“Daniella and her husband were so great! We had a last-minute trip to the beach for our son’s birthday, but our puppy hasn’t been socialized enough for the dog beach yet so we needed someone to watch him. We found Daniella on the app and they were able to take Maddox in within an hour. They were so kind to us and patient with our puppy and made sure to send pictures and keep us updated for the afternoon.”

“Lola came back to me in one whole piece and happy :) thank you Kristin for taking care of my child (yes, I refer to my doggy as my child)! I will definitely book with you again when in need :)”

“Need to rant and rave about May and Zac. OMG so glad we selected their services. From the moment we communicated, we felt confidant with them. They expressed a level of care and attention a pet owner could only ask for. They went above and beyond. We dropped off our pup and we felt assured during the greeting. May followed up with updates during pups stay. What can we say, from start to finish, the experience was above and beyond our expectation. Looking forward to future visits!”

“Catherine was a perfect dog sitter. She was so nice to my dog and my dog had so much fun with her. She was a fast responder, very punctual, and kept me updated throughout the day. She was also very accommodating. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning in the future!”

About: My family has had at least two dogs to love on at any given time for long as I can remember. Growing up with dogs like that truly opens your heart to see just how much they’re a part of the family! There will be two of us here to make your pup feel comfortable in their home away from home. Added bonus, one of us will always be home with them to walk, play and get out to adventure around. We love getting out for frequent walks and a few rounds of fetch at the park down the street. We’ve had experience with older dogs, those requiring medication (orally and via injection), and even deaf/blind pups that need extra support. We love all pups equally. I work from home and take frequent breaks to snuggle and walk with our family dog. Happy to do the same with your fur baby as well! We live in a safe, gated community with lots of pet owners around looking out for one another. We have a fenced in area to bask in the sun, screen doors to ensure pets are kept in safely, always enforce leash wearing.
About: Dogs have always been part of my life. I grew up with everything from king-sized Dobermans to Jack Russells and mixed breeds, and I’ve never met a dog I didn’t want to be friends with. My family jokes that one day we’ll end up owning a dog ranch because we seem to fall in love with every pup we meet. Until that dream becomes reality, we love opening our home and caring for other people’s dogs. As a work-from-home family, your dog gets plenty of attention, playtime, walks, belly rubs, and companionship throughout the day. Whether your pup is energetic and adventurous or prefers naps and cuddles, we’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. We know dogs aren’t just pets, they’re family. That’s exactly how we’ll treat yours. Work from home so we like to walk our own dog daily, multiple times a day. We also have a large, fenced yard that has been a great dog run for our little one Lupe. Plenty of yard to roam around, not to mention great parks near by for runs. 8ft high fenced walls. We have a pool and grass yard big enough for 40 dogs to enjoy. We can easily fit a crate if you prefer that, but otherwise we love to let our Lupe come in and out as she pleases. Plenty of shade under our fruit trees, and plenty of running back and forth.

