About: What sets me apart is the level of care, patience, and attention I give to every pet. For the past five years, I've been a proud dog dad to my corgi, Juju, which has given me firsthand experience with the daily needs, routines, and personalities that make every dog unique. As a teacher, I am naturally patient, responsible, and detail-oriented. I understand the importance of consistency, clear communication, and building trust with both with pets and their owners. Whether it's sticking to feeding schedules, going on walks, providing playtime, or simply offering companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I know how important it is to have peace of mind while you're away, and my goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved in my care. As a teacher currently on summer break, I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. I am available for overnight sitting Sunday through Thursday nights, as well as drop-in visits and dog walks from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to maintain the routine they are already familiar with. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and any other care preferences provided by the owner. During drop-in visits and house sitting, I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are happy and well cared for.
“Words cannot thank Nancy, and how well she took care of our dogs. Luna and Juno can be nervous around new people but they took a liking right away. Nancy is very calm, and great with dogs and was able to extend her time with them as well. She will be our go to sitter for anytime we are away.”

“Alison did great with our dog Lola! She took her on long walks, sent us pictures throughout the day, and we even came home to a clean house, which was much appreciated! Would definitely recommend Alison to watch over your pets”

“Kaitlyn took exceptional care of our special-needs Ragdoll while we were away. Our cat has asthma and requires multiple medications, including a nebulizer, an inhaler, and pills. Kaitlyn went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring he received all his treatments with care and patience. Not only is she extremely reliable and professional, but she also took great care of our home. When our kitty had a litter box accident and needed a bath, she handled it without hesitation—something not every pet sitter would be willing to do! On top of that, she spent more time with him than we even asked, knowing that he doesn’t like to be alone. That extra care and attention meant so much to us. We returned home to a well-cared-for cat and a house that was just as we left it. We highly recommend Kaitlyn to anyone looking for a compassionate, professional, and dependable pet sitter.”

About: My passion for dogs has grown over the span of my entire life. I've had a dog (Cinnamon!) since I was a kid and for the last year have worked at a dog boarding/daycare facility! There, I learned how to properly bathe, take care of, feed, and play with dogs of all sizes and dispositions. I have a love for puppies and patience for senior dogs! I have pretty much nothing going on this summer, so I am free whenever (except Fridays and Saturdays in July)! I only have a couple of short trips in July as well, but other than that, pet care is my #1 priority. I have bathed, fed, played with, and simply looked after my own dog for essentially my entire life since she was a puppy (she's an old lady now). As for clients at work, I took dogs outside for playtime, cuddled with them in their rooms, fed them and looked after their belongings, bathed them, and assisted them with medications.
“Wow! 🤩 thank you soo much Ms Anna! Thank you 🙏🏻 for taking care of Sofie for us. The dog got so attached to you even didnt want to leave tour sight. Good job! Me and my husband are both relieved and pleased that we have somebody so caring and awesome right by our house. We are traveling A LOT for business matters and our monthly schedule is quite drastic. We and Sofie are totally in love with you and will require your services quite often sometimes even dog walks will be a great help! We have tried few other girls from rover in the past but the experience was not even close to what you did. Superb! We will only refer to you from now on. Keep up the good work and God Bless Anna. I cannot even express how happy we and sofie are with you. 🙏🏻”

“Seph was completely amazing and wonderful. He watched my 5 year old GSD for nearly two weeks. His professionalism and knowledge of dogs were comforting from the start. He even went so far as to meet at my house at 5:30am on New Years Day just to ensure he was here to make my Theo comfortable and calm as I left for a trip. Seph updated us daily with pics and news, Theo has a new best friend in Seph. Honestly, can't say enough good things and will be my first choice when I need a dog sitter!!!”

“We had such a great experience with John! He watched our pup for a couple days as we took day trips with family. He was responsive, patient, flexible, and so kind. We would definitely want to book with him again!”

“Kaitlin was wonderful and is a great communicator! She sent us a picture of the dogs while we were gone which we really appreciated! Looking forward to our next booking and will continue to book with her in the future. :)”

“Lisa was everything we wished for in a sitter for our Elsie! Lisa is extremely caring, a great communicator and just did everything to make sure both Elsie and us were happy, no matter how far away from each other we were. We left Elsie for 2 weeks which was the longest we ever left. When we started missing her too much near the end of our trip and let Lisa know, she made sure to send extra photos and updates ? We were looking for a sitter who would be loving and caring towards Elsie, but also respect the routine we have with her, her training and our apartment. We couldn’t have hoped for a better sitter than Lisa! After we returned, Lisa continued to check in to make sure all was well with Elsie. We found our apartment spotless and well looked after, my husband couldn’t even believe that someone had been living in our apartment for the last two weeks.”

“Emma was amazing with our two dogs while we were on vacation. Our dogs instantly loved her, she was incredibly communicative and sent so many updates/photos/videos. We were able to truly relax knowing they were in good hands and will definitely use her again.”

