“Kaitlyn took exceptional care of our special-needs Ragdoll while we were away. Our cat has asthma and requires multiple medications, including a nebulizer, an inhaler, and pills. Kaitlyn went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring he received all his treatments with care and patience. Not only is she extremely reliable and professional, but she also took great care of our home. When our kitty had a litter box accident and needed a bath, she handled it without hesitation—something not every pet sitter would be willing to do! On top of that, she spent more time with him than we even asked, knowing that he doesn’t like to be alone. That extra care and attention meant so much to us. We returned home to a well-cared-for cat and a house that was just as we left it. We highly recommend Kaitlyn to anyone looking for a compassionate, professional, and dependable pet sitter.”

“We had Vanessa stay at our house for the weekend and watch our pup and she was great! She sent lots of photos and video updates and it was great knowing our pup was in good hands. We will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Julia was amazing. Great communication and my Dog Harley loved her. Great experience and would highly recommend her. Will definitely use Julia again it was great she had experience working at a veterinary clinic. 5 out of 5 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ rating”

“Stella did a great job. Harley was walked 2-3 x a day. He really was Happy to see her when the key was dropped off. The house was left spotless. We would definitely use Stella again to watch Harley and our house.”

“David was truly awesome. I think our pets wish he was still there and we didn’t come back! He was very attentive and took such great care of them. He was also super communicative and sent pictures and an update every day. He was even flexible when our travel got messed up. I highly recommend him. He kept our pets and our house cared for and attended to. He is very thoughtful as well. Couldn’t ask for more.”

About: Call to discuss options. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 10 years. Neighbors and friends have relied on us often. I know how to connect with dogs immediately. I work from home so I’m fairly flexible. My responsible and loving kids are eager to help out as well when needed. We love the company of pets. If caring for the pets in your home I will spend time connecting then playing with them. In our home they will have access to the entire downstairs and back yard.
“Laura was a great substitute for Winston's parents. This time we used her as a house-sitter for our two week vacation. She sent us lots of pictures of our boy, which we appreciated. Winston is an 8 year old golden retriever that we rescued last year. He had a difficult life and we were concerned that he would think he was being given up again. So, having Laura come into his house was the best thing for him. We are glad that Laura is able to fill in for us!”
“Kristie was outstanding. She and Tigger hit it off great. Kristie kept us informed as to how he was doing, sent some great photos and was the perfect choice for our dog-sitting needs. We would highly recommend her to anyone that wants peace of mind while they travel and have their loved one cared for.”

“Tiffany was very responsive. Very friendly and comfortable with our 65lbs dog. Went on an hour walk morning and afternoon and seemed to genuinely enjoy our dog. She’s now on our short list of go-to dog sitters. Thank you Tiffany!”

“Shahla is THE BEST! She watched our dogs for the long Thanksgiving holiday and became their new best friend! She sent us photo and video updates throughout the day, everyday. She always reassured us that they were happy and safe. This was our first time using Rover and I feel so blessed to have found Shahla. Please do not hesitate to have her watch your house and pets while you are away. She will not disappoint! Thank you, Shahla! xoxo, Hank and JJ”

“Donna and Mike were the answer to our prayers for our senior Chihuahua Capri. They were both loving and kind while watching her and sent updates each day, sometimes multiple times a day! Our Capri has health challenges and requires medicine throughout the day as well as help with feeding and mobility since she has a hard time seeing with cataracts. They were wonderful from drop-off to pick-up and gave Capri lots of reassurance and cuddle time. We would highly recommend using them as sitters for your fur babies. We will definitely book them again!”

“Samantha took great care of Jax. I got lots of updates and pictures and confirmations that she was putting in the extra effort for his care. The house was clean and his box was unkept when i got home. He warmed up to her slowly which means she took it at his pace which i greatly appreciate. It means she knows how shy cats can be. Thank you so much and Jax and i Greatly appreciate all the extra efforts. Means so much when I’m away! My old man is almost 19 Now and his care is imprornat to me.”

“Janet was great with our pup! She is professional, communicative, and kind. We feel very comfortable leaving our pup and home under her care. We are looking forward to working with Janet again!”

“Seph was fabulous, Bailey reacted favorably to him right away and he was very flexible with our needs. He communicated throughout the 2 days I was gone and gave me peace of mind she was in good hands! Would def use him again.”

“We are always anxious about leaving our spoiled kitties and have often passed up travel opportunities But now we have met Erika!! She did an excellent job housesitting and providing safe companionship for our fluffy babies. They both took to her immediately (this is not usually the case!). Thanks to Erika for a great weekend!!”

“Hoai is very thorough and takes the time to get to know your pets and their routine. She takes copious notes and sends many follow-up messages and photos. She has a deep love for animals and treats them as if they are her own. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Coto De Caza
We have trusted Vanessa with our three dogs for the past six months, including one with special medical needs. She is reliable, caring, and always goes above and beyond to ensure they are happy, and well cared for. Our dogs absolutely love her, and we have complete peace of mind whenever they are in her care. We have recently added our Grand dog. Vanessa has managed to handle all four with no problem. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate Rover.

Jadyn watched my dog Yugi and my pet birds for a week while I was out of the country. I could tell right away that Yugi would be happy spending time with her after the meet and greet! She shared update photos on a regular basis and all went well and I would definitely book with Jadyn again.

We had an amazing experience with Kristie as our dog sitter. She is wonderful with our dog, and he absolutely loves her! We trust her completely, which gives us so much peace of mind. She even accommodated a last minute request for us and was so respectful of our home. We are incredibly grateful to have found her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.” 🐾

Michael was fantastic! He took wonderful care of Stanley and Millie and did a great job communicating with us every day, including sending photos that we really appreciated. One of our dogs is ill, needs daily medication, and is very attached to me, and Michael handled this beautifully — she did great and was clearly comfortable and well cared for. We came home to a very tidy house, but most importantly, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly in excellent hands. We felt completely at ease while we were away. We were so pleased that we’ve already booked Michael again for another trip. Highly recommend!

I can not say enough good things about Tiffany! She really is the best. She cares for our animals like they are her own and always provides the best updates. I never worry about my little farm when i'm gone when I know they are with her. She gives them all the love and attention we do and more!

Madi helped us out when our confirmed Rover sitter canceled at the last minute. Both of our pets are in their senior years and we wanted a sitter with this type of experience. Madi stayed at our home and took great care of them. She kept in regular communication with us and sent photos. We highly recommend her and would definitely seek her out again should we need a pet sitter.

Abby and Austin are absolutely wonderful! They spent the day at our home and then at the dog park with Penny, and we couldn’t have asked for better care. They kept her happy, entertained, and comfortable all day long. It was such a relief knowing Penny was in such loving, capable hands while we were away. They sent updates throughout the day so we knew she was doing great, and we came home to a very content pup. Penny adores them, and it’s clear how much they love and understand dogs. We feel so lucky to have found them and will definitely be booking with them again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Coto De Caza
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Coto De Caza on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,512 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Coto De Caza. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coto De Caza walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coto De Caza maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coto De Caza choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
