“Alison did great with our dog Lola! She took her on long walks, sent us pictures throughout the day, and we even came home to a clean house, which was much appreciated! Would definitely recommend Alison to watch over your pets”

About: Being a long term dog owner, I strive to treat other animals like my own. Love, loyalty, respect and a stress free environments are what I strive to create while your pet is in my care. I’m currently working part time, but have plenty of time to care for your pets. Lots of walks, play time, belly rubs and companionship are what I provide. I am available on weekends and weekdays after 2pm. I can also be available for early morning walks as needed. I make sure to follow very closely the routines already in place for your pet. Interacting and keeping your pet safe and comfortable are my top priorities.
“Hoai took exceptional care of my puppy Olive. She truly cares about animals and wants to do an excellent job in providing good service. Hoai has a sweet demeanor and a great work ethic as well!”

“Dawn did a great job watching my greyhound over the holiday week. She made sure to take pictures for his walks and when he was fed and checked in with him regularly. She was really responsive as well and had a great with my dog. Will definitely book again and recommend her as a sitter!!”

About: I am the biggest animal lover at heart. I truly believe that pets are family, and they deserve the same love, patience, and attention as any human. I've always had a deep connection with animals of all kinds, and spending time with them brings me so much joy. I have professional experience working at a dog daycare, where I was responsible for supervising playgroups, feeding, administering medications when needed, cleaning, and making sure every dog was happy, safe, and well cared for. I've worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and energy levels, from playful puppies to sweet senior dogs. I'm comfortable with high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and everything in between. Safety, trust, and keeping pets happy are always my top priorities. My journey on Rover is trying to work for myself and my furry friends because I love the freedom of constructing my own hours and creating a schedule that works for both me and the pets I care for. To me, taking care of animals is not a job - it is a privilege. I don't take that lightly. Every pet in my care will be treated like my own, with endless love, attention, and respect. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, overnight care, or just someone to keep them company while you're away, I will be there to make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy. My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I love being able to create my own hours and work around each pet’s individual routine and needs. I’m available for overnight stays, boarding, walks, drop-ins, and extended daytime care. I’m happy to communicate with you beforehand to make sure your pet’s normal schedule is followed as closely as possible while you’re away. Safety, trust & environment Your pet’s happiness, safety, and comfort are my absolute top priorities! 🐾 I provide care exclusively in the client’s home, which means your pet gets to stay in the place they know and love while keeping their normal routine. I’ll make sure they get plenty of love, attention, playtime, walks, and cuddles while you’re away. I’m also very respectful of your home and will treat it with the same care I give your pets. I’ll follow all of your instructions closely and send you plenty of updates and cute pictures, so you can relax knowing your fur baby is happy, loved, and in great hands! ❤️🐶

“Seph house sat for me while i was gone over christmas. I felt comfortable with him walking my dog who is leash reactive. He sent me a lot of photos and also took care of my gliders.. i would highly recommend”

“Samantha took great care of Jax. I got lots of updates and pictures and confirmations that she was putting in the extra effort for his care. The house was clean and his box was unkept when i got home. He warmed up to her slowly which means she took it at his pace which i greatly appreciate. It means she knows how shy cats can be. Thank you so much and Jax and i Greatly appreciate all the extra efforts. Means so much when I’m away! My old man is almost 19 Now and his care is imprornat to me.”

“Katie watched my pup, Luna, in my home for a few nights. She was great in her communication and sent lots of pictures. Luna was well taken care of and my home was left spotless! Katie even left me some delicious homemade cookies! I would recommend Katie’s services and would use her to care for my pup again in the future.”

“Will was a joy to have in our home taking care of our 110lb Great Pyrenees named Bear! At our initial interview, we knew he would be a good match. He asked good questions. He won us over with his confidence and skill dealing with a very large dog. Bear had a blast in our absence. Will walked him a least 3 times a day, played with him in our fenced yard, and kept Bear on a schedule. Will also took time to work on some of Bear's training exercises and adminstered his monthly meds. I really liked that Will worked from our home, so he spent most of the day with Bear, which is what Bear is accustomed to. We came home to a happy dog and a clean home. We would happily hire Will again.”

