About: I’ve been taking care of animals since i was a young girl, i’ve never had the opportunity to have my own pet but i enjoy taking care my siblings pets like a fun aunt! I’m currently unemployed and i’m looking to help out fellow pet owners with their duties! I’m available anytime of the week, would just need a heads up. I stay with my boyfriend who lives in an apartment downtown HB & we love to take care of animals. We have small patio backyard but love to go for walks!
“Shena is absolutely incredible! She went above and beyond to make sure my boys were well fed, cleaned up after, and played with. She’s truly got a gift for animal caretaking. She will love them and they will love her back more than you could expect and send tons of photos/videos as proof. I cannot recommend Shena enough. If you need anybody to watch your fur babies, do yourself a favor and ask for Shena ❤️”

“So happy to have found Meamea to drop in to care for our kitty (& plants). We had never left our 8-year old kitty for more than a couple of nights & she did fine without a sitter for a brief absence, but we knew we couldn’t leave her uncared for during our 10-day trip. I was quite anxious finding a sitter & read many reviews about so many sitters on Rover & social media. Meamea has great reviews & certainly lived up to them. She kept us informed & sent photos after every visit. Even though our timid kitty came out only twice, I had peace of mind knowing she was fed, given fresh water & treats, her litter cleaned, & Meamea talked to her. Meamea also went above & beyond by caring for my numerous outdoor containers of flowers. We will definitely ask Meamea to care for our kitty again! Thank you for everything!”

“Martha helps me out with drop-in visits when we are out of the house for long periods of time. Martha is trustworthy and I am very comfortable with her having access to my house. Martha is very punctual, communicates well, friendly, takes pride in her work, is thorough in understanding our specific needs, and my dog loved her right away.”

“Amy was awesome! She is very courteous and friendly with my dogs. She asked about instructions on caring for each of my pups for drop in visits. She was flexible in scheduling and modifying requests. My pups were very comfortabe with Amy. Thank you for being caring and loving to my fur babies!”

About: I am very passionate about animals. From a young age I have been around animals. I grew up with 7 dogs (4 Black Labs, 2 Coon Hounds and 1 Dalmatian) and 2 cats for most of my childhood. Currently, I have two cats (Addie and Blue) of my own and a sweet little pup (Roxy). I understand how hard it can be to leave your pet. You want what is best for them and that is why I am here! Your pet will be loved every moment I am with them. Outside of owning many pets throughout my life. I work from home so I have time to love all the animals during the day! They’ll have walks abs potty breaks along the way! We have plenty of space for your dog to come and play. We do have two cats and a dog here so there will be plenty of playing with each other. I can crate your dog or so what is need to make sure you are comfortable while away.

“Dayna is wonderful!! We are so lucky to have found her. We are very particular about who watches our shih tzu so it took a while to find someone we trust. She is sweet, responsive and trustworthy plus her background as a vet tech is a major plus. Thank you for giving us peace of mind when we have to leave our shih tzu!”
About: I’ve owned a dog for my entire life and take care of them when my parents are away. I always step in to dog sit friend’s dogs and love taking them on walks, hanging out with them when family is not home, and playing with them. I am currently a full time DPT student at Simmons University and am currently out in California on a clinical rotation for my program! I am available every weekend and every week night night. Open to overnight weekend care, check ins throughout the day, and walks. I can crate dogs when needed in the home, able to control dogs on walks with other dogs present, very good at calming dogs down when overwhelmed.
“May was WONDERFUL!!! We have two barky chihuahuas & they took to her immediately! We were able to have fun & enjoy our long day away knowing that May would take them on walks & make sure they had dinner. I will definitely book with May if we ever are gone for the day! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Kristin is the absolute best. My cat who can be trepidatious with people is absolutely in love with her. She always goes the extra mile and is always willing to help if travel plans change suddenly. Thank you, Kristin 🙏🏼”

About: I've had animals my entire life. I got my first kitten at age five, and my family always had dogs, cats, fish, chickens, cows, pigs, and horses so I’m comfortable with all types of animals and personalities. I absolutely adore dogs and cats and I’m excited at the chance to get to know and play with yours! I work full-time Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, but mostly remotely, so I'm flexible throughout the week days and I'm fully open on weekends. I'm attentive, patient, and treat every pet with the same love and care I give my own. My biggest concern is making sure your animal is happy and getting everything they may need and want.
“Amanda was amazing, there was an issue that happened with finding our house ( totally our fault not hers) and she was so kind and sweet about it. She took really good care of both of our dogs & we will 100% be booking her in the future. Thanks Amanda!”