About: I have more than 30 years of experience. I started dog-sitting for friends and family and through private referrals. I have cared for dogs of all ages. I will keep you updated with photos and messages. And for additional peace of mind, I have pet-sitter insurance (certificate available upon request). Doggy socializing (the dog park, Starbucks, restaurant patios, doggy play dates with their friends or your fur baby's other favorite hangout spot) are included during overnight stays with dog parents' permission of course. I work from home which allows me to give your fur babies the love and attention that you would want for them and that they deserve. My aim is to provide next level service and to help lessen the stress of being away from your fur baby. All I need is a place to crash (I don't mind sharing the bed with your dogs), the Wi-Fi password, and your doggos to hang out with. I’ll make sure they’re comfortable, safe, relaxed, doted on and well looked after while you’re away. Rest assured, during overnight bookings, your pets will be the only ones that I take care of. Meaning, I won't book any drop-ins or walks with other clients.

About: Hi! I'm Jon, I'm in my early 40s, and I live with my partner in a condo in Aliso Viejo, CA. (I would be the sole service provider) Until recently, my #1 hobby was spending time with my dog, Mae. I loved taking her out on nature trails and all kinds of adventures (in 2024, I even took Mae on a family road trip all the way up to Seattle and back!). After having her for 9 years in our home, I sadly lost my sweet girl in September 2025; she was about 13 years old and unfortunately had developed several unforeseen medical issues. There were a lot of long days and nights of administering medications and emergency vet visits until I made the hard decision to have her pass in comfort at home. I'm still healing from the loss: since I worked from home, Mae was my shadow all day, every day. I have used Rover for many years, but I'm easing into the other side of being a service provider. I'm not ready to get a new dog just yet, but I have a lot of love to give and I'm ready to care for your fur baby on a part-time basis. I'm currently job hunting, so my availability is close to 100% at the moment: I can sit in your home, do drop-in visits, or have your dog(s) stay with me. My condo is completely safe for dogs, my neighborhood is quiet and safe, and there are some great walking routes as well as a dog park nearby. I look forward to hearing from you! I'm currently job hunting, but have been working remotely for the past 13 years. Whatever new job I land will either be Remote or Hybrid. Weekdays are best, though I can occasionally care for your dog(s) on weekends as well. With my own dog Mae, I was feeding her twice a day, taking her on 5-6 small walks a day, and making sure her brain was stimulated throughout my work day. In my home: I live in a two-story condo with a loft. Most of the square footage is on the second floor, with a 13-step staircase from the ground floor. For older dogs or those with any hip or joint issues, I have no problem carrying them up or down the stairs. The majority of the main floor has either carpet or large, thick area rugs; the rest of the flooring is wood laminate. I have no problem letting dogs up on furniture or the bed as long as they're fairly clean (especially paws). Your dog will have full access to fresh, cold, filtered water as well as fans/air conditioning, toys and brain enrichment puzzles. I will follow your instructions on what, if any, treats they are allowed to have (and how many). In your home: you make the rules and I will follow them to the letter! I will treat your home and personal property with respect. If I have a question (and I will probably think of lots of them), I will ask you instead of assuming what the answer is. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I have my own car, and I'd love nothing more than to stay home with your dog(s) all day.
“Maya is an animal whisperer! Our shy cat immediately wanted attention and our dog looked so cozy in all the pics. We got lots of pictures and updates and our home was left nice and tidy. Highly recommend Maya!!!”

About: I have taken care of animals since I was a kid! I love meeting new animals and caring for them. My experience ranges from boarding animals for 7 days, to doing stop-by visits multiple times per day. I not only love animals but I love giving families the peace of mind that their animal is in good hands. I’m a very caring mother and pet owner who is diligent and flexible. Having pets of my own my whole life, I’ve learned how to care for, engage and love all sorts of animals. I’m looking for families that need help either as a one-time getaway or on a regular basis! I’m happy to help. My goal in life is to have time and flexibility to be with my family, and caring for pets allows me that freedom! Looking forward to helping you and your furry friend. I’m currently available to help in any capacity! Feel free to reach out. I am a full-time mom and have an open schedule. I have a large home with plenty of room for your pet! There are grass areas and plenty of shade. My neighborhood has great trails where we can walk dogs. I love all animals and always treat them well! I will be sure to send you updates and photos if requested.

