Alisson was such a wonderful pet/house sitter. She was very informative sending updates and photos of the dogs. Our dogs loved her! One of our dogs usually isn’t the most comfortable with strangers but he warmed up to Alisson right away no issues. We completely felt that our home and dogs were in great hands while we were away. We will definitely be repeat customers of Alisson.

Emma was amazing! We already can’t wait to use her again. My girls are pretty shy but they warmed up so fast with her! She made them feel really comfortable and I can tell made them feel so loved. She sent a lot of updates and even washed the sheets and took out the trash before she left, she went above & beyond! Thank you Emma!

Hailey did a wonderful job with our two dogs! She managed them very well and took care of them like they were her own :) She sent daily updates and photos, kept our home in good condition, and she took our dogs for walks. She is very responsive and responsible. We would definitely ask Hailey to dog sit our pets again!

About: I have more than 30 years of experience. I started dog-sitting for friends and family and through private referrals. I have cared for dogs of all ages. I will keep you updated with photos and messages. And for additional peace of mind, I have pet-sitter insurance (certificate available upon request). Doggy socializing (the dog park, Starbucks, restaurant patios, doggy play dates with their friends or your fur baby's other favorite hangout spot) are included during overnight stays with dog parents' permission of course. I work from home which allows me to give your fur babies the love and attention that you would want for them and that they deserve. My aim is to provide next level service and to help lessen the stress of being away from your fur baby. All I need is a place to crash (I don't mind sharing the bed with your dogs), the Wi-Fi password, and your doggos to hang out with. I’ll make sure they’re comfortable, safe, relaxed, doted on and well looked after while you’re away. Rest assured, during overnight bookings, your pets will be the only ones that I take care of. Meaning, I won't book any drop-ins or walks with other clients.

We can't recommend Kaitlyn enough! She took amazing care of our 9-year-old Ragdoll, who has special needs, and went above and beyond in every way. Not only did she ensure he was well-fed, comfortable, and given his medication on time, but she also showered him with love and attention, keeping him happy while we were away. Our cat had a litter box accident, and without hesitation, Kaitlyn gave him a bath and made sure he was clean, comfortable, and stress-free again—something not every cat sitter would be willing to do! On top of that, she took it upon herself to look after our home, making sure everything was in order. We returned to a clean, well-cared-for space and, most importantly, a content and relaxed cat! She kept us updated with messages and photos, giving us peace of mind throughout our trip. If you're looking for a truly dedicated, compassionate, and reliable pet sitter, Kaitlyn is the one to call!

Very thoughtful. She was very respectful of our home and left it very clean, which was very nice to return to after a long trip. About: A "Dog First" Approach My world revolves around my dog, and I bring that same compassion and respect to yours. I am a firm believer in letting dogs set the pace. Whether it’s going for a long "sniffary" to engage their brain, providing mental enrichment activities, or my favorite—cuddles and telling them they’re the best ever—I make sure your dog feels seen and loved. For The Dogs Who Are Selective I have a natural touch with dogs that are shy or picky about their humans. My neighbor’s Blue Heeler/Husky/Shepherd mix—who is very "iffy" with strangers—is now one of my best buds. I read body language and wait for a dog to approach me on their own terms. If your dog is a "one-person dog" or just prefers a calmer presence, we will get along great. The Puppy-Proof Eye I’ve had my own dog since he was 8 weeks old. I know exactly how quickly a puppy will run off with something they shouldn't have if you look away for two seconds! I bring that same level of hyper-vigilance to your home, ensuring your pup stays safe and out of trouble while you’re away. Your Home is My Office As a fully remote professional, I’m not just stopping by—I’m moving my office to your living room. This means constant companionship for your dog and the peace of mind that your home is occupied and secure. I’m happy to follow any specific house rules or routines to ensure your dog’s day stays as normal as possible. Momo and I have a very consistent schedule. I feed him around 6 am then go back to sleep. 7:30 am we are at the park either meeting up with his friends or on our own and we stay at least 45 min either playing fetch or walking around (likely longer unless I have meetings). After that I come home work for about 30 min, because now we play more fetch in the hallway. Finally I will work for about 5+ hours, then head to the gym, come back and depending on how sleepy he is either take him for another walk or let him nap. Around 5pm its his dinner time and we end up going for a late night walk around 7 pm. Throughout the day there is plenty of playing, chasing and cuddles. Some days we will substitute the park for going on a long walk and I'll let him tell me where we are going. Weekends I try to take him to the Lake for a big walk or to the beach, but I take him out at least 3-4 times a day and its the best part of my day. Caring for a dog is understanding their boundaries and what is best for them. Whether your dog needs to be laying next to me while I work, tucked in for naps, or needs his bed in the only spot in the house where the sun shines so they can bake like a potato, I will accommodate. I'd be happy to send photos of them throughout the day and provide updates whenever needed.

