with your pup, ensuring they they have plenty of company and support. I work full-time from home so I have a wide availability and will ensure your pup has plenty of care and company. We are home in the evenings and weekends, but if your pup appreciates a little adventure, we can always walk to the beach or park or whatever they like! We have an unfenced yard so playtime will always be leashed and supervised. If your pup likes a little nap in the sun, we do have a fenced patio where he or she can enjoy some supervised outside time off-leash. Due to coyote presence in Orange County, your pup will never be left outside unsupervised, even in the fenced patio.
“Elise took amazing care of our cat while we were out of town. She sent daily photos to help us feel at ease and kept the litter box clean and food and water bowls full as we asked. It was nice to not have to worry about our little girly cat while we were away. She was in great hands! She also helped drive extra for key pick up and drop out and did a meet and great with our cat before hand. She’s a professional!🐈⬛”

About: I have a genuine love for dogs and a natural ability to make them feel comfortable and at ease. I am very comfortable interacting with dogs of different sizes and personalities. Dogs naturally gravitate toward me, and I enjoy giving plenty of affection, gentle attention, and rubs, and with owner permission, the occasional treat. I always take care to respect each dog’s boundaries, routine, and training. My approach to dog care is calm, attentive, and safety focused. I pay close attention to behavior, energy levels, and cues, and I believe that consistency, kindness, and positive interactions go a long way in helping dogs feel secure. Whether it is a walk, a drop in visit, or companionship while you are away, my goal is to ensure your dog feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I am available from early mornings through mid afternoon on weekdays, with additional availability in the evenings and on weekends. I plan my schedule carefully so that pet visits and walks are never rushed and can be handled consistently around my commitments. This structure allows me to be dependable, responsive, and fully present during each visit while maintaining a routine that works well for both pets and their owners. I provide all pet care exclusively in my clients’ homes, where pets are most comfortable and able to maintain their normal routines. I believe caring for pets in their own environment helps reduce stress and allows me to deliver more consistent, attentive care. During each visit, I follow the owner’s instructions closely regarding feeding, medications, litter or potty routines, walks, playtime, and any special needs. I take time to observe behavior, energy levels, and overall well being, and I adjust my approach to match each pet’s personality and comfort level. I always prioritize safety, cleanliness, and respect for the home. This includes securing doors and gates, keeping feeding and litter areas tidy, and ensuring pets are comfortable before I leave. I also provide updates during visits so owners can feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they are away. I am Pet CPR and First Aid Certified.

About: I grew up on a 10 acre farm in Washington state with several cats, large and small dogs, horses, and chickens. I gained many years of experience volunteering walking dogs at animal shelters growing up with my family and was also in 4H. I feel confident in my ability to care for any animal as I’ve cared for puppies to senior dogs and have experience administering medications. You can trust that I will take your pet care as seriously as I take my own pets care. Thank you for your consideration in trusting me with your beloved pets and home. I’m taking a break from school before going back for my next degree, I don’t have kids besides my two cats so I have a fairly open schedule, we can definitely plan around your pets needs. I’m a very quiet and calm person so my demeanor usually has more timid animals warming up to me in no time. I also have the energy to keep them active with play and engaged in sensory stimulation. I take pride being proactive about cleaning and keeping an immaculate living space and following your specifications exactly.

About: My family has three large labradors, so I’ve grown up with crazy dogs since forever! I know how to handle dogs who have reactive issues on leash because of my own dogs. I’m a college student home for the summer and I’m pretty much free all of the time! I love dogs so I thought trying out Rover would be a fun experience for me! I’m very good at following directions and can do whatever is needed to best care for your dog! I’m open to caring for any size and breed.
About: Welcome to my page! My name is Derek & I have over 35 years of experience with dogs and cats of all sizes. Your pet's health, happiness, and safety is my absolute top priority! I am more than happy to get their tails wagging & motors runnin' with attention, petting, exercise and love. I genuinely appreciate you checking out my profile! I am wide open - available 24/7. I will be starting trade school in about a month but will update my availability once my schedule changes =) I can absolutely adhere to your pet's exact routines - whether it's going for a walk, feeding schedules, refreshing water, etc - I want you and your pet to feel like they're in the best hands, at all times!