About: Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life! I have personal and professional experience with dogs, cats, birds, small animals, and reptiles. As a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in animal science, I have extensive knowledge in pet care and animal enrichment. I am currently working remotely, so I have plenty of time in the day to entertain and care for your pet/pets if I were to be house sitting. Alternatively, I have plenty of availability for drop in visits or walks as needed. For house sitting, I would carry on your pet's schedule as if you were home. Walks, food, and any other hygiene or health care routines would be carried out as usual. I am also capable of maintaining home care routines and chores as well, garbage, watering plants, etc.
About: I have had dogs my entire life, and from a young age I have been responsible for their care. I have been dog-sitting for neighbors and friends since I was a little kid. I am most experienced with large and small dog breeds. I currently have a 6-year-old Great Pyrenees named Bowie who loves all dogs and people, and a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Wiener dog mix named Lola who also loves all dogs and people. I also have a 12-year-old Indian Ringneck parrot named Cloudy. Cloudy is kept away from dogs when out of the cage for his safety. I am also experienced with small to medium-sized birds and can pet-sit for them as well. I trained both of my dogs myself, and they are very well behaved. I can care for dogs with all sorts of needs or special care; I follow instructions to a T, and all pets are treated like family in my home. I work part-time, and while my work schedule is not regular, my pet schedule does not change. I wake up at 8:30 every morning, and the first thing I do is walk and feed my dogs and my bird. If I am not home, my mom, who is just as experienced with pets as I am, will be home, and she will walk our dogs. I feed my dogs between 4:30 and 5. I try my best to have a walking schedule of every 2-3 hours. This usually looks like an 8:30 am walk, 11:30 am walk, 2:30 pm walk, 5:30 pm walk, and our last walk is usually at 8:30 pm. At 8:30 pm, depending on the dogs' mood, I will either let them go to the bathroom in the yard or take them for a walk if they have some energy left. My schedule is always open to change given your dogs' needs. All my pets get 24/7 snuggles, but I am more than capable of giving a dog their space if they just like to co-exist. My dogs are given kibble and a mix of Greek yogurt, cooked turkey, and green beans as their topper. Lola struggles with her weight, so we do usually put food up after about 30 minutes to prevent her from eating our other dogs' unfinished food. Bowie has a lot of allergies, so we usually stick to turkey, salmon, and duck-based foods for his sensitive tummy. Bowie has lots of hair, so in the evenings I usually like to brush him while I watch TV, so I am more than happy to brush your dog if that is something they are interested in. Our home is two stories, and we keep my bird Cloudy upstairs, so if there are any issues between your pet and my bird, it is not a problem if we have to keep them separated. Our backyard is more of a cement patio. We have a patch of turf for them to potty, and we have a really high fence with no gaps, so don't fret if your pet is an escape artist; I am readily equipped! Lola used to be a runner before she got chunky, so I am also experienced in safely handling dogs that like to try and slip out the front door. I do walk our dogs on non-retractable leads as I find that it instills the best walking manners. When I walk my dogs, it is usually just around my neighborhood, which is about a 15-minute loop, but I also have excellent walking trails outside my neighborhood that I can walk the dogs on if your dog would like some extra long walk and sniff time. Lastly, we do not crate our dogs, but if your dog needs to be crated, we can accommodate that. Every situation is unique, and every dog has their own needs, and I will handle them with the utmost compassion and understanding.
“Janet was great with our pup! She is professional, communicative, and kind. We feel very comfortable leaving our pup and home under her care. We are looking forward to working with Janet again!”

“I cannot say enough nice things about our experience with Silvia. My dog absolutely loves her and she did a wonderful job dog sitting and house sitting while we were away. I highly recommend her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Aliso Viejo
Samantha was amazing. She helped with dog training and kept in constant communication with us throughout our time away. She walked our doggo 2x a day and gave her special treats. I would highly recommend her, and we will definitely be asking her to help dog sit again.
This was our first time using Rover as our regular sitters were unavailable. I am so impressed with Alison and cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She came to meet me and the dogs a week before our trip, and I could tell right away she was responsible, knowledgeable and loving. She was extremely communicative before and during our stay, she sent daily updates and photos and quickly won over our shy little rescue, which was such a pleasant surprise. I will absolutely rebook with Alison and I’m so grateful for her care.

I’m so happy I found Lisa to watch Rosie the first time I had to leave her. She’s a very experienced pet sitter. I was confident Rosie was in good hands law was gone. Lisa was communicative attentive to the dogs needs including giving medication. I highly recommend Lisa! Thank you 🙏

Jen has been WONDERFUL with our dog and cat! She always sends us picture updates so that we know that our animals are happy and safe. Jen was always flexible with our weird schedules (my husband and I both work nightshift). We hope Jen can watch our dog and cat again in the future and would recommend her to anyone looking for a very caring pet sitter!

Thank you so very much Jen & Scott!!!! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was very nervous leaving my 16-month-old black lab, Roxie, with people I didn’t know, but this couple completely exceeded every expectation. They treated Roxie like she was their own—taking her everywhere with them, keeping her active, exercised, and happy the entire time we were gone. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she wasn’t just being watched, but truly cared for and included in their daily life. On top of that, they left my home absolutely spotless, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. They are kind, responsible, communicative, and clearly love what they do. I would trust them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet. Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Roxie!

She did an amazing job watching my pup and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand, followed all of his care notes closely, and made sure he got plenty of exercise and ball time, which is so important for a high-energy working dog like him. Mason can be anxious, but she clearly has a deep understanding of dogs and knew exactly how to handle his needs and routines. This was the first time I’ve felt genuinely comfortable leaving him for more than just a quick overnight stay, and it gave me huge peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands.

Elizabeth was an amazing house sitter for our four huskies. She took great care of our dogs and kept us updated the entire time with thorough updates while we were traveling internationally. I am very grateful for the care my dogs received from Elizabeth and would definitely recommend her!

FAQs for House Sitting - Aliso Viejo
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Aliso Viejo on Rover is $67.16 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,596 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aliso Viejo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aliso Viejo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aliso Viejo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aliso Viejo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
