“Victoria was great! She helped us last minute when I was in a bind and sent me pics of my happy dog throughout the day. She was also very dependable and communicative. Highly recommend!”

About: I am new to Rover but began pet sitting for neighbors at 16 years old. I have experience with both small and large dogs, including my own 90 lb lab who I trained from an 8 week old puppy into adulthood. You can feel at complete ease knowing your dog will be well cared for in a very loving, comfortable, and clean home while you are away. We have a big, fully fenced-in back yard, as well as a nice neighborhood for walks. I am home all day and am able to accommodate anything your dog needs. I have a very flexible schedule and am able to accommodate both daytime care as well as multi-night overnight boarding with full availability with advanced notice. We have a fully-fenced in back yard as well as a clean home for your dog to feel comfortable while you are away. We also have a very friendly 2.5 year old male English Lab to be a playmate and keep your dog company.
“Kaela was wonderful with Shaka and we will definitely leave him with her again. She is thoughtful and kind with the puppy and he’s excited to see her when I drop him off in the morning. 10/10 great dog sitter!”

“Kermit loves Jeff, Keersi and their doodle Scuba! Best sitter of all time. They have taken such good care of my dog and I feel at ease knowing that he is in such good hands. If Kermit could have it his way, he would hangout with them everyday! Couldn’t be happier and truly am so thankful for them”

“Lisa is absolutely amazing! I know my fur baby is so well taken care of. He came home so tired, in the best way and she updates with lots of pictures. We are so lucky we came across Lisa and will definitely continue to use her.”

“I highly recommend Dristi if you need loving & responsible pet care! She was responsive, heeded all instructions, and best of all cared for my dog like he was her own. Her kindness and openness really put me at ease.”

About: I have grown up with animals all of my life. With busy working parents, I was often the one doing most of the animal care. I grew up with 2 large German Shepherds and 2 cats, so I am familiar with handling large breeds and taking care of multiple animals at once. I am a huge animal lover and have always been a natural pet caregiver. The well-being of animals is my top priority. I am currently working remotely and so I will be home and available to take care of your pets. I am also completely available on the weekends. I love to be outside and walking! I can’t wait to take lovely long walks with pets. Additionally, my favorite pastime is cuddling with furry friends on the couch!
About: I’m the kind of person who greets the dog before the human. Hi! My name is Amerys, but you can just call me Am and your furry family can call me “woof”. ☺️ I have my own wonderful pups and kitties, have worked in a veterinary hospital, dog boarding facility and have been walking and caring for dogs for over a decade. Caring for animals isn’t just something I do, it’s something I truly love. Whether your pup loves long walks, slow sniff-filled adventures, energetic games of fetch, or just extra cuddles and companionship, I’m happy to match their pace and personality. I believe every pet deserves patience, kindness, and lots of positive attention. No breed is too big or too small, I enjoy getting to know every dog’s unique personality and am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I’ll treat them like they’re part of my own family, making sure they feel loved and secure while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. You can expect plenty of updates, photos, and communication so you always know how your pet is doing. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a neighborhood walk, or keeping your pet company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they get the care, exercise, and affection they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and earning the approval of your four-legged best friend! 🐾 I’m currently in online graduate school for pharmacy, so I complete my coursework from home and have a very flexible schedule. This allows me to be available throughout the day and night and provide attentive, around-the-clock care for your pet. Your pet will not be left alone for long periods, and I can easily accommodate regular walks, frequent potty breaks, feeding schedules, medication times, playtime, cuddles, and plenty of individual attention. Because I am home most of the time, I can closely monitor your pet’s behavior, appetite, energy level, bathroom habits, and overall comfort. I understand that being away from their family can sometimes make pets anxious, so I do everything possible to keep their routine familiar, calm, and comforting. Whether your pet enjoys staying active, relaxing beside me while I study, sleeping in my bed, or simply having someone nearby, I will adjust my day around their individual personality and needs. When your pet stays with me, they are treated like a member of my family—not simply another booking. Their safety, comfort, health, and happiness are always my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, allergies, walking routines, sleeping arrangements, behavioral needs, and any household rules you would like maintained. I am also happy to continue any training commands or routines you use at home so your pet has as much consistency as possible. I am home most of the day because I attend graduate school online, which means I can provide frequent supervision and around-the-clock care. Your pet will receive regular potty breaks, walks based on their age and energy level, fresh water, meals served on schedule, playtime, affection, and plenty of opportunities to rest. I never force interaction and allow each pet time to settle in and become comfortable at their own pace. I have my own friendly dog and cat, so I always introduce animals carefully and supervise their interactions. I can provide separate areas when pets need personal space, quiet time, separate feeding, or a slower introduction. If your pet is not comfortable around other animals, I can also care for them in your home through walks, drop-in visits, or overnight stays. I have a good-sized patio with grass for convenient potty breaks and fresh air, while still providing regular walks and exercise. Pets are welcome on my furniture and in my bed, but I also have a crate available when requested by the owner or when it is already part of the pet’s normal routine. I have experience working in a veterinary hospital and have cared for dogs and cats of different breeds, sizes, ages, personalities, and medical needs. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, eating, drinking, bathroom habits, mobility, or energy. In the event of an emergency, I will contact you immediately and follow your preferred veterinary instructions. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet with someone else, so communication is very important to me. I will provide regular photo and video updates, along with honest information about how your pet is eating, sleeping, playing, and adjusting. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing that your pet is safe, loved, supervised, and receiving the same thoughtful care I would want for my own animals.
“Eileen did a great job with our 2 dogs. They aren’t the easiest dogs to handle but she had no problems with them. She took them on some long walks, and sent plenty of photos. We would definitely use her again, and highly recommend her for anyone looking for a great sitter.”

