“We can't recommend Kaitlyn enough! She took amazing care of our 9-year-old Ragdoll, who has special needs, and went above and beyond in every way. Not only did she ensure he was well-fed, comfortable, and given his medication on time, but she also showered him with love and attention, keeping him happy while we were away. Our cat had a litter box accident, and without hesitation, Kaitlyn gave him a bath and made sure he was clean, comfortable, and stress-free again—something not every cat sitter would be willing to do! On top of that, she took it upon herself to look after our home, making sure everything was in order. We returned to a clean, well-cared-for space and, most importantly, a content and relaxed cat! She kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us peace of mind throughout our trip. If you're looking for a truly dedicated, compassionate, and reliable pet sitter, Kaitlyn is the one to call!”

“Yara is fantastic! She was so communicative, sent plenty of photos throughout the day, and we could tell she really understands dogs exceptionally well. We would absolutely love to work with her again and highly recommend to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog while in the Carmel area!”

“The best sitter we’ve ever used! We felt so comfortable with Kristie with our animals. She provided so many pictures and updates and made us feel so comfortable with her. Would highly recommend!”

“Laura was a great substitute for Winston's parents. This time we used her as a house-sitter for our two week vacation. She sent us lots of pictures of our boy, which we appreciated. Winston is an 8 year old golden retriever that we rescued last year. He had a difficult life and we were concerned that he would think he was being given up again. So, having Laura come into his house was the best thing for him. We are glad that Laura is able to fill in for us!”

“Alison was great. We will definitely have her stay with the dogs again. She sent daily updates and has great communication. She understands that some dogs need a little extra love and care. Our dogs were happy when we got home and I know they got extra care.”

“Emma was amazing! We already can’t wait to use her again. My girls are pretty shy but they warmed up so fast with her! She made them feel really comfortable and I can tell made them feel so loved. She sent a lot of updates and even washed the sheets and took out the trash before she left, she went above & beyond! Thank you Emma!”

“Dawn was absolutely AMAZING! She cared for our dogs so effortlessly and stepped in on such late notice, which was a huge blessing for us on our wedding day. Our dogs instantly felt comfortable with her, and that gave us so much peace of mind. She even helped get them ready for our wedding photo shoot, which meant the world to us! She was so pleasant, kind, and truly incredible to work with. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend her to everyone without hesitation! 🐾💛”

“Camille was amazing! She made friends with our dogs so quickly and spent a bunch of time getting to know them. She went above and beyond, sent photos, and gave updates. Would highly recommend her for any dog service!”

“Gustavo was amazing. Great communication, very friendly, flexible, and attentive to our girls. We will definitely be requesting his help again. And the girls loved him. I am pretty sure they would have jumped in the car and gone home with him if given the opportunity.”

“Daniel was awesome with our 5 month old puppy who needs a lot of care and attention. You can tell he’s very comfortable with dogs, and he was responsible and communicative with us during his stay. We came home to a happy, content pup!”

About: I believe my love for dogs is what sets me apart from other dog and home care providers. You know when you are a dog person, and dogs bring me joy, I truly enjoy being with them and caring for them. My schedule is very flexible as I strive to establish myself on Rover as a pet care provider of choice. When do you need care for your furry loved ones? Let me know and I look forward to meeting you needs! I love providing a fun, relaxing and safe environment while you are away. In terms of how I do this, I follow each client's directions for keeping their pets happy and safe.
“Austin was amazing. He stayed with the dogs over the weekend. He sent pics and text periodically. He maintained their routine with walks and lots of running time. I can't tell you how reassured we were having him there. When we got home you would not have even known he was there. Everything was exactly the way we left it. We can't thank him enough. He will definitely be our go to for sure. He has made furever friends with our girls.”

“Tiffany was amazing! She was super communicative throughout the entire stay, sent regular updates and pictures, and followed all of our directions perfectly. Our kitties and North absolutely loved her! We could tell they were in great hands. It’s such a relief knowing we have someone we can fully trust. Highly recommend!”

About: My mom raised me from the beginning about being gentle and empathetic towards animals. She showed me how to care for all types of animals and give them the very best lives we could. I’ve cared and pet sat since i was 12. I got my first full pet sitting gig in my neighborhood for a whole week. Ever since then, I have loved caring for animals and am extremely passionate about giving them the upmost care they deserve. Because they’re family too! I have three cats and a dog myself so I can relate to you on a relatable level! I currently don’t have a day job as I have a chronic illness, and taking care of animals is exactly what i love doing. looking to be around animals and help people who need animal care is my goal. So I have a lot of time on my hands to take care of pets all over the oc area. My schedule is very open and accommodating to all in need of care. Pet care is extremely important to me, I love to take my own dog to the park and let him run and run and run. My cats I actively brush them, clean their ears, litter, etc. I own a double coated dog so I often spend time brushing him in the backyard and tossing a ball back and forth.
“Janet is the absolute best. She always takes great care of our pups & home, and when we had a horrible 8 hour flight delay on our way home she was able to stay longer so we didn't have to worry”

“Lamar was awesome! We went across the country for a week while he stayed in our house and watched our bearded dragon and somewhat fiesty old english sheepdog and he was great! A true professional from the meet and greet through the visit. Great communication, pictures throughput the stay, and we came home to a clean house and healthy happy pets. I highly recommend Lamar for house and pet sitting.”