“Alexa was amazing and very our shy dog grew very fond of her very quick! She went above and beyond when taking care of our dog. She was very on top giving updating and has great communication. Our dog is looking forward to see her again!”

This was our first time working with Amanda, and we are so happy we found her! Amanda arranged a Meet and Greet right away and she quickly hit it off with Simon and CK, who responded quickly to her warm and kind presence. Blondie, our shy kitty came out from hiding during Amanda's first drop in, and it's been smooth sailing (and lots of Churus) ever since for all three kitties. We loved getting the daily photos of the kitties being spoiled by their new friend, and it's been wonderful to come home to happy, well-fed, and relaxed fur babies. Thank you, Amanda, for your great communication and attention to details, and we look forward to your next series of visits!

Samantha was very professional and thoughtful throughout the entire process. She responded promptly to the booking request and was highly communicative as we set up the meet and greet as well as the drop in visits. Samantha took excellent care of the kitties, who were happy and relaxed around her. We are so glad we connected with Samantha!

Amy went above and beyond for my senior cat. I reached out to her just hours before I had to leave for a last minute trip and she responded immediately. Throughout her care I received tons of pictures and videos. He was so happy and well cared for on my return. Such a great sitter and clearly cares about the pets she takes care of.

Another amazing visit from Natasha! Our cats remembered and greeted her immediately, which is the best feeling ever. She’s a great communicator and leaves the best check-in notes and photos. We’re so lucky she could watch the boys again and trust her completely. Thanks Natasha! ❤️

This was my first time using Rover, and it was hands down the BEST experience I could have asked for, especially with Chris caring for my dog & cat! 🐾 Chris has incredible communication skills and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind :) He is also extremely punctual and reliable, especially when it comes to feeding and walking schedules, which meant everything to me & more. The level of love and care he showed my animals was truly top notch. He followed every instruction perfectly and still found ways to go above and beyond in so many thoughtful ways. For the first time in a very long time, I was actually able to relax and disconnect from “pet mom mode” because I knew my animals were being cared for exactly how I would care for them, if not even better. I also loved the pictures Chris sent, you could genuinely see how much fun my pets were having with him, and somehow he even got my cat to come out and play, which says everything. If you’re thinking about booking with Chris, do it!!! You’ll thank me later & your pets will gain a new best friend 🐾

I've used Martha for about 5 years now. She's taken great care of my fur babies. I used to get "proof of life" pics of my shy, anxious cat, Stella...two glowing eyes under the bed. While my other, people-friendly, cat soaked up all the love. Fast forward a couple years...Now Stella loves on Martha like they're best friends. It's a furry miracle.

Abigail was awesome! We used Rover before and we have always had great dog/cat sitters!!! Abigail took time with our Holly who was grieving the loss of her “ sister”! Who died of cancer! Abigail understood and took extra time with my babygirl Holly! Took her on extra walks too! Sent daily photos of our girls and followed the daily routine!! We are very Abigail and will certainly use her again !!! We couldn’t be happier with care she gave our little girls and our little boy Cat!!!!

Erica was great she took really good care of my cat Sadie. She handled all my cats special needs. it was the first time I was able to go on vacation and not have to worry about my fur baby. I knew she was in good hands. Erica kept me well informed and sent me pictures daily. My cat really likes her I can tell cuz she acted like she was looking for her the first night that i got home right about the time that Erica makes her visits. Also hearing that my cat was following her all over the place tells me that she really liked her. Thank you for your service. Diane Gotti

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Huntington Beach. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
