I highly recommend Alison to care for a family's pets. My wife, children and I were taking a vacation, and we were very concerned about entrusting our pet's safety and care with a stranger. A couple of weeks prior to our departure, we met with Alison for the first time. I immediately felt that Alison would provide great care for our three dogs who range from 35 lbs. to a 115 lbs. German Shepherd. A few days prior to our departure, Alison contacted us to confirm our departure time. On the morning of our departure, Alison arrived at our home promptly and we reviewed the dog's care and feeding schedule. Our departure went very smoothly. During our trip, Alison sent us daily texts, pictures and videos of our happy, well cared for dogs confirming Alison's great care for our dog's and our home. I strongly recommend Alison to care for your pets and your home.

About: Hello! My name is Chanel and I’ve always loved animals!! I have grown up with dogs and cats my entire life and also ride horses in my free time. I have rode for 22 years so I am also able to help out with horses! Since I could speak I wanted to work in the Veterinary world and that’s exactly what I did being a Vet Tech for 3 years! I have also worked for major pet food companies and a doggie daycare! My experience with animals is vast and I can help in any and all areas! Working part time allows me the flexibility to provide pet care in my free time. I am available weekends, Monday mornings, Tuesday’s all day, Wednesday/Thursday evenings after 6:00 and Fridays all day. Some days I work from home as well which gives me the opportunity to help out pet parents! I am extremely organized and cleanly. I am able to handle all sized dogs and have experience with large dog breeds as my job was to assist a Veterinarian with handling!

About: I've had dogs in my life since I was a kid, so I know the difference between a dog that's "fine" and a dog that's genuinely happy, exercised, and relaxed. These days I share my home with my own pets and a fully fenced yard. For walks, I focus on pace and sniff time your dog wants. For drop-ins, I treat your home like I'd want mine treated: doors locked, routines followed, and your dog getting real attention. I'll send photo updates so you know your pup is in good hands, and I'm happy to do a free meet & greet first to make sure it's a good fit for everyone. I work remote from home, which means I'm around and available after 3pm on weekdays and open most weekends. So I can reliably fit in walks and drop-in visits without rushing, pet care isn't squeezed between other things, it's part of an already flexible routine. I follow your dog's routine — feeding times, walk length and pace, and any house rules you've set. At the first meet & greet, I walk through where supplies are, exit routes, and any quirks, so there's no guessing on visit day. Each visit, I check food and water, spend real one-on-one time, and make sure your home is secured exactly as I found it. Doors locked, gates closed. You'll get photo updates so you can see your dog is settled and happy. At home, I've spent years keeping a routine built around a fenced yard and multiple pets, so I bring that same consistency into your home too. With cats, I follow your routine. Feeding schedule, litter habits, and any medication or quirks you've told me about. At the meet & greet, I let your cat approach me on their terms and make note of favorite hiding spots, so I'm not a stressful stranger on visit day. Each visit, I check food, water, and litter, and spend time with your cat if they're up for it. No forcing interaction if they'd rather keep their distance. I leave your home exactly as I found it, and send photo updates so you know things are calm and on track. After 11 years with my own cat, I know that good care often means reading the room more than doing a checklist.

About: I have more than 30 years of experience. I started dog-sitting for friends and family and through private referrals. I have cared for dogs of all ages. I will keep you updated with photos and messages. And for additional peace of mind, I have pet-sitter insurance (certificate available upon request). Doggy socializing (the dog park, Starbucks, restaurant patios, doggy play dates with their friends or your fur baby's other favorite hangout spot) are included during overnight stays with dog parents' permission of course. I work from home which allows me to give your fur babies the love and attention that you would want for them and that they deserve. My aim is to provide next level service and to help lessen the stress of being away from your fur baby. All I need is a place to crash (I don't mind sharing the bed with your dogs), the Wi-Fi password, and your doggos to hang out with. I’ll make sure they’re comfortable, safe, relaxed, doted on and well looked after while you’re away. Rest assured, during overnight bookings, your pets will be the only ones that I take care of. Meaning, I won't book any drop-ins or walks with other clients.

About: Hi, I'm Evan! With nearly a decade of pet care experience and boundless enthusiasm for animals, I'm your go-to walker and sitter. After graduating college, I found joy in providing reliable and considerate care for pets of all sizes and personalities. I recently reached a milestone of 1500 five-star reviews on a popular dog walking app! It's hard to find someone trustworthy who can understand your fur baby's unique needs. Rest assured, your pet's wellbeing is safe with me! I'm known to keep tails wagging! 😁 As a full time provider, I'm very fortunate to able to fill my weekdays with walks and sittings. My weekend availability is more limited, but still feel free to ask! When I care for pets in clients' homes, I prefer having lots of information. Please tell me everything there is to know about your fur baby, so that I can help them be most comfortable. Such as... -their daily food and sleep schedule -toys and treats -favorite rituals -training commands and walking etiquette -any triggers or off-limits areas

Camille is my #1 go to for in-home care for our senior dog when we're traveling. She loves him like her own, carefully follows instructions and is very respectful of him, us and our home. And that he absolutely ADORES her, has fun, gets all the love he wants, AND experiences minimal stress and separation anxiety, is exactly what we hope for for him. That her communication is also top notch throughout the experience helps tremendously and provides much peace and comfort for us when traveling. I can't say enough positive things about Camille!

Nancy was great, and just who Glory needed. I had to go out of town over the 4th of July weekend, and I hadn't used the app before (or left my dog with someone she didn't know); naturally I was a little anxious for both of them during fireworks, but Nancy sent a video of my dog SLEEPING through the noise. Glory usually paces all night during the 4th, so she had some calming magic that did wonders. I was able to enjoy my trip with no worries in the end. Nancy sent me several updates in my absence assuring me that Glory had been walked and fed, and was doing well. Communication on all things leading up to the booking, as well as through, couldn't have been easier or better. Nancy is also wonderful in the housesitting aspect as well, everything was as I left it (if not a little cleaner in some regards!). If you need someone who has a calming and patient presence for your pet, or you have any hesitance with someone in your home, I highly recommend Nancy.

FAQs for House Sitting - Laguna Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Laguna Hills on Rover is $52.17 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,861 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Laguna Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Laguna Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Laguna Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laguna Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Laguna Hills. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
