“Emily was such a gem to work with from start to finish. Our pups thoroughly enjoyed her time and attention, she cared for them and our home as if they were her own. Highly recommend! Will book again!”

“Kelsy was amazing with the dogs! She took them for lots of walks and I could tell they loved her. She was very communicative, on time, and extra caring. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Laura is amazing! We have 2 senior dogs and one that is paralyzed, and she had no hesitation on watching them. She is super nice and responsive with her communication. We’ve always boarded our dogs when we leave so this was new for us, but she made me feel so comfortable leaving them with her. Laura took such amazing care of my pups and we will definitely be requesting her again!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we met, it was clear how much She genuinely care about animals. She took the time to learn our dog’s routine, personality, and little quirks, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Throughout the stay, we received regular updates, photos, and messages, which made it easy to relax knowing our dog was happy, safe, and well cared for. It was obvious our dog was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and love. When we returned, everything was just as we left it, and our dog was calm, content, and clearly well taken care of. It’s such a relief to find someone we trust completely with our pet. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter—and we will definitely be booking with them again!”

“So happy Amyra was able to watch my dogs again, especially over the holidays it’s hard to find a sitter. She was great with communication and sent multiple updates daily! Left the house clean and with the happiest dogs!”

“Abbie was beyond amazing! She was extremely professional, responsive and so kind to our dog Buddy. Leaving our dog is never easy, but with Abbie's excellent communication and sending us photos throughout the stay, made us feel at ease. Highly recommend Abbie!”

“Candace is a great communicator & took great care of our dog and our home! We really appreciate how punctual she is and her attention to details with our dogs meds. Thank you Candace!”

“John is an amazing human and even better dog sitter. Our 70lb bully had emergency spinal surgery 10 days before a planned trip that we could not cancel. Although our doggie required special care-John was more than capable and willing to help. He has genuine care and compassion for his wards and maintains great communication. Made our travel much more stress free-since our guy was in good hands. We sincerely appreciate John time and attention to our recovering boy.”

“Sarah is super communicative and very easygoing, making the whole experience so pleasant for us. We had multiple changes in our plan, and she was very accommodating. I look forward to having her care for our pups in the near future because I know they’ll be in good hands.”

“Sabha was a total professional. The communication was strong from the start. Communicated expectations garnered responsiveness and results. He house sat for us for four days. When we had to extend due to a change in plans, he accommodated. When we returned home, the kitchen had been cleaned and the house had been vacuumed. It was cleaner than when we left. Will absolutely book again. Thanks Sabaha!”

“Super grateful Irene was able to watch my fur king - 2 year old Ragamuffin Tyler 😊 we discussed all essentials prior to my work related trip and she followed up with me, gave me updates and took thorough and thoughtful care of my cat! I would book with her again. You’re in good hands with Irene!”

“Kirsten is a godsend! She handled my 2 needy dogs and 4 cats without any problem! I felt totally relaxed knowing my babies were well taken care of ! I highly recommend her 😊”

About: I’m Caroline, a 30-year-old dog lover with nearly two decades of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I aim to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’m patient, dependable, and detail-oriented, and I adapt easily to each dog’s individual needs. Whether your dog has a simple routine or a more involved one—including exercise, feeding, medications, or other specialized care—I’m happy to follow all instructions exactly as provided. I’m comfortable with walks, exercise, brushing, feeding, cleaning up after pets, reinforcing basic training, and caring for dogs who need extra attention or structure. I understand how much trust it takes to leave both your dog and your home in someone else’s care, and I take that responsibility seriously. Your dog’s well-being is always my top priority. Pet care fits well into my schedule. I currently have a flexible routine and will be starting a graduate program this fall in Counseling Psychology that meets three consecutive days per month. I expect to be able to comfortably balance my studies and pet care within my schedule. I provide care in client homes and follow all instructions carefully to maintain each pet’s normal routine. I pay close attention to feeding, exercise, medications, and any special care requirements to ensure consistency and comfort for the pet. I also treat every home with respect, keeping things clean and tidy during and after each visit.
“Simply put, Stephanie is AMAZING! She agreed to housesit our skittish older pup and even followed up (twice!) when I thought we were booked but it hadn’t actually gone through. She is an excellent communicator and I was able to fully relax on vacation knowing our home and pup were in excellent hands. When we got home, our dog (who can be tough) was happy to see us but it was obvious too that he missed Stephanie ❤️ ❤️”

“Mahaam saved me in a pinch with our new kitty, Mochi. She was communicative, reliable and knowledgeable. A very positive experience and i look forward to working with Mahaam again.”

“It’s always a bit uncomfortable to have a stranger in your home but Jenna was warm and did a terrific job with our fur babies. She was communicative, sent updates and photos and made us feel at ease. We returned after Christmas to a clean home with very happy and well cared for pets. We will definitely use her again if she’s up for it.”

“100% the best! Took care of our two golden’s Sunny and Candy, and we will definitely book with them again. We received consistent updates and pictures. She was supportive in giving medication to Sunny who got a hot spot just a few days before our trip and we were so happy he was in good hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Newport Coast
This was our first experience using Rover, and Jordan was so wonderful to work with! Our girl, Teddi, unexpectedly needed dental surgery shortly before we traveled from Denver to Newport Beach for my brother’s wedding, and I ended up driving her with me so I could continue caring for her while she healed. It was also Teddi’s first vacation staying in a hotel, and we weren’t sure how she would do in the room without us. Since the hotel had us agree not to leave dogs unattended, we didn’t want to chance it and found ourselves looking for help pretty last minute. Needless to say, we were in a bit of a stressed state with all of this going on, especially during a wedding weekend! Jordan was so communicative, flexible, and helpful in figuring out a plan that worked for us. Teddi stayed with her during our evening events while we were still able to handle her morning care ourselves, and Jordan even brought her back to our hotel after the wedding! We felt completely comfortable with Teddi in her care, including keeping up with her nighttime meds, which really allowed us to relax and actually be present for such a special weekend. It was such a blessing that Jordan was available, and it’s clear she has a heart for dogs. We’re so grateful we found her & will absolutely call her the next time we’re visiting Newport with Teddi!

Miranda house sat for our cat for 10 days and she was amazing! She was available last minute when our other sitter cancelled. She was very communicative throughout the stay, sending us numerous photos and videos every day. She also spent a significant amount of time with our cat each day and even watered our plants for us! Wonderful sitter, would highly recommend

Alyssa took wonderful care of my two pups, with periodic updates on their walks, meals and how their day went. Lots of photos too, which put me at ease. She was easy to communicate with, and she set up a meet and greet so the pups could get to know her prior to the sit.

Marketta went above and beyond while we were on vacation for 2 weeks. This is the 2nd time she has watched our pups over night this time being for an extended time. We came home with our dogs being much more relaxed than the first time. We appreciate her patience and traiming to help them with their separation anxiety. I highly recommend her but at the same time dont want to tell you how awesome she is because we want her to be available for our pups who adore her so much! 😉 ☺️💗 We will definitely be booking Marketta again and again! Thank ypu so much 💖

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Newport Coast on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,842 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newport Coast. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newport Coast walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newport Coast maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newport Coast choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newport Coast. On Rover:

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