Dawn was absolutely AMAZING! She cared for our dogs so effortlessly and stepped in on such late notice, which was a huge blessing for us on our wedding day. Our dogs instantly felt comfortable with her, and that gave us so much peace of mind. She even helped get them ready for our wedding photo shoot, which meant the world to us! She was so pleasant, kind, and truly incredible to work with. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend her to everyone without hesitation! 🐾💛

About: I have had dogs my entire life, and from a young age I have been responsible for their care. I have been dog-sitting for neighbors and friends since I was a little kid. I am most experienced with large and small dog breeds. I currently have a 6-year-old Great Pyrenees named Bowie who loves all dogs and people, and a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Wiener dog mix named Lola who also loves all dogs and people. I also have a 12-year-old Indian Ringneck parrot named Cloudy. Cloudy is kept away from dogs when out of the cage for his safety. I am also experienced with small to medium-sized birds and can pet-sit for them as well. I trained both of my dogs myself, and they are very well behaved. I can care for dogs with all sorts of needs or special care; I follow instructions to a T, and all pets are treated like family in my home. I work part-time, and while my work schedule is not regular, my pet schedule does not change. I wake up at 8:30 every morning, and the first thing I do is walk and feed my dogs and my bird. If I am not home, my mom, who is just as experienced with pets as I am, will be home, and she will walk our dogs. I feed my dogs between 4:30 and 5. I try my best to have a walking schedule of every 2-3 hours. This usually looks like an 8:30 am walk, 11:30 am walk, 2:30 pm walk, 5:30 pm walk, and our last walk is usually at 8:30 pm. At 8:30 pm, depending on the dogs' mood, I will either let them go to the bathroom in the yard or take them for a walk if they have some energy left. My schedule is always open to change given your dogs' needs. All my pets get 24/7 snuggles, but I am more than capable of giving a dog their space if they just like to co-exist. My dogs are given kibble and a mix of Greek yogurt, cooked turkey, and green beans as their topper. Lola struggles with her weight, so we do usually put food up after about 30 minutes to prevent her from eating our other dogs' unfinished food. Bowie has a lot of allergies, so we usually stick to turkey, salmon, and duck-based foods for his sensitive tummy. Bowie has lots of hair, so in the evenings I usually like to brush him while I watch TV, so I am more than happy to brush your dog if that is something they are interested in. Our home is two stories, and we keep my bird Cloudy upstairs, so if there are any issues between your pet and my bird, it is not a problem if we have to keep them separated. Our backyard is more of a cement patio. We have a patch of turf for them to potty, and we have a really high fence with no gaps, so don't fret if your pet is an escape artist; I am readily equipped! Lola used to be a runner before she got chunky, so I am also experienced in safely handling dogs that like to try and slip out the front door. I do walk our dogs on non-retractable leads as I find that it instills the best walking manners. When I walk my dogs, it is usually just around my neighborhood, which is about a 15-minute loop, but I also have excellent walking trails outside my neighborhood that I can walk the dogs on if your dog would like some extra long walk and sniff time. Lastly, we do not crate our dogs, but if your dog needs to be crated, we can accommodate that. Every situation is unique, and every dog has their own needs, and I will handle them with the utmost compassion and understanding.

I highly recommend Alison to care for a family's pets. My wife, children and I were taking a vacation, and we were very concerned about entrusting our pet's safety and care with a stranger. A couple of weeks prior to our departure, we met with Alison for the first time. I immediately felt that Alison would provide great care for our three dogs who range from 35 lbs. to a 115 lbs. German Shepherd. A few days prior to our departure, Alison contacted us to confirm our departure time. On the morning of our departure, Alison arrived at our home promptly and we reviewed the dog's care and feeding schedule. Our departure went very smoothly. During our trip, Alison sent us daily texts, pictures and videos of our happy, well cared for dogs confirming Alison's great care for our dog's and our home. I strongly recommend Alison to care for your pets and your home.

Nancy was great, and just who Glory needed. I had to go out of town over the 4th of July weekend, and I hadn't used the app before (or left my dog with someone she didn't know); naturally I was a little anxious for both of them during fireworks, but Nancy sent a video of my dog SLEEPING through the noise. Glory usually paces all night during the 4th, so she had some calming magic that did wonders. I was able to enjoy my trip with no worries in the end. Nancy sent me several updates in my absence assuring me that Glory had been walked and fed, and was doing well. Communication on all things leading up to the booking, as well as through, couldn't have been easier or better. Nancy is also wonderful in the housesitting aspect as well, everything was as I left it (if not a little cleaner in some regards!). If you need someone who has a calming and patient presence for your pet, or you have any hesitance with someone in your home, I highly recommend Nancy.

Thank you so very much Jen & Scott!!!! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I was very nervous leaving my 16-month-old black lab, Roxie, with people I didn’t know, but this couple completely exceeded every expectation. They treated Roxie like she was their own—taking her everywhere with them, keeping her active, exercised, and happy the entire time we were gone. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she wasn’t just being watched, but truly cared for and included in their daily life. On top of that, they left my home absolutely spotless, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. They are kind, responsible, communicative, and clearly love what they do. I would trust them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pet. Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Roxie!

She did an amazing job watching my pup and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She took the time to do a meet and greet beforehand, followed all of his care notes closely, and made sure he got plenty of exercise and ball time, which is so important for a high-energy working dog like him. Mason can be anxious, but she clearly has a deep understanding of dogs and knew exactly how to handle his needs and routines. This was the first time I’ve felt genuinely comfortable leaving him for more than just a quick overnight stay, and it gave me huge peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Aliso Viejo on Rover is $67.16 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,596 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Aliso Viejo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aliso Viejo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aliso Viejo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aliso Viejo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