“Sofiya was absolutely amazing! She did drop in visits at my house in the evening and my cat loved her. She sent me loads of pictures and videos and great updates throughout my trip. She is super communicative and did a great job! Will definitely book again (-:”

About: Hi, I’m Andrea, an actor, empty-nester, and proud mom to Leia, my Fox Red Labrador retriever (my third Lab - I’m hooked for life!) now that my son is grown and out of the house, I’ve got the time, patience and heart to give your dog the same one-on-one attention I give mine. Here’s what makes me different. I only walk one dog at a time, yours, and mine. No group walks, no juggling, multiple leashes, no distracted sitters. Your pup gets my full attention every single time. * I offer solo walks just your dog, no exceptions * Overnight stays, and vacation care for when you’re away. I’m based in Laguna Beach and I only take clients in Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar and Dana point so I can be familiar, reliable face in your neighborhood, not a stranger driving in from far away. If you want someone who treats your dog like family - because that’s exactly how I treat mine. Let’s set up a meeting and greet with Leah and me. I don’t have a full time job because I’m an actress. I work from home and send in my auditions. I’m also an empty nester so I have a lot of free time on my hands. I live in a secure cottage with a very large yard and close to the beach, with my very zen and friendly 9-year-old Fox Red Labrador who loves other dogs AND cats! I’m on the beach so playtime and walks is along the shore or in the neighborhood!
“Yara was a very caring drop-in for my dog and cat, coming twice a day for 6 days. She got to know both of them quite well, commenting on their different personalities. When I need pet care again I will definitely contact Yara!”

About: I am a dog mom to my 3yr old toy aussie with experience training and caring for puppies and adult dogs. I also love going on long walks and will make sure your fur baby is treated with lots of love and care! Current ICL masters student living in Chelsea with 3+ yrs experience training and taking care of dogs (including my own pup). Flexible availability for last-minute or multi-weekly dog-walking, and potential short-term dog sitting. I take animal care and safety very seriously, especially for smaller dogs like mine that are more prone to sicknesses and injuries. If there are any problems or health concerns I will immediately contact you and if needed get vet care for your dog with your permission. On walks, I will always ask dog-owners if their pet is friendly before having your dog meet them. I will keep your dog and belongings safe and clean, and take full responsibility for any missing or damaged items.
About: Growing up, I always had two dogs. Most recently I had a ChowChow mixed with a German Shepard (a very agggresive rescue) and a pure bread German Shepard. I’d take them on daily walks together and to a dog park to play catch with them and work on training them on my own. When they both passed away, I couldn’t take the heartache to go through the pain again. That’s when, I started to carefor pets to fill my heart and love for dogs without the heartache. Many friends and family have relied on me in Chicago to pet sit for them or take their dogs on walks. When I moved to California I knew I wanted to start pet sitting and dog walking, I just didn’t have an avenue to start it back up until I found Rover. I am very patient, loving and caring. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, age and tempers. Currently, I work from home and am available for boarding all week. My schedule is flexible, so I can devote time to playing with your pups and taking them for walks throughout the day! I live right by the beach and take multiple walks throughout the day with my 4-year-old. We’d love to have your pup tag along with us! I have a two-story place with plenty of room to host your fur baby. Although I do not have a dog of my own at the moment, I do have a 4-year-old who loves dogs just as much as I do and will give them extra cuddles! We live in a great community, and there is plenty of grass in our courtyard for dogs to play or take a quick potty break. We also have a patio and balcony that the dogs can lounge in the sun on. I provide nearly constant companionship, as I am almost always home. However, for your pet’s safety, they should be comfortable staying alone for short periods without causing trouble or being in distress.
About: My husband and I are both dog lovers and have always been the go-to choice to dog-sit when our friends go out of town. We are always thrilled to be able to take care of dogs, especially because we just lost our 12 year old pug to cancer. I am compassionate, energetic, active, responsible, and an early riser. My husband and I will treat your dog as our own! I have my own business, so I do work from home a lot. My hubby and I are home by 5 pretty much everyday, and usually home all day on the weekends. If I we agree to watch your dog, we will not be leaving them alone for extended periods of time and we will also not book any other dogs during that time Without checking with you first. We live in a pretty spacious 2 bedroom apartment. We are 2 blocks from the beach and a beautiful park that overlooks the ocean and we love going on long walks. We allow dogs to roam free in the apartment, but are willing to crate if requested. We have toys, treats, comfy couches, and we even let doggies sleep in the bed with us if they want.

About: Huge dog lover 😍! I grew up with six dogs at home when I was little and my parents are both huge animal lovers. I’ve had my own dog Bentley since I was a senior in college and I’ve taken care of several dogs for friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. I’m currently full-time and 100% work from home for a tech company with a flexible schedule. I love to break my day up with walks, etc and can keep them company majority of the time. I have a side entrance to my building and very minimal people around. I have my own dog Bentley (8 lbs, 13 y/o) to keep them company as well. Happy to crate your dog if needed!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Laguna Beach
We had a wonderful experience with Po! She took great care of our two bulldogs while we were away. She was courteous, reliable, and communicative, keeping us updated with messages and photos throughout our trip. She followed all of our instructions, stayed on schedule, and, most importantly, our dogs absolutely loved her. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable sitter.

Conner was attentive and our dog took to him right away. He came to our house and found his way around very easily. He did a great job with our senior dog, who is a little lazy and stubborn. We appreciate Conner’s communication to keep us updated with pictures and texts along the way. We highly recommend him and will invite him again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