About: I grew up in a lively household with 6 dogs and 3 cats, so caring for animals has always been second nature to me. Over the last 15 years, I’ve pet sat for nearly everyone in my life- friends, family, neighbors, you name it. Whether it’s long walks, belly rubs, medication for seniors, or playtime with energetic pups, I bring patience, attentiveness, and genuine love to every animal I care for. This path felt inevitable. So here I am I work a hybrid schedule (in office Monday Wednesday & Thursday)- as such I find I am the best sitter for fellow in office workers or for a long Friday-Sunday weekend trip where I can stay with your pet the whole day. I am big into getting my 10K steps a day so I’d love to have a friend come along with me! Whether it’s a morning walk, a midday play session, or a relaxing evening cuddle, I’m home and available to give your pet the attention they deserve. If there is anyone who likes to take photos of your pet more than you it is me. I LOVE to send updates throughout the day & frequently check in on the fun we’re having. I am a neat freak in my own home & I always strive to leave your home spotless and ready for you to come back!
“Despite my hesitation about leaving Ella, our 15 week old puppy, Donna did a wonderful job house sitting for us. She was a great communicator and kept me updated on Ella’s well being with regular messages and photos. Donna was attentive, well prepared, and kept our home clean. I highly recommend her!”

“Viktoriia was such an amazing pet sitter for us over the holidays. She took great care of our 3 cats and dog while we were away for 6 days. Super reliable, responsive, and sent lots of updates and photos. Most importantly, all our pets loved her and she spent so much quality time with them. We are so lucky to have found her!! Thank you Viktoriia!!”
About: I have been surrounded by dogs of all ages my whole life, and have extensive experience in plenty of different scenarios. I helped train my dog when she was a puppy, I’m responsible for bathing her, feeding her, picking up her poop, walking her, and more - all the responsibilities of owning a pet. I am also the go-to dog sitter for my friends, family, and colleagues, as I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and do a great job at it. I have experience dog sitting for senior dogs, dogs with special accommodations, dogs who need medication, puppies, hyperactive dogs, standoffish dogs, pretty much every dog under the sun. I have no problems with any situation and can handle anything thrown my way! I have a very flexible part-time job where I can pick my hours, so pet care fits anywhere into my weekly routine where I may choose it. I tend to go above and beyond when pet sitting in the sense that I spend most of my time with the animals, so complete attention and pet care won’t be a problem. I could only care for pets in the client’s home, as my own dog stays at my house and is a solo act, but in a client’s home I would care for pets as if they were my own. I would expect to have access to resources I’d need to properly care for the pets, but I could also bring anything of my own if needed. I am determined to create and maintain a comfortable, safe, and loving environment for any pets that I’d be lucky enough to watch over.
“David was absolutely amazing for us! He was able to accommodate us last minute for our wedding, which meant so much during such a busy and special time. From the moment he arrived, he bonded so quickly with all three of our dogs — it was clear they felt comfortable and happy with him right away. He kept us updated throughout the night and sent the sweetest pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. We were able to fully enjoy our wedding without worrying for a second. Huge thumbs up! He was truly awesome, and we are so grateful for him! 🐾💛”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mission Viejo
Hailey saved our butts when not just one, but two Rover sitters fell through on us just days before we were leaving for a 6 day trip. Luckily we found Hailey and she took great care of both our goofy boys throughout our time away. Our boys are both rescues and while they are total cuddlebugs, they can also be challenging on walks so it’s always worrisome when we leave them behind with new sitters. Luckily they got along great with Hailey. I’ll also add that when our AC stopped working halfway through our stay (thanks SoCal heatwave!) Hailey did her best to keep our boys comfortable, cooling their fur down with water, leaving them ice water to drink, and making sure the fan kept them as cooled off as possible in our home. She was also great about keeping us up to date on their status throughout the week which definitely helped calm my worries. 10/10 will reach out to her again in the future!