About: With over 45 years experience caring for dogs, I truly love them & treat every pup like family. I've cared for different breeds & sizes, from 10lbs to 150lbs. I provide loving, safe, dependable care & will give your pets the attention, patience, & affection they deserve. I'm currently retired, which gives me the flexibility to provide your pet with plenty of time, attention, and care throughout the day and night. There will be lots of potty breaks, sun bathing & play time while they get tons of love & affection! I have a large fenced yard and a 9 Year old English Bulldog, Maggie, who would love to keep your pets company during their stay.

About: Dog mom to a 7 yr old golden retriever and active therapy dog volunteer. Years of experience pet sitting and a lifelong love of dogs. I work full remote Monday-Friday. I also live an active lifestyle outside of work hours, consisting of multiple walks daily, frequent hikes, beach trips, and trips to the dog park. A typical day with my own dog consists of a morning walk/breakfast and a lunch time walk. After work, we like to get our exercise in by going for a hike, long walk, fetch, dog park, beach, etc. Then come home for dinner and cuddles. Since I work from home in a small apartment, I am always aware and attentive to what is going on. I have a dog of my own, so frequent walks and potty breaks for him are built into my work schedule. I have an extremely flexible work schedule, making me always available for your pets needs.

About: I have had dogs in my home for my whole life. I am the go-to dog sitter for my family and friends when they go out of town. I now have a dog of my own and have been loving every second of it. I love all dogs and will take care of your dog like they are my own. I currently work from home! I have a dog of my own and she is very chill with other dogs. Because I have my own dog, she is fully incorporated into my daily routine. I usually don’t leave the house more than once a day and it’s usually for 2-3 hours max. I go on one to two walks a day depending on my work schedule but that can be adjusted to your dogs needs. I have a fenced in backyard that my dog loves to hang out in. My dog is friendly and is tolerant of other dogs. I keep a very clean home and have plenty of toys around to play with.

“We had Matthew watch our dog while we took our daughter to Disneyland for the day. He kept us updated and sent pictures all day. We would definitely use him again when we come into town.”

“Vi is a wonderful attentive caregiver for doggies. Lovely household setting makes you feel at ease. Very patient with our high anxiety German Shepherd. Vi was even able to point out an issue with our dogs paw we had not yet noticed.”

About: I have been a dog lover my whole life! Over the last 13 years, I’ve raised my Jack Russell Chihuahua mix from puppy to healthy senior. Like most millennials, I bought the house with a yard for my dog! I work from home in the tech industry, which allows me to spend all day with your pups, giving them attention throughout the day, taking them for regular walks and potty breaks, and tending to their needs. I live on a quiet block with a peaceful enclosed backyard. I would love to host your fur babies! Full time work from home, flexible schedule that allows for multiple potty breaks and walks. My dog usually walks 3 times a day (15 min each), which I could easily incorporate an additional dog to the walks. The back door is kept open weather permitting for dogs to sniff, sunbathe, and explore. Each pet’s care is unique! Whether that is walking them alone, specific dietary needs, or toys that are off limit. I work closely with you and your pet to tailor to their needs, and ensure a happy and comfortable stay. I always suggest a meet and greet prior to first stay, so we can review your expectations, learn more about how to best communicate with your pet, and ensure we are on the same page for care needs.

Dan was excellent in every way. Great with Charlie and took extra care with her since it was her first time with him. He was outstanding in communicating with me and very responsive to every message I sent. I highly recommend him and I hope to use his services again very soon.

Kaela totally exceeded my expectations! This was my rescue’s first time being dog sat in someone else’s home, and Kaela made sure to make it as comfortable and safe as possible. She’s very knowledgeable about dog behavior and had great communication. Totally put me and my dog at ease! Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Jessica was great with our 6 month old puppy Wilbur! Even with his frequent bathroom breaks she gave him lots of attention and love. We really appreciated the pictures updates and communication throughout. We would be lucky to have Jessica take care of Wilbur again!

Hillary was absolutely wonderful with my pup. She handled all communication promptly and gave me a heads up when it was needed. My pup was well fed and even felt comfortable enough to take a swim and cuddle! I cannot think of a better sitter for her. My pup is a handful, but Hillary really rose to the challenge. We will be back.

Dristi was amazing! She was so loving and attentive to our 5 month old puppy Ocean. She gave her special attention the whole day and even took her on a hike/ walk by the water which Ocean absolutely loved! She sent a ton of cute pics and checked in with me throughout the day with updates. Thank you so much, Dristi for making Ocean feel safe and loved.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