About: Honestly? Dogs are just my people. I have a 3-year-old Golden named Ares, and I'm also hands-on with a family pack of five Goldens, so between the zoomies, the senior slow walks, and everything in between, I've pretty much seen it all. Big dogs, reactive dogs, medication schedules, strict feeding routines, none of that phases me. What I care most about is that you actually feel good leaving. Not just okay with it, genuinely at ease. So I follow your routine to the letter, send real photo updates (not just the posed ones), and I'm always on time. Always. We're lucky to be close to some great spots, the coastal trails in Newport, the paths near Crystal Cove, Heritage Dog Park, and I know how to navigate them safely. I keep a close eye on the environment, especially brush and ticks, because your dog doesn't know what they're getting into but I do. Whether your dog needs a long run or just a calm, quiet visit with someone who actually gets them, I've got it covered. Right now, my daily availability is incredibly flexible. I am currently taking some time between career moves, which means my week is wide open to prioritize your pet's needs. Whether you need a bright and early morning walk, mid-day drop-ins while you are at the office, or evening care, I can easily build my day around your dog's established routine. My own dog, Ares, has his set schedule, leaving the vast majority of my day completely open to step in exactly when you need me. When I am in your home for a drop-in or picking up your dog for a walk, safety and respect for your space are my absolute top priorities. I treat your home with the exact same care I treat my own, ensuring doors, gates, and locks are fully secured before and after every single visit. Out on the trails or sidewalks, I am hyper-vigilant about our surroundings, steering clear of hazardous brush, hot pavement, or unpredictable off-leash dogs. I stick strictly to your instructions and always leave things exactly as I found them.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ladera Ranch
Camille is my #1 go to for in-home care for our senior dog when we're traveling. She loves him like her own, carefully follows instructions and is very respectful of him, us and our home. And that he absolutely ADORES her, has fun, gets all the love he wants, AND experiences minimal stress and separation anxiety, is exactly what we hope for for him. That her communication is also top notch throughout the experience helps tremendously and provides much peace and comfort for us when traveling. I can't say enough positive things about Camille!

Dawn is the absolute best. She treats my puppy as if she is her own and I can tell she truly cares about her. She is over communicative and always keeps me in the loop. She has been respectful of my home, and goes above and beyond to be tidy. She is very experienced with animals and she is vigilant while my pet is in her care. She often will give me tips and advice based on her own observations, and it has been extremely helpful as a new puppy owner. On top of this, she’s a fantastic photographer and I really enjoy the pictures she takes of my pup! Thank you Dawn!! I couldn’t recommend her enough!

Tiffany was by far the best sitter I’ve had. She is responsible, professional, super kind, an amazing communicator & Human. My pup charlie is definitely shy and has separation anxiety. He won’t go for walks or come in the living room when alone with strangers. Tiffany was able to make him go for walks and he even came and laid next to her! She know how to take care of your fur baby and I’m forever grateful since it was my sisters wedding and I was gone all day! Thank you Tiffany for putting my mind at ease on such an important day & taking care of charlie. She is so kind that your fur baby can tell they are safe. Will for sure rebook with her 🙌🏼🫶🏼

Gustavo was amazing. Great communication, very friendly, flexible, and attentive to our girls. We will definitely be requesting his help again. And the girls loved him. I am pretty sure they would have jumped in the car and gone home with him if given the opportunity.

Jadyn watched my dog Yugi and my pet birds for a week while I was out of the country. I could tell right away that Yugi would be happy spending time with her after the meet and greet! She shared update photos on a regular basis and all went well and I would definitely book with Jadyn again.

Chelsea was wonderful!! Had some last minute changes and she was super flexible. She sent tons of updates and was able to easily handle 3 dogs for the weekend. It is obvious she gave them lots of attention as they were worn out when we get back, would book her again!!

Robert took incredible care of our home and our 4 dogs, 2 cats, turtle, and gecko. The house looked just as we left it and he updated us with photos while we were gone. I felt so comfortable while away which says a lot. I would definitely use Robert again! Highly recommend!

Nikki was absolutely amazing with our dog Otto! From the meet and greet she came over and met him and learned his schedule to a tee! She took him on so many long walks and adventures, and went above and beyond to make sure he had a great time and get a ton of love while we were away! She even sewed one of his toys he had ripped up. You can tell she truly loves animals, and did the best job with our boy, who loves getting a lot of exercise! We felt like he was in the best hands and she kept us updated the entire time with so many pictures and videos, which was so very nice. Nikki is the absolute best!

Thank you to Laura for making sure our Bailey girl was well taken care of! Laura is wonderful! She constantly communicated with messages and photos, which was so greatly appreciated and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Laura was so patient with Bailey, spent a lot of one on one time with her and was really attentive to her needs. Will definitely be calling upon Laura again in the future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Ladera Ranch on Rover is $64.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,299 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ladera Ranch. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ladera Ranch walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ladera Ranch maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ladera Ranch choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ladera Ranch. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
