“Mikayla is the best! We've had her do drop in visits with our cats multiple times and every time she goes above and beyond what is asked of her. It can be hard to find good cat people on this app but now that we've found Mikayla, there's no one else we'd rather have watching our cats while we're gone.”

About: 18 years of experience with our own dogs, however, our last remaining dog crossed the rainbow bridge this year and we're looking to share some love with some furry friends again in a different way. I have experience with puppies, shy dogs and senior dogs. We don't have children and truly believe dogs are our kids and should be spoiled as such :) I work from home 5 days a week so I can provide a comforting environment with your pup, ensuring they they have plenty of company and support. I work full-time from home so I have a wide availability and will ensure your pup has plenty of care and company. We are home in the evenings and weekends, but if your pup appreciates a little adventure, we can always walk to the beach or park or whatever they like! We have an unfenced yard so playtime will always be leashed and supervised. If your pup likes a little nap in the sun, we do have a fenced patio where he or she can enjoy some supervised outside time off-leash. Due to coyote presence in Orange County, your pup will never be left outside unsupervised, even in the fenced patio.
“Elise was amazing! I was very comfortable leaving our kitty, Gemma in her hands while we were away. Appreciate her clear communication and the care she gave. I would recommend her to anyone!”

About: Growing up with a mom who is allergic to animals meant I never had pets of my own, but I’ve always had a huge love for animals. I started pet sitting at a young age for neighbors, friends, and family, and I’ve loved getting to care for pets as if they were my own. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each pet’s unique personality and needs. Whether it’s energetic puppies who need playtime and training reinforcement, senior pets who need extra patience and care, or simply giving your pet companionship while you’re away, I’m dedicated to making them feel safe, loved, and happy. I am currently home for the summer and have a very flexible schedule, giving me plenty of time to dedicate to your pets and provide whatever care they need. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and companionship throughout the week. I love incorporating pet care into my routine by making time for exercise, outdoor activities, and giving animals the attention and affection they deserve. I’m happy to work around your pet’s schedule and ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. I provide care in my client’s home by following their pet’s routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and giving them plenty of love and attention. I prioritize making pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while their owners are away.

About: What sets me apart is a lifetime of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds—dogs, cats, and horses. I understand the needs of pets at every stage of life, from energetic puppies to wise seniors, and I know how to adapt my care to each one. I’m comfortable with training basics, administering medications, and giving extra attention to pets with special needs. Most importantly, I bring genuine patience, love, and an intuitive understanding of animals’ moods and personalities, creating a safe, happy space where every pet feels truly cared for. I have open availability while exploring job opportunities and am flexible for both weekdays and weekends. I’m happy to provide services in the Newport and Laguna Beach neighborhoods and am excited to connect with new clients. I focus on creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment. I follow their routines closely—feeding, walking, playtime, and any special care they need—so they feel secure and at ease. I give plenty of attention and affection, monitor their behavior for any signs of stress or discomfort, and make sure they get exercise and mental stimulation appropriate to their age and personality. Whether it’s a quiet cuddle on the couch, interactive play, or simply being present, my goal is to make every pet feel happy, loved, and cared for as if they were my own.

I am available most evening from 4:00 pm onward. Tuesdays and Thursday I am available for multiple hours throughout the day! Contact me about weekend! I have a car for walks in the park and a large backyard for the dogs to roam in under my supervision. Your pet will be in good care! I also love walks and hikes and am happy to walk your pup within your comfort zone!
“Yarira was absolutely amazing. We booked her services for three days to watch our cats while we had our baby. We ended up needing to stay at the hospital longer and she was so accommodating and flexible. She sent photos of our cats and went above and beyond. Can’t say enough good things!!”

“Shagun was amazing with our pup. She went above and beyond and really gave our dog the attention and activity she was craving. She was prompt every day, a great communicator, and hopefully we would have her help us out again in the future.”

About: I have had dogs my entire life, and from a young age I have been responsible for their care. I have been dog-sitting for neighbors and friends since I was a little kid. I am most experienced with large and small dog breeds. I currently have a 6-year-old Great Pyrenees named Bowie who loves all dogs and people, and a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Wiener dog mix named Lola who also loves all dogs and people. I also have a 12-year-old Indian Ringneck parrot named Cloudy. Cloudy is kept away from dogs when out of the cage for his safety. I am also experienced with small to medium-sized birds and can pet-sit for them as well. I trained both of my dogs myself, and they are very well behaved. I can care for dogs with all sorts of needs or special care; I follow instructions to a T, and all pets are treated like family in my home. I work part-time, and while my work schedule is not regular, my pet schedule does not change. I wake up at 8:30 every morning, and the first thing I do is walk and feed my dogs and my bird. If I am not home, my mom, who is just as experienced with pets as I am, will be home, and she will walk our dogs. I feed my dogs between 4:30 and 5. I try my best to have a walking schedule of every 2-3 hours. This usually looks like an 8:30 am walk, 11:30 am walk, 2:30 pm walk, 5:30 pm walk, and our last walk is usually at 8:30 pm. At 8:30 pm, depending on the dogs' mood, I will either let them go to the bathroom in the yard or take them for a walk if they have some energy left. My schedule is always open to change given your dogs' needs. All my pets get 24/7 snuggles, but I am more than capable of giving a dog their space if they just like to co-exist. My dogs are given kibble and a mix of Greek yogurt, cooked turkey, and green beans as their topper. Lola struggles with her weight, so we do usually put food up after about 30 minutes to prevent her from eating our other dogs' unfinished food. Bowie has a lot of allergies, so we usually stick to turkey, salmon, and duck-based foods for his sensitive tummy. Bowie has lots of hair, so in the evenings I usually like to brush him while I watch TV, so I am more than happy to brush your dog if that is something they are interested in. Our home is two stories, and we keep my bird Cloudy upstairs, so if there are any issues between your pet and my bird, it is not a problem if we have to keep them separated. Our backyard is more of a cement patio. We have a patch of turf for them to potty, and we have a really high fence with no gaps, so don't fret if your pet is an escape artist; I am readily equipped! Lola used to be a runner before she got chunky, so I am also experienced in safely handling dogs that like to try and slip out the front door. I do walk our dogs on non-retractable leads as I find that it instills the best walking manners. When I walk my dogs, it is usually just around my neighborhood, which is about a 15-minute loop, but I also have excellent walking trails outside my neighborhood that I can walk the dogs on if your dog would like some extra long walk and sniff time. Lastly, we do not crate our dogs, but if your dog needs to be crated, we can accommodate that. Every situation is unique, and every dog has their own needs, and I will handle them with the utmost compassion and understanding.

“Sofiya was absolutely amazing! She did drop in visits at my house in the evening and my cat loved her. She sent me loads of pictures and videos and great updates throughout my trip. She is super communicative and did a great job! Will definitely book again (-:”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Laguna Beach. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
