“Emma was awesome. She cared for Our Glinda girl and my Angelfish while we were away. All was great and my Glinda was very happy when we came home. Emma updated us daily with video and photos and she even cooked for my pup as well. Thank you for everything, Emma. We’ll see you next time. The Bishop Family.”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was a kid! I love meeting new animals and caring for them. My experience ranges from boarding animals for 7 days, to doing stop-by visits multiple times per day. I not only love animals but I love giving families the peace of mind that their animal is in good hands. I’m a very caring mother and pet owner who is diligent and flexible. Having pets of my own my whole life, I’ve learned how to care for, engage and love all sorts of animals. I’m looking for families that need help either as a one-time getaway or on a regular basis! I’m happy to help. My goal in life is to have time and flexibility to be with my family, and caring for pets allows me that freedom! Looking forward to helping you and your furry friend. I’m currently available to help in any capacity! Feel free to reach out. I am a full-time mom and have an open schedule. I have a large home with plenty of room for your pet! There are grass areas and plenty of shade. My neighborhood has great trails where we can walk dogs. I love all animals and always treat them well! I will be sure to send you updates and photos if requested.
“Lisa is fantastic with our little doggie. She is very attentive and is gentle with her. She sends pictures along with updates throughout the day of how she is doing. I never have to worry when Lisa is watching her!”
“I highly recommend Janet! She watched my home and 4 dogs while we were away for 3 days for my son’s wedding. She is incredibly reliable, professional, and went above and beyond to take care of everything. She will now be my go-to sitter. Thank you Janet!!”

“Kaitlin was wonderful and is a great communicator! She sent us a picture of the dogs while we were gone which we really appreciated! Looking forward to our next booking and will continue to book with her in the future. :)”

“Lillian took excellent care of our dogs! Our dogs were comfortable with Lillian from the start, and she followed our detailed instructions in looking after them. Our house was spotless when we got home, and our dogs seemed happy and relaxed. Lillian was conscientious and responded very quickly to my messages. I felt peace of mind with her caring for my dogs while I was away!”

“Caroline was very attentive to our puppy and helped ease our minds as new dog parents so we could step out and enjoy an evening to ourselves. She kept Aero busy with toy playtime and sent us constant updates which we appreciated. We came home to a happy relaxed puppy which is all we could hope for! Will definitely use Caroline’s sitting services again. Thank you!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for 11+ years, wether it was my own while my family is on vacation, to stopping by family friends houses to walk, feed, and take care of their dogs! I’ve taken care of dogs as young as a couple weeks to as old as 11 years! I’m a licensed hairstylist, so my schedule varies depending on the day, with shifts ranging anywhere from 3–10 hours in the salon. I offer pet care on my days off, which gives me plenty of flexibility and availability to dedicate my full attention to your pets. On those days, I’m typically free throughout the day for walks, playtime, feeding schedules, check-ins, or overnight care, and I always make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you’re away. I always prioritize safety, comfort, and making pets feel at home. I can easily crate your dog if needed, follow any feeding or medication schedules, and provide plenty of attention, walks, and playtime. I also keep a clean, calm environment and will send regular updates and photos so you can feel comfortable while you’re away.
“We can't recommend Kaitlyn enough! She took amazing care of our 9-year-old Ragdoll, who has special needs, and went above and beyond in every way. Not only did she ensure he was well-fed, comfortable, and given his medication on time, but she also showered him with love and attention, keeping him happy while we were away. Our cat had a litter box accident, and without hesitation, Kaitlyn gave him a bath and made sure he was clean, comfortable, and stress-free again—something not every cat sitter would be willing to do! On top of that, she took it upon herself to look after our home, making sure everything was in order. We returned to a clean, well-cared-for space and, most importantly, a content and relaxed cat! She kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us peace of mind throughout our trip. If you're looking for a truly dedicated, compassionate, and reliable pet sitter, Kaitlyn is the one to call!”

About: I’ve always shared a deep bond with animals that has allowed me to build trustworthy relationships with them. I’m a very patient and dedicated individual. I currently am not working, so I’m able to provide all my love and attention into pets! I’m very fortunate to be in this situation and look forward to caring for your pets. I am always careful when opening and closing doors to ensure pets don’t escape. I also have experience in crating dogs for their safety and am comfortable doing so. And I always keep dogs on leash when outdoors in unfenced areas.