About: I’ve loved and been around dogs my entire life and caring for them truly comes second nature to me. I grew up in an animal loving home and had my own dog Leo for 12 amazing years, so I understand firsthand how much trust it takes to leave your furry baby in someone else’s care. I treat every dog like my own and always focus on making them feel safe, happy, and loved. I also volunteer regularly at animal rescues and shelters, where I work with dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. This has given me hands on experience with everything from energetic puppies to shy or anxious dogs who need a little extra care and confidence building. I personally trained my own dog from a young age, so I’m comfortable reinforcing basic commands, maintaining routines, and handling different behaviors calmly and confidently. Whether your pup needs fun, an active walk, a little structure, or just extra snuggles and reassurance, I’m happy to tailor care to their unique personality. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and attentive to detail—I’ll always keep you updated with photos and notes so you can feel at ease while you’re away. My goal is to make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved every step of the way. I work from home doing wedding and event design, which gives me a flexible, laid back schedule so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog! I love getting outside, whether it’s a leisurely neighborhood stroll or an energetic beach walk, and I enjoy making every outing fun and safe. Being home most of the day also means your pup will have company, attention, and plenty of love whenever they need it. I live in an extremely dog friendly apartment community right across from the beach, with two fully enclosed dog parks one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs plus multiple clean potty areas. My home is on the 3rd floor with elevators, so stairs aren’t an issue if your dog prefers to avoid them. Inside, we have plenty of space for your dog to feel comfortable, whether they like a large dog bed, a crate, or just room to lounge. We also have a dog door that leads to a spacious patio where your pup can safely relax and soak up the sun. I prioritize safety at all times, whether we’re on walks, at the dog parks, or hanging out at home. Your dog will always be supervised, cared for, and comfortable in a secure environment.
About: We've had many dogs in our lives and love to give them attention. Your baby will be as loved as our baby. Our home is small but very pet friendly. I work from home so I will always be around to give them the care they need. They will get plenty of walks, hugs, pets and treats if allowed. Our home is very safe. We have a runner in our home so we make sure they stay in the house at all times. We also will give walks as needed.
About: I bring over 35 years of hands-on pet care experience, having grown up with and cared for cats, dogs, and a wide range of animals throughout my life. I’ve raised and trained dogs, including puppies, and have extensive experience caring for cats both personally and for friends and neighbors. My daughter Coral, who is almost 14, lives with me. She has grown up around animals as well and has learned how to safely bathe, walk, and care for dogs through helping with her friends’ pets and our shared love for animals. We live in a safe, beautiful, dog-friendly coastal neighborhood just steps from the ocean and beach park, offering an ideal environment for walks, exercise, and calm outdoor time. Pets in our care receive consistent attention, affection, and a peaceful environment. Cats are also welcome in our care and can enjoy a calm, secure home environment with safe outdoor exposure if appropriate. Above all, we treat every animal like part of the family and focus on creating a stable, loving, and attentive experience where pets feel comfortable, understood, and cared for. Pet care fits naturally into my daily rhythm and is something I can consistently and reliably integrate throughout the week. Mornings are ideal for early walks and I’m available for overnights any day of the week. I work for myself from home and see clients throughout the day, which allows me to be present and attentive while still maintaining a flexible schedule. While I may step out for appointments, I’m generally home and able to check in regularly. Weekends offer even more flexibility and availability for extended stays, outings, and focused attention. This structure allows me to provide consistent, dependable care and companionship for pets. In our home, pets are treated like family and given a calm, structured, and loving environment with consistent attention, comfort, and supervision. We maintain a clean, safe space with routines that support each animal’s needs, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, rest, and affection tailored to their personality. Because we live in a peaceful, walkable coastal neighborhood near the beach and parks, dogs receive enriching outdoor time and exercise in a safe environment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize respecting their established routines to minimize stress and maintain stability. I follow all instructions closely, ensuring feeding, walking, medication, and comfort needs are met exactly as directed. I also provide calm companionship and regular updates so owners feel fully confident and connected while away. My focus is always on emotional safety, physical well-being, and creating a sense of trust and consistency for every animal in my care.
About: I have a deep love for animals, namely dogs and cats. I've been off work lately but unable to have a full-time pet where I live. I also love exercise; I walk but always prefer to walk a dog. When my friends or relatives leave, I sometimes miss their dog more than them! I live close to Dog Beach but if that's a problem for you dog I have a wonderful neighborhood to walk in! I have a large balcony with astro turf. I am home most of the time and have a very flexible schedule. I'm almost always available to care for your pet. I do not plan on going back to work. I don't have a fenced yard but large balcony with astroturf covering. I live near dog beach, or I have a wonderful neighborhood where lots of people walk their dogs. Dogs & cats welcome in my house. Bringing their bed would be nice, if possible, otherwise, I have blankets, pillows etc.. Would be glad to come to your home as well.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Huntington Beach
Sung was amazing. He was kind enough to work with my schedule for daycare and when there, my pups seemed to settle in enough to eat on the first day (a very rare occurrence and an indication of feeling safe). I’m so grateful and hope to treat him / his family as the go to solution while my husband and I are in HB.

Goose absolutely loved his time with Janice! She was so friendly and professional. She helped us out so much caring for Goose while we were at Channel Islands NP. It was such a relief knowing that Goose was well cared for! We will definitely pick Janice again when we are in the area again.

Abbey was very kind and sweet. She asked all the necessary questions to understand his personality and had all the essentials to make him comfortable. I felt great leaving my pup with her. She kept me updated and even sent me videos. I will definitely rebook with her and would recommend her.

My goldendoodle had the best time with Sandra and her family! My baby is a very shy guy and he thrived in the care of Sandra. He had so much fun and it was really comforting being updated throughout the day with pictures and videos! Will definitely be booking with Sandra again :)

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