Rex thoroughly enjoyed his time with Collin. When I got home, I saw Rex looking in the doorway of the room where Collin had stayed. Collin sent pictures and text updates of their activities. Collin was very responsible in taking care of my german shepherd. i was looking for someone who was comfortable with large dogs. However, Collin will be great for your pet of any size.

I had such a wonderful experience with Alison! She took amazing care of Sherlock, especially when he got sick 1 day before me and my family went away. Alison incredibly kind and attentive, made sure he received all his medications, took him on walks, played with him, and gave him lots of love and attention. What we appreciated most was how Alison was able to adjust the time for the first day. She consistently kept us updated about his daily activities and how he was doing. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands. She was also very clean, responsible, and respectful of our home. Off course I recommend Alison if you need someone to take care of your furry family member. Highly recommended! ❤️🐶

Samantha is so great! She always gives great feedback as to what’s happening while I’m out of town. I get lots of pictures and updates of Jax, how he’s doing, if he’s eating, if he’s using the restroom, and all the treats that he gets while I’m away. She always leaves my place clean also. Would highly recommend.

Bianca was GREAT. She was very responsive, showed up on time and sent cute pics of my pups! I just moved back to OC part time and have had SEVERAL sitters cancel on me last minute so was very thankful that Bianca stepped in last minute. We are in a new place and my little pup is a little anxious and he was great with her slept most of the day! Thank you Bianca , she will for sure be our go to sitter in OC!
I recently had Hoai watch my dog for a few hours while I was out for the evening. I use her services regularly because she always takes such great care of my pup and keeps me updated throughout her stay. She’s incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and someone I always feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with. Highly recommend her!

Presley was a fantastic dog sitter. She was highly communicative and managed our finnicky dog well. Our dog fell in love with her immediately and Presley gave her the companionship needed while we were all away. I would highly recommend Presley for house overnites.

Camille is my #1 go to for in-home care for our senior dog when we're traveling. She loves him like her own, carefully follows instructions and is very respectful of him, us and our home. And that he absolutely ADORES her, has fun, gets all the love he wants, AND experiences minimal stress and separation anxiety, is exactly what we hope for for him. That her communication is also top notch throughout the experience helps tremendously and provides much peace and comfort for us when traveling. I can't say enough positive things about Camille!

Tiffany was by far the best sitter I’ve had. She is responsible, professional, super kind, an amazing communicator & Human. My pup charlie is definitely shy and has separation anxiety. He won’t go for walks or come in the living room when alone with strangers. Tiffany was able to make him go for walks and he even came and laid next to her! She know how to take care of your fur baby and I’m forever grateful since it was my sisters wedding and I was gone all day! Thank you Tiffany for putting my mind at ease on such an important day & taking care of charlie. She is so kind that your fur baby can tell they are safe. Will for sure rebook with her 🙌🏼🫶🏼

Gustavo was amazing. Great communication, very friendly, flexible, and attentive to our girls. We will definitely be requesting his help again. And the girls loved him. I am pretty sure they would have jumped in the car and gone home with him if given the opportunity.

We booked Caroline very last minute, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Leaving your dog with someone new can be stressful, but they immediately put our minds at ease with incredible communication and genuine care for Roxie. They sent so many pictures and videos throughout the stay, which meant so much to our family and made us feel completely comfortable knowing Roxie was happy and well cared for. It was obvious from the updates that Roxie was getting lots of attention, love, and great care. We are beyond grateful for how thoughtful, communicative, and caring they were—especially on short notice. If you’re looking for someone dependable who will treat your pet like family and keep you updated every step of the way, we absolutely recommend Caroline We would gladly book with them again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mission Viejo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mission Viejo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mission Viejo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