“Alisson was such a wonderful pet/house sitter. She was very informative sending updates and photos of the dogs. Our dogs loved her! One of our dogs usually isn’t the most comfortable with strangers but he warmed up to Alisson right away no issues. We completely felt that our home and dogs were in great hands while we were away. We will definitely be repeat customers of Alisson.”

About: A "Dog First" Approach My world revolves around my dog, and I bring that same compassion and respect to yours. I am a firm believer in letting dogs set the pace. Whether it’s going for a long "sniffary" to engage their brain, providing mental enrichment activities, or my favorite—cuddles and telling them they’re the best ever—I make sure your dog feels seen and loved. For The Dogs Who Are Selective I have a natural touch with dogs that are shy or picky about their humans. My neighbor’s Blue Heeler/Husky/Shepherd mix—who is very "iffy" with strangers—is now one of my best buds. I read body language and wait for a dog to approach me on their own terms. If your dog is a "one-person dog" or just prefers a calmer presence, we will get along great. The Puppy-Proof Eye I’ve had my own dog since he was 8 weeks old. I know exactly how quickly a puppy will run off with something they shouldn't have if you look away for two seconds! I bring that same level of hyper-vigilance to your home, ensuring your pup stays safe and out of trouble while you’re away. Your Home is My Office As a fully remote professional, I’m not just stopping by—I’m moving my office to your living room. This means constant companionship for your dog and the peace of mind that your home is occupied and secure. I’m happy to follow any specific house rules or routines to ensure your dog’s day stays as normal as possible. Momo and I have a very consistent schedule. I feed him around 6 am then go back to sleep. 7:30 am we are at the park either meeting up with his friends or on our own and we stay at least 45 min either playing fetch or walking around (likely longer unless I have meetings). After that I come home work for about 30 min, because now we play more fetch in the hallway. Finally I will work for about 5+ hours, then head to the gym, come back and depending on how sleepy he is either take him for another walk or let him nap. Around 5pm its his dinner time and we end up going for a late night walk around 7 pm. Throughout the day there is plenty of playing, chasing and cuddles. Some days we will substitute the park for going on a long walk and I'll let him tell me where we are going. Weekends I try to take him to the Lake for a big walk or to the beach, but I take him out at least 3-4 times a day and its the best part of my day. Caring for a dog is understanding their boundaries and what is best for them. Whether your dog needs to be laying next to me while I work, tucked in for naps, or needs his bed in the only spot in the house where the sun shines so they can bake like a potato, I will accommodate. I'd be happy to send photos of them throughout the day and provide updates whenever needed.
“Rachel is such a lovely person and I know our pets were well loved while we were gone! She was very communicative and left the sweetest letter to my pets after her stay. I can tell she really connected with them and that makes me so happy. She stepped in at the last minute, and took care of everything over the thanksgiving holiday. Did great with our both our cats and our Corgi. A true gem! We will definitely book her again.”

About: Honestly? Dogs are just my people. I have a 3-year-old Golden named Ares, and I'm also hands-on with a family pack of five Goldens, so between the zoomies, the senior slow walks, and everything in between, I've pretty much seen it all. Big dogs, reactive dogs, medication schedules, strict feeding routines, none of that phases me. What I care most about is that you actually feel good leaving. Not just okay with it, genuinely at ease. So I follow your routine to the letter, send real photo updates (not just the posed ones), and I'm always on time. Always. We're lucky to be close to some great spots, the coastal trails in Newport, the paths near Crystal Cove, Heritage Dog Park, and I know how to navigate them safely. I keep a close eye on the environment, especially brush and ticks, because your dog doesn't know what they're getting into but I do. Whether your dog needs a long run or just a calm, quiet visit with someone who actually gets them, I've got it covered. Right now, my daily availability is incredibly flexible. I am currently taking some time between career moves, which means my week is wide open to prioritize your pet's needs. Whether you need a bright and early morning walk, mid-day drop-ins while you are at the office, or evening care, I can easily build my day around your dog's established routine. My own dog, Ares, has his set schedule, leaving the vast majority of my day completely open to step in exactly when you need me. When I am in your home for a drop-in or picking up your dog for a walk, safety and respect for your space are my absolute top priorities. I treat your home with the exact same care I treat my own, ensuring doors, gates, and locks are fully secured before and after every single visit. Out on the trails or sidewalks, I am hyper-vigilant about our surroundings, steering clear of hazardous brush, hot pavement, or unpredictable off-leash dogs. I stick strictly to your instructions and always leave things exactly as I found them.
About: I've cared for pets my entire life and have had both cats and dogs..I have experience with puppies and seniors and currently have three hounds. I'd love to help care for yours as one of my own. I am available on weekends and after 4 pm during the week on Monday through Thursday. I am trustworthy and reliable and look forward to help with the care of your pet. My focus is exceptional, loving care and safekeeping of your fur baby. I am trustworthy and dependable and look forward to meeting you and your pet.
About: I grew up caring for dogs and have two of my own, Ruby and Hazel, who taught me a lot about patience, routine, and understanding different personalities. Because of them, I’m comfortable with everything from daily walks to managing feeding schedules, giving plenty of playtime, and keeping a calm, safe environment. I’m used to working with both puppies and older dogs who may need a little extra support. I pay close attention to each dog’s needs and habits so owners feel confident that their pets are understood and cared for. What sets me apart is the level of communication and care I provide. I always keep owners updated, share photos, and make sure every dog feels comfortable, happy, and loved while you are away. Pet care is already part of my daily routine because I care for my two dogs, Ruby and Hazel. I’m used to morning and evening walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and giving them lots of attention throughout the day. Adding walks or drop-ins fits naturally into my schedule, and I make sure I have enough time set aside so every dog gets proper care without feeling rushed. On a weekly basis, I plan around the pets I’m responsible for, whether that means regular walks, check-ins, or longer stays. I’m consistent, reliable, and comfortable building a routine that keeps each dog happy and supported. When I’m caring for pets in my home, I focus on keeping them comfortable and safe. I follow their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest so they feel at ease. I keep a clean space, monitor them closely, and make sure they get plenty of attention and affection, just like Ruby and Hazel do every day. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I always respect the owner’s rules and the dog’s normal routine. I make sure feeding times, walk schedules, and any training habits stay consistent. I give regular updates, and make sure the dog feels secure in a familiar environment. My goal in both settings is to keep each pet happy, calm, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Laguna Niguel
I’m so happy I found Lisa to watch Rosie the first time I had to leave her. She’s a very experienced pet sitter. I was confident Rosie was in good hands law was gone. Lisa was communicative attentive to the dogs needs including giving medication. I highly recommend Lisa! Thank you 🙏

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 We had an amazing experience with Kyra watching our dog, Cozzie. She went above and beyond throughout the entire stay and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Kyra spent a ton of quality time with Cozzie, giving her lots of love, attention, pets, and care, and it was clear from all the updates and photos that Cozzie was genuinely happy and comfortable with her. We especially appreciated how communicative she was — she sent frequent updates, thoughtful messages, and so many great photos that made us feel connected the whole time. She also took excellent care of our home and left everything clean and well cared for. It’s obvious Kyra truly cares about the animals she watches and treats them like her own. We would absolutely trust her with Cozzie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring sitter!!

Gabriela has taken care of our dog, Blue, a few times now and stayed overnight with him at our house! We highly recommend Gabriela as she takes our dog for multiple walks a day, cares for him, and is very communicative with us during our time away. She sends us updates and photos of our dog while we are gone which is very appreciated.

Thank you so much, Janet! We really appreciated how you rolled with some unexpected plan changes—it made things much less stressful on our end. We also loved receiving a photo update every day, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Thanks again for taking care of everything and for being so communicative throughout.

Brooke was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our pup. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing our dog was in such caring, attentive hands. Brook went above and beyond, not only taking wonderful care of our furry family member but also looking after our home while we were away. We’ll definitely be booking with Brook again soon!

Thank you so very much Jen & Scott!!!! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was very nervous leaving my 16-month-old black lab, Roxie, with people I didn’t know, but this couple completely exceeded every expectation. They treated Roxie like she was their own—taking her everywhere with them, keeping her active, exercised, and happy the entire time we were gone. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she wasn’t just being watched, but truly cared for and included in their daily life. On top of that, they left my home absolutely spotless, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. They are kind, responsible, communicative, and clearly love what they do. I would trust them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet. Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Roxie!

FAQs for House Sitting - Laguna Niguel
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Laguna Niguel on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,008 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Laguna Niguel. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Laguna Niguel walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Laguna Niguel maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laguna Niguel choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
